7/10/21 wedding

Tiffany, on July 1, 2020 at 4:19 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 35

Hey guys

Wedding is set up for 7/10/21 but with everything going on I'm nervous to keep planning. Is it bad to keep planning with everything currently going on?

In your case I would keep planning. A lot can happen in a year with this pandemic.

Definitely keep planning! Hopefully a year from now, COVID won't be as much of a threat (though no one actually knows what will happen). It couldn't hurt to ask your venue/vendors about what would happen in the event that COVID forces you to reschedule - will they let you postpone with no fees? Check to see where things are with COVID in April or May 2021 and make a decision around that time whether to proceed with your wedding or postpone. Otherwise, I would continue planning for your wedding to occur July 2021.

It’s hard to tell at the moment. I mean I would keep planning and make sure I have a contract with vendors that will allow postponing without penalty. I would also try to negotiate deposits. The more you get done sooner the less you have to worry about it closer to the date. You never know when places will have to close again due to another restriction or shutdown.
Here I am waiting for September that might not even. happen. If I would have known to negotiate lower deposits for vendor like 15-20% instead of 50%, I would have cancelled ths mess 2 months ago and moved on with my life. We were done planning in March and had minor payments left. Now vendors have my money and we might now even have a wedding in September.
If you wait you get first picks on vendors. Good luck to you.

I hope that your wedding is still
Able to take place. Everything has been so crazy but who knows. Are you looking into pushing it back?

Oh no, not pushing anything back. If it doesn’t happen in September we decided to cut our losses, grit our teeth and make back up our finances by doing overtime for 2 months. Then go on 2 honeymoons.

Definitely keep planning. Many weddings/events in 2020 are getting pushed back to 2021 Sō vendors are likely booking fast for 2021

I don’t see why not. In MA the numbers keep going down and we’re on phase 2 part 2

Keep planning! You don’t want to be scrambling at the end if you put things off. We have the majority of things decided for our 4/3/21 wedding.

I'd keep planning, a lot can happen in a year. I'd just ask your venue/vendors what happens in case you're forced to cancel or postpone, I know we did to make sure our money isn't lost for our July 2021 wedding. If everything is fine, you'd hate to have put everything off & are doing things last minute.

I can totally relate to you. Our original wedding date is 7/25/2020. FH and I are going to elope and legally get married on this date with just 2 witnesses. We postponed the big celebration to May 2021. I am hoping things will be safe by then. If not then I don’t know what to do. This has been so draining. If we have to postpone again, I already know FH is going to say just cancel it. Smh
    Wishing the best for everyone

Def keep planning! I’m getting married on July 17 this year but pushed my party to July 18,2021 I’m hoping and praying things will be better by then they may not be normal but atleast not how we are now. I would say keep planning because a lot of 2020 brides are moving to 2021 so you don’t want to run into any issues.

    Congratulations Tiffany,

    1. Keep planning2. Only pay the minimum deposits 3. Be sure to bank all the money you need. Keep track of your virtual payments so you know where you are in your budget. 4. Ask you vendors for their contingency plan. Based on the situation at near the time of your wedding, can you move the date. We are considering moving to a year out to celebrate our anniversary if we can’t move forward as planned in September. In 86 days!
