1 tier purpose? Let's see those veils!

Rebecca, on April 18, 2016 at 8:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15

Thought, what's the purpose of a one tier veil? Do you put it over your face or do you need a 2 tier/blusher?

I'm trying to pick so I'd love to see pics of any style!

I found a 1 tier that's perfect but I do want a traditional "unveiling". I'm trying to find something similar on etsy (slim, comes down in a "v" shape)

Yes you will need a blusher and then your escort down the aisle will unveil you - fold it behind your head -and hand you to you FH. There are loads on etsy. Try some on in store to see the length and style you want before you buy as many won't take Returns.

I think one tier is very popular. I'm doing a more custom two tier veil as I have a small birthmark I would like to cover so it's offering extra coverage on my back. It's not a blusher though. Sadly I likely won't want to keep it on all night, but at least for the ceremony and pictures I may feel a little more comfortable.

They have Velcro add in blushers but i just hate to have it bulky.

Flipping a 1 tier over your face isn't a valid option though right?! Seriously I feel ridiculous even asking but I've really wondered!

The 'unveiling' requires either a blusher with your veil or a 2 tier veil that doubles as a blusher. Their are blushers that can be pinned to your veil and removed easily. Not bulky like the velcro. Etsy is great. Depending on where you live there may be a bridal salon that has or can order them as well.

I am not doing an unveiling. We have lived together over 5 years and have a child together.

My veil is only one tier.

This is mine, also one tier. But as PPs have mentioned, I didn't do an "unveiling", so I only needed one tier.

You definitely wear a one-tier behind the head. The only time I've seen a veil that was ONLY over the face and not behind the head was with a birdcage, which is a different fabric and style from most veils.

ETA - if you want it to fall to a point like that, look at angel and cascade-cut veils.

AHHHH @VC Holy GORGEOUS photo of you!!!!

OP, as the others have said, if you want a layer over your face, you need a 2 tier or a blusher. I went to a wedding recently where the bride pulled her 1 tier veil over her hair and it looked so weird! Poor thing.. I dont think she realised how awkward it would look. She had a veil over her face but then nothing hanging down the back when she walked down the aisle Smiley atonished

I'm doing an "unveiling" but only want one tier at the reception. My blusher is detachable for after the ceremony

I'm only doing one tier, as I don't want my face covered. If I wanted my face covered, I'd add a blusher.

I'm doing a single tier veil (no blusher) as sort of a technicality :p. But it has to be long because of my dress - for ceremony and pics only.

You can definitely wear a one tier with an unveiling. The type of veil is called a drop veil, my favorite!

I'm also doing a one tier. I don't want anything covering or around my face. I just can't stand it! I'm wearing mine behind the head.
