The Woman's Club at The Bolling Haxall House Reviews

We were pampered. Prior to our visit, the venue team prepared a pdf for my fiancé and I to review, which detailed their services and offerings. The team answered all of our questions promptly. My mother and I received a private tour; later that day, we surprised them with a visit from my fiancé. The team was excited to see us and even introduced us to vendors for transportation and hotel accommodations. In addition, we were given a beautiful print of the venue, which we'll be using for our website and invitations. We couldn't be happier with this team!

We had our ceremony and reception at the Bolling Haxall House, where they flipped the auditorium during the cocktail hour. The venue was beautiful, and the staff, especially Kyle and Larry, were an absolute dream to work with. A ton of space for the girls to get ready upstairs and there is a suite off the auditorium for the groom & co to get ready. They made picking up everything after the wedding super easy and have a full industrial kitchen, which is really awesome for the caterer.

The Bolling Haxall House was gorgeous! My husband and I were both so happy we chose it as our venue for the ceremony AND reception. It made things so simple - with their changing rooms upstairs, parlor rooms, gardens and ballroom! We had so much space to plan with and easily accommodated the 110 guests we had. The stage in the ballroom provided a perfect location for the DJ to setup and the ballroom was the perfect size for our guests + a dance floor during the reception!
Every room has its own charm and beauty - which really showed in each and every photograph! The manager is very pleasant to work with as well.

I cannot say enough positive things about the BHH and staff, and I would highly recommend hosting your wedding reception here! The venue itself is stunning, both indoors and out. Our guests, especially those from out of town, were enthralled by the home's rich history. And the space and decor make for breathtaking photos.

Becky Thomas is outstanding. She is knowledgable, professional, and flexible; additionally, she was very communicative throughout the planning process. The day- of staff was also excellent, keeping our guests organized and safe, and even helped my parents and vendors pack up our belongings and decorations at the end of the night.

Brides would be lucky to have their big day here!

My new husband and I used the Bolling Haxall House as the venue for our wedding, cocktail hour and reception. The contact with the house was "Becky" and she answered all of our questions, was flexible in allowing us to visit the venue as the wedding progressed and everything happened as was promised. The venue is gorgeous inside and outside. Choose the Bolling Haxall House, you will be glad you did!

What a beautiful place! If you're looking for a venue that gives you a taste of Virginia the Bolling Haxall is what you want. The staff were warm and friendly and very accommodating. Loved Becky, Crystal and Mr. Anderson!

What can I say about the Bolling Haxall House - the venue is just beautiful, classic, timeless. We absolutely loved having our ceremony and reception there. We could not have imagined getting married anywhere else. Our guests and parents loved it too. A big thank you to our wedding planner, CCS Events, for recommending Bolling Haxall House to us.

I cannot say enough about how smooth things were throughout the wedding JUST BECAUSE I chose this as my location. My guests loved the proximity to options for places to eat, drink, party before and after the wedding. The staff is super helpful with information about parking, hotels and places for rehearsal dinners.

Their list of catering vendors is wonderful too.

This location has all the little touches that make it special.

The whole team at the Bolling Haxall House is fantastic. After seeing us peer into the windows, Lauren invited us inside, and gave us a tour, completely unplanned! She was such a great resource, and helpful in passing us off to Kyle. Kyle has been responsive to emails, kind in holding my hand as I ask 1000 questions, and patient. I am excited to get married here!

We looked for several months at venues all over Northern Virginia, DC, and Richmond. We wanted to find a venue that was unique to the city we were in but also had amenities and staff that would make our lives easier throughout the planning process. The Bolling Haxall House was the perfect selection. It has more than enough space for a ceremony and reception and the staff is extremely helpful. The historical house in downtown Richmond has a parlor where the cocktail hour was held, large ballroom with stage for the ceremony and reception, and a huge kitchen that our caterer loved. The upstairs is reserved for the bridal party to get ready. The courtyard outside also was great for pictures. We loved everything about it!

What a gorgeous place to have a wedding. The venue is so beautiful and the staff there is absolutely fantastic. They assisted us every step of the way and helped to make our wedding stunning! The venue is also quite affordable and much more exclusive than other venues in the area (i.e. you get the whole house to yourself and do not have to share the venue with any other weddings or parties)

Words cannot decribe the elegance and beauty of this place, absolutely breathtaking! The website does not do the BHH any justice, you HAVE to visit the place yourself....and to think I almost bypassed BHH judging from the website. I would have never gotten this kind of venue in Texas. I'm so glad I got married in VA.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Bolling Haxall House. Although the venue is truly stunning and the entire feel of the night, from the décor to the atmosphere, was exactly what we had hoped for, we were truly disappointed in the way that BHH staff handled the aftermath of our reception. We were charged without explanation for extra hours of staff time during our wedding reception, which we never approved or were consulted on. After consulting with our wedding planner and caterer, it was determined that the BHH staff on site lied to our vendors at the conclusion of the reception regarding when they could leave the venue in an effort to make "overtime" money, which my husband and I were required to pay for. After our very reputable vendors (who very frequently work at BHH and are well trusted by the Woman's Club) explained this unfair overcharge to Becky Thomas (the contact at BHH for wedding receptions) throughout multiple conversations, she still refused to refund our money. Please be weary of the practices BHH staff employ to make extra money off of their clients. They likely won't tell you about it until your final invoice comes in the mail, and it may catch you by surprise. This is such a beautiful and unique venue in downtown Richmond. It is a shame that some of the people working at this facility fail to display necessary respect towards and properly communicate with their clients and vendors.
