Our October 2025 wedding at Shadow Creek was absolutely perfect! First and foremost, the setting and space was exactly what we were looking for. With the rolling hills of Northern Virginia and plenty of green space and gorgeous florals, we knew our family and friends would find a new love for the region, and that the space would be the perfect backdrop for our wedding photos that we will adore and cherish for years to come. The layout of the space was perfect as we were able to host the welcome drinks/cocktail hour, ceremony, and reception in distinct areas on the property, allowing us to have a seamless flow between events throughout the evening.
Lori, the venue manager, was incredibly responsive and super helpful as we planned our wedding. Something we loved immediately about Shadow Creek is that it is purely a venue location that gave us room to select rentals and decorate the space to our desire, which was exactly what we were looking for! So it was incredibly helpful when Lori recommended vendors local to the area to help bring our vision to life.
The venue also has more than two options for a rain plan, which was something we had to consider knowing our wedding was during hurricane season. But thankfully, the weather cooperated beautifully and we were able to enjoy some fantastic sunset photos!
Shadow Creek also has associated rental properties close by, which served as the perfect getting-ready space for the bridal party. It was so convenient to have everything so central. Plus, the separate bridal and groom suites at Shadow Creek were the perfect places for the wedding party to change before the first look.
Overall, we were over the moon with our experience at the venue. The entire staff was so welcoming and truly made it the best day ever.Shadow Creek's reply:

Our wedding at shadow creek!
I could not recommend the shadow creek team more! Lori was absolutely incredible and helpful through the entire planning period. From assisting with vendors, tours of the property, and answering any questions we had. Our day was perfect, and it was all because of shadow creek and our amazing vendors. We had the most amazing day at Shadow Creek! From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. The staff went above and beyond—not only making sure everything went to plan but also keeping us calm when it rained right before the ceremony. They assured us our beautiful outdoor ceremony would still happen, and they made it work flawlessly. The venue is stunning—rustic, elegant, and surrounded by gorgeous views. Our guests loved every detail, from Gus the horse to the Hitch Bar outside. We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place to get married. My husband and I got married at Shadow Creek during May and we loved hosting our wedding at this venue! We knew from the first time we toured Shadow Creek that this would be the place we would get married. Shadow Creek is breathtaking and immaculately maintained. All of our guests complimented how picturesque the grounds are! But most importantly, the team at Shadow Creek brings the magic to life. They genuinely care— not just about how the day looks, but how it is experienced by the guests and the bride/groom. We were amazed by how smooth everything flowed. Whether it was the flexibility with weather plans, the excitement around including our family dog in the ceremony, or the easy accessibility for our older family members. It was clear that Lori and her team have thought of and are well prepared for everything. Overall, Shadow Creek was everything we dreamed of and more. Throughout the planning process, Lori was incredibly kind and accommodating, always willing to help to ensure all of our wedding questions or concerns were addressed. If you're looking for a gorgeous venue that truly considers the needs of all guests and that creates a memorable experience then Shadow Creek is the place. It offers the perfect blend of charm, hospitality, and thoughtfulness.
We also highly recommend having Gus (the horse) as part of the wedding! It was a blast to see the reactions of our guests and to look back on all the pictures that everyone took with Gus. To this day, all of our guests talk about how fun of a surprise it was to have a horse that people can interact with at the wedding.

Shadow Creek was the perfect venue for our wedding!! We had visited five or six other venues that were very nice but all had one thing or another that we couldn’t compromise on. One of the biggest things for us was wheelchair accessibility so that my 98-year-old grandma could attend. From the moment we arrived at Shadow Creek, we were blown away. Not only is it absolutely stunning inside and out, but it's also incredibly accessible—everything is on one level, which made it easy to navigate for all of our guests. The ceremony space was beyond picturesque, and the local cows even came up to the fence after our ceremony for pictures. Shadow Creek also has a horse you can rent, Gus, who was a huge hit with our guests! One of the owners, Lori, was responsive and answered my thousands of questions throughout the planning process. She helped us get into the venue and bridal suite early so we could start setting up and she was present for the whole event to make sure everything went smoothly. We also rented their Shiloh Air BnB which is a 30 second drive from the venue – beautiful property and it has a pool, which my now husband thoroughly enjoyed (in 70 degree weather…). All in all, we loved everything about Shadow Creek and truly could not imagine getting married anywhere else!!Shadow Creek's reply:

My husband and I had the absolute BEST wedding experience with Shadow Creek. We highly recommend booking your wedding here. From day one, Lori and her team were so great to work with. Their patience, calmness, and organization made for the best wedding possible.
Shadow Creek is also so beautiful! I cannot imagine getting married anywhere else. Gus is also a huge hit! We highly recommend having him at your wedding.

