Accommodations Slip for Invites... HELP

Melissa, on June 26, 2009 at 11:43 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

So I was originally going to include a little slip of paper with the Accommodations information letting people know when and how to book a hotel room if they desired at the discounted rate. However, I also have a slip of paper included for directions and another one for the Golf Tournament we are hosting the day before the wedding and I dont know if ANOTHER random slip of paper would be too much. I could try and include the accommodations info on the reception card but I dont know if I will have enough room...

I need suggestions on what to do...

If you have a wedding website, I would of just printed of one sheet stating: "For more information like accomodations, directions and Golf Tourny info, Please vist our wedding website: www.website.com

We look forward to seeing you! Love Melissa & Joe"

It might get a little busy to include a couple of slips of paper, particularly if they are different in size, style, etc.

If you have a wedding website, what you can do instead, is include one information card that has your website address, and refer them to that for accommodations and events.

Or you can also include one card, front and back, with one side for accommodations and one side for events.

I am struggling with this too. I know I have a while yet before I need to think about it, but I am making my invitations myself so I have been thinking about how much I'm going to need for supplies. Anyway, I think it will get too busy with a separate paper for driving directions, reception, golf tournament, accomodations, AND the invitation itself. Like someone else said, maybe do a slip that offers your website address, and say that all of these things are included on the site.

I sent out Save the Dates and included the website address with those so people can start planning their accomodations and other events earlier than I will actually send the invitations. I will then have the website address on the response card to encourage people to RSVP online. The website really allows me to put so much more than what I would ever want to slip into the invite--saves paper, time, and postage plus they have less to keep track of.

How many people do you have coming from out of town? My wedding was really small, and the number of people from out of town was even smaller. I think we needed 10 rooms total for out of towners.

We blocked off a chunk of rooms and was offered a discount of like 10% off of rack which is hardly anything. We kept the block in case we ran into issues, but ultimately I found it cheaper for everyone to go through Hotwire to get a higher class room for less money. So we just verbally contact those people that came from afar that required rooms and told them to do that.

In all honesty, people coming from afar are likely going to be closer to you (family and close friends). It won't take much to spread the word, or have a phone chain of sorts. Uncle Bob from Bird in Hand, PA (yes real place! right near Intercourse, PA) calls Ertha because he talks to her frequently and lets her know this.

Www.monogramwedding.com provides sample uses of double sided postcards. You can choose from a ton of designs and they have over 250 color selections. Another option is a pocket invite and then the pieces of paper will seems like they have a spot. Just some thoughts....good luck!
