Anybody else thinking of getting 2 dresses? (If I mention 2 dresses to FH I do get a bit of an eye roll, ha) I'm thinking about just getting a short party type dress for the reception. I'm thinking about just getting a short party type dress for the reception. Maybe a dress out of ModCloth's wedding attire. Not sure yet. I wonder if it would be a hassle to slip away after the post ceremony photos and try and change real quickly. Thoughts? Are any of you ladies changing into a different dress after the ceremony?

I wanted a second dress but I wanted to keep on the dress I fell in love and will have spent the most money on. I want to get more bang for the buck, if that makes sense.

You're only wearing one dress for such a short time already, why cut that time in half??

Nope. I love my dress way too much to take it off for another.

I love my dress, and it was important for me to be comfortable in it. I only get one day to wear it. I don't want to change!

Fuck no. I'm not spending $1500 on a dress to not wear it all day. Like why bother.

One dress! I spent way too much money on my dress to not wear it all night.

I only had one dress. I can't stomach spending so much on one dress I'm only wearing for some pictures and a 30 minute ceremony

I am doing two dresses. They are quick to change between so I will change while guests are being seated for dinner.

No way. My dress is way too expensive and way too pretty to not wear the whole night

I have 2 dresses, the first one is a blush ball gown for the ceremony and the second is a more sexy and elegant, more comfortable yvory dress for the reception.

@greenebunny you're good, you are making the best use out of that dress and taking off the overskirt will be far less time-consuming than entirely changing

One dress! I love my dress and I want to make sure everyone gets to see all the detail up close that makes it beautiful (which they wouldn't see during the ceremony) plus, it was an investment!

We got a real dj for the reception (translation one that plays clubs and mixes etc) so I plan on dancing and can't in my wedding dress, so yes I plan on two but can't seem to find what I want at moment.

What I have seen before is wearing a short dress with a tulle skirt over for the ceremony and removing the skirt for the reception. It was beautiful both ways!

Thought of doing this.....then I quickly realized how much money I'm spending on my dress to not wear it the whole night. I will be bringing a white dress I purchased from macys on sale years ago in case I want to change since we're having an after party, but I cannot drop more than $50 on another dress.