The Perfect Day
From the minute you pull in, you’ll know it’s a special place. Shadow Creek has the most gorgeous grounds with ample parking, a beautiful barn, and the most incredible sprawling views. Best Wedding Venue!
My husband and I got married at Shadow Creek on 8/24/2024 and we cannot recommend this venue enough! It is absolutely STUNNING - all of our guests could not stop gushing about both the outdoor ceremony space/views and the elegant indoor reception space. It has been over a month since the wedding and our friends and family are still talking about how beautiful the venue was! Lori and her team were also incredible to work with from start to finish and ensured everything ran smoothly both on our wedding day and throughout the entire planning process. Being an out of state couple, their flexibility and responsiveness were especially appreciated. We also rented out Shiloh across from the venue for our wedding weekend and loved our stay there - highly recommend. Amazing Wedding
We had our wedding at Shadow Creek on 8/10/24 and we couldn't have asked for anything more! We rented the venue starting at 9am for a 5:30pm ceremony and reception until 11pm. The property is so beautiful with multiple options for how you have your ceremony and cocktail hour. There is also a built in rain plan which was so comforting for us as a hurricane was approaching the week of our wedding! Luckily we had a beautiful day and it was certainly one of the best days of our lives, made complete by the stunning venue. We worked with Lori and Jimmy the most and they were SO accommodating, you don't even need to lift a finger on your wedding day. Book Shadow Creek, you won't regret it!Shadow Creek's reply:

My husband and I absolutely adored having our wedding at Shadow Creek! We moved to Purcellville prior to our engagement and we instantly knew that we wanted to get married in our favorite town. Imagine our surprise when we discovered a beautiful barn venue that was absolutely perfect so close to us! From the day we toured, we knew it was the one. The venue is beautifully designed, very spacious and the outdoor area speaks for itself. The bridal suite is amazing and perfect for getting ready in and the grooms suite was cozy and a great place for the guys to relax in! We highly recommend this venue for your wedding! My (now) husband and I got married here in April 2024, after touring the venue in October 2022, and it was the best decision ever. I still remember touring the venue after having seen a couple before hand and had one right after but I knew this was it. Lori was so great at imagining what the day could look like, we couldn’t not go with Shadow Creek. Since our wedding was in April we wanted a venue that had an equally beautiful indoor option and Shadow Creek did just that. Luckily the weather was beautiful and we had an outdoor ceremony.
Communication was excellent leading up to the wedding- I never had to follow up or be the first one to email them about anything. A month out we did a final walkthrough with our planner, caterer, and Jimmy (from Shadow Creek) and he was so great- asking and suggesting things we wouldn’t have thought of. He suggested a private last dance, and it was one of our favorite memories! The day of the wedding Jimmy made sure everything went smoothly, he even timed the barn door opening timing perfectly (yes, I was a little extra). Lori was there to help me fluff my dress before walking down the aisle and calmed my parents and my nerves before walking down the aisle. All my guests and vendors were raving about the venue! It is absolutely gorgeous and the amazing staff made it even better.
We also booked both their rental properties- the Shiloh (where my family stayed) and Still Meadow (where my bridesmaids stayed with my husband and I) - it’s also a beautiful space and we enjoyed getting ready here the morning of.

My husband and I chose Shadow Creek because of how beautiful its facilities are. Lori, Jimmy, and the rest of the team were exceptional, both leading up to the wedding and on the day. We felt taken care of and supported throughout. We appreciated that they had Plan A, B, C, and D for the ceremony location depending on the weather. I was very pleased with the decorations and furniture that came with the venue, as it cut costs for me down the road - including the arch for the ceremony and the couches for guests during cocktail hour. I received no complaints about their property or the staff - nothing but compliments!
Overall, I was extremely happy with our decision to have the ceremony and reception at Shadow Creek, and I would recommend them 100%.

