Alexis Sent on 05/28/2025Our experience at The Boathouse was just so amazing. Everything was perfect and it was better than we could've imagined it to be.
The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was the perfect spot for our reception. We worked with Alli for most of the planning process, and she was just phenomenal. We bombarded her with questions, and she was always very knowledgeable, prompt, and kind. She’s so great at what she does, and knows her stuff! She made sure every little detail came to fruition and the reception looked and felt just as we wanted. To add to that, we had a different venue coordinator, day-of, and Alli made sure everything was properly communicated to her.
We had our ceremony at a different location, and it was such a fun transition from that spot to The Boathouse. Our wedding day was a bit rainy in the morning with slight overcast afterwards, but by the time we got to The Boathouse – the sun was shining, and it made for a perfect sunset. That said, the wrap-around balcony surrounding the reception allowed for great views from inside of the reception area & was the perfect touch for guests who were wanting a change in scenery during cocktail hour, and even the reception. Being it’s right on the water, our sunset photos were perfect.
For food, we had filet & pan-seared chicken. We did not hear the end of how tasty everything was from our guests, and all of the staff was so amazing – from setup, waiting on everyone throughout the night, and cleanup (especially since some of our guests broke glasses on the dance floor several times through the evening). Like they tell you, we didn’t eat much during dinner since we were so in the moment, but they packed up a goodie bag for us at the end of the night – including two filets & our sides, our appetizers, and a bottle of wine. It was just what we needed when we made it back to the hotel.
We can’t say enough about how seamless our wedding day & planning process was when working with The Boathouse. We’re so sad it’s over & that we don’t get to talk to Alli every single day anymore ☹ We’ll forever have a special place in our hearts for The Boathouse & the team there.

We had our wedding at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing and truly could not have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, the entire staff was incredible to work with. They were professional, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our day special.
A huge shoutout to Alli, our day-of coordinator, who made everything absolutely seamless. She handled everything so that we didn’t have a single worry the entire day. Even in our meetings leading up she was so helpful, patient and honest. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with.
The venue itself is stunning, and the team behind it made the entire process feel easy and enjoyable. We’re so grateful for the experience and would absolutely recommend The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing to anyone! -

What an amazing evening!!! On 11/01/25 My son and daughter-in-law had a beautiful Micro-Wedding off-site at a nearby Historic Garden and Park followed by the perfect reception in The Harbourmaster Suite at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing. The views from the Harbourmaster Suite were amazing and the atmosphere was quite cozy and comfortable. Alli Prato was their On-Site Event Coordinator, Jacob and Derek were the Staff Captains that took care of everything throughout the reception, and everyone did a fantastic job.
We met Alli when we first visited The Boathouse to take a peek at the event space and she also worked with us during the planning phase. She was phenomenal. She was very prompt and responsive along the way as me bombarded her with questions throughout the process. She covered everything right down to the last detail. She offered suggestions and ideas that made everything perfect for them. The food was delicious, and everyone raved about the crab cakes and the beef that they chose as menu selections. They thoroughly enjoyed both the food and drinks. Jacob and Derek were amazing – from setup, to waiting on everyone throughout the night, to the wrap up stages, at the end of the evening and they also kept us abreast as the evening progressed. My husband and I chose the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing for our wedding and we are so glad we did.
All of the staff was amazing but we particularly want to highlight Alli, Laura, and Amy.
Alli, thank you for your patience as we planned our wedding. There were a lot of hiccups and back and forth and you handled it all like a champion.
Laura walked us through the rehearsal and then kept the actual wedding day running smoothly. She handled the decorations with ease (and there were a lot of them), and she also made sure to check in with us regularly on the day of. She handed us drinks right after we walked up the aisle, she came to get me when it was my turn to walk and told me to pause and enjoy it, she went through the buffet line for us and got our food, and she wrangled the boys who were there to help decorate the venue but were probably kind of in her way at some points.
Amy was a superstar! We had so many people mention Amy to us after the wedding. My mom in particular was in awe of her ability to be some personable while handling so many things at once. There was a point near the end of the night where I couldn't find my bouquet and I locked eyes with Amy and she stopped what she was doing to go get it for me. She was also so helpful with packing everything away and back into the large van we brought.
All in all, I don't have enough good things to say about Alli, Laura, Amy and the entire Boathouse team. You made the entire planning process so much easier than I expected and were all so kind. Thank you thank you thank you!!! -

