2 months to go and unorganized

Gabrielle, on September 6, 2020 at 7:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 26
We get married in two months and I haven’t finished buying decorations for the reception, or picked a makeup artist, or chosen a hairstyle, or my shoes or flowers. Feeing stressed out and unorganized. 😔😔

Take a deep breath and relax. MUA are pretty easy to find and check amazon for decorations. Google or look on Pinterest for hairstyles. Try not to stress too much!

Take it one day/task at a time! Maybe set only one task per day - focus on finding a hair/makeup artist one day (especially with the amount of people postponing this year, there should be many with open calendars!), look for shoes another day, decide on a hairstyle another day, etc. Also be sure to add in breaks and take time for yourself - wedding planning can be overwhelming. You will get everything done in time, and your wedding will be great! Best wishes!

I am right there with you! Decided we're keeping our date 11/13/20 (Engaged 11/13/19). Did not book DJ, Flowers, Makeup, veil, etc.. and going to barely do our engagement photos in 2 weeks. A little overwhelming but I try to do 1 thing a day even if its small. Like buy our champagne flutes, buying cake serving set, card box, etc... Hang in there! Any wedding this year will not be what we expected or 1st envisioned so I've learned to go with the flow! ❤

I agree with all of the previous posts. I’m recommend writing down everything you need to do. Then, like Lisa said, take a task one day at a time. I’d add those tasks to a calendar so I can see what I need to do and when. I’d do my best to have everything done no later than 3 weeks before your wedding. Set a deadline to get all of these things done and work backwards from there to schedule your tasks. I’d schedule one task a day every 2 to 3 days or so so you automatically build in your much-needed breaks from planning. calendar. If you need an accountability partner to encourage you to follow the calendar, share your calendar with a bridesmaid or friend that loves wedding planning who would love to help along the way. You can do this!! 😊

I am going to be the one to stress you out and I apologize lol. I would sit down and book a hair and make up artist today or tomorrow. There are plenty but remember many brides that were getting married in the spring postponed their ceremonies and many did for the fall so you want to book one ASAP. I would say if you have a hair dresser you like then just use her. I would have for mine but she is closed Sundays so I went with a company that does both. The good thing is let them choose a style for you. Tell them your ideas and what you want and let them try out a few things on you. You could also look at Pineterst for hair ideas and make up as that was helpful for me and I could share that with my make up artist.

Now the decorations, shoes and flowers are easier Smiley winking. I would maybe tomorrow or early next week look for a florist just to get pricing. As others have said decorations you can easily get through Amazon or sites like wedding favors unlimited or e favor mart and they ship fairly fast. Do what you can and take it day by day but I would start this week just in case shipping takes awhile.

Ya know some people work best under pressure. A friend of mine planned an entire wedding in 6 weeks so you are way ahead of the ball game in that aspect. Maybe the pressure, while annoying, might be the push to get things done and you will get things done. No worries. Smiley smile

Helpful pointer: when looking for decorations online, make sure you are not ordering from a company overseas (especially China). Mail is taking FOREVER!! The last thing I ordered from China took 9 weeks!! I also recently ordered a product from the UK, which took 5 weeks.

I would also suggest nailing down your floral ideas and speaking with the florist ASAP. Depending on what you need, it may take a while to get flowers in. My florist requires 3 weeks to order my flowers.

Ok so my wedding is in little over a month we just settled on flowers to use a few days ago, picked out my hairstyle yesterday, and I have to redo the music list since my computer deleted the one I had. Oh and I still have to order the tuxes. So deep breaths you've got this!

IMO you need to make a list and then organize it by level of priority. Some things, like booking any vendor not yet booked, needs to be done ASAP. At this point it may be really difficult to even find someone you like...so honestly you just need to get on that.

Everything else can be broken down into categories, make a list, and just check it off as you go.