It creates a romantic setting with panoramic views of rolling hills and farmland. The owner and her team were very accommodating and professional. We came to Shadow Creek for its background of rolling hills, towering trees, and cow dotted pastures, but stayed for the stunning interior space. The light wood interior is loaded with many accents from beautiful chandeliers to colorful divans to rustic barrels. The bridal suite is spacious and well decorated - we spent lots of time in there taking photographs of the bridal party (8 of us). Though the groomsmen spent a fair amount of time hanging out by the firepit enjoying cigars, they had their own space loaded with leather couches and other masculine touches. Lori Carlye, owner / manager and Jimmy, our support during the wedding, were both amazing - great with ideas and suggestions while being very professional and experienced in ensuring that everything went as planned. By all accounts, our guests loved the wedding and a large part of this was the beautiful surroundings in which it was held. Thank you, Lori for everything!Shadow Creek's reply:

Just beautiful!
Getting married at Shadow Creek was one of the best wedding decisions I could’ve made.
Shadow Creek was the first venue that we toured. The space is beautiful inside and out. The barn is beautifully decorated and has such nice accent pieces that just make it so romantic. The exterior of Shadow Creek is a huge selling point. The ceremony area is just amazing, with rolling hills behind you. It makes for amazing pictures.
I haven’t even mentioned how amazing the owner Lori is. She bent over backwards to make our wedding vision come to life. She has the best vendor recommendations and advice. She was so kind and easy to work with.
We also got Gus for cocktail hour and you will not regret it. He was such a crowd pleaser all of our guests were obsessed with him! Everyone was taking pictures and petting him. We had a couple kids who loved him but mostly the adults were huge fans. We’re not really horse people so we weren’t sure but he is just such a unique touch.
Overall we had such a nice time at our wedding and it wouldn’t have been the same without Shadow Creek and their amazing team!Shadow Creek's reply:

Absolutely in love with Shadow Creek and how our wedding day looked! The venue fits smaller weddings or larger ones perfectly. It rained on our wedding day so we had the ceremony under the portico and it was beautiful! Guests loved the venue and kept raving about how beautiful it was! Lori and her team were great! Best venue and Vendor, you won’t regret!
I don’t even know where to begin, Lori was amazing to work and with being a first time bride and not knowing what to expect she made the process not only easy but having such a beautiful venue made our our decision extremely easy for where we wanted our wedding! We also hired Jill Smith as our planner and florist, she’s also a manager at Shadow creek and my personal lifesaver through the planning process! Our wedding got moved up and we unexpectedly had to put together our wedding in three months instead of nine (you can imagine how stressful that is especially for a pregnant bride in law enforcement) Jill was simply a godsend for us! Lori and Jill both made our day amazing and memorable! Both extremely professional and responsive and I can’t express my Gratitude for how understanding and accommodating they were for our situation and us moving the date! Wonderful Venune!!!
Shadow Creek was an absolutely wonderful venue for our November wedding! It is beautiful and secluded. It has a great space in the front porch especially when the doors can be open for cocktail hour. All of the main porch doors were closed by November time for our wedding, but it was just warm enough that day to have some doors open and for guests to spill out into the courtyard. The bridal suite is large and beautiful. The groom suite is much much smaller but the grooms party made do getting dressed in turns or utilizing the bathrooms as well. The staff at Shadow Creek was extremely responsive from the time we visited to consider the venue to the actual event. My only slightly negative comment would be that some of the food at dinner was a little room temperature to cold. I am not sure if this is a factor of the catering company or the actual venue as the venue does not actually have a full size commercial kitchen so the catering company had to cook and keep food warm on site by other means. Otherwise, Lori (venue coordinator) was super nice, communicative, and helpful. The other venue staff was on top of everything throughout the whole event and even helped to move our floral arch from the ceremony to the reception. Overall I would definitely recommend Shadow Creek for a beautiful wedding!Shadow Creek's reply:

