8 bridesmaids 4 groomsman. Pictures and walking down the isle.

Tara, on August 21, 2012 at 8:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

My fiancé has very few people coming to the wedding, and very few people in the wedding lol. I convinced him to go from 3 groomsman to 4 to make it half of the bridesmaids that I have . Was this a good idea? I thought it would look better in pictures. I wish we had an even number but that will never happen lol. Does anyone have any idea on how to make that look good in pictures or anything? We cant exactly do the standard picture where everyone stands in a line on either side of the bride and groom. It would look un-proportional. Also how should everyone walk down the isle? I though two guys to 1 girl but my bridesmaid hate the idea..... They want to do it buy themselves... Please help?!

Let the groomsmen stand up front and the girls walk down on their own, but on the way back up do 2 girls to 1 guy.

As far as where everyone stands, 4 girls & 2 guys per side and just alternate!!

I don't think the mismatched numbers are that big a deal for the pictures -- what's important is to have people that love and support you standing with you. As far as walking, I think Priscilla's idea is good. I was in a wedding with more girls than guys, and me and another BM both walked with one GM. No biggie.

Welcome to WW! I hope you'll update your avatar to something unique so we can remember you in the future -- the default rings get lost in the crowd. Smiley sad Here's how to do that and more: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/new-to-the-weddingwire-forums-please-read-before-you-post/b433c40c1a62b96a.html

I was also thinking just have each guy walk with two girls.

Pictures could be a bit tricky, but I'm sure there are plenty of ways to make it work, just try googling some photo inspiration. Smiley smile

This couple seems to pull it off. Smiley smile

I personally hate posey portraits so I think having it uneven would look fun. Just scatter it in portraits, like Priscilla said, alternate with the girls in poses and for a more relaxed spread out and have a couple girls by a guy, a couple guys together, a couple girls together so you wont even notice. and I agree, if the girls dont want to be escorted down 2 at a time, have the guys up front and girls by themselves and then a guy walks 2 back down the aisle at the end.
