30 days left!!

Andrea, on March 4, 2020 at 9:32 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

Hi everyone!!

I can't believe we have exactly 30 days until our big day. Unfortunately, we have a lot of declines but we're not letting it ruin our moods. We invited 132 people and only 83 are going.... Everyone has already responded which is great... but wow.. the turnout was very unexpected and we still are expecting some no showsSmiley sad

April Brides, how is everything coming along for you??

I'm getting super nervous and paying very close attention to details now.

You’ve got this! It’s the most exciting time of your life. Do you think COVID-19 is some of the route cause for the declines?

I think your count overall is perfect, I’ve learned in meeting planning except about 20-30% no show / declines. You’re a little higher, but on track with normal.

    Hey Margaret,

I don't think it has to do with the virus, I think it has to do more with family drama, people making up excuses for not wanting to attend, really ridiculous reasons. Most didn't even give any reasons, just said sorry, can't come. But at the end of the day, me and fiance are happy with who is attending. We expected a certain decline rate because of certain family circumstances but nothing this high. So pretty surprised. But, at the end of the day, it is what it is. It' so close!! Thank you so much for your messageSmiley heart

My rsvp deadline is next Saturday. Still missing alot of rsvps. I printed out a calendar for march to transfer everything from my checklists & to do lists so I can have a visual for deadlines and just how much I need to get done & when.

We have our marriage license, honeymoon booked, passports turned in for renewal, finalized timing with vendors, paid for the ceremony and reception, had my alterations & I pick up the dress in 2 weeks.
I need to buy alcohol and book our bartender.

    Hey Monica,

Yeah I saw your other post about the calendar and I commented! I love that idea!!!

Wow, you're definitely on top of things. We have our honeymoon booked as well, food all secured on our ends. Just have to buy some finishing touches in terms of accessories for my dress. Our daughters still need flats for the wedding (purposely put that off since their feet grow so dang fast). We bought some alcohol but now we have the final numbers so we can have more precise bottles of alcohol, sodas, waters, bags of ice, etc.

    April 11th here!

We are waiting for 100 more people to RSVP yes or no by March 11th. Definitely was expecting more people to RSVP yes but I'm fine with it Smiley smile

I just have the final details to take care of and I'm ready to go!

I’m a little bummed because our RSVPs are lower than expected. Looks like we’ll have just under 50 people for our destination wedding. But the people who haven’t RSVP’d or declined are either experiencing serious health issues or do not have the financial means to travels. I can’t, obviously, be upset about that but I am bummed because I wanted those people there and I’m sad they won’t be part of the celebration.

We still need to finalize our ceremony and get my FH’s band but we are pretty much done.

Yeah we're providing our own. We're having wine on the tables (a red and white), sparkling white and rose wine, two kinds of beer and a signature drink with rum. This way, we're saving a lot of money on alcohol

    Hi Jerri,

I definitely can understand where you're coming from about the RSVPS being lower than expected. I'm sorry to hear that, but I know your wedding is going to be beautiful with the guests that are in attendanceSmiley heart

I totally understand, I'm pretty I will have declines as well. But I look at is, I'll be saving money from the people that are not coming. Better them decline, instead of coming and making your day miserable. Good luck with everything, I am sure it will be great!