Smooth Sailing
We held our wedding ceremony and reception at Shadow Creek the end of September. Everything went as smoothly as we could have hoped! The team there has deep experience, was highly professional and responded to all queries very promptly. We were initially concerned that the venue was too cavernous for our smallish wedding of 100, but they worked with us to design a furniture layout that would feel more intimate. Searching for a wedding venue is the biggest part of planning. We wanted a venue that felt romantic, rustic, peaceful, modern, and could hold more than 100 guests. But ultimately, we wanted a venue that felt special. Shadow Creek was all of that for us. When we visited, even in an empty room/blank canvas, it felt right. Lori and her team take pride in being an amazing venue and it shows in how the property is maintained inside and out. The bridal suite is a dream and the garden gives every season a chance to shine. You want summer blooms? The hydrangeas are there. You want moody fall florals? The beautiful fall foliage of Purcellville is there. Bonus points, the views are just *chef's kiss*.
Overall, Lori and her team, especially Jimmy are the very best. They make it a priority to make sure your day goes smoothly and to make sure you are happy and taken care of. You really can't ask for a better team, especially one that works so well with other vendors! Shadow Creek will make you want to relive your wedding over and over again and have your guests and family talking about it for weeks and months to come (true story). We literally have no words to describe how beyond obsessed we are with Shadow Creek, Lori, and her fabulous team! From day one, Lori was soooo sweet and patient when we toured the venue. She made us immediately fall in love with her and the venue and we knew right away that we were going to be in capable hands. She was always so fast to respond via email that I felt like I was texting her rather than emailing. Best Venue and Staff!
I am very delayed in writing this review, but I am still on cloud 9 from my dream wedding at Shadow Creek back in June 2023. From the moment we stepped foot on the property when we were touring the venue, my husband and I knew Shadow Creek was where we wanted to get married. The venue is absolutely gorgeous both on the inside and outside. The property is very well maintained, and the landscaping and views of the farm are breathtaking. Throughout the planning process, Lori and her team were extremely responsive to any questions we had about venue, and they were extremely accommodating with any requests we had. But on the day of the wedding, Lori, went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was perfect. Lori let my bridesmaids and I into the bridal suite early to start hair and makeup, she came to the ceremony and helped open the barn doors to make sure my entrance to the ceremony was exactly how I pictured it, and after there was a downpour 30 minutes before our ceremony, Lori was out on the patio with a leaf blower drying the stones so we could have our ceremony outside. We rented the Hitched Bar for serving drinks during our cocktail hour which was an absolute hit for our guests. We also booked the Shiloh (the Airbnb across the street from the venue) for both the night before and night of our wedding. We had an absolutely lovely stay and highly recommend couples booking!
Everything about our wedding day was perfect! My husband and I feel so lucky we got married at such a beautiful venue with kind owners who truly care about their couples and making sure they have the most amazing wedding day. I can't recommend Shadow Creek enough!Shadow Creek's reply:

Best venue with great people
When looking for my wedding venue, this was the first venue I looked at, I fell in love with it but I had to be sure I wasn't letting my excitement get the best of me so I went to one other appointment I had made at another venue. Immediately walking in I knew that Shadow Creek was going to be where we had our wedding. Lori the owner? Amazing. The way she talked about how the day would go, where you would be, what you have with them, and being overall focused on the bride and groom you could just feel the compassion and love that she feels for what she does. You obviously want your guests to have a great time, but the day is truly for the bride and groom so it was nice to see the extra care in that. We had about 150 people at our wedding, there was plenty of space for tables and plenty of room for the dance floor without it looking empty. It was perfection. No one said one negative thing about the venue. It was the absolute perfect day. Lori was always so responsive and didn't make me feel silly for asking any questions that I had. Shadow Creek will go down in our friend group as the most epic wedding venue and staff! I truly cannot say enough kind words about how welcomed we felt from the moment we chose Shadow Creek to the day our wedding took place. We were in the hands of true professionals who made sure our wedding day was the best day of our lives! Each space of Shadow Creek is unique, gorgeous, comfortable, and versatile! Guests were able to mix and mingle on the porch, in the well groomed yard, and within the gorgeous modern barn decorated with purposeful decor and unique touches! Lori and her team made us feel special throughout the entire event and we had no need for a photo-booth, as Shadow Creek is so beautiful on its own that people had photo ops all over!! From the moment we visited Shadow Creek and met with Lori we knew we had to book this venue. Lori was kind, helpful, and calm. She explained everything so thoroughly and then took a few calls afterward to clarify any questions I had. The venue is so beautiful it doesn't need any selling :) But Lori and team really shined as the planning process went on. They answered questions IMMEDIATELY and were available anytime we needed. On the wedding day, we were met a really large unexpected thunderstorm and all the programs we had laid out on chairs outside started to get wet. I was pretty distraught but Lori sprang into action and started drying out the ones that had been salvaged, put them into a basket and they were fine! She and Jimmy are just such professionals I was in awe. They've clearly done this a million times and done it really well. After the storm passed the venue was the most beautiful setting I've been in. Guests wouldn't stop gushing. I couldn't recommend Shadow Creek more highly. Shadow Creek is a fantastic venue with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. The way it's set up gives so many options for ceremony sites! We had to move our wedding indoors because of the weather and the team made sure everything was perfect.
I can't say enough good things about the experience we had. The owner Lori is amazing. She is attentive, caring, and highly responsive to emails. We never had any communication issues thanks to Lori! Jimmy is another Shadow Creek employee and he is truly a gem. He's caring and wants your wedding day to be perfect. I can't say enough good things about Jimmy! My husband and I talked about how great he was for several days after the wedding. The Shadow Creek staff makes coordinating with other vendors a breeze, which ultimately makes the couple's life so much easier!

