    Review for Piper & Sloan Weddings:

    Having been in the wedding industry as a professional DJ for over 14 years and having been part of more than 800 weddings, I've had the privilege of working with numerous wedding planners. However, among the myriad of planners I've had the chance to collaborate with, Jen and Sydney from Piper & Sloan Weddings truly stand out.

    Every interaction with them has been nothing short of exemplary. Their meticulous attention to detail, their unwavering commitment to going above and beyond for their clients, and their impeccable sense of organization and foresight make them a pleasure to work with. These are qualities that aren't just essential for a smooth-sailing wedding, but also for setting the foundation for a memorable event that resonates with love and joy.

    Furthermore, it's not just about their professional prowess. It's also about the genuine care and personal touch they bring to each wedding.     Passionate, Professional and a Joy to Work with!

    Jen and Sydney with Piper & Sloan are such a stellar duo! I can't say enough incredible things about working with them. As a wedding photographer we have worked together on 3 weddings. They treat clients, guests and vendors with a kindness, enthusiasm, and attentiveness to detail that is unmatched by any other wedding planner I have ever worked with. They make sure everyone's needs are met throughout the wedding and have very good communication leading up to the big day. I always know that I'm going to have a great day when we work together.     The best wedding planning team on the face of the earth. Full stop.

    Jen and team were amazing. My original day of coordinator canceled due to a family emergency 3 weeks before my wedding. Jen stepped in and made sure everything about the day was perfect. Jen communicated clearly, was there for me long before the day of and was all about the details. She brought great ideas to the table but also incorporated and enhanced my own. She was also SO fun to have with me the day of and made me feel completely at ease. Could not recommend Jen highly enough!

    Hire them and be present for your special day

    Jen and team were on time, on point, professional, responsive, knew and worked well with all the rental companies and vendors we were working with, both well ahead of time and with those last minute pinches, are educated, sharp, and come day of, were calm and cool through everything, allowing my wife and I to simply be present and enjoy our day, knowing with full confidence that she and team had everything handled. Total bosses who know the balance between being celebratory and supportive of us while being all business with everyone they needed to be. Couldn't have asked for more.     Seamless Coordination and Kind Professionalism

    Jen was everything I could have wanted for a day of coordinator, and then more. All of her communication prior to the wedding left me feeling in good hands on the day of - I never felt like I was waiting for her on anything. On the day, she was a calming presence taking care of all the details throughout - ensuring food placement was correct, welcome tables set up, making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be and taking care of adjustments as necessary. But she and her team were more than 'advertised' duties - when I got back to the hotel room that night I fully expected to walk into the hurricane my bridesmaids and I left, and instead saw a clean room with little decorations from our wedding and flowers moved from the ceremony to the bedside. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone, and wish her business all the success.

    Jen was the Wedding Planner of My Dreams!

    Jen and her team were the best decision we could have made for our wedding! If you are looking for a wedding planner that is extremely detail oriented, an incredible communicator, and overall so lovely to work with, you can't go wrong with Piper & Sloan Weddings. I really appreciated the way that Jen went above and beyond to ensure everything on our wedding day went smoothly and was executed to perfection. She was so on top of every detail and created the Wedding Timeline of my dreams! She kept me in the loop when necessarily but also got so much done behind the scenes and communicated with vendors in a way that saved us so much stress and money. Day of Jen kept everyone from the wedding party, family, and vendors on schedule and was so calm and helpful throughout the entire process! She's truly the best, so professional, and fun! 100% recommend.

    The best decision you'll make for your wedding!

    Out of all the decisions that went into planning our wedding, having Jen on our team was hands-down one of the best choices we made. Her calm and warm energy, combined with a sharp eye for the nitty-gritty event planning details made it easy for us (and our families!) to relax and truly take in every moment.

    We had to plan (and re-plan) our wedding over the course of two years due to Covid and made tons of changes along the way. We ended turning our event into a two-day wedding weekend celebration, which required TONS of extra planning and leg-work. Jen is an incredible listener and collaborator, and helped us bring all of our ideas for a unique, down-to-earth experience to life. If you’re even thinking about hiring Jen to coordinate your wedding - DO IT! You won’t be disappointed!!

