Congratulations! There's a special kind of love that develops and evolves when you've been dating over 5 years. My finance and I had been dating for 6 1/2 years before he popped the question and saying yes to him was such a natural and sure response. We both had been married prior to our relationship, years before we met, so when we did meet and began our relationship, we were so intentionally about keeping our relationship in its own bubble...and just the development of us in character, in goals, in our careers, in our own selves was something I always cherished. Our love was able to grow and mature without the interference of others' opinions, solicited or not, without the influence of others, and we were just becoming our better selves with each other... so after 8 years and you said yes.... that's truly a gem!