From the second we took a tour, Shadow Creek was our dream wedding venue. Couples come in and out of their doors every week but when it is your day the Shadow Creek Wedding team goes above and beyond to make you feel like their priority. A few examples: there was a downpour about an hour before our ceremony. As soon as the sun came out the owner Lori was outside with a leaf blower drying the patio. We were also short a few chargers for plates and Lori ran home to grab some similar ones for us to use. She even held my dress while I walked across wet grass and before I walked down the aisle. All things you might expect from a good friend or family member, but feel so special coming from a wedding venue. We had a completely stress free experience because Shadow Creek has a plan B for almost every possible situation and ensured that all of the details we went over in our month out walk through were executed exactly as we discussed. We felt so lucky to get married in such a beautiful venue with owners that truly care about their couples. The cherry on top was the guest of honor, Gus, who joined us for cocktail hour. Gorgeous wedding venue, incredible staff, and Gus!
Shadow Creek Wedding & Events was the perfect venue for our 115 person rustic, cozy, Fall, November wedding! The renovated horse barn fit the feel my husband and I were looking for, between the gorgeous chandeliers, to the wood beams, to the incredible landscape (including cows!) and of course Gus, the horse. Lori and her team were incredible to work with from the moment we scheduled our first tour to our departure after the festivities. My husband and I unexpectedly moved from VA to NJ in the middle of our wedding planning and Lori helped to ensure our relocation did not hinder our walk-through and other scheduled meetings. Lori always responded warmly and quickly to our emails and made us feel at ease, even with our numerous questions. We were provided with a thorough list of recommended vendors, which was extremely helpful in our long-distance planning. My husband and I felt so taken care of by Shadow Creek and are so grateful we choose this venue. Our guests were blown away (many were from out of state and had never experienced the beauty of Loudon County). We booked shadow creek immediately after visiting and cancelled all other venue tours because of the sheer beauty of the land, the reception area, and the overall feel. Of all the decisions made for our wedding, we think booking Shadow Creek was the best one. Lori and Jimmy make the experience even more amazing and their hands-on approach makes every moment of your wedding feel special. Our family couldn't believe how beautiful the venue was and many got to get within feet of cows who visited the fence near the venue. We loved shadow creek and many of our family and friends say it was one of the most beautiful wedding venues they've been to. Shadow Creek made our dreams come true!
When my fiancé and I toured Shadow Creek, we instantly knew it was where we wanted to get married. Not only were the grounds and barn absolutely beautiful, but Lori and her team were so welcoming and kind that the venue already felt familiar and comfortable to us. The barn on our wedding day was even more beautiful than we envisioned. I will never forget walking into the space before the reception began and seeing the barn lit up with the twinkle lights and candles that we had on each table - it was such a dream. After the wedding, our guests kept telling us how beautiful the venue was, and we couldn't agree more! In addition to a beautiful barn, the grounds of the venue are stunning. After the ceremony, my husband and I took a moment to take everything in and looked out over the beautiful hills and the cows roaming it. It was so peaceful, and an image that I will always remember. No better venue!
Booking Shadow Creek was the best decision we could have made. From the first time we visited and met with Lori we knew we loved Shadow Creek and our wedding day was everything we could have hoped for and more. So many people complimented the venue as well as the venue staff. Working with their recommended vendors makes your life during the planning process SO much easier, outside of catering we also chose mostly vendors who have worked at Shadow Creek and I truly believe it made our day run so smoothly. Lori is so great to work with, from our first visit, to our walk through, all the questions in between, she is even there on wedding day. Although we had planned to get married outside, we actually chose to move our ceremony inside on a hot summer day and we weren't even upset about it because the inside options are just as beautiful as the outside. Cocktail hour out front on the porch, and of course with Gus, is the perfect setting. There's so many details, the landscaping made for incredible photos!
We also chose to book the Shiloh which we were so happy with. It gave my girls and I all a place to sleep the night before, a place to relax and do hair and makeup the morning of, and my husband and I spent our wedding night there and it was so peaceful to wake up there.Shadow Creek's reply:

