All I have to say are AMAZING things about Silverbrook Farm, and the venue’s owner, Dot. My husband and I booked our venue over a year out and Dot was the most helpful with any and every question we had. Dot is the most accommodating and was pretty flexible when we wanted to visit the venue to visualize ideas we had for wedding set up. Dot is so kind, nice, and sweet. She gives great and honest feedback with your ideas, to help you create a smoother day. We had a pending hurricane on the forecast for our wedding and Dot was very reassuring that transitioning from the planned outdoor wedding, to the barn would be wonderful. The whole wedding ceremony felt so intimate with all of our loved ones surrounded by us in the barn. Dot and her coordinator, Jackie were LIFE SAVERS for our wedding day. Our caterers were late, and to make sure the wedding stayed on time, meant that Jackie and Dot, with the help of our florist, set up our wedding before guest arrival. They are truly the ultimate team who have the best intentions for the couple and their big day, even in the middle of hurricane weather. The day went so smooth for us and we couldn’t thank them enough for their help and hard work. They are amazing people, who are so welcoming and wonderful to work with. I HIGHLY recommend Silverbrook Farm to any bride. There are so many different sites on the venue’s property, it makes for very wonderful photographs. My husband and I loved everything about our wedding day, thanks to Dot and Jackie.

We can't say enough great things about our experience working with Dotti and having our wedding at Silverbrook Farm. Formerly in the antiques business, Dotti has excellent taste in design and décor. Every bit of the house and property has character that makes is special and memorable. Most importantly, Dotti has the most wonderful, warm, and calm energy, and she makes the farm feel like home.
The setting is out of a storybook, with verdant garden landscaping and sweeping views. We were sad to see the stunning silver maple cut down, as it provided valuable shade to the ceremony area. If you get married in the summer you'll want to make sure your guests have hats/parasols/fans.
We would get married at Silverbrook every year if we could! My hope is that we can go back and stay at the BnB for our anniversary. Dotti is the type of person who stays in your heart forever, and the peaceful, romantic beauty of the farm is truly unmatched.

Our wedding at Silverbrook was so magical! Dotti went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and welcomed us into her home as if we were family. She is just so generous and was incredibly accommodating when we needed to reschedule due to Covid. The grounds and barn were so beautiful that we hardly needed to decorate and used what Dotti had available in her “Pinterest shed” for little decorative details like vases, table numbers and signs. We really envisioned a low key backyard/barn wedding and that’s exactly what Silverbrook provided. The cows even came up to the fence during the reception to enjoy the music! Our guests were in awe of the beautiful property and had a lovely time. Definitely book this spot for your wedding. You won’t be disappointed! -

We've been putting off writing our review of Silverbrook Farm because it is truly not easy to do justice to this incredibly special place. Our best advice is to go see it for yourself. If you're like us, you will immediately fall in love with the absolutely gorgeous property, be fascinated by the history of the house, and realize on the spot that you could not imagine yourself getting married anywhere else.
When we got engaged, we did a lot of online research on venues and toured quite a few of them. There are many gorgeous venues in Loudoun county and Virginia wine country but based on our experience, Silverbrook is in a class of its own. No other location we saw shows the stunning beauty of the Virginia countryside quite like Silverbrook. It is gorgeous all on its own; you really don't need much by way of florals or decorations. Silverbrook also has such a variety of beautiful spots to explore and use for photos, such as the leafy green arbor (our ceremony site), the classically elegant english garden, and the shady wooded area with the picturesque bridge and treehouse.
The barn is equally spectacular and was the perfect spot for our reception. We loved the built in bar, the lounge seating areas, and the loft for extra table space.
The other incredible part of choosing Silverbrook for your wedding is getting to work with Dotti. Dotti is one of the kindest and most welcoming people we've ever had the pleasure of meeting. She was so invested in our wedding and in making sure that we had the most special wedding weekend. Throughout our wedding planning process, we also met two of Dotti's wedding coordinators: Natalie and Sherri, both of whom were wonderful. Sherri ended up being the coordinator for our wedding and she did an amazing job. Everything ran so smoothly, and we were able to have a wonderful, stress-free wedding day.

