4/4/20 Coronavirus wedding

Jimmy, on March 12, 2020 at 2:37 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 10

Getting married on 4/4/20 in Richmond VA. Have family coming from CA, NY, CT, MD, and NC. What are your thoughts? The venue said their doors are open. I guess the only thing that will impact us is our guest count which would be unfortunate. All immediate family and closest friends are local.

You could always reconfirm with your guests about their attendance just to get a better idea

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Be prepared, but I think if most of your guests are local they will come.

They'll come as long as there isn't a statewide quarantine...that is my fear and I am marrying on 04/09.

This is what we are doing. We have to have final counts in by Tuesday and I just told people to let me know by then if they feel uncomfortable coming.

It is what it is. It’s awful, but I’m trying to be positive!

Right that was my main concern. How many of your guest are coming from out of town and how much this count will impact your catering count etc .....

Mine is same day and in Norfolk. If you have the funds and haven't already I recommend you get wedding insurance incase you need to cancel due to potential amount of last minute cancellations. I just bought some today myself. I think it will be fine since southern VA except one case closer to NC is uneffected.

Did it just cover if anyone gets sick? I’m having trouble finding general insurance for if we decided canceling is for the best or if mass quarantines go into effect.

Depends on the policy you pick and the place you go with. Just make sure you read everything before signing and paying incase there's hidden clauses. I went with WedSafe but an earlier post said they had issues with them when they canceled recently so hard to tell honestly.

Okay yeah I think it’s the same policy I have and it only covers if you or FH or family gets sick. It won’t cover if the venue is shut down or any state/federal order quarantine as a result. I was just curious as I haven’t found any that would cover this.

I think you need to take a careful look at your guest list, see if you have vulnerable guests.

The Northeast is really starting to shut down, so now is the time to talk to your vendors and your family about options.

    I'm so sorry.