We could not have chosen a more perfect place to get married than Shadow Creek! It surpassed our wildest dreams in every way. We knew when we wanted to get married in Virginia in July that we might have quite a bit of weather to contend with. Between heat waves and summer thunderstorms, we really wanted to make sure we had an indoor ceremony option that was as beautiful as the outside. Boy does Shadow Creek deliver in that regard!!! Our wedding day ended up being unseasonably cool (72 in July?!) but rainy all morning and early afternoon. We were already planning to do the ceremony inside but because of the rain we were extra glad we had such a fabulous option. The bridal suite is beautiful and such a fun place to get ready! We had a large wedding party (9 bridesmaids, bride, two moms) but we had plenty of space in the room with space to spill out into the venue to eat and steam dresses. It was raining during our first look but at Shadow Creek you truly don’t need to worry about rain! We did the first look on the covered portico which was a GORGEOUS and perfect back up option. The portico is beautiful and still gives you that natural light. The rain and clouds made our indoor ceremony feel extra cozy and intimate. The lights inside make everything seem so magical! The rain stopped during the ceremony so we were able to have the cocktail hour outside (in the perfect weather!) and take some photos out back on the patio with the stunning rolling hills as a backdrop. The space is absolutely perfect for the reception with the dance floor right in the middle of the action! As I said, the lights just make everything feel so dreamy - like you’re dancing under the stars but with air conditioning! :) We had an absolutely fabulous experience working with Lori and the Shadow Creek staff. Lori is INCREDIBLE! From our very first outreach to the days after the wedding she was quick to respond, eager to give advice and just such a wonderful and sweet person to work with. The care and thoughtfulness she gives to her couples and families is top notch. We had great experiences with the preferred vendor list and highly recommend going off her suggestions! Shadow creek was the perfect venue for our wedding. We were so excited to find it because I had always dreamt of having my horse at my wedding. They not only allowed that but have a stall for that purpose! Not to mention it’s gorgeous!
Lori is extremely easy to work with and is very accommodating and responsive. They also allowed us to postpone our wedding due to COVID with no issues at all.

And so many others! Our guests couldn’t stop complementing this venue and all that came with it! Luckily, even though our wedding was in December, it was a gorgeous 65 degree day! What better way to enjoy the rolling fields behind this location, with luscious green grass and wonderful evergreen trees to take pictures in front of, to make the bride stand out even more on her once in a lifetime special occasion! It was hard to stop taking First Look and Family photos because we knew all of them would just turn out so good with the perfect picturesque scenery all around us; and that was just the exterior!
Inside was a whole new wonderland, done up just as perfectly as you can envision. The light-colored wood barn interior makes the white lights sparkle and reflected dazzlingly off our dinnerware and centerpieces. And while our florist picked out some awesome items to accentuate the natural beauty of the wood, it all came together due to the grandiose feeling of the large center stage area for dancing. There is just so much you could do with that space, it should be able to fit any idea you have in your head! The bride made me (the groom) cut things just because the space WAS so accommodating, she knew if I even brought it up they would find a way to make sure it worked! And not only just worked, but worked perfectly and looked fantastic.
They also have an outdoor space with fire pit and lawn games, you can request a horse to come take photos with (trust us - your guests will gush for photos with Gus!), and you can even rent the ‘Hitched Bar’ an outdoor bar set-up we used for hot chocolate, spiked hot drinks, and s’mores ingredients for those late night sweet treats (others have used it for a whiskey bar, cigar bar, and other fun specialty drink and food items).
Shadow Creek will never disappoint, but it is certainly more than that. If you want your most special day to be absolutely perfect - one that you won’t have the slightest doubt or regret about for the rest of your lives - it’s the perfect venue to begin the rest of your life with the person you love!