Beautiful day
We loved our wedding day overall! Alli was our wedding event coordinator. She was so great and helpful! We threw the wedding together from out of state, over the short time of just 4 months. We held our rehearsal dinner here and everything was absolutely perfect! The highlights of the evening were Eddie and the exceptional waitstaff (huge shout out to Courtney!), as well as the incredible food (pls put the ham biscuits and fried green tomatoes on the main menu, lol). The whole event went super smoothly, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others who want to host an event. -

Our wedding reception
Everything about our wedding reception at the Boathouse was exactly what we wanted. Bonnie in Sales and Alli, or event coordinator were wonderful. They helped guide us in choosing the best type reception style and entertainment to achieve the vibe we wanted. Alli was so helpful in both the planning and execution of the evening. The staff at our event was very friendly and expert at their jobs. Everything went smoothly and a planned. The good was fabulous and many of the guests commented on how good it was. The bar staff was skilled. One even captured a photo of us stealing a private moment in the midst of the crowd that is one of our favorite photos of the evening. We highly recommend the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing for your next event. -

My wedding was enjoyable, beautiful, and created a lifetime of memories for us, our friends, and our family. The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing played a significant part in ensuring this once in a lifetime event was everything we hoped for. When you book a wedding with the Boathouse you will be assigned a planning professional and day of coordinator that has experience doing weddings at the Boathouse, and coordinating Boathouse staff. They will help plan, coordinate vendors, and corral guests and staff on the day of. This is extremely valuable as unlike a separate day of coordinator they have the authority and confidence to make everything happen from setting up tables with your decorations to making tiny hospitality touches like serving the bride and groom early and making regular check-ins. This is normally a service that costs thousands of dollars but comes with booking through the Boathouse and will make the couple’s evening excellent.
Our coordinator, Alli Prato was not like a stereotypical wedding planner in the best of ways. Her straightforward “I have seen and handled everything before” attitude gave the bride, and mother of the bride complete confidence that any mishaps would be handled by a competent professional. She listened to exactly what we wanted and executed that exactly. She never pushed for extra charges but just told us what things cost and what she advised to have our vision executed.
The food and service was the original reason we decided to book the Boathouse and did not disappoint. Having a full service restaurant upstairs means your food will be professionally prepared fresh and not through lukewarm catering treys. The Boathouse definitely uses their “A-Team” for weddings as all servers were experienced professionals that ensured all guests were taken care of.
The venue for the ceremony and reception give a majestic view of the river with the Richmond skyline in the background (either go there for happy-hour or check out their Instagram to see for yourself). Having the ceremony and reception 2 floors away from each other means you save yourself the hassle of coordinating transportation and it is easier on your elderly guests. Our wedding was 60 guests and the size felt perfect for that number. I think the Rockett’s Landing location maxes out at 150 and I could see that size being a little cramped.
If you want your wedding to be stress-free, elegant, and professionally run do not hesitate to book with the Boathouse. I can’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else and getting through it with our sanity. The price is definitely affordable for the value you get. Please have no wedding regrets and book with the confidence that your wedding will be incredible.

I can't recommend The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing enough for a wedding reception! Our experience was absolutely perfect. Alli, our coordinator, was a true gem—she was incredibly professional, attentive, and her calming presence made the planning process so much easier. She made sure that we had everything that we needed during our big day. She made sure we had a late night snack to take away too!! Alli checked on us throughout the whole night to make we had time to eat and enjoy our wedding reception! Her attentiveness allowed us to take in the incredible evening.
The food was fantastic, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about it! The venue itself is stunning, right on the river with breathtaking views of the city. We chose Casa Del Barco for our wedding reception and it was perfect. Kristin and Laura made the whole experience absolutely seamless. From the planning process, to day of we had a blast. The restaurant was the perfect reception space, we had room for a DJ and a band and our guests loved it! The venue itself has so much character, it made the vibe of the night so fun. The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was the perfect wedding venue! I was looking for a venue that handled all catering and rentals through them, and I am SO happy we picked The Boathouse! From the initial tour with Bonnie to our wedding day with coordinator Alli, everything was super professional, organized, and overall wonderful. Alli was incredibly helpful and easy to work with. She had a clear plan of how she normally runs things, but also was completely open to anything I wanted to change or do differently. I appreciated her having an outline to work off of, but that The Boathouse is flexible to basically whatever my husband and I wanted to do. The extra upgrades we chose (dance floor, fancy water glasses, food upgrades, etc.) were all well worth the money. The tasting event was super fun and everything we tried was great, it made it hard to choose! On our wedding day, The Boathouse staff took care of absolutely everything. From setup, to moving flower arrangements between the ceremony and reception spaces, to the passed drinks and appetizers, to serving dinner and dessert, the staff was knowledgeable and professional. I am a naturally high stress person and was worried that my wedding day would be unenjoyable because I would be so anxious, but Alli and the rest of the staff made me feel completely relaxed and and I was able to truly have the best day of my life! All of our guests raved about how delicious the food and drinks were, as well as how helpful and prompt the servers were. Throughout the day Alli was incredibly helpful with any little question or thing that needed to be done. Overall, I would recommend The Boathouse to anyone who wants a venue with gorgeous views and an impeccable wedding experience. -

