70's Music

Cookie, on April 12, 2011 at 3:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Ok. So we are doing a disco theme for our wedding. So far planning has been rather easy as I have a planner included with the venue that I can contact at any time with questions or foe suggestions. Anyways, one thing I am having trouble with is music. We have a lot of disco music planned to be playing in the background during reception and the seating of guests. What I need is a good 70's song to walk down the aisle to. I was not even born until the 80' so I personally do not know of any good romantic songs from that era. My FH was born in 73 but cannot think of any either. Any suggestions?

What about You Sexy Thing - from Hot chocolate?

How deep is your love - Bee Gees.

Not sure what style you are going for. Did you want to keep the disco theme?

I am showing my age, but the song, "The Wedding Song" otherwise known as...."There IS Love" by Paul Stookey This guy's version of it is awesome. It is the typical wedding entrance song from the 70's. http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/the-wedding-song-cover-there-is-love-paul-stookey-played-by-woodenax/7f1179f73f54ca97ce6b7f1179f73f54ca97ce6b-479079236495?q=Wedding Song Paul Stookey

First dance songs from the 70's....

    Carpenters...."We Have Only Just Begun"
    "Close To You"

    "Always and Forever"
    "Color My World"

@Cookie....It was my pleasure. I love your theme. While I enjoy my classic rock, I danced my arse off to disco all through the 70's. Smiley smile

We're doing a 70's theme too! Unfortunately, we are staying away from disco so I don't think I can be much help there. We're looking at some songs by The Doors use during the ceremony.

@VInlars...Awesome! While I may have disco danced, my heart is with my head music. My three faves: Stones, Dead Doors. We have a handful of danceable Doors songs on our playlist for the DJ. Since I lived through it, I would be more than happy to help with the classic rock.
