Our officiant just sent us a draft of different options for our ceremony. In the readings, one option is 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. I love this reading but don't really carry much religious belief myself, nor does my FH (although we both have family who do). Is it wrong to include it? Is it way way...

Are you including it?

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.

I love it! I plan to incorporate it into my vows. I read it somewhere not to settle for someone if you cant truthfully replace the word "love" (and where "it" stands in this version) with the name of the person you're interested in. It stuck with me, and it is a good standard to hold a future spouse to!

For example, "FH is patient, FH is kind. FH does not envy, FH does not boast, FH is not proud. FH is not rude, FH is not self-seeking, FH is not easily angered, FH keeps no records of wrongs. FH does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth. FH always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres."

I love the scripture and I know it tends to be overused so I found a song about it I'll have the church soloist sing so it's still incorporated in a different way
