“360” Seating!

Izzykern, on August 25, 2019 at 3:45 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11
So we have been trying to think outside of the box for our wedding ceremony, making it unique to us as a couple! We are not having a bridal party, so we had an idea to do “360” ceremony seating, where all our guests would be surrounding us. We like the symbolism of the ring as a circle and all our loved ones forming a circle around us. It would work very well with our ceremony space and we would be standing directly under a romantic chandelier. I’ve attached a picture of what we are thinking! Let me know your thoughts/ideas! Thanks

That’s super interesting! The only problem I would See is some people would see the back of everyone.

I like the idea of U shaped seating as an alternative. With circular seating, the officiant's back would block the view of the couple for the guests in the back.

Yes, we thought about this too. we are trying to do it like the picture where there are 4 aisle ways that way the officiant and couple would never have their backs directly to a line of guests

I love the idea. You’re always going to see the back of someone, so if it’s not the officiant then it’ll be the couple. But I definitely think it’ll give everyone a unique experience and personally if love to see the bride and grooms faces as opposed to the officiants for once!

One of my friends did this for her wedding! It was a really gorgeous set up and it made the ceremony feel really intimate (even with 120 guests), but it was the first time her venue and her wedding planner had tried it so there were a few kinks.

    My top tips would be:

    - Tell your officiant about the set-up beforehand. A great officiant will then make sure to turn and talk to all of the guests throughout the ceremony and be really inclusive!

    - Make sure both sets of parents have reserved seats facing the couple so they have the best view!

    - Figure out where your bridal party will stand! My friend had her bridal party stand in single files lines going out those side aisles (the left and right aisles in your picture), but that ended up blocking everyone's view. So those of us who were behind the officiant also couldn't peek around the officiant to see the couple because the bridal party was in the way. I'd recommend having your bridal party sit down in the first 1-2 rows, or they could stand behind the last row of chairs making a semi-circle in the front or back!
