4 days away...dress doesn't fit :(

When I ordered my dress, the lady took my measurements and told me to order a 10 (I tried on a 12). So, I ordered the 10, and it has NEVER fit me. When I ordered my dress, the lady took my measurements and told me to order a 10 (I tried on a 12). So, I ordered the 10, and it has NEVER fit me. My weight has fluctuated a tiny bit (maybe by 5 pounds) over the past 6 months, but the dress has always been small. At my fitting a few weeks ago, she said she would take it out as much as she could. I tried it on tonight, and it is still too small. Smiley sad It zips, but it is all bunched up at the waist, because it should lay a little lower (if that makes sense). Basically, it's too tight around my stomach/butt area.

I'm so sad. Smiley sad The worst part is that the seamstress had an emergency and wasn't even there, so I couldn't even ask if there was anything else we could do. I'm going to call tomorrow on my lunch break, but I'm feeling really depressed about it. I wasn't feeling nervous at all for the wedding-only excitement-and then this. Smiley sad

Don't stress, here's what you do:

Diuretics. Eat as much salad, asparagus and fish (sole, cod, tilapia) as you have meals the next 4 days. Whole, water based fruits (apples, pears, nectarines, berries) before 2pm (and not after). WATER, WATER, WATER. Drink it. A lot. You should be peeing every 45mins-1 hour if you're doing it right (lol, just kidding..kind of, you will really pee very regularly). The water will a) flush toxins b) flush water weight.

No CARBS!!! No salt, no sugar, no soda (even diet), no foods that cause gas/bloating (i.e. broccoli, cauliflower).

You can drop 3-5 pounds in only a few days by sticking to this. You can do it and even if the dress doesn't fit perfectly, you will know that it fits BETTER than it did today!

Is it a zipper dress? if so - have the seamstress switch out the zipper for a corset and also let out the skirt.

Thanks so much, everyone! Smiley smile

I called the seamstress today (since she wasn't at my appointment yesterday), and asked if she could take the dress out any more. She called me back and said that she may be able to do a little more. I'm going to go in tomorrow after work, and try it on again with my Spanx. Fingers crossed!

@Mrs S-WHY didn't I think of that earlier?!! EEK! I love the look of a corset so much more than a zipper, and this would have solved my problem a long time ago. Oh, well.

K & A's advice is spot on. But if you are being strict about cutting carbs beware that the fruit she mentioned is high in carbs, which may or may not bloat you depending on how your body reacts.

Also dairy causes many people to bloat, I would steer clear. Good luck!

Look into those body wraps that supposedly take inches off. Might be worth a try!

..I should clarify. It's some kind of foil wrap that is supposed to make you shed water weight. Call your local spa

OMG I am so sorry you are going through this may I ask why you didn't do something about it earlier than now? I had the same problem The girl at DB didn't even measure me she just ordered me a 10 because she said that was my sixe it came in and it fit but "just" fit like if I gained five pounds it would not zip not to mention it was to short. So this dress was being discontinued and I was in a panic. I rushed down to the store and they ordered me a 12 in extra legnth now it's to big because I lost weight but they can take it in. I honestly would demand that they exchange it and give me anew dress that fits if your this close to the wedding your only going to be able to loose so much and two pairs of spanx your going to be so uncomfortable. Good luck and I hope it all works out.

@Jennifer G-She kept telling me we could take it. I figured she would take out enough to make it fit.

Update: I went in today to try the dress on again, and it fits perfectly! Smiley laugh She took it out a bit more, and I wore Spanx. I was so happy that I came home and ate a peanut butter sandwich. Feels good to eat again. PHEW!
