Has anyone else went from LOVING their dress when they bought it and then not liking it a few months later for alterations? I am a week out from my wedding and I really dislike the dress. I feel fat and frumpy in it and it just is not how I remember it, I have felt this way since receiving the dress...

Has anyone else went from LOVING their dress when they bought it and then not liking it a few months later for alterations? I am a week out from my wedding and I really dislike the dress. I feel fat and frumpy in it and it just is not how I remember it, I have felt this way since receiving the dress and hoping I would feel different with alterations but still do not like it. My mom said she thinks it looks great and so does the woman that is altering but seriously who is going to tell a bride otherwise LOL.

I originally picked it because I love the loose ruffled bottom, not sure what I am looking for here just support I guess and if others have experienced the same thing. Picture of the dress is from before alterations so it looks loose in the shoulders still here.

Great points! Every time I’ve had alterations has been towards the end of the day so definitely bloated. The fat I’m referring to is arms and stuff and belly but thankfully with the bottom lose it’s night tight or restricting in that area. I have Considered shapewear but the back is open. Maybe I’ll go this weekend to try to find something!

Can’t even see your arms in that pic, but again you look lovely! We’re always most critical of ourselves

I loved my dress at the first fitting. Fast forward to Wednesday and I absolutely hate it. It doesn’t fit at all like it did pinned. I was sweating, it was so tight, it was just awful. I hated it so much I went to DB yesterday and bought another dress off the rack that doesn’t need to be altered. My seamstress told me to drink a ton of water and try it again in a week. Wedding is 10/3. My point is, I feel you. You loved the dress before and hopefully will again. Xoxo

I hope you love it next time you try it on as much as you did the first time. Yes it sucks I’ve debated trying on a new dress but being a week out I’m going to suck it up and focus on the day not the dress.

I don't know what you're talking about, this dress is lovely and you look gorgeous in it!

That being said, I get what you're saying about being nervous. I had my first alterations appointment a week or so ago and she started cutting it while I was there and taking it in and it made it feel so tight. I started to have these feelings of what if I hate it when it is done. Just have faith that the day of, with some tanning and makeup and hair and any accessories or whatever else you are doing day of, you will feel amazing in your dress.

Your dress looks so pretty on you. Seriously. Sometimes, we are our own worse enemies. I feel the same way sometimes. What really helps me a lot to feel thinner and sexier is to wear a pair of spanx. I love how it makes me feel more confident. I’m not saying you need anything because you look amazing. I’m just telling you a trick I use on myself to get me out of my head space.

I really think this is that 'this is it' moment. I'm 3 weeks out and when taking my own picture from behind me I got the idea that it's not flattering on me. Even though there was a couple at the desk that told me that dress was gorgeous. All I heard was the dress was pretty but I wasn't. I really think we're just close to the end and having a freak out. Your dress is beautiful and so are you - and really we're just tearing ourselves up. I think a pamper day is in order! I really think it will all come together - that's what I am telling myself! Smiley heart