The Boathouse was such an incredible venue! It was the clear choice for us and was beyond convenient since EVERYTHING was included! They handle everything from linens and food to tables and chairs and even throw in a day of coordinator (Alli) who is absolutely incredible. Bonnie (sales) walked us through options and pricing and everything was transparent from the jump. Alli brought our dream wedding to life, and displayed professionalism every step of the way paying attention to details such as making sure we had a drink in our hand when we needed one and kept us operating on the timeline we wanted to be on. I cannot share enough how amazing The Boathouse was on our special day. They were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to meet our expectations. Our day could not have been more special and perfect because of them. We were blown away by how much they did for us on that day. The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing is a wonderful place to get married! They make it so easy, and straightforward and they really take care of their couples along the way. From our initial meeting with Bonnie to the wedding day with Alli, we had a wonderful experience.
We looked at several places but the Boathouse is unmatched if you're looking for a venue that offers both an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception, all in the city after daylight saving ends (our wedding was mid-November). The skyline and view of the James are perfection.
I loved that the pricing was clear from day one- it's all right on their website for browsing before even speaking to anyone! We toured so many places that I thought we could save money here or there- but then the fine print would prove otherwise.
The Boathouse also offers so much in-house- from the coordinator (Alli), to the wait and bar staff, to the food and drinks, to their partnership with a vendor for linens, chairs, a dance floor, and various other rentals- you do not have to piece together a bunch of items from different vendors- Alli took care of all of it! And the convenience did not result in poor quality- the number of times I reached out to Alli about tablecloth covers must've been annoying- but she never made me feel like it was! She was always so easygoing and delightful to work with
When we arrived back at our hotel room we had to-go meals and wine waiting for us that Alli had packed up and sent with our day-of coordinator. It was such a nice treat after an incredible day! It really did go perfectly- my husband and I are so glad we went with the Boathouse and will have fond memories of our wedding day there forever! -

I can’t express how amazing our wedding day was! Alli and everyone At the boathouse made sure things went smoothly, and they were all side professional and so kind to our guests. The outdoor ceremony space was gorgeous and the indoor reception room was so intimate and special. Our guests are still raving about the food and overall how amazing the boathouse was! Many people who get married are doing so for the first time, and as a result, planning a wedding is new to them and can be overwhelming. This was certainly the case for my husband Vincent and me, married at The Boathouse on November 5th, 2022.
We were thrilled at the prospect of tying the knot in a central location, close to the river and the city we call home, so The Boathouse was our first choice venue. We were surprised to find that it was within our budget and we immediately moved to book our date. For us, the name of the game for planning our wedding was value and minimal stress. We considered hiring a wedding planner and/or day-of coordinator, but with Alli Prato, this was wholly unnecessary and we were able to save money on planning services. Alli was with us every step and was on point about all the details: food, decor, linens, DJ, ceremony, all of it. If you go with The Boathouse, you have at least a year before your date, and you're comfortable planning most wedding tasks unrelated to the venue (hotels, flowers, guests, invitations, etc.), then there is no need to hire a planner, as Alli takes care of virtually all venue-related tasks.
Our ceremony took place outside, overlooking the river and Richmond skyline. We lucked out with perfect weather and it was beautiful! Our reception was upstairs in the River View Room, and guests could mingle outside on the patio/balcony, or inside by the bar or dancefloor. This inside/outside situation was perfect, since November 5th could have been chilly.
Also, even though my husband and I hardly had time to eat for spending time with friends and family, the food was amazing! We went with the heavy hors d'oeuvres option, so there were passed appetizers, food stations, etc. This worked well for 135 people and everyone had plenty to eat and plenty of options. Another aspect we loved was that The Boathouse pays their staff a competitive hourly wage and includes gratuity. My husband and I have worked in the service industry so it was important to us that working our wedding was lucrative for servers and bartenders.

