Any 2020 brides already have your dress? I’m getting married June 2020 and while it seems so far away, I guess it really isn’t! I’m wondering when I should start looking for my dress? WW checklist says 12-10 months out, but my friends say 9-7 months out is fine. My taste changes a lot so I’m just...

WW checklist says 12-10 months out, but my friends say 9-7 months out is fine. My taste changes a lot so I’m just scared of buying a dress early and then hating it a few months later!

I am a March 2020 bride and I actually purchased my dress this weekend. I was told it can take 7 to 10 for the dress to arrive ( varies by designer) and could take up to 16 weeks for alterations. I wanted to make sure that I gave myself a little extra time just in case more alterations need to be made.

I got mine this January and we are getting married March of 2020. I was even able to find it on the clearance rack!

I go in for a dress fitting next January, then go in for my second appointment in February to see how the changes she made fit me, she'll fix everything I want to be fixed and have me come in the week of my wedding to make sure it still fits properly, if she needs to make any changes I'll go in for my final fitting two days before my wedding and will get to take it home that day if all looks good!

Oh wow you have so long until you get to wear it again! Do you have the dress with you at home so you can at least take peeks of it until January?

I was told 10-7 is the sweet spot but I bought mine at 14. I was watching for ideas, and found an amazing dress at a crazy deal (90% off!!!) A few times I've seen dresses and partially regreted buying mine so soon. Especially because I feel like it was such an exciting thing and it seems like sooooo long. But in the end I'm happy with my gown and can't wait for FH to see it

I got my dress 12 months out and am still absolutely in love with it!

If you're worried about your taste changing I would say wait closer to the 7 months!

I'm getting married next October, and I have not started shopping yet. For a while I was saying "November is the month," and now I'm thinking like January... #procrastinating