The venue sets the whole tone for your wedding, and Shadow Creek blew us away from the first time we toured the property. It was exactly what we were looking for and SO stunning. It's also incredibly versatile; ceremony on the patio? Sure! Ceremony on the covered portico? Sure! Ceremony in the barn? Sure! Lori and her family were always willing to suggest different options but left all of the final decisions up to us. It never took more than a few hours to hear back from them about the (many!) questions I asked throughout the planning process. When my husband and I were looking for wedding venues, we wanted something rustic/were looking for a barn. When we came across Shadowcreek and visited, we knew it was the place for us! The views from the property are incredible - especially if you have the ceremony out back. We had our wedding in November and it was a chilly day so it was nice to have the patio enclosed for our cocktail hour. The reception hall was huge and accommodated all of our wants - including space for a photo booth, ice cream bar, etc! The bridal and groom's suites are also very spacious and super cute. While venue shopping, we went everywhere, tried all different types of venues in so many locations. We're not even from VA, but had to have our wedding here. Shadow Creek is the best for a few reasons: 1. Their ownership. Lori is SO personable, makes you feel like you're the only bride she's working with, is flexible the small ownership at a venue so you don't feel like you're one in a million is key. 2. The location is GORGEOUS. Close to Leesburg, easy for people to get to and from, and the landscape is just perfect any time of year, rain or shine. And Lori's decor-- the conversation spaces and furniture, wine barrels, the hutch, fireplace, bridal and grooms suites all feel homey but fancy all in one. 3. It has it all. Clean, updated, rustic, chic, whatever your vibe is, Shadow Creek will work. I wanted rustic chic and that's what we had. It has AC and Heat and we knew that in October, you never knew what you'd get and it was a must. Plus, easily accessible ceremony locations for elderly or those who have a harder time walking on grass, etc. HIGHLY recommend, this venue helped truly make our wedding day a success.Shadow Creek's reply:

Shadow Creek was an absolute dream venue. It's absolutely breathtaking inside and out. The vintage furniture, hitched bar, and Gus add such a unique and special touch to your big day. Gus is an absolute must!! People took more pictures with him than me! Lori was an absolute blessing to work with. We, unfortunately, had a 2020 wedding canceled at a different venue (horrible experience) and once I met Lori I immediately saw the difference between someone who truly cares about the weddings, brides/grooms, & families and someone who is in it for the money, We felt so at ease with Lori and finally felt excitement about planning our big day. My husband, mother and I toured maybe 5 venues before pulling up to Shadow Creek. As soon as we started walking up to the doors, I looked over to my mom and we both instantly knew this was the one. The scenery is breathtaking. The bridal suite is AMAZING! And of course the interior is simply to gush over. Lori is the definition of "professional" and knows how to run her business. She provided a list of preferred vendors and they are preferred for a reason! She helped shape our dream team and our wedding was absolutely gorgeous in every way. If you are asking yourself... "Do we really need this hitch bar?" or "Do we need to have Gus during cocktail hour?" The answer is always YES! They were such a hit and still a highlight to our reception. Shadow Creek was the setting for our magical wedding day - it's an absolutely gorgeous venue with beautiful landscaping that really adds to your photos. Lori is so professional, responsive, warm, positive and genuinely cares about you as a couple and wants you to have the wedding of your dreams. Her list of recommended vendors was so helpful too - they are all seasoned pros so this is key in executing a seamless event!
The grounds are beautiful and you will see various spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour, etc. I also appreciated how even though the venue was large enough to accommodate all of our guests, it was at the same time compact enough where older guests like my grandparents could still navigate around.
Also, we had a lot of out-of-town guests so it was so convenient that it wasn't too far away from Dulles airport.
We also rented the Hitched Bar which is soooo darling and I would absolute recommend. The possibilities with that are endless - have your florist do a grounded installation to spruce it up!

When we walked into Shadow Creek and their gorgeous facility, we knew right away we were going to get married there. We had our ceremony outside on the intimate (with views yet covered out of the sun) side porch and our reception inside of the "created" classy barn that was warm, inviting and romantic. The owner/Lori was not only professional but also very easy to work with and handled all of the details beautifully for us. She has a warm personality and it was truly a pleasure to also get to know her. We felt blessed our dates lined up and they were available too during/after COVID lightened up and her recommendations made our day run so smoothly as to the music, food and our ceremony. Wow! The most amazing venue run by the most amazing people. Before visiting Shadow Creek, I just had a really good feeling about it. Something about it just made me think… this is the one! After the first time visiting and meeting Lori, I knew immediately that gut feeling was correct. My husband and I fell in love and booked on the spot. This venue is absolutely perfect. Gorgeous, has great flow, and really makes for an enjoyable day for guests and everyone involved (including other vendors!). It really was designed with EVERYTHING in mind and everything is picturesque and beautiful.
