4 hour reception timeline

Does this include cocktail hour? Also, what about setting up and tearing down? When we got married our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all at the same venue just in different areas. For our reception, guests were allowed into the ballroom at 6:00 pm. We had our grand entrance at 6:15 pm then immediately went into our first dance followed by toasts. The salad course was served at 6:30 pm. At 6:45 pm the buffet opened. Dinner lasted until about 7:30 at which time was cake cutting. While everyone was finishing cake, I had my dance with my dad followed by his dance with his mom. At 7:45, we had a trivia game then the dance floor opened at 8 pm. Our reception ended at 10 pm and our venue and florist then cleaned everything up. We had approximately 90 guests.

That's how ours was as well. I think if you look at what my timeline was it might give you a good idea. I will say our wedding ceremony started at 4:30. It sounds like you've left a very short period of time for your ceremony. Ten minutes doesn't seem long enough to me.

That makes much more sense. I was very surprised that when you wrote only ten minutes. I pictured you running down the aisle and speeding through your vows lol

I thought the same thing, but it was plenty of time. Unless you are doing something very unique I think 30 minutes should definitely be fine, but I would confirm with your officiant.