I don't know where to start - choosing The Boathouse was the absolute best decision! The location was sentimental to us as both of us have hosted visiting family members at dinners here, and we even got engaged on the dock below the restaurant so we were excited to look here for our wedding. We ultimately decided on The Boathouse because of the amazing value and ability to have almost everything taken care of in house. It was so great to have an on site day of coordinator (Alli - you are the best!) who took care of every detail to make the day go smoothly and made sure all of our needs were met. She helped guide us through everything in the meetings leading up to the big day and made sure we thought about all the small details that may not have crossed our minds. Once the day started I didn't have to think about anything - she was just there making it happen. Having all of the seating, food, and alcohol all included was wonderful & everyone thought everything tasted great. We really only had to bring in a DJ, flowers, and cake/desserts. Everything else was taken care of by the venue. AND it is naturally beautiful so we didn't feel like we had to go all out on flowers/decor. I can't say enough about how AMAZING our day was, and a huge part of this was The Boathouse - especially Alli. We wish we could relive this day over & over! -

WOW… is simply the one word that comes to mind after Jonathan and I concluded our wedding evening at the Boathouse at Rockett’s Landing. From start to finish, Alli Prato made this experience so unbelievably easy and fun for the both of us. Living a thousand miles away from your wedding venue is no easy feat, and every time we needed anything or wanted to discuss through ideas etc, Alli always made herself available for both of us. Fast forward to the day of… the execution of the entire evening was utterly flawless and she did such an amazing job at making everyone feel so calm & welcome! We would recommend the Boathouse to absolutely ANYONE! We had a short list for venues, and The Boathouse was at the top. We needed a venue that was a one-stop shop for venue, ceremony, food and beverage, allowed a live band, and most importantly, it's own style and ambience without needing additional decorations. The location on the James River, at the bend where you can see the city in the backdrop, was perfect. The wrap-around covered terrace was perfect [in case of weather] for the evening to have the ability to step outside. The food and food options are all incredible (MUST get the ham biscuits!) and the beverage package (Silver) was perfect for all. We did have our ceremony at the venue, but chose to have it inside on the dance floor to make it a very intimate setting (chairs for parents only, everyone else gathered around. We did cocktail style food the entire night, with pass smaller options during cocktail hour and then progressively heavier options passed or put out buffet style during the rest of the evening. We had 90 guests and with the area required for the band and the 12'x20' dance floor (upgrade from the 12'x12' standard), the space was perfect with little wasted space nor crowding.
The planning process was excellent. We had a combination of in-person and virtual meetings. All options were laid out very well at the beginning and the package pricing really makes it easy to choose what is right for you and your guest size. We did add the larger dance floor which i would say is a must if you have at least a 50 person guest list, We also added additional cafe string lights above the dance floor, which I would do again, but beware that a typical summer wedding (we did 6p-10p) it won't get dark for some time into the event and the lights won't be of much use until it gets darker. If the band or DJ has their own lighting, you could probably do without the lights. Also same for the uplighting that we added on the middle columns. They were an add-on that the venue provided via a 3rd party vendor. Great for the night time, but something to consider if a large portion of your ceremony or reception would be in the daylight. The River Room windows and terrace face almost due West, so you will get some nice sunset lighting, but if it's summer you will have sunlight coming in until 7p-ish.
I am finding it hard to find any critiques. It was truly perfect. Wedding coordinators were excellent (Alli and Chanae), food and beverage options perfect, great location to downtown hotels, and I believe an overall excellent value for what you get. -

Having our wedding at the Boathouse was the best decision we made. Not only is the venue gorgeous, but the whole team was incredible. Our coordinator, Alli, ran everything seamlessly and guided us through the whole process. Alli made sure we had food, drinks, and never needed anything throughout the night. I cannot rave enough about how much we love Alli and the entire staff. Guests were raving about the food and drinks all night long, as well as the view. -