I cannot say enough great things about Dotti and her beautiful venue/home. My (now) husband and I did a small micro wedding, but it did not lack in anything thanks to the special touches and generousness of Dotti.
We had our ceremony under the beautiful green arbor, although it was a hard choice because there were many options on the property that could have worked too. The after cocktail hour and reception were on the front porch and in the intimate dining room.
Dotti made sure that everything ran smoothly and was easy to communicate with. She made sure all vendors were contacted and that the day went without a hitch. Even with a small wedding, there was a lot to keep track of and it felt like she was a wedding coordinator- she was that amazing. She has clearly put her heart and love into this home and I cannot thank her enough for opening it up to my family. -

After Covid changed our original wedding plans, we decided to elope just the two of us with family and friends joining remotely on Zoom. I contacted Dotti about hosting our elopement only six weeks in advance. As soon as we visited, we knew the property was the perfect place for us to get married. The house is an incredible piece of American history, and the grounds have so many beautiful options for ceremony locations and photos. Even though she usually only hosts one wedding per week, Dotti was able to squeeze us in on a weekday.
From our first contact, everything about working with Dotti was an absolute pleasure. She happily accommodated all of our requests at no extra charge, including providing a gorgeous cake stand, beautiful china, and champagne flutes. In addition to being a wonderful host, Dotti also served as our officiant and wrote an incredibly beautiful ceremony for us.
I would highly recommend Silverbrook to anyone planning a wedding, large or small! -

Silverbrook Magic
If you’re looking for a wedding venue in the Leesburg area, look no further than Silverbook Farm. Silverbook is inviting, immaculately maintained, picturesque, and ran by the sweetest woman, Dot. Silverbrook’s grounds are stunning with gorgeous views everywhere you turn. We held our small ceremony in Dot’s boxwood garden and our brunch right on her back lawn with sweeping views in all directions. Her gardens are well-tended and offer stunning backdrops to all of your pictures.
What sets Silverbook apart from all of the other wedding venues we visited was Dot herself. Dot—who has lived on this farm since she was a child—was so warm, welcoming, thoughtful, and helpful from the first time we step foot on her farm and throughout the planning process. She was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to help us piece together a perfect vision for our special day. She also allows you to use her vintage china and other wedding decor free of charge which made decorating our day even more special. Dot is also a licensed wedding officiant. Not only did this eliminate one search we had to do, but Dot was incredibly eloquent and beautiful in her remarks that brought bride, groom and family to tears.
When COVID-19 began to drastically alter our wedding plans, Dot was the steady hand that helped guide us through the ordeal. We reached out to her right away to figure out what we were going to do when VA put restrictions in place. Dot allowed us to continue to hold our original date, a date later in the summer, and our wedding date in 2021, so that we had options to consider as Spring progressed and we learned more about what we could and couldn’t do for our wedding. Her bright attitude and flexibility was deeply, deeply appreciated during this stressful time.
We ended up holding a small wedding ceremony with our immediate family on our original wedding date and Dot also agreed to hold the same weekend in 2021 so that we may renew our vows and hold a one year anniversary party with our original wedding guests. We are so excited that we get to experience the magic of a Silverbrook wedding twice!

Silverbrook Farm was the first and last wedding venue we looked at. After our first visit and meeting Dot, we knew 100% that Silverbrook was the venue for us. The farm itself is absolutely breathtaking. The house is filled with character, the outside ceremony location we chose was beautiful, and the barn was unique and just the perfect fit. Dot is one of the sweetest women we have ever met, and truly made us feel like family. Not only did she play a huge role in the preparation of our wedding, she also officiated our ceremony. She did an amazing job making it romantic and personal. She has a huge collection of decorations which helped put the finishing touches on our day. Natalie was our coordinator and did an amazing job keeping us on schedule and making sure everything ran smoothly so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. All of our guests loved every aspect of Silverbrook. We would recommend them over and over!

