Activity for Private User

My FH wants to wear a fedora at our wedding. The ceremony is in a church so he wouldn't wear it for that but for our first look pictures and reception he would have it. My mom says this is "silly", but I kinda like the idea. My FMIL has no opinion....

I am very set on having a first look but my family is adamant about keeping with tradition and they say I will regret it. Has anyone that has done a first look regretted it?

Is it rude to ask that no photos be taken during my ceremony? I have seen pictures that have been ruined by flashes or people getting in the way. Any professional photographers with advice would be greatly appreciated as well.

My mom's side of the family thinks I should open the gifts I get at the wedding reception but I feel that's awkward and make the reception feel like a birthday party. Is it rude to open them? Is it rude to not?

I have trouble spending extra money on something that people will just wipe the mouths on to just have my name on it. Thoughts? Does anyone think it's worth the money?

We are up to 200 now and I am thinking since most of them are 5+ hours away that a lot won't come. But I was talking to a friend and she said that I should plan for only 15% not to come. Are the percentages different when everyone lives so far away? ...

I am all the way sweetheart table but my FH wants a head table. Are there any advantages to a head table that I don't know about? I really want a sweetheart because I would get alone time with my groom and I feel like a head table is sort of medieval...