Perfection
This wedding was everything we wanted and more. Not a single thing went wrong, and the service far exceeded my expectations. Everyone working the event seemed genuinely happy to serve us, and as someone who waited tables for 7 years I know how hard that can be. Everyone one had an amazing time and was absolutely blown away at how beautifully it all came together. I am still getting compliments on the food! (Of course! That’s why we chose the boathouse!) 13/10 recommend... seriously couldn't say enough about The Boathouse! We had originally planned to be married and have our reception in 2020, but obvi COVID said no. Alli was a dream to work with, as she is so professional and was attentive in helping us transfer dates and get all details worked out leading up to the big day! This past Saturday we got to hold the reception here, and despite having guests constantly changing their attendance and thus having to alternate numbers, there being a massive storm, the power going out, and it being the middle of summer... we had the BEST TIME! The staff had everything ready to go, and handled the adversity like absolute champs. In fact, it was so smooth that we had several guests tell us the didn't even realize the power had gone out!! Alli made sure to everything still went off and literally kept the evening smooth, enjoyable, and practically on schedule. I can't imagine having our celebration anywhere else. Not only could I see my beloved city, the river, and my friends/family, the food was amazing, and the space was perfect for our evening! Loved feeling like we were outside with the big walls of windows, but being comfortably indoors during the Richmond Summer heat! -

The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing is the most beautiful venue! Alli Carney, our day of coordinator, was literally there for us the entire time making sure everything was exactly as we wanted it. During the planning process I spoke to Alli weekly and she was always very responsive and answered all of my questions. During the reception she made sure we had eaten and kept guests from bothering with us while we ate. We always had the drink of our choice in our hands. We could not have done this without her! The reception room was absolutely beautiful and was set up exactly the way we envisioned it. The linens were the most perfect color. The staff were all very professional and very accommodating. If The Boathouse is one of your choices for a venue then I would most certainly recommend it, you will not be disappointed!! -

The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was absolutely the perfect venue to fulfill all our wedding needs and more! Not only do they offer rates that work with your budget, but they cater the food in house (so delicious), provide the tables, linens, dance floor, and an assigned event coordinator! It was so nice not having to contract with outside third-parties or hire a day of wedding planner. Literally your one-stop shop and did I mention the venue is gorgeous?! Due to COVID-19 we had to postpone of May wedding to August 2020, but our event coordinator worked closely with us all the way up to our big day. They went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was held safely and met our expectations. Throughout the process, they kept me informed and reassured on every detail which honestly limited any stress whatsoever. Also, we had some rain right before our outdoor ceremony which thankfully let up just in time, but the great thing is the Boathouse has a back-up space in the event of bad weather. I really can't say enough great things about the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing and the staff, especially the event coordinators, Alli and Hana who were with me through it all. They were both phenomenal!! My wedding turned out to be everything I could have imagine. Highly recommended!!! -

My husband and I got married at the Boathouse at Rocket's Landing July 27, 2019. We were blown away by how flexible and open minded the event planners were! Upon touring the Boathouse, we fell in love with the view of the city. After seeing the views of the Boathouse, we wanted to set up a tent on the river and have a tented reception. Ali and Susan worked diligently to make our crazy idea the most beautiful reality! The event planners at the Boathouse at Rockets Landing are truly one of a kind. Ali was incredibly helpful and effective setting up (dozens of) rentals, coordinating our ceremony and reception, and executing the wedding day itself. Ali is not only a wedding magician, she is also the kindest and most fun person to work with! The Boathouse at Rocket's Landing gave us the perfect venue and back drop for our Richmond wedding. Their flexibility and willingness to try something new is truly rare in the wedding industry! I would highly recommend getting married at the Boathouse at Rocket's Landing!