Our experience at Silverbrook Farm was nothing but incredible. As soon as we visited the venue and met the owner Dot, we knew we were lucky to have found such a beautiful place to get married. The venue is gorgeous and has so many things to completely fall in love with - the history of the house, the grounds, the scenery, and all the hidden gems around the property. We felt so at home at Silverbrook, which is truly a testament to Dot. She is so welcoming and easy to work with. She has an entire shed of beautiful items you can borrow and incorporates details around the property you would have never even thought of! She truly knows how to make your day memorable. It’s also a great perk to have a wedding venue you can visit for years to come! We cannot rave enough about Silverbrook Farm - if you are looking for a magical place to get married, you just found it! -

Wow! Where to even begin? Silverbrook was the first and last venue that we looked at. Just pulling up the driveway, we knew that this was where we were to be married. The scenery is perfect. The venue itself it absolutely beautiful. But, the cherry on top is Dotti! Dot is definitely the heart of Silverbrook. She is so incredibly welcoming, and made the entire planning process easy and smooth. She helped us walkthrough all of our vendors, and made helpful suggestions. Every last detail was perfect. We were even able to have the rehearsal dinner at the farm, right on the porch! The grounds are just breathtaking and there are several locations to choose from for your ceremony and photos. Everything is just so beautifully landscaped, and we especially loved the chess garden. The location of our ceremony was perfect, with the mountains in the background. The barn is just as incredible. We were blown away at how gorgeous it looks at night! Dot even has a shed filled with items you can use for your special day, so you can save quite a bit of money using items she already has! The inside of the home is just stunning and we loved our stay the night of the wedding. Dot is a wonderful cook, and her breakfast is just amazing! Thank you, Dotti for making our wedding spectacular!!!! -

I don't even know where to start reviewing Silverbrook, and more importantly, Dottie. I found Silverbrook Farms by accident when looking for venues in the area, and fell in love with the photos on the website. I contacted Dottie and set up a time to come see the place as soon as possible. I knew on my drive in that I was already in trouble, the scenery of Northern Virginia in October was easy to fall in love with. But the minute I drove up, I was smitten. Dot greeted me with a hug and a glass of wine, and chatted with me all about the lovely history of the house and the land. The farmhouse is STUNNING, with just enough detail to be welcoming and eclectic without trying too hard. Every inch of the interior of the house is straight out of a magazine, with all the touches of family history. The gardens and grounds offer something for every taste, and beautiful in every season. The barn is well kept and turns out amazing in photos. The entire place is magical, and everything I had ever hoped for in a wedding venue. But all of that aside, the real gem is Dot. She is wonderful, kind, and warm and her influence is obvious all over the place. She is also willing to lend her expertise and knowledge to any question you may have, and she's organized and takes care of every detail. I did not worry about a single thing the entire day of my wedding - every minute was handled and if anything went wrong, I had no idea. I can't even begin to express how truly happy I am that I chose Silverbrook, and I wouldn't change a single thing. I am so grateful to Dot and to Natalie for making our wedding day the most amazing day of our lives so far, and I would tell anyone considering a wedding here not to even think of any place else, because you can't do better. Dot is a very special person who you will immediately connect with and realize you’d like her to officiate your ceremony. It truly was the most beautiful ceremony I’ve witnessed (and I’m not saying it because it was mine!) When a hurricane was nearly making landfall on our wedding day, Dot helped with our contigency plan. She also has many many decorations you can use that have been collected over the years, but honestly the natural beauty is unparalleled. We can’t wait to visit her at her B&B for years to come. PS- definitely bury the bourbon!

