11/11 wedding?

Nicolina, on June 27, 2020 at 8:04 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

Is an 11/11 wedding considered rude because it’s Veterans Day? I remember so many people got married on 11/11/11 and it was a really popular wedding date.

My dad is a retired disabled veteran and my fiancé is a disabled veteran. I personally would not be upset over that date, neither would my dad or FH. I would say if you have any veterans to maybe honor then with a veterans dance (including widows/widowers of veterans) or something like that? But if you don’t have any veterans coming to the wedding then no one will think twice about it.

Ooh, I like the idea of the veterans dance at the reception

And I agree that it wouldn’t be taboo or rude to get married on Veterans Day.

My mom got married on 11/11/11. No one thought twice about it.
I love the idea of doing a veterans dance.

I think of a wedding as a fun day to celebrate and what a fun way to celebrate a holiday!

I think it would be fine! Maybe do a donation to a veteran's benefitting foundation (local VA, etc.) in lieu of favors?