The Boathouse is hands down the best place to get married! Where do I start? Such a modern unique building right on the water, with excellent food and amazing wonderful people. Everything about the Boathouse was perfect. They are so good at doing weddings, they took all of the pressure off which was greatly appreciated. They were VERY quick to respond to my million emails throughout the entire process. The day of the wedding everything went so smoothly thanks to the coordinator. I am so thankful for the Boathouse. We chose The Boathouse at Rockett's Landing for our ceremony and reception venue for several reasons. The view of the city is amazing, we love the water, the food is always fantastic, and instead of coordinating all the little things such as linens, a caterer, servers, bartenders, chairs, tables, etc., it's all there wrapped into one! This was especially important to me, and made the planning process easy. The venue also comes with Alli, the day of coordinator, but she is so much more than that! She guided us through the whole planning process with several meetings and countless emails, worked with us to make our vision come to reality and had great insight when we weren't sure how to proceed. Alli knew every detail of my wedding, set up the reception area with our extra decorations, ran the rehearsal, and made sure we were at ease. The day of went off without a hitch! The food was great, the service professional, set up was down to a science, and everything ran on time. Alli and her team made this happen! We cannot stop talking about how perfect our wedding day was, and credit Alli and The Boathouse for all their hard work! -

The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was the perfect venue for our wedding – such a beautiful view of the Richmond skyline! We had our ceremony on the outside patio area, which was lovely. But, even if it happens to rain, having the ceremony inside is still fantastic due to the large windows, covered balcony area, and spacious reception room (including a huge bar). We worked with Alli Prato, who was incredible throughout the entire process. There are a lot of details that come with wedding planning, and Alli helped us make sure we didn’t forget anything. She always responded quickly to emails and was available any time for questions. Alli has a very calming presence, which is very helpful when planning inevitably gets a little stressful. Alli and her team were incredible on the day of our wedding and made sure everything ran smoothly and checked on us and our family members multiple times throughout the night. We were extremely happy with our experience at the Boathouse at Rocketts Landing and highly recommend it! -

Our wedding at The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing was absolutely perfect! We worked with Alli, our day of coordinator, and she was a dream. She worked hard to make sure my vision was brought to life, and was very calm and laid back throughout the whole process, which helped to ease my nerves and take away some of the stress that goes with planning a wedding! The staff the day of was also fantastic, going out of their way to make sure the entire bridal party was fed, and that we were treated like VIPs. We got married August 31st, and our ceremony started at 5:30 - letting our photographer take advantage of the golden hour during cocktail hour photos. The only negative (not the fault of the Boathouse) was that there were people playing volleyball and taking advantage of the bike path nearby, one of which walked through our ceremony while I was walking down the aisle. This was made up for by the awesome diners at the Boathouse cheering from the patio when we were pronounced husband and wife. With the RVA skyline and the James River in the background, our photos are stunning! The sunset from the River View Room was gorgeous, and all of our guests kept commenting on how beautiful our venue was. If you're looking for a truly "Richmond" wedding and don't mind a few spectators, the Boathouse couldn't be a more perfect choice. -

My husband and I decided to have our wedding at the Boathouse after we had dinner at the restaurant to celebrate our engagement. It was the best decision ever! Alli was incredibly helpful throughout our entire wedding planning process. I really can't imagine a more qualified, organized, or friendly person to work with and we have nothing but amazing things to say about her. Having your wedding at the Boathouse is as stress-free as wedding planning can be. They are so easy to work with and it is so nice to have one vendor handle the ceremony, reception space, linens and rentals, and catering. The food was incredible, we had so many compliments on the unique space, and they included so many thoughtful touches for my husband and me (like providing us with a meal to go as we were leaving--I was so nervous during the actual reception I couldn't eat much of my dinner!). Altogether, we are so happy we chose the Boathouse and would highly recommend it to anyone. -

My husband and I got married here recently and worked with Alli, the Boathouse's day-of coordinator. She was very detailed with the planning leading up to our wedding and made it easy to iron out the schedule and all the moving parts. No complaints at all in that regard! And then the day of the wedding came and I remember her being SO gracious and treating me and the wedding party with such exemplary first-class service. I remember asking something from her just to find out she had already read my mind and had her team behind her already working on it. I've had great customer service before, but Alli made me feel like royalty on my big day.
On top of that, our guests had a blast and everyone complimented the food and venue. My husband and I have no complaints and are truly grateful for the experience and memories Alli and her team at the Boathouse provided. Thank you so much! -

