Should a wife consult her husband before cutting her hair? Why or why not?

I would say it depends on the couple and their expectations. I probably wouldn’t consult my FH because I know he could care less.

A head's up on drastic changes is nice. I like it when my husband tells me that he's cutting all his hair off or shaving his facial hair off or whatever so I am not surprised. Permission, on the other hand, not required.

Maybe if it's a super drastic change, but overall I'd say it is a matter of personal opinion. I, for one, would ask my FH before I went to a pixie cut, but not if I were to cut 4" off. I do know that his answer, more than likely, would be "you'll look beautiful no matter what" which is nice but sometimes not helpful lol.

If there were a huge event coming up, such as a wedding, huge work event, production, etc. then I'd be more likely to consult him.

I guess it depends on what we mean by consult. If it's a dramatic change I'd probably bring it up before in conversation because I'm thinking about it outloud, and he does the same. But some couple's need "permission" before they do anything and I think that's ridiculous.
Besides hair grows back, even the worst cut can be grown out again, it's not worth sweating over.

I used to keep my hair short but years before I got married my husband asked me to stop cutting my hair. Because I know that he likes my hair long I would consult him before doing a dramatic cut.

I don't think you need to.
But then again fiance came home with bright purple hair one night and I don't think anything will ever top that 🤣

😂 I would have been completely surprised but if he looked good in it then I would be okay.

Oh no it was awful. But you only live once so I told him next time let me know and I'll tell him what to do or what to look for in a professional. The dye was everywhere, it made his hair fall out, it stained all my pillows and cases. The works. But now we laugh about it.
Then he did it blue and that looked super good on him so we painted our dining room the same color 🤣

Drastic change like knee length to ear short I’d check with what he would prefer. And then go from there- compromise.
Mid it’s a trim and a bit more, a normal colour,, nope do it.

I would definitely ask his opinion, but in the end it’s my hair and I will do what I want with it.

I might let him know, but he doesn't get a say on how I look. I don't tell him if he needs to cut his, he doesn't get to tell him I can't. That's controlling, and doesn't fly with me.

Im sure it varies butttt I wouldn't its my choice If I want long hair or short.. just like he doesn't "consult" me when he gets a hair cut nor do I expect it.