Rachel Sent on 09/21/2018My husband and I married at Silverbrook Farm 9.8.18. Our wedding was absolutely perfect. Dot (the owner/operator) IS Silverbrook. She is warm, beautiful, so accommodating. Dot told my then fiancé and I that it was important to her that we felt like we were getting married at home, and that totally resonated with us. For what you pay, the value is unparalleled compared to other venues we toured in the area. You get access to the house, barn, and outbuildings for the full week of your wedding. One wedding a week means the venue is able to be completely perfect for you and devoted to your needs. You and your friends/family can come and go as you please to set up for your big day. We also used Silverbrook for our rehearsal dinner location at no extra charge. Dot has sheds full of wedding decorations, silverware, dish-ware, and antique items completely available to create the wedding of your dreams. We stayed at Silverbrook on our wedding night, which was also included. Dot is available, willing and able to make your wedding exactly as you imagine it, and the beauty of Silverbrook is intoxicating. My guests can't get over the great time that was had by all and my husband and I had our dream wedding. Anna Sent on 10/03/2018Silverbrook Farm was the first and only venue we looked at for our September wedding - we instantly fell in love with it on our first visit! Silverbrook Farm is an absolutely beautiful place, but even more wonderful than the rustic elegance of the property was Dot Shetterly. From start to finish, we felt we were in a partnership with Dot. She provided gentle reminders, problem solved with us and encouraged us to use her antique place settings, decorations, and even flowers from her lovely garden. On the day of the wedding, Dot provided a delicious breakfast for the bride and bridesmaids and helped during the ceremony and reception. Our day-of coordinator, Heather, was also fantastic and made sure the rehearsal dinner and the wedding went perfectly. Working with the team at Silverbrook allowed for us to have a completely stress-free and enjoyable wedding weekend! We feel so lucky to have chosen Silverbrook and can't wait to go back to visit—it is so much more than just a pretty place!

Emily Sent on 06/20/2018When my husband and I started wedding planning, we had very little certainty about what we wanted. I wanted a spring wedding and he wanted a barn reception - beyond that, no idea. We toured Silverbrook (given that it had a barn) and knew immediately that it was the right place for us to get married. It's a gorgeous venue close to where I grew up, but the deciding factor was Dot, the owner. I believe she was put on this earth to ensure that couples have perfect wedding days. From the very beginning she encouraged us to stop by for visits with our friends and family, so that everyone would feel at home at Silverbrook by the day of the wedding. You will truly be in good hands with Dot and she will make sure that you are not plagued by last minute details. Here's a story to highlight how wonderful she is: We held our rehearsal dinner on the porch of Silverbrook - a casual affair for about 35 people. I had envisioned a Southern vibe with farm tables, greenery, and hurricane lamps. When the greenery that I ordered didn't arrive in time, she allowed us to clip greens and flowers from her property to decorate the tables with. It turned out ever more beautiful than I hoped and my stress melted away! Your guests will love Silverbrook and you will love Dot, I promise!

We had our wedding here in May of 2018 and it was everything my wife and I dreamed about and more. We had a Scottish themed wedding and the backdrop of the rolling hills were perfect. The owner was very gracious and had many recommendations during the planning process including vendors which we did use. Our DJ actually cancelled on us the night before and the owner was able to get us a replacement DJ with in a 24 hrs who worked out flawlessly. Thank you again Dot for making our special day one that we will never forget! -

Sarah Sent on 10/20/2017In writing my glowing reviews for all of my vendors, I saved Silverbrook Farm for last because I honestly don't know where to start! It was the most perfect venue that I can possibly imagine for my wedding. The house, barn, and gardens are absolutely beautiful and the views are stunning- I haven't gotten my pictures yet, but I know that they are going to be amazing given the tremendous beauty of the place. It is so clearly a labor of love.
What made my experience with Silverbrook Farm so outstanding, though, was truly the opportunity to work with Dot, the owner, and Lynn, my day-of coordinator. Throughout the entire planning process, both Dot and Lynn were responsive, professional, and coordinated perfectly with my other vendors (most of whom came recommended by Dot). As I was planning my wedding from out-of-town, this was so important to me- I never felt like I needed to worry about a thing. Dot and her team know how to plan a wedding, and they were so gracious in sharing their expertise with me and my parents. Dot also has an amazing collection of decor- everything from vases to bird cages to furniture- so I had to purchase very little for my wedding.
Beyond her expertise, though, Dot was just a joy to work with. From the first email I sent inquiring about open dates, Dot gave my the feeling that she was genuinely excited about my wedding. On the day of my wedding, I felt cared-for and calm, knowing that Dot and Lynn had everything under control. Everything went off without a hitch, and it was just a joy to be able to walk from the reception back to the house for the night. All of our guests raved about the venue and the event, and Dot and Lynn played a huge roll in making it such a perfect and memorable day.
