2021 brides - what are your honeymoon plans??? Our wedding date is 6/5/21 and not sure where to go since most countries are closed to American citizens. Where are you going and if you booked out of the country did you use a travel agent?
We are going to a resort in St. Lucia. We did not book through a travel agent since the resort has pretty standard pricing and it wouldn't have made a difference whether we booked through an agent or not (maybe we would have received a free gift or service, but I just couldn't be bothered to research that, Lol).
My wedding is in July 2021 and we aren't officially booking anything till maybe a few months before our wedding. We are planning on going to Hawaii in 2022, we don't feel comfortable traveling out of the country so we are sticking with Hawaii and thinking Spring or Summer 2022 for the honeymoon but we will be booking everything ourselves.
Wedding date twins!!! 🥰. We were really hoping to go to Greece for 10 days! But i am not holding out for that happening, had it all planned out with our travel agent. Thinking maybe a Cali road trip for our next option...
Our wedding is in October of this year and we are going to wait it out before making any decisions. Maybe til July / August since everything is changing. We are likely going to go to Aspen or Wine Country in California.
Our wedding is in November and we are waiting to book anything to see how things are going. We wanted to do an Alaskan cruise the following May, but cruises aren’t really ideal right now so we have a couple of backups. I think I’d probably stay in the state though!
We live on the California coast, are getting married this April, and are renting a cabin up at Big Bear Lake (about 5hrs away) for a week for our honeymoon. Simple and quiet, but with the lake and plenty of hiking trails nearby if we want to leave the cabin. The biggest thing about the honeymoon is to just enjoy each other and your new marriage. Personally, I wouldn't want to take a big trip to a different country because I would be torn between wanting to go out and explore said country and wanting to stay in and explore.... well, you know! A lot of my married friends suggest something low-key and private for a honeymoon with a bigger trip for a 5 or 10 year anniversary anyway.
I’m a September 25th bride and we’re planning on a domestic mini moon (driving distance) right after, but tabling any international travel until we could have a relatively normal travel experience and we’re both vaccinated.
Our wedding was supposed to be next week and our honeymoon was going to be the week after but we had to postpone. We were (and still are, next year) going to a resort in St. Lucia. We booked our honeymoon straight through the Sandals Resorts company.
We’re planning to go to Bora Bora but have postponed this to 2022. We’ll do a mini moon in Palm Springs likely or wine country in central or northern CA.
We never really had a plan for an official honeymoon, but we know we want to plan a big trip to Alaska soon so I think if that works out that will be our "honeymoon." I know Alaska isn't technically out of the country, but it still requires quite a bit of travel time, so if that doesn't work for whatever reason, we'll likely do a road trip to a state we haven't visited yet.
Our wedding is June 12, 2021 in Massachusetts and we leave the day after for our honeymoon in the Maldives. I booked our trip myself through Orbitz and highly recommend combined hotel and flight packages, as you save a lot this way. We are well traveled and of the opinion that travel agents are mostly waste of money these days. There are plenty of other international destinations that are allowing American travelers. For ours, we need to show a negative covid test a few days before we leave, and again before we return home.
We had originally booked a cruise to the Bahamas, but decided we won't be going. I get my vaccine tomorrow but the Honey has opted not to get one, and he doesn't really have to time to quarantine responsibly from heavy traveling.
We're looking at something lowkey — Sanibel Island or possibly Destin? Somewhere not terribly crowded or tourist-y... just to get away and have some fun in the sun.
I'm in a similar position. May wedding, planning to leave three days after for Costa Rica. I'm so nervous that one of us catches COVID during the wedding though and can't go, or that we get it while there and can't leave!
