I am nervous about asking people to do rapid testing but my family is assuring me it’s okay due to my condition. I have an autoimmune disorder that can cause me to become very ill if I catch Covid/anything. What are some major precautions you’re all doing the day of wedding?

Yes! 12/12 I am just hoping our state doesn’t shut down! We decided to elope that day either way. Maybe a backyard or forest ceremony if our original venue is closed by state mandates. I’m crossing my fingers things look better and we are able to go through with the plan.

Hey! 12/12 bride here, I am in Indiana our governor came on yesterday and announced we will be limited to no more than 50 people for an event. I had already sent out invitations, gotten my favors, plates, napkins you name it. My heart is absolutely shattered. I am a hairdresser, so every client that has sat in my chair i have had to explain. I don’t think anyone can really relate, but only sympathize because we can all agree this has been a pretty outrageous year! I have been planning for over a year, before covid and everything but do not want to hold my life off for this! Completely re-planning your wedding 28 days out is not for the birds. But, i’ve come to realize it’s not about the big fancy dream wedding it’s so easy to get your mind and heart set on. It’s about your soulmate as well, he will be there with me through it all and i will be just as married on the 12th as i would’ve been normally. We were originally going to have it at our 4-H building because we are both farm grown and it’s a nice area to have your guests seated until the reception. Plans have changed and now we are having it at his family’s church, it will be quaint & simple, we’re just going to have to do what we can. We’ll have one hell of a story to tell our kids, that’s for sure. ♥️

It's a rough place to be in for sure and I can only imagine having to go backwards would make it even rougher. We are on the East coast (outside of DC) so even though we still have restrictions they are nothing like they had been previously. I grew up in MI and my parents still live there and it's totally different out there than it is here in VA. We are getting married in NC and when we postponed back in March from June to December FH and I both agreed that we knew a smaller wedding would be the only way December would be possible. We started scaling back in August by sending out letters to all of our yes RSVP's asking for re-confirmation. Guest count for us went from 150 to 68 currently, we both think by wedding day it will be 55-65. We will have a more intimate wedding and for sure one to talk about for the rest of our lives. I'm sure your wedding day will still be the happiest and most beautiful day and even better because you are marrying the love of your life and have (I MIGHT be biased) the BEST Wedding Day Twins Ever!! Smiley heart Smiley xd Smiley ring

Fingers crossed for all of us 12/12 couples that we can still have our celebrations regardless of what they look like on that day. I don't think states will shut down again as long as Thanksgiving doesn't make things go literally crazy. I know we are having a low key T-Day due to Covid and my son having minor out patient surgery that week. Stay positive and keep planning!! Smiley ring

I can say that IMO I would take a Rapid test for sure with no questions for your health and safety!! Do not feel bad asking guests to take one, if they know and care about you they will not have any issues with this one simple, albeit slightly uncomfortable, test!

We are asking our guests to take a Rapid test prior to arriving and we also cut our list down from 150 to 55-65 by wedding day. We will be giving each guests 2 masks as well as their own hand sanitizer. We will be taking temperature's at the door of all events including rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and ceremony. All of our stationary aside from the place cards, will be listed on our wedding website and guests can access these with a QR code I made so they will not be handling separate pieces of paper. The QR code will be on a sticker on their welcome bag and also on two large posters we are setting up for them to scan. Masks will be required at ceremony and we will space guests with two seats between couples and empty rows between guest rows. Cocktail hour as well as reception will be in a space that seats 200+ and will have a veranda with heat lamps for more space. We are seating 6-8 people per table (8 table's are family who have been together). Hand sanitizer will be at the bar as well as guest book/gift table and we have enough pen's for each guest to use once.

We are doing what we can and we hope our day is safe and fun for everyone.

Wow! You have taken the best caution ever. I’m going to have to make some serious changes. I feel so behind on everything! Everyone is also telling me they believe everything will shut down again so I’m even more paranoid. Hopefully we will all be getting married on 12/12!

I'm getting married on 12/12/2020 too! We're going to have a private ceremony with immediate family and then have our closest friends and family come to the reception. Our venue is large enough that everyone can be socially distance, but still be able to talk, enjoy some food, and see everything going on! Gosh. I can't believe its so close now!

My girls are wearing champagne/gold/blush and the guys are wearing navy blue suits with a red tie! I like that a lot of us are doing gold and red for the most wonderful time of the year! 🥂❄️🌲

We are almost done. Just fixing some last minute issues with vendors and figuring out how to set up zoom for those who can't make it due to Covid concerns. Besides that pretty much done!

Ugh, our state just closed down theaters and performing art centers. We were set to have 40 people in a huge historic theater. We are scrambling to make outdoor (heated arrangements) before our date. Considering just putting it off until Spring as all of fate has suggested we do Smiley ups .

My state just shutdown all venues - so we are pivoting and having a very small wedding, just family and 5 friends in a church with a reception following in our garage... You do what you gotta do. I always said I wanted an intimate wedding - wasn't thinking 30 people haha but here we are Smiley winking

We were planning to have a 34 person reception, but because of the rising numbers in my state, we're having to decide whether or not to postpone our reception. We were already planning to have a private ceremony with both of our parents and my brothers (my older brother being the one to marry us since he's the reason we met), so max we would have 13 people total at the reception.

Same. We are going to still try and have the small ceremony on 12/12 and then have an outdoor reception in spring. Just scrambling to find a venue since ours shut down.

I’m sorry to hear y’all had to cancel! We were able to hold our 12/12 wedding however we had 32 on attendance including ourselves. We got married in NC and our venue was considered a conference center so we were lucky. Best wishes on your new wedding date!! We were originally June 27th so December 12th was our postponement date.

Oh wow! I didn’t know that. Well I am so happy you were able to have yours! How many were you expecting to attend? We are expecting over 200 in April. Fingers crossed it’ll happen!
