My fiance and I choose this date in early August of 2018 when we first got engaged. We knew we wanted to get married in August of 2020, and this second Saturday of the month worked best for our schedules. We had no pull towards this date for the double numbers, but it is pretty neat!

I Googled our date for fun tonight and found the following. I thought it would be something fun for others sharing our date!

"August 8, 2020: In the Chinese culture the number 8 symbolizes success and prosperity so seeing that this day is 8-8-2020, a double 8 is extremely lucky for a couple’s first day as husband and wife!"

We got engaged on August 4th 2018. FH's sister was getting married in 2019 so we wanted to wait a year so family that has to travel doesn't have to do it too close together. We also wanted a date close to our engagement date!

We wanted to get married later in the year and when we started looking at venues and the dates that were available, one of those dates was 8/8 and when I saw that i thought it was perfect because that's the anniversary of my grandmothers death and I thought it would be a good way to honor her and have her be apart of my wedding.

That's cool, I learned something knew. 8/8/20, was not our first pick when we first got engaged we thought about July or August, but since our families are always doing something , mainly my family , we decided to have our big day on 8/8/20, we like the double number , but the number 8 is my fiance's favorite number , so we decided 8/8/20😁.

We got engaged August 4th 2018, so a lot of the planning is out of the way. I'm getting nervous as the days count down though! My mom keeps saying something will do wrong, it won't be perfect, you just have to enjoy the day. I don't want things to go wrong- after 2 years of planning! Smiley xd

Ah my gah. You've had plenty of time to get it going. We got engaged on September 28, 2019. I just ordered our STD's yesterday with the sale that they currently have. You'll be great. Don't stress. Did you do your guest list?

We have complete it as of Saturday night! 208 is our number. Since we are getting married in Virginia (and live in Texas), we know a lot of Texas folks aren’t coming.
