If you’re debating on hiring a planner, stop debating and request Tara and her team. Weddings are so stressful, it’s no secret, but Tara (and the two Jessica’s I had) are amazing at what they do. I feel like I barely had to lift a finger. I got the package where Tara was involved the last 90 days (which was perfect for me and what I needed!) and their professionalism took so much stress off of me when I needed it the most. Any little detail, any major issue, they have it handled. Throughout my wedding night, Jessica and Jessica both came up to me and my husband periodically to check if there was anything we needed. They even kept me calm when a tree fell on my DJs van, my bridesmaids car, and my car. These three wonderful ladies kept me sane and I don’t think I could’ve gone through a wedding without any of them! -

We had Tara and her team help with for our beach wedding in May. Thanks to Covid, a ton of changes were made and things were up in the air until the last minute. Tara and her team went above and beyond their responsibilities by helping come up with alternative suggestions and being absolute rockstars the day of. I am usually a worry wart, but day of I felt so confident in their abilities that I didn’t even see the venue until right before the ceremony. Every detail was completely put together already, exactly as they had promised! I have never felt so calm and taken care of. We will absolutely be recommending her and her team to everyone we know. -

Tara and her team were absolutely AMAZING. We were on the fence about whether or not we needed planning services. Let me tell you - you do! They were so friendly and helpful throughout the entire planning process. The software she uses is amazing as well - and made everything 100x easier. The day of was bliss - we didn't have to worry about a thing! Everything went without a single issue, and it was truly a carefree day for us! Now that it's over, we miss our discussions with Tara and the team - they were such a big and important part of the process and we got to know each other pretty well! 100/10 would recommend! -

Tara and her team are amazing. I booked Tara for "Day-Of" planning but really felt like I had full service wedding planning. Tara took such care to make sure things were fixed by another vendor the day before my wedding and preserved my sanity! She was so kind, patient, and accommodating through the whole process. She is very organized and helped me stay on track with wedding planning. Josie led my day and ensured it went as smoothly as possible and team members Jessica and Kayla also went above and beyond to make sure we had a great day!! -

Tara and her whole team were the absolute best. They were amazing!!! Our wedding was a amazing event. Tara and her team worked together with us and the other vendors perfectly!! They pushed the event over the top!! Tara kept in constant touch with me. I always knew what was being done and what we needed to have done. Tara is extremely organized. Tara made our day go smoothly. Tara went above and beyond anything that I ever expected. Every tiny detail was made perfect. She also made sure details that I had never thought about were done. Tara was there and in charge before during and after the event. Tara and her team were outstanding!!!! My husband and I HIGHLY recommend this company!! Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value
Tara, "the life saver", Tara "the superwoman". We gave her a challenge by having her plan our wedding during a PANDEMIC and her work was nothing short of incredible. If you're looking for a COVID approved, pandemic approved, natural disaster approved wedding planner who can work around anything... STOP! look no further. Tara is the one!! Cannot thank her enough for helping to make our day beautiful and life changing. Oh and her prices are good too ;)

Tara has been exceptional to work with. Her services were everything I could’ve asked for to complete my wedding planning. Her and I met when I was 2 months out from my wedding, at a tailor shop where I was getting my last dress fitting done. We started discussing weddings and planning and she informed me that she provides a timeline/details assistant package and service to brides who have a wedding in a distant state, outside of her home state, Virginia. I quickly became interested and she met me for a free consultation the next day over lunch to discuss what all she would provide. I was again, quickly convinced to continue working with her. She was so sweet and everything I needed to help finalize what I thought I had a grip of. She provided me with an array of wedding planning resources and enlightened me on many of the details I had still not figured out.
Although I initially had a “do it all” mindset when planning my wedding, I quickly became over whelmed during the last few months as I was unsure how the timeline or flow would go. I wasn’t necessarily worried about whom I hired for my vendors, but rather, how the planning and day of would transpire given my limited understanding and expertise in this area of planning. Tara came in at the perfect time and helped me in many ways. For an affordable price and for the worthwhile communication we shared together and what she had shared with all wedding vendors and important wedding personnel, she truly made my wedding day transpire into something so special that wouldn’t have otherwise gone so smoothly.
In addition, she offered a unique and modern wedding website that allowed me to access all of my wedding details and vendor information, as well as a detailed timeline that had a variety of viewer settings (Bridal party, vendors, parents, etc.) all in one place. As someone who has OCD with planning, documents, etc. I can tell you first hand that this was a GAME CHANGER. All my details were finally put in a pretty, convenient, and user-friendly way that made my planning and sanity that much less stressful. Not to mention, she reached out to ALL of my vendors (over 15) many times to confirm schedules, and make sure everyone was on the same page and that everything would go smooth day of.
I highly recommend Tara and her services and look forward to staying in touch and following her future weddings!

