Accessories - $10.99 (JJsHouse)

Haircut - $20.00

DJ -$80.00 but we’re breaking him off more as a thankyou and he doesn’t know Smiley smile he’s my FBIL!

Bridesmaids bouquets - $97 cents (Walmart) I’m using 6 flowers per bouquet so it’s $5.82 for each bouquet.

Photography/Videography - paid for by FFIL

Food- FFIL will be catering

Grooms-ring-$79.99 online at Kay Jewelers and over $500 in the store. Shop smart!! Lol.

Vase centerpieces - $36.00 (Dollar-tree)

Chair cover sash- $0.59 (CVLINENS) we’re buying 110 so $73.44 in total

Groomsmen bouts- $0.97 (Walmart flowers)

Bride Bouquet - $0.97 (walmart) I’m using 8 flowers and they are FULL $7.76 total

High back throne chair - $188.00

Table numbers - $42.00 (Etsy)

Cake - $265.00

Cardbox - $9.99 (Oriental Trading)

Flower Arrangements for Centerpieces - $148.20 (afloral)

Rent my wedding package - $299.00

Cake topper - $14.50 (Etsy)

Sequin table cloth for bridal party table - $13.88 (amazon)

Sequin table cloth for cake - $14.86 (Amazon)

My dress was brought about two months ago and isn’t included in the budget but I paid $200 + 65 shipping for it from Preownedwessingdress.com and I’m in love with my dress. It was never worn and it was a sample dress.

Transportation - FFIL will be letting us borrow his 1949 Chevrolet fleet line.

My MOH rented a villa for us all so I will be getting dressed there and don’t need to book a hotel for the night before.

I sacrificed going inside a bridal store to say yes to my dress, I sacrificed buying real plates, silverware, I sacrificed real/silk flowers for my bouquet, DIYing the centerpieces. I was gonna buy Eiffel Tower vases that would have been $72 for 12, found the vases yesterday in dollar tree to DIY the reversible trumpet vase and spent $36 so I saved $36 bucks on centerpieces.

We came under budget at about $2,782.43 maybe FH can go out and buy new shoes or the rest can go toward our honey moon or just back in the bank to go towards our house. Honey moon budget isn’t included in this budget.

Hope this helps and congratulations and good luck to everyone planning they’re wedding Smiley smile

I will also attach a picture of our save the date postcard. The invitations will be in the same family.

No one is being mean to OP, they are being honest with her. Unfortunately, her budget breakdown relies on other people to front the majority of the costs associated with her wedding. Other brides who have a $3000 budget may be mislead by her post since OP's wedding won't cost $3,000 but, is likely closer to $10,000.

Assuming all of OPs stated costs she is spending $2,782. Add in the following estimates (which I've done on the lower side):

Wedding dress- $265 (not sure why this wasn't included originally)

    Alterations: $100

    Invitations/STDs: $100

    DJ: $500

    Favors: $60

    Photography: $500

Food/Catering: $1200 (assuming 60 guests (based on OPs plate/servingware purchases) at $20 pp)

    Taxes/Gratuity/etc. for catering: $300 (20% grat, 6% tax)

    Alcohol/Bartender: $1000

    Hotel/House rental: $200

Total equals out to $7500 not including an officiant, bridal party gifts, venue, hair/makeup, stamps, etc. More than double OPs original $3000 budget.

Why do you expect congratulations for providing false hope to people?

Many people have said nice things too, but being told you are incorrect is not being mean. Several people have nicely explained why you don’t have $3000 budget. Maybe instead of being upset, you can take some of this advice to heart rather than sticking your fingers in your ears and ignoring everyone.

No one is mad. My parents paid for my wedding. Does that mean my budget was zero? No. Its means that my contribution was small. That's great you only had to pay 3k for you wedding, if that's what you wanted. But with all the discounts and things you are being given it means the actual budget is more than 3k. That's all anyone is saying. Your title, based on your given breakdown, is misleading.

OP: congrats on having a $6000 to $7000 wedding that is passing for a 3G affair. Someone is paying for food, there is a cost there you are not absorbing it.
We had a true $3000 wedding (it was a bit under actually) for 44 people. No friendors, no people buying and preparing the food. We had awesome food, drinks and music.

She spent 3000 on a wedding. Which literally makes her wedding a $3000 wedding. I’m not understanding where this disconnection is lol. And yes. One of you literally called her day lame for using a friend-or. That’s pretty mean in my book. I would never call anyone else’s day lame because I don’t agree with their view. You all are criticizing her because she didn’t pay for her own ___? Many people don’t. I’ve seen mannnny breakdowns of all budgets that don’t include a gift from parents. Is hers different because her budget is 3k and not 15k? I’m having a problem seeing why everyone came on here JUST to disagree with her breakdown?

It’s not mean to point out that this is not a $3,000 wedding. It is very misleading.

But other people needed to spend money so the event cost more than that even if she is only paying 3k of it. No shame in other people contributing we were given 90% of our budget that doesn’t mean we had a 2k wedding though....

Do any of you even have a 3k budget? Because my budget is 5k and I’m paying entirely out of my own pocket and still didn’t find it “misleading” lol

Gifted coats should be included in this breakdown. There’s no food, no photographer. Since most people have those at their wedding, it’s misleading because two major costs aren’t included.

Perfect. Follow her budget exactly then and you will come in well under your budget. Too bad you won’t have food or alcohol or a photographer.

We did. We started at $2000 then realized we wanted more, we ended up at around $2,700 or so, not including rings, honeymoon or his attire. My dress was $60.
OP: no one is trying to harsh your buzz, the reality is the total cost of your wedding is whatever EVERYONE paid, not just your out of pocket expense.

$3000 was her wedding budget meaning that’s what they had planned to spend & she gave the breakdown of what “She” spent. Not meaning that it was the total of her cost for the wedding, it was just her budget.
My FH and I had a budget in mind but unfortunately because of where we live it made us push our budget up by a few thousands but by the grace of God we are getting help from family members as well so I won’t be including what they have to pay in my budget. Because what they decided to pay for is not coming out of my pocket. I don’t see what’s the big deal. It’s Her Forum & Her Budget & She made Her budget work!!

Congratulations on Budgeting yourself! Congratulations on having family bless you with help!
I wish you the Best & Beautiful Wedding Day!

I guess if my parents paid for everything at our wedding then I had a free wedding! That’s how it works right?

I'm DIYing my bouquets and all centerpieces with fake flowers. Can you share your flowers from Wal-Mart? I'd love to see what you have in mind!
Might help me come to a decision between doing what I absolutely love from Joanns ( which is a good bit more expensive ) or looking through Wal-Mart's website. Especially now that they are offering free 2-Day shipping 👌

Yea, calling what someone does lame because you aren't in agreeance with it is pretty lame in itself.
I've about had it with this site, as people are so quick to point out how "lame/low class/cheap" something is.
I'm not here to feel bad because I have a super small budget for my wedding. But some of you are so quick to point that out.

Pretty sure it’s against CGs to call something “lame” that you don’t agree with. I reviewed them today. Debating is fine, critiquing other users is not.

OP, congrats at coming in under your personal budget! If possible, could you factor in the costs of the gifted services you’re receiving for other brides that may not get as much help? I’m sure it would be much appreciated! 😊