    Jen is hands down the best!

    Jen ensured every detail of our special day was taken care of from start to finish! We had done an initial walk through at our venue in 2019 and ended up postponing, she was so flexible in making sure the new date worked! she met with us about a month before our big day and from there she helped with every detail, responded to emails quickly and got in touch with all of our vendors when I couldn't! The rehearsal went seamlessly and the day of was an absolute dream! he made my dream a reality! I could not have asked for anything more!!

    Professional, calming, and creative!

    I really loved working with Piper & Sloan. From the moment I talked with Jen on the phone I felt immediately comforted by her. She was professional, organized, easy to work with, listened to what I wanted, and had cleaver ideas and suggestions. I would hire Jen again in a heart beat and recommend her to all my friends!! We hired her for a partial planning package.

    Jen was absolutely THE best wedding coordinator. Jen and her team made my day seamless, beautiful, and at ease.     Organized & Friendly

    I was so happy to find Jen to help coordinate my wedding day. I knew there were going to be so many details and we needed support to make everything run smoothly. Jen was so personable and helpful. She helped us create lists and get clear on everything that needed to happen beforehand, and then took care of all the details we needed on the day of. I highly recommend Jen and having someone help coordinate your wedding day so you can sit back, relax and enjoy :)

    Sept 2019 Wedding

    Jen Harrison provided excellent organization skills and process keeping the event on track and keeping track of all the details. Her ideas were on trend as well as reasonably priced. She has a warm personality, and is talented in working with difficult people or vendors with care and diplomacy. She did our event with grace and professionalism. I highly recommend Jen Harrison to plan an event. She will make it special.

    Made easy for everyone

    As a DJ I have worked with many coordinators and Jen stood out as one that made the wedding happen with ease, kindness and efficiency. If she made it easy and wonderful for me to do my job I am more than sure it went even more so for the bride and groom. All I saw were smiles and hugs all night.

    One of worst experiences ever

    Jen totally dropped the ball on the days prior to the wedding. She was good at emailing vendors for nine months prior to, but fell apart when needed the most. There were guests with table assignments at the reception, but no table at which to sit. She said they had not RSVP'd. There were empty seats for people who had declined. She failed to distribute hundreds of dollars worth of dance props, all of which sat in their boxes unopened. She failed to create a space for the groom that we had reviewed for months. Again, decorations purchases, lay unopened. She failed to tell the bartending staff of the specialty drinks that we had gone over. There were very few vendors (26 total) who had a positive experience with her. She upset the venue owner to the point of being told the "get off (my) property." The tent dimensions were wrong. The list of complaints goes on and on.

    Dear Louise,

    Saying that “table assignments were obsolete” is more than a little misleading. Though the tent was 2 - 3 feet narrower than I expected from my conversations with the rental company, as I have reiterated a number of times, the size of the tent didn’t change the overall layout of the tables. Every dining table fit, as planned, under the tent, according to my diagrams. This was an incredibly minor “miscalculation” and had more to do with the recommended size of the tent based on the expertise of the rental company rep who came out for a site visit prior to recommending a tent size appropriate for the space. She recommended a 49’ x 66’ tent, which is what we received. You and I both though it would cover the full width of the patio, but the final tent came just shy of that width. It wasn’t a miscalculation as much as a very minor misunderstanding that, again, didn’t change anything about the table layout or dining capacity.

    The seating chart was printed (the proof of which was approved by you) according to the seating chart you provided to us. We had an email exchange after the chart had gone to print, where some updates were made on guests who would be attending or who had declined last-minute. Because no additional edits could be made to the chart, and because guests were assigned tables but not seats (since everyone was served the same entree unless they had indicated on their RSVP that they had an allergy) we kept the layout of the original diagram, knowing going into wedding day, that two guests would not be listed on the seating chart but would need to be directed to open seats.

    When I created the table diagram, I did so with the exact number of seats each table could comfortably accommodate. Because of the split location of this wedding, with ceremony being held at the family property and dinner and reception being held several miles away with very little cell service and no wifi, communication between myself and my team at both locations simultaneously was challenging. It made it tough to catch that there was an error at 3 of the round tables where 10 people were listed (and I believe intended to be squeezed in), but only 8 seats were shown on the diagram, because a 60” table comfortable seats just 8. My mistake. We hate when things like that happen, and we corrected it as quickly as possible so all guests were seated by the time dinner service began.

