+1 annoyance

There are only 5-6 single people that are on the list so if they have a SO at the time we’ll handle it then. 2 of those have talked about not wanting a relationship til they graduate which is in 2+ years and most everyone else has a SO. I’m not going to take the small amount of friends and family we have off the list to leave room for plus ones “just in case.”

Yikes.
we aren’t dealing with that, we gave every person a plus one.
so far I had one friend reach out to say she’s coming and is mad that her ex won’t let her bring her TWO kids to it. I was like oh. Uh don’t worry because no kids, minus our own.
I just had to laugh.
Anddd then I started to freak out. What if other people just show up with their kids 😭

My dad keeps doing this too!! It's so annoying. He's joking, but he's said stuff like, "what if I have a wife by then? You won't let me bring her?" (my wedding is 4 months away. like, stop that.) I "jokingly" told him that if he brings a random woman, we won't have a seat for her, and it'd be rude of him to bring her when she'd have to sit outside. Luckily my family is laid back and we can say things like that too each other!! Haha.

My venue only can hold 100 people and we invited more than that (most of our family and friends are traveling from out of state so not everyone will be able to make it). We invited significant others of our friends by name instead of messing around with any +1 business. I'm so nervous about people showing up with a random +1, causing our actual friends or family members to be literally out of a seat. My RSVP is on our weddingwire website, so I wrote "due to the intimate nature of our venue, one seat will be reserved per named guest." on the page where they RSVP.

One of my cousins isn't coming to our wedding because we didn't invite her boyfriend..... that I've never met... I explained to my aunt, who tried to go to bat for her, that we were drawing the line at married or engaged couples only. No exceptions.

Thankfully we didn't though because we heard of his behavior at a recent family wedding and it wasn't good. He was drunk the whole weekend and my cousin had to practically carry him into their Uber back tot the hotel.