When I first moved to Virginia Beach I was engaged for 4 months. My fiance and I had already set a date for our wedding, but had no idea where to begin when it came to planning it. After sitting down and making a full wedding to-do list, we knew we couldn't do this alone. I didn't search long before a mutual friend recommended Tara to me. From the moment I met her, I knew she was the PERFECT planning companion. From her elegant style to her vibrant personality, I fully trusted that should would turn our dream into a reality. Soon after I hired Tara, I already knew it was one of the best decisions I had ever made. She made what used to be stressful and overwhelming, EASY and exciting. Did I mention my wedding was IN FLORIDA!? With Tara and I both living in Virginia, you would think this would be a difficult event to plan. Absolutely not!! Tara found the most amazing vendors Florida has to offer all from five states away! The day of the wedding took my breath away. I knew Tara saw the vision I had for this day, but her work surpassed all expectations. Between our dream and her professional experience, our day could not have been more of a fairytale. You can see the passion in her planning sprinkled through every wedding she creates. Being engaged to a man in the military means moving away from all friends and family is inevitable, but I can honestly say that Tara felt like family through this entire experience. Thank you for giving us a perfect day.

From the first meeting with Tara, she was such a gem to work with! She worked very hard to understand and grasp my vision. The moment I arrived at the venue on our wedding day, I was in awe! Tara had taken care of absolutely everything! She took my dreams and made it a seamless reality. Tara was amazing. For someone who only did a "month of coordinating," she kept in contact with me throughout my whole planning process, which was a total of 10 months. I'm a pretty simple bride but she always asked how I was feeling every now and then and even met up with me when I was stressed about family related issues! If anything went wrong at my wedding on the day of, I wouldn't have known because she was on top of it throughout the whole day. -

We did not have a wedding when we first got married so we decided to have the wedding of our dreams and vow renewal ceremony this year (two months ago today) at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Since we live in Maryland, we wanted an experienced wedding coordinator who was friendly, organized, knowledgeable and familiar with local VA Beach vendors. We chose Simply Southern Weddings and Events by Tara, and could not be happier with our decision. Tara and her team did an outstanding job! We purchased the partial package to reduce costs and b/c I wanted to coordinate various details of the wedding. As our special day drew closer, I fell behind on completing the seating chart, ordering printed signs and a few other details. Also, we had an unexpected death in the family within days of the wedding, along with 12 unexpected guest cancellations after giving our final headcount. I was feeling overwhelmed and didn't know how everything was going to work out. Tara was a God-send and stepped in during my moment of distress to save the day!! She voluntarily went over and above the contract terms to get the job done. She fixed all the seating issues, ordered the signs, and flawlessly executed all the day of coordination with the bridal party and vendors like a seasoned pro! When I walked into the room and saw how beautiful everything looked, it took my breath away. I'm so thankful we had Tara as our wedding coordinator. She is simply the best and far exceeded our expectations. She was always responsive to our needs, offered helpful advice and vendor referrals and played a key role in making our 30th anniversary a dream come true! I have rated Tara's services 5 Stars in all areas. Having her on our Dream Team was one of the best decisions we made!! Her expertise, friendship and professionalism gave me the peace of mind I needed, and her services were more than worth the investment!

My husband and I were absolutely stunned when we walked into venue and it felt so unreal that everything we envisioned was a reality. We used Tara's "Month-of-planning" services and she provided us with so much more than just "month-of" planning. She kept in touch with us throughout the wedding planning process and made sure we weren't forgetting anything along the way! My husband and I are very crafty, detail oriented, and big planners, so we were really looking to just have someone deliver our vision on our wedding day so that we could just enjoy our big day and Tara and her team provided exactly what we needed! We had so many DIY decor and so many details and Tara was able to put everything together exactly as we had envisioned it and we couldn't be any happier! We knew that this task was going to be a LOT for any wedding planner, but she listened to every detail and really helped to make our wedding day as magical and beautiful as we had hoped!!!! We were SO impressed with Tara's services, not to mention how organized she is and how willing she is to really help you make your wedding dreams come to life. She is very sweet and kind and really went above and beyond what we expected, and if we could do our wedding all over again, we would definitely have Tara help us again!!!!