    The groom’s space, as you mentioned, was discussed, lots of ideas were shared, and you confirmed that you purchased a race-car cake, a model race-car, a racing hat, a printed “Brake For Cake” sign and flag-shaped stir sticks. Every single one of these items were set up by my team prior to the surprise reveal of this room.

    During our conversations about the room we came to call the “Pit Stop,” we also noted that we wanted to stay away from making it look like a child’s birthday party and you indicated that you wouldn’t be investing in the pricier items that we found for you.

    During the setup of this space we did find that, in unlabeled boxes which nobody told us existed that were set in the back room of the venue without explanation, that there were additional plastic flag banners and plastic checkered tablecloths, which my team did incorporate on the tables. It sounds like it wasn’t to your liking. I found out via email after the wedding that you believed there would a balloon arch in the Pit Stop. Given that I’ve never built a balloon arch and it isn’t part of my company’s offerings, had I known this was something you wanted, we could have booked another vendor for this item - though, in my humble opinion, nothing says “child’s birthday party” like a race-car themed balloon arch. We’re sorry you didn’t have this item.

    Had you consulted us on the decorations you purchased, walked us through the items, or told us they existed at all prior to wedding day, we may have been able to plan additional setup time for the Pit Stop. Given that you didn’t communicate with us about your purchases of decor, we proceeded with setup as it was discussed and planned. Because Piper & Sloan is not a “party decorating” company, our contracted responsibility to place personal items such as guestbooks, family photos, guest favors, etc. doesn’t lean into items like balloon arches, streamers, bunting, etc.

    Much like the additional Pit Stop decor, we weren’t consulted on the purchase of flashing light up party props. These, too, were in unmarked boxes that we didn’t know existed until my team was asked to pass them out, which they did, until guests began refusing additional items. A person can only hold so many flashing light up party props while also dancing and holding their drink.

    The flashing crowns were very popular, and the light up foam glow sticks were a close second, but people mostly turned down the flashing glasses and tambourines. I’m sorry this felt like we didn’t accommodate your request to pass out all the props. My team reported that guests were becoming irritated with the number of items they were offered, so we pulled back. For a group of a little more than 250 guests, had we been consulted on the fact you were purchasing party props, we would have recommended buying 50-60 of each item so guests could choose their favorite option, or whether they wanted a prop at all. Because it appeared that you purchased hundreds of each of the items noted above, you were indeed left with a large quantity of unopened items.

    During our initial consultation and contract phase, we assessed your planning needs and you hired our team with Sloan as your Lead Planner. As we moved through the planning process, and it became clear that a much more complex event was taking shape, I took the lead over our less senior team members on what evolved from being a wedding we expected to be logistically challenging even with the standard 14 or 15 vendors to a 26 vendor production that I personally invested 600+ hours into over the course of 8 months at no additional cost to you other than adding onsite support team members.

    Your planning fee, however, never increased despite my personally overseeing your wedding as it grew in complexity. It also never increased when I personally picked up equipment, orders, or sent my team on errands that were outside of our contracted duties, including heavy lifting of tables, chairs, and sound equipment, or additions we were forced to incorporate into our wedding day logistics plan, such as the fire truck that transported Garland & Taylor to their reception site that we were notified of only on wedding day. As is our practice, we work to accommodate the needs and desires of our clients to the best of our abilities - always - without question.

    As complex as it was, we loved Garland & Taylor’s wedding. It was a beautiful event with many vendors who came together to make the day happen. We’re sorry that, as the mom of the bride, you didn’t enjoy it as much as we did.

    Ruined my wedding day

    Jen and her “team” of wedding planners quit on the day of my wedding leaving me with no one. Not only were her reasons unprofessional and off base, our bus company told us that Jen maliciously called them the morning of the wedding and told them to come an hour later than when we booked them which messed up the entire timeline of the day transporting over 100 guests to our venue. Please beware of this company. They act professional in the beginning and cannot execute the day of the wedding. Luckily, we had more than enough evidence that the bank sided with us and we got our money back.
