9 Days out and forgot something important

Katelyn, on September 12, 2019 at 9:44 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8

My wedding is 9 days away and I had something slip off my to-do list. I have 12 round tables that will seat 8 guests each. We have assigned seating for the reception and I have no idea how I will be letting people know what table they will be sitting at. What is the best way I can do this with only 9 days left?

I would order placecards from somewhere like Vistaprint who offers fast shipping.

We have place cards, but I don't want 96 people to have to walk around all 12 tables to find their seats, or to have to try to find there name with 96 cards placed out. I'm not sure the best way to do it though.

Typically you would display them on a table (or another type of display,) in alphabetical order, near the entrance of the venue. Your guests would pick them up and find their table. Did you assign seats or just tables?

So you need table numbers? They have tons of options at Party City, AC Moore, or Michael's. Or are you looking for an actual table chart?

Get a cheaper nice mirror with a stand and a paint pen. Paint the table numbers and the guests names!

If you want to assign people to specific seats, I'd recommend a large seating chart that's either alphabetized by last name, or divided into tables that are alphabetized by last name. If you just want to assign people to tables, you could use the name cards as escort cards and include a table number on them.

If you have place cards, but they don't have the table numbers on them, you can just write the numbers on the bottom of each card. That way it won't cost extra money. Then you just set up the cards on a table near the entrance. So your guest finds the card with their name on it, and there's a number written at the bottom that is their table number.

When my cousin got married they had all the place cards set out on a table at the front with the guest’s name and table number, then at least you just had to find the right table number. And with 12 tables that’s not too bad.
