1st fitting...oh no...back fat...with pictures.

Heidi, on August 12, 2014 at 2:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 26

Anyone know exercises that will help with the back fat? Besides that I think the dress looks good.

EVERYONE has back fat - even the skinniest of the skinnies. I think you look great! But Miss to Mrs mentioned some good exercises.

Push ups. I seriously don't know why people don't do more of them. They work your core, shoulders, back, and arms. I do them off of the hood of my car every other day because I'm weak Smiley winking

It is actually from when you put your dress on. You have your shoulders up while holding the front as they close the back. So when they are done, it causes your skin to do back fat. Some people will push the skin back down in the dress. Every bride gets it.

It's not fat. It's just your skin being forced and pushed into unnatural formats. Loosen the dress a bit or have someone push it back in. The strapless dress trend can be unforgiving on even the most tiny of women. You are not a large lady, OP.

I think you really need to have whomever is helping you into your dress just push the skin on your back to the sides and down. Like Ashley said everyone gets it and its mostly skin. In order for your dress to fit your ribs and bust there is going to be some spillage in the back. My seamstress showed me and one of my BM's how to really get it out of there. Take your first two fingers on both hands and stick them in the middle of your back at the top of your dress. Then push them out to the sides. I hope that makes sense.

I agree with the tactic of loosening the dress at the top. You can keep it tight at the waist/ribcage area to keep it from falling while still loosening up at the top to stop your skin from getting bunched in.

If you have a gym, reverse flies, the row machine, side lifts and front lifts with weights (arms straight up and down) and bent over row.

Thank you girls so much for this advice. I have been feeling like a huge fatty! Not that I'm small, and my dress is a little tight, but I'm sure this trick will help!

I was also going to suggest the rowing machine. Or...if you live in an area with water...actually get out and row! Kayaking, row boat, swimming, etc. Pretty dress, it looks great on you.

I think you look very beautiful in your picture!!! Seriously, gorgeous! But if you are going to try and lose weight beforehand (I am too, girl!) especially in the back area, keep in mind that only doing workouts in that area will simply gain muscle in the area, not make the fat there go down. In order to lose weight in your back, you need to reduce your body fat percentage, which means interval training plus strength training (that's the best/fastest way)! What I've been doing is running or doing the stairs at the gym, going back and forth every minute between low speed/level & high speed/level for about 20 minutes...then going and doing some basic weight training! Nothing too crazy or too heavy of weights, cause you don't want to get too jacked, but doing both of those things, if you do want to slim your back before the big day, will really help out!!

Push ups, upright rows, dumbell rows...anything that gets those shoulders together!

I had an issue with that in my dress. I took my bra off and, like magic, it was gone. I'm just gonna get cups sewn in. But like the others have said, you have to adjust your skin once your dress is on regardless. Also, after wearing the dress for a hour or so, it will be a little more forgiving in that aspect.

I don't see it honestly but if you want to tone your back, push-ups and rows are the way!

Push ups doesn't real train back. It primarily trains chest and triceps with some benefits to deltoids (& core but many exercises also incorporate core strength).

Pull ups will be your best friend for a nice sexy back. Include back exercises that hit your traps, lats, and teres minor/major. Your rest period between each set 30-60 sex max. Make sure you super set for best results. However, you need to do HIIT (high intensity interval training) in order to burn body fat. HIIT is best for fat loss. Combine that with clean eating and you're going to have a fab back.

Remember consistency is key. You're not going to get results unless you're patient and willing to do the work.

    Good luck!!!
