Cheryl&rock, on May 18, 2019 at 8:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 21
Omg! It's really happening! I'm marrying the man I adore!
Everything is coming together! Everyone has their wedding attire! Floral arrangements are done. I'm finishing up the centerpieces. Venue, DJ, and Photographer are up to speed.
Rooms have been booked.
Now for the cake to make a two hour trip in one piece!!!
I'm so excited and nervous at the same time!!!
I can't believe it's less than a month away!!!

I’ve been waiting to see your BAM. You guys seem like such a sweet couple. The last 30 days are the toughest. Take walks, give each other a massage, try to not stress over the details. Almost there!

    Hi Pirate!!!
It's crazy the nervous tension. It's more than originally finding the vendors. The anticipation, wanting everything to go right. I think it's the things I can't control that make me crazy!
I'm still not sure how to do my hair.
I've been playing around with different hairstyles. My hair is almost to my butt now, and I want to have it long and curly in the back. I think I may do some braiding on the sides and bring them to the back with wispy curls on the side of my face. That's what I think right now!! That could change any minute now!!! Lol

Yes!!! The dress I finally decided on I love so much! I finally feel like a bride in it!! It's not what I had originally thought I wanted!!!
Tomorrow a friend of mine is coming over and we're finishing the table centerpieces!!
I have to steam my dress. I can walk by it without saying "I love you" to it!!!
    God, I can hardly wait!!!
I can picture Rock standing up there in his white tux. I know I'm going to cry and I think he will too!
    I'm so lucky!!!!

Yep, it's been a crazy road, but we're almost there. We had a scare too regarding a mass in his lung. As it turned out after an MRI it turned out that the xray was not read accurately! Scared the two of us to death!!! What a relief!!!!
As for me, I have to have a total knee replacement. That won't be done until July 9th. We'll be back from our honeymoon in NC and somewhat settled in.
Now to write my vows!! I thought it would be easy, but putting how I feel into words is not a simple task. Words don't do justice.

What a worry that must have been! Glad he is all right! As for your knee: Generally people do not get knee replacements for life tire wear and tear ( as opposed to a sudden accident), unless they are in regular pain, or difficulty walking. I had one done at 35, too many years of hiking these mountains, and others, with heavy packs. And too muck lifting, farm work ( up and down lower mountain ridges) and years of nursing and PT lift and rotate with someone else's weight on you. So it was joint wear and tear like a sixty year old. I used pain pills 1 of 3 days in the hospital, then extra strength Tylenol for a week, then, nothing. No pain in the last 3 years. And in my pregnancy with twins months before the surgery, my knees bothered me worse than my bladder. Since done, the only thing that takes getting used to is that the knee replacement is like a hinge. It swings out and back, flexes and returns, but does not twist while doing it. Tendon and ligament attachments will not stretch and return to hold it if you twist while bending. And try not to take steps that are knee height or higher, then pull yourself up, like to get in and out of a truck bed, or hike. Pain free, truly a wonder. Not like the ones of not too many years back that I remember, that limited movement more, with frequent swelling or soreness. If you are lucky, AND YOU ARE OVERDUE for good luck, you will wonder, why didn't I do this sooner? ... Don't agonize over vows. Simple, less is more. Lots of people end up nervous enough with people listening, that they drop what was intended after a sentence or two. I messed up before coming down the aisle, the only mistake in my wedding. If lifted my gown with 1 hand, a little, stepped out to come down the grand curving staircase...barefoot. To the amusement of all. Forgot to put on my shoes. MOH got them for me. But though the audience was shaking with laughter, quietly, we all held it together. Til vows. Then hubby started to laugh, I started to laugh. And he said, I'll take her anyways. I said, me too. . . . So much for a week writing and editing vows. Enjoy these last weeks. 😊

I loved your post!!! You can't beat candid moments! That is a memory to treasure!!! I'm trying to tell myself that now is the time to stir back and relax. At the end I will be married to my guy!!
As for my knee, thank you for the encouraging words. I'm 68 so I figure some of my parts are due for replacement!! Afterall they didn't come with a lifetime warranty...lol...

I know, right?! The stress of the last 30 days is unreal. Just remember, the end of the day nobody will remember your decor details or accessories. They'll remember the overall venue, food/drinks and if they had a good time and if you both did.

    Smiley love

The hairstyle you're describing sounds amazing. YESSSSSSS.
