Is it weird to throw your own couples / bridal shower?

Did anyone get their cake from Sam's? I think it's my best option at this point. I just can't justify getting a cake for 230 people for $5 per slice.

Would you guys recommend doing fresh floral for all the decorations or for just the Boutonnière's and Bouquet? We're not having a tons of flowers, mainly just like sage green and forest green vines...
