Hi Everyone!

I am newly engaged in the Tampa Bay (Florida) area and have never been a planner when it comes to things like a wedding! Very overwhelmed to say the least, but we are having difficulty knowing if $15k is going to be, realistically, enough for a guest list of 100 - 150. We are torn between cutting our guest list down to have a great venue/caterer, or settling on a venue/caterer to have everyone we want be able to come! There has to be a happy medium somewhere?! Any advice will be SO much appreciated! I wish I loved the "barnyard" look as much as most Floridians do, but I just am not thrilled about it. Looking for more modern/ country club style (I think).

Thanks again in advance!!

Congratulations! I'm also in Tampa. I'm thinking my wedding at Tampa Palms Country Club in New Tampa is going to be about $18-20k for a little over a 100 people. I think you might need to cut your guest list some too get down to your $15k. When we first started this, we were clueless and thought we were going to host 100+ people for $10k. Ha!

But anyway, for the feel your wanting, check out Tampa Palms Country Club. It's absolutely beautiful and tell Cathie that Sara from October 2018 sent you.

I have seen on here time and time again and experienced it myself...its so hard to stick to the initial budget. Things you originally forgot about or thought u didnt need willllllll come up. So cut the guest list. And expect that 15 to turn into 17. If it doesnt, u just made 2k Smiley smile

When it comes to the guest list, less is more. With less guests you can host them properly and you get to spend more time with them as well.

My son paid roughly 25k for 110 (although there were about 25 no shows, they had already paid for everyone) in the Orlando area. They were not missing out on anything etiquette wise, and it was really nice. It was held at NOAH'S Event Venue.

I'm in GA and have spent about $12k on my wedding for 200 people.. It is possible.. Just finding deals helps. I just found things to cut back on that weren't important to me.. Flowers, sales on decor and paper products.. Our catering is $11pp and is a buffet instead of black tie. Just look for the best deals, and you might be able to pull it off.

Hello! I'm also from Tampa. 15k is doable, it you'd have to keep it closer to 100max. My FH & I decided on an all-inclusive venue in Brandon (outdoor, not a barn). We had our second to last meeting today & I can say that it's been so stress free. I'd definitely say to invite those family members that are near & dear to you. I know it's hard, but it's possible, especially if you've got a very large family (I do!). A tip would be to invite those that are always attend family gatherings. Also, when seeing venues, give them an estimate amount of guests that's smaller (like those that you know will actually come). FH & I paid for 75, but know we'll have abouy 100 attend. It's better to owe the venue money, than to pay for a bunch of people that aren't attending.

We are getting married @ Living Sculptures Sanctuary. It’s $1500 for the venue (ceremony and reception) including 10 tables. Alcohol is BYO so we’ll save a lot of money. Very simple DIY flowers...

Sure. It was in a small town on Lake Ontario called Sodus Point (my mom lives there). We had the reception at Marlin's restaurant. We were supposed to be at Captain Jack's, but it flooded the week before and we got moved. I'm not sure that they rent out Marlin's currently, but the owners and the menu are basically the same at both locations. Food was awesome, and everyone had a fantastic time.

My budget is $15k and I will be having 100 guests at my wedding. Outdoor venue with koi pond, bonsai, and gorgeous orchids everywhere. Venue costed alone $4k and same price for both photographer and videographer. Dress budget is between $1.5k and $2k leaving us with about $5k for catering discounted by friend(buffet $12/pp), alcohol(Costco), flowers(hydrangea centerpieces making it cheaper), and rentals(getting help from wedding planner who gets discounted rates). I will post what my end result budget is. Our venue let’s us bring our own alcohol and catering company which helps reduce the cost a ton. You will have a very hard time paying only $15k for a ballroom at a hotel or country club. They only allow from in-house catering and alcohol but, it’ll be easy to plan! Also, I wish I knew this before picking my venue but, wedding planners can possibly give you a more discounted venue price.
