9 days away…what am i forgetting??

Jessica, on June 9, 2022 at 12:03 PM Posted in Planning 7 17
Hello All!!

I am such a planner - I feel like I have everything ready for our 6/18 wedding. I have reached out to all vendors to make sure we are all set, packed up everything to be brought to the venue…but I’m kinda stir crazy and worried I may have forgotten something. What are some things that are easily forgotten or overlooked that need to be done the week before!
So ready to marry my man!!! 💕❤️

Congratulations Jessica! It’ll be here before you know it! I am definitely the same way, I have a ‘day of checklist’ for little things like bandaids, hair clips, q tips, safety pins even tissue. I try to include the small things we might need.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is to remember your marriage license!

Are you staying in a hotel the night before? I made a list of every little thing I would need to bring so I didn't forget anything when packing. Every little item of jewelry, specialized toiletries, signage, all the small last-minute items that would need to go to the venue or rehearsal or whatever.

Congrats! Here’s my advice for last minute things:
    1) Appoint someone to be the keeper of the wedding bands, especially if your photographer will be taking details pictures with them while you get ready in a different room or if your ceremony is not at the getting ready location (my aunt and uncle had to save the day and rush them to the church because we left them at the hotel).
    2) Have dry, small-bite snacks at the ready! I suddenly got hungry just before we left for the church, so my parents went to the hotel gift shop and bought me Cheese-It’s and Animal Crackers. They were small enough that I could just pop each of them in my mouth and not get crumbs all over my dress.
    3) If you’re leaving right away from the venue for your honeymoon, leave a list with someone of things you want to make sure they track down and pack for you during tear down. No one packed up my bouquet or the centerpiece at our table, so I’m kind of sad I don’t get to have those preserved.4) I would highly suggest to just go ahead and plan on having to safety pin your bustle (if you have one) at the very beginning of the reception. Mine kept falling out of the button loops and we finally safety-pinned it in the last hour of our reception.

My best advice to you from one planner to another it’s just to review everything and then use this week to just get into a bridal frame of mind and focus on being beautiful. I would also make sure that he was ever helping you understand their assignments so that your day goes off without a hitch.

Thank you so much for asking this! My wedding is June 25th and I'm in the same frame of mind right now. What am I missing?? haha. I wrote down some of these ideas so thank you everyone!

    Here is what I have:

-List of everything that needs to go to the venue the night of the rehearsal dinner (most decor items)

-List of everything that I need to bring with me the morning of (dress, accessories, shoes, overnight bag, emergency items like safety pins, Band-Aids, etc.)

-Goes along with the above but putting as a separate line item since they are important - marriage license, wedding bands, vows!

-steamer for wrinkled dresses, suits, shirts, etc.

    -Wedding day timeline

-List of all formal portrait photos I want my photographer to take

-text to wedding party with details of rehearsal/rehearsal dinner times/addresses and any pertinent info about the wedding they may need in advance.

I hope this helps and congratulations!!!
