2021 Wedding

You are definitely not alone. We have a photographer and have been looking into DJ's as well as Venus. I have not found the dress I love yet. I don't feel like any planning is to soon when it comes to our big day. I'd rather have everything planned and paid for a year in advance then to have to settle bc of last minute decisions 😂

We are ! And not uNtil December either. I already have a photographer , already finding and venue and doing cake tastings. A lot
of the venues if you plan this early will give you a bunch of stuff for free or better deals.

Hey Christina I feel the same way and I haven’t accomplished as much as you lol. I’ve always known my color scheme and dress style, and we have a list of venue options to see but nothing is secured yet. What was the first detail you guys confirmed?

I'm officially a 2021 bride also! We got engaged Dec 8th 2018 and we put a deposit down on our venue today! July 15, 2021. So excited to have time to save and that we locked in to 2019/2020 pricing! This is the 2nd marriage for both of us. Starting to look at other vendors but haven't booked anything. Our goal is to save $500 per month for 30 months (15K) and hope that covers everything, including our honeymoon. We're saving 30% per person for having our wedding on a Thursday night. That's $2500 savings! Being this is the 2nd time for us, certain things are more important to us than others. Don't get too caught up in the little stuff. Enjoy your planning!

I am so excited to finally have that settled and I know that it is way too early but I ordered our STD's today from Vistaprint. They have a 50% off sale that ends tonight and it was just too tempting...I had to order something! And I figured that STD's were a safe choice.

Hi! I'm so glad I am not the only one! We already booked our venue and the DJ! We also just chose our caterer :-) my FH also ordered our cake topper already too Haha. We are trying to get ahead of the game so we dont stress about it later on.. we want to be prepared. Good luck with your planning!

I'm also getting married in 2021, and already have 99% of the planning done and confirmed. Now I just have to pick a dress, and bridesmaids dresses, and I'm golden! It's so exciting, but also very low-stress because all the big stuff is decided. The hard part is WAITING now! But I have a very demanding work and college schedule, so my mind is kept busy. I do love looking at the countdown...just over 950 days! We're waiting that long so that I'll graduate with my Bachelor's degree and not have my schooling take up such a massive part of my time, and it gives us time to save, save, save for a house.

The BIG advantage to planning way early is that you have time to arrange a plan B if anything unexpectedly changes (like the venue or caterer going out of business, drastic weight changes requiring a different dress, people on your guest list either increasing or decreasing, there's a lot to consider. Having 2 years wiggle room really makes it very low-stress.

I got engaged New Years Eve 2018...or technically New Years day 2019 haha... I have been planning and researching non-stop! You are NOT the only one!

Getting married July 2021! We have secured the venue, DJ & photographer. I'm driving myself wild thinking about centerpieces.. I need to slow down.

Well we had our first bump in the road! We reserved our venue for 5/21/21 but then the woman in charge of that called and said that she made a mistake. We thought that we could do a rental differently than what was listed on the paperwork but we couldn't. Long story short, rentals run from Friday to Monday so having a Friday wedding was no longer going to work since I wanted to have the day before to set up. So we switched our date to Saturday May 8, 2021. And the added bonus to the new date is that I'm now going to do my own flowers since we're getting married over Mother's Day weekend and there will be flowers literally everywhere for sale! I'm not doing anything crazy just a few bouquets and maybe a few boutonnieres but that will still save us some money.

I had to order new STD's too since our date changed and I went with a different design and decided on a new color scheme. The old color scheme was getting on my nerves anyway and I was having trouble envisioning things with it.

Got engaged on 4/20/19. Were getting married on 12/21/21. I have gone from my dress to goomsmen and im just thankful ive got 2 years of planning. But i dont see the harm in requesting venues and photographers, music and what not might as well plan a head of time

I think that's awesome! I don't think it's ever really too early to do anything. I'm getting married Sept 2020 and I'm about to put my deposit down on the venue at the end of this month and I'm so excited! It makes it feel so much more real, and having a set date and place makes me able to go and plan everything else. It'll make you much less stressed in the long run as well.
