Pittsburgh Candy Buffet was amazing to work with on our wedding day. The candy table was absolutely beautiful, but even more importantly it was delicious! Our guests really enjoyed the special treats and there wasn’t a piece left at the end of the night. They were a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend Pittsburgh Candy Buffet.

I was very excited to see my Candy Buffet. The set was nice but wasn't what I ask for as far as my Theme being "Bling". But it was still elegant. The colors of the candy was perfect, went great with my wedding colors. Overall I was pleased with Pittsburgh Candy Buffet doing my wedding. Chris was a great person to work with. If any Brides are looking to do a Candy Buffet for your wedding, book Pittsburgh Candy Buffet.

Chris created exactly what we wanted for our wedding! Our guests absolutely loved the vintage candy store and accompanying candy that he provided. Once the candy store opened, the guests formed a line around the room to fill up their boxes with candy! We received numerous compliements from all of our guests and from the venue where the event was held. Chris was professional, prompt and delivered what he promised. I would recommend, The Pittsburgh Candy Buffet to anyone who is looking for a unique idea for their wedding - the guests will love it!

When I first heard about Pittsburgh Candy Buffet, I knew I had to have it! After meeting with Chris, there was no doubt this would be a highlight of our wedding! The ideas Chris came up with were wonderful. I had no idea what I wanted, but knew that it needed to go with our black and gold "Pittsburgh" themed wedding (not football themed). I had come up with an idea for a "Wedding Towel" designed after the "Terrible Towel" and Chris suggested they print them for us. I gave him what we wanted, he tweaked it and they turned out better than I had hoped for. So much better than us doing it ourselves. He also came up with the awesome idea to have the iconic Pittsburgh's bridges as our candy buffet display. Each guest received a wedding towel and box of candy as their favor. As suspected, both things were a huge hit! We have been married almost four months and our family and friends are still talking about the candy buffet. You can't go wrong with Pittsburgh Candy Buffet!! :)

I cannot say enough about Pittsburgh Candy Buffet. My husband and I really wanted a unique area in our wedding venue that would also serve as gifts for our guests. When Preston (my husband) suggested the candy buffet & s'more wagon in front of the wedding coordinator, she suggested we didn't need to hire a professional to do such a thing, and the hall would set up everything for us if we wanted a candy table. Wrong! We decided instead to work with Chris and Jennifer @ Pittsburgh Candy Buffet, and I can't even describe in words how beautiful, unique, and popular our "candy store" turned out. Chris asked me what the "theme" of the wedding would be, and I said "vintage". That's it. We ended up with a stunning tent in the corner of our hall with awesome props, matching candy boxes on every table setting, unique vintage candies (think Charleston Chews & penny candies, candy cigarettes, etc.) plus a s'more bar where our guests were able to choose different types of marshmallows for their sandwich (bacon marshmallows, who knew?!) We have been married for 5 months, and people still talk about it. Best of all it was so affordable for what we got - and they will work with any budget you ask them to. They have never done the same buffet twice - it's always totally unique. Unfortunately, I can't upload photos on here, but "Like" them on Facebook and check out their photos - our wedding is the album titled "Vintage Candy Buffet & S'mores Wagon". You will not be disappointed! Thanks Chris & Jen!

Chris was so great to work with! I absolutely LOVED our candy display and the custom signage was perfect with our wedding theme! Pittsburgh Candy Buffet met all of my expectations and more! Chris was even kind enough to make a candy addition a week before the wedding! I cannot say enough great things about Pittsburgh Candy Buffet! They are truly amazing! All of my guests loved the custom boxes and the display was perfect! Thank you so much!

WOW is all I can say. My husband and I had a "Space" themed wedding, where we had our ceremony at a planetarium, and the reception at a mansion-turned-art-gallery. We met with Chris at the Strip District location of Grandpa Joe's and once we told him about what we wanted, everything just fell into place. He designed an amazingly beautiful buffet of space themed candy which included Moon Pies, Astronaut Ice Cream, Mars Bars, etc etc etc! He used graphics from my invitations for the labels, and lighted stands to create a wonderful, other-worldly aesthetic. My only regret is that by the time my husband and I were able to make it to the table, it was completely decimated with almost no candy left! It was a big hit, and a delightful addition to our reception.

Chris did our candy buffet for our wedfing June 22nd, 2014. He did a very nice display and incorporated our wedding colors. He also worked with us as we had purchased most of our candy prior to meeting him. We are however, dissapointed that they printed the wrong year for the wedding date on our souvenir boxes. Instead of 6/22/2014 it read 2013.. We still cant understand how such a mistake was made when 115 boxes were labeled and put on guest tables. Additionally, I emailed Chris about it as I expected to hear from him after the wedding since he was made aware of the mistake. In my email, I thanked him for his work, but mentioned my dissapoinmnet as we hired him to make sure everything was right. I also recommended they have addition proofing so these mistakes can be avoided. Needles to say I have not heard back from anyone at Pittsburgh Candy. I Would recommend their displays but strongly recommend proofreading their job..no one wants to have the wrong date printed on their souvenirs.

