47 days left and engagement ring broke

More of just a vent than anything.... so I love love love the ring my FH gave me. Specifically there is a Celtic knot design on the band. However, with the detail I guess it creates a weak point. Well, I've always been wearing it, because, well, I LOVE it and seeing it on my hand makes me happy. Even at work, which made my FH nervous. I work as a surgical veterinary technician so I am very hands on with my job, and am consistently putting gloves on and off. I was always cautious because surely the last thing I want is to lose the ring in a glove or something stupid.
Well... yesterday i had an incident. Hitting my hand on the corner of a cabinet. Of all things. Must've hit it at just the right angle cuz it split on both ends of the band. I'm devastated. I have both pieces and we just took it to a jewelry to have it fixed and possibly reinforced so hopefully itll be ok but in the meanwhile I am freaking out and upset.
TLSmiley laughR I'm clumsy and broke my ring and I'm sad about it

I totally get you girl! In April I was at work when I noticed that one of the small diamonds in my band was missing and I was so upset! It was obviously something small, but still!! I’m a paramedic, so I have a lot of the same potential problems with working with my hands. I still refuse to leave it off lol. I love having it on too much!! Thankfully FH knows me well, and bought the lifetime warranty plan 😂😳🤷🏻‍♀️

Haha yes, my very first question was whether it was insured, even though I already knew it was. Yeah I know I shouldn't especially since something has happened, but I dont know! Everyone keeps bringing up the silicone ones so i may need to consider it. And glad I'm not the only one!

Insurance and warranties are AMAZING for something you are going To wear every single day. Wear and tear happen, accidents happen. That’s life. 🤷🏻‍♀️ And I wore a silicone one for a while and didn’t love it.. it feels weird. I still occasionally wear it, but I just love wearing my ring! Once we are married, i’ll Probably wear just my band for work and leave the E-ring home. But I might not! 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Interesting. And I haven't seen the wedding band but I may go with that since it'll be sturdier. But again, I'm right there with you! 🤣

Oh my god I totally get you!! I work in food service, and I started taking my ring off at work because my hands are in chemicals all day long cleaning, and I noticed a few months ago I had two of the small diamonds in my band missing! FH was very upset and when we went to the jeweler he said most of my diamonds were loose because my ring was a little too big! Thankfully he replaced the diamonds for free and only charged us for the resize. I felt naked for days without my ring! I’m so glad you didn’t lose the pieces.

I'm so sorry this happened to you! I really hope your ring gets fixed quickly. I know I would have cried buckets if that happened to me!

Thanks! Yeah it was awful cuz a client was right there and I may have let out a couple expletives. Luckily I went to the back to do the real crying. Thank you, I'll have it back Friday. Fingers crossed itll be ok!

I completely understand, I didn't have my ring a month before I hit it on the shower door and lost a sapphire. I was literally on my hands and knees looking for it in tears and yelling for my son to come help while on the phone with my fiance. Thankfully he was able to take it in for repair and had all the stones reinforced. Now as soon as I walk in my front door I walk straight to the jewelry box and put my ring in its place for safe keeping.