From the pre planning to the day of, everything was so organized. The staff are super friendly and made us feel so welcome. I highly recommend this group to host anyone’s big day! We chose The Boathouse because of the proximity to downtown RVA for our out-of-town guests and for the city skyline as our wedding backdrop. Another HUGE bonus was the convenience of not having to choose a caterer, lighting company, linen company, bartenders, etc., because everything is available directly through them. This made the whole wedding planning process a breeze. We also can't say enough nice things about the entire staff, especially Alli. She did a PHENOMENAL job keeping the entire day on track (along with our planning meetings leading up to the wedding), communicating with our photographer/videographer/DJ/photo booth vendors, and making sure that my husband and I were taken care of. We received multiple compliments on the quality of the food and how different/unique people thought the venue was. If you're looking for an industrial look with beautiful views of Richmond and an amazing staff, look no further! Alli is easy to work with, accommodating, responsive, and truly made our wedding the best day ever! -

We chose the Boathouse for both our ceremony and reception space. I chose the location based on the beautiful scenery and how affordable it was compared to other venues in the city. You are really getting your money's worth here with the BEAUTIFUL skyline of Richmond in the background and the modern industrial look of the building itself. It is truly a unique location. I worked with Laura, an event coordinator with the Boathouse, and she was an absolute dream. She calmed every worry I had as a bride, answered my millions of questions, and really paid attention to how I wanted my dream wedding to be. Laura planned several meetings to go over food, decorations, and ceremony prep. In these meetings, we went over every detail and Laura was very informative the entire way through. The ceremony and reception both flowed so smoothly thanks to Laura and the hours of prep we did! The Boathouse staff was also very accommodating with my guest's food allergies and they also helped a lot with the set up. I can't speak highly enough of them! I was lucky to have my wedding right after the Grand Illumination in Richmond, VA so the skyline of the city was brightly and beautifully lit in the background of my reception venue. Everyone raved over how scenic and fun the venue was! I still have guests talking about how wonderful it is! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an event space or even just a place to eat. They are wonderful in everything they do and I cannot thank them enough!

We had an amazing experience working with the Boathouse for our wedding. So many of our guests mentioned how great the staff was -- they really went above and beyond to make our day perfect. It was pouring all day and suddenly stopped raining about 15 min before the ceremony start. They offered to move the ceremony outside as originally planned (we declined) but it was SO nice that they were willing to do so. Alli Prato, our coordinator, was on top of every little detail and so great at coordinating with our other vendors. They were flexible with some changes we wanted to the beverage options. The food was delicious...definitely on par with their restaurant overall. We are so happy that we decided to get married there. The only constructive feedback would be that I wish they covered more of the cost of the tasting. Overall, highly recommended! -

Jennifer Sent on 11/29/2017We thoroughly enjoyed having our wedding at the Boathouse. Alli and her team were communicative, accommodating, and prepared. When it comes to executing weddings, they have the process down. Yet, we still felt like the experience was personal and we were important. There are 2 things I appreciate most about the Boathouse: 1) The service: from setting up, service at dinner, and breaking down, everyone was courteous, attentive, and made sure no one was left wanting. They proactively packed up all the things we would take with us at the end of the night (centerpieces, flowers, guest book...), and made sure our wedding party and family had to do as little as possible. This was extremely important to us. 2) Timeline and coordination: It's inevitable that you are extremely busy and distracted on your wedding day. Between the nerves, fitting in photos, talking to guests, and trying to eat your dinner, the last thing you want to worry about it how and when things happen. Alli [assisted by our MC/DJ Chase (Black Tie Ent.)] made sure that we knew every step of the way what was going on and where we needed to be. This is invaluable on such a huge day where you're trying to be as present as possible. The one bit of feedback I would give is that the dinner tasting should be free (within reason) or the credit should be more than $50. We ended up doing 2 tastings and were much happier with the choices the second time around. But it cost us as much as a fancy dinner out. When you consider how much money a couple spends just at the Boathouse for their wedding, it seems fair for this to be a complimentary part of the package. However, this doesn't change my recommendation that the Boathouse is a fantastic place to get married, both in location and in service. (Bonuses: cocktails + appetizers delivered for the wedding party while they take photos, cold water pitcher for guests before ceremony, to-go package for bride + groom with champagne + all the food and cake from your reception)

Working with the Boathouse was a dream! Alli was our day-of coordinator and made the experience feel cohesive and honest. I loved how much the Boathouse included-- ceremony space, storage for non-perishables the day prior, snacks for after the wedding. They set up our entire decor and everything looked beautiful. I had several guests comment on how great the food was. We lucked our with overcast weather for the ceremony, and guests loved the balcony for cocktail hour. Overall, Alli and team made the experience feel easy and my husband and I enjoyed our day without worrying about hiccups!