I would never recommend Pittsburgh Candy Buffet or Grandpa Joe’s Candy for a candy buffet. I was putting together a candy bar for my future daughter-in-law’s bridal shower. I went to Grandpa Joe’s to see their boxes in person. I saw the ones that I liked and ordered the labels. The label was e-mailed to me in a timely fashion, but the colors were not to my liking. I told them that the colors needed changed. Emily of Pittsburgh Candy Buffet was on vacation and said she would change it upon her return. I immediately asked if they would be done in time as we were on a tight deadline, but received no response. Two days later I called Grandpa Joe’s. They said they would make the change and e-mail me the proof for approval. I never got the proof. I called again three days later and they said they would check into it and someone would call me back that day. I never got a return call. Two days later I got an e-mail from Emily with the revised proof, which I approved, and the next day the labels and boxes were ready. I was unable to get there until the day before we needed the boxes. When I picked up the boxes, as soon as I looked at them I told the girl at the counter that I didn’t like them. Her response was that they don’t have anything to do with them. I called Grandpa Joe’s the next day to complain and was again told that they don’t have anything to do with the boxes and that I had to contact Emily. I e-mailed Emily the next day and advised her that I was very dissatisfied with the labels. She knew that I ordered the rectangular gable boxes, but the labels that I got were 2” squares. They looked ridiculous, many of them weren’t centered on the boxes and some were crooked. Her reply e-mail stated that she was sorry that I didn’t like the boxes and basically that I should have picked them up sooner. So buyer beware when dealing with these vendors.

If you are not a large business owner or have around $1,000 to spend on a candy buffet for your wedding, this IS NOT for you!! I met Chris at a bride show and was really impressed by his work. He told me that if I booked within a certain date, I would get free boxes and labels. Later on, my fiance and I met with Chris to discuss our vision for our candy buffet. Chris was super nice and really got us excited about what he could create based upon how we met at McDonald's. After our meeting, he sent us a proposal that was way out of our budget and charged us for the boxes and labels we were supposed to get for free. I emailed him shortly after to explain that these prices would not work and that maybe we could just go simple. Chris replied back that he based the numbers on 180 guests instead of 150, which didn't make sense since it was still way too high for 150 when calculated. After a little back and forth, he ensured me that his vision stayed the same and that he would meet our price range that also included free boxes and labels. To make a LONG story short, our candy buffet WAS NOT what he had proposed to us. Our candy buffet was supposed to have a large McDonald's sign, but did not and each jar was supposed to be labeled with the type of candy per our proposal and was not. He told us later that night that he didn't want to take away from our beautiful room, which I think is a load of BS. He must have not have created it in time because after setting up our proposals, he never showed us any of the artwork until 2 days before my wedding! Brides, do not waste your time or money!! This added extra stress to wedding planning than it was worth. You are better off making your own candy buffet! I sure wish I did!! And to top it off, I tried to contact Chris 2 weeks after my wedding several times on a Monday and Tuesday (left voicemails) and he never returned my calls. Check out my $600 candy buffet in my profile. I bet Chris at The Pittsburgh Buffet won't do anything to make this better or to reimburse what he said he would create and failed to do. So disappointing!

I met Chris at multiple Bridal Shows and was impressed with his Smore's bar. I decided that I wanted him to create a Smore's bar for our wedding favor, since he stated he uses homemade marshmallows and creates elaborate displays. I met with him in person where he showed me several different set ups and had me try and select different homemade marshmallows. He was great in person and had me very excited about our favor. He sent me a proposal that stated in detail everything we had discussed in person. However, what we actually received on our wedding day was drastically different. The set up was very poorly put together and took very minimum effort. I had him create a sign with a saying, but he covered half of it with pre-packaged smores placed in Chinese food boxes instead of the bags he had me send him pictures of. The most frustrating thing was that instead of the 3 flavors of homemade marshmallows we were promised and had tried, we were given Jiffy Puff marshmallows. We were also supposed to have two types of chocolate, but there was only one. The attendant was paid to stay the entire night, but when my husband and I went over to the Smore's bar an hour before the reception ended, she was completely packed up. Despite being told that she was paid to stay until 11pm, she still left. The leftover supplies were supposed to be left behind since we paid per person, but were not. I contacted Chris and told him how displeased I was and he did not respond. It took me threatening to contact the BBB to receive a response. Even so, he never apologized or admitted that anything was done incorrectly. If we would have known that these were the services we were going to receive, we would have created our own s'mores favor that probably would have only cost us around $100 as opposed to the $700 we paid for 130 guests and could have looked nicer. Do not waste your money on this deceiving service. Also, do not support Grandpa Joe's Candy Shoppe since it is owned by Chris.
