2Nd year of marriage > 1 year

OldSchoolKindaLove, on January 14, 2020 at 5:59 PM Posted in Married Life 0 6

Our 2nd year of marriage is off to a much better start! We have even bought our dream home! Despite the moving process being tiring (since it's the 3rd move in a year) it's all going well! To everyone else having a hectic, heartbreaking, tear shedding, horrible first year of marriage....It can get better with patience, time, counseling, and lots of prayer.

I can honestly say, I am so relieved to have our first year of marriage and our first anniversary behind us....phew! For those of you who saw my previous posts you can understand why. Since our "uncelebrated" 1 year anniversary, I can say things have gotten better. We did counseling, we discussed issues which were uncomfortable (to say the least), and even are able to have disagreements without the topic of divorce coming up.

I want to thank those who sent words of encouragement my way. Can't wait to celebrate year 2. Hopefully in the next few years, a vow renewal or wedding anniversary redo photo shoot is in our future.

Thanks everyone! We have started discussing perhaps doing a vow renewal in a few years. I think we will benefit from having a much smaller vow renewal since our wedding was so big. We did get our wedding video, and neither one of us realized exactly how many guests we had until we watched it. I guarantee we had 200+ guests at our ceremony, which our venue did not have the capacity for. We had several guests standing around the ceremony area, a lot of non- RSVP's and word of mouth invitations, we guess. People we didn't send invitations to showed up (crazy right?)

I know a vow renewal will never replace our wedding day, but I think reaffirming our vows to one another in a more intimate setting ( and fewer guests) will be beneficial to us.
