Susan
Dedicated November 2019

a little over whelmed...

Susan, on July 15, 2019 at 12:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
While I seem to get more and more stuff accomplished (in the last two weeks I have...picked up invites, both girls have dresses, supplies for favors are here, booked flights and hotels for family in Pennsylvania, ordered rental stuff, booked hair and make up, paid the bar and caterer totally)...I still feel like I am not anywhere near being ready for my November 2nd wedding. We still have to make center pieces, get insurance, get our marriage license, get tuxes, get other décor stuff, figure out transportation..and the list goes on. Is anyone else wondering how this all comes together? Furthermore, is it ok to put 10 people at 60 inch round tables? I don't have shoes, I have no idea how and when we all get the whole reception area decorated. This is A LOT..sorry to vent.

It's totally normal to feel overwhelmed! Have you taken any breaks from planning recently? Don't burn yourself out Smiley smile

You can definitely do it! I was where you were recently, it will all come together. You still have almost 4 months, which is the length of my full engagement hahah. Take a deep breath, relax, and find a day or weekend to get away and not think or talk about the wedding! It will be hard but doable.

Thank you ladies!! I have taken breaks here and there, it just seems like there is no end to the things that need to be done, and no one to really help that much..my matron of honor lives out of state, my other bridesmaid has done nothing, my mother is out of state and wants to just show up the day before..my Fiance will help with stuff here and there, but this really is all on me.

It sounds like you're totally on top of things Susan, however, it's totally normal to feel overwhelmed with everything that's left. Sending you a big e-hug Smiley heart

Vent as much as you need to. The community is here to listen and offer any support we can Smiley smile

Have you created a to-do list of everything that needs to be done? This may help you feel on top of everything and actually see where the end is! It may help make everything more manageable and feel more achievable.

Create a checklist!! I LIVE via my Excel Spreadsheets and wedding planning binder! It kind of looks ridiculous to anyone else but it brings so much calm to me.

I would also take a look at the wedding items I already have and organize them according to what they are for and see what needs to be added. Example: Already have candles, need flowers.

List the tasks as most important to do now versus what can be done next week or next month. You have 4 months which is plenty of time for the things you listed you still need to accomplish. Take a look at the WW suggested timeline of things to do and ensure you haven't missed anything in those steps as well.

Thanks Ladies for all the supportive words! I have been plugging away on the to do lists I have and just trying to get something done each time I have off.
