    Absolutely amazing!

    Event Planner

Beautiful location. Fabulous staff. Friendly and professional. Easy access to ballroom for vendors. I especially enjoyed working with Blake. Blake was available anytime I needed him and all services requested were provided in a timely and efficient manner. Great experience. Also, I should mention that we had a rehearsal dinner and a brunch the day after our big event. They were all successful. In my experience properties attitudes are seen from the upper management approach towards Customer Service. Obviously this property has directed their employees to not only provide great service but to make sure that Client is satisfied and really cares.
The island is very peaceful and tranquil, not to mention its beauty. I highly recommend this property to anyone interested in having a resort style experience in San Diego.

    Amazing Experience with Paradise Point

We had the MOST AMAZING experience with Paradise Point and cannot imagine a more perfect wedding in a more perfect place. The venue itself is beautiful, and Sydney's energy and thoughtfulness made such a special impact on our wedding. Our guests had a wonderful weekend and couldn't stop commenting on how wonderful Paradise Point was for families and for couples.

    Premier San Diego Wedding Venue

I have been a professional Wedding Planner for 18 years and some of my very favorite weddings have been at Paradise Point. Between their excellent customer service, incredible views and settings, and awesome food and banquets staff -- my clients always have an amazing experience. I appreciate how accommodating their team is... they work hard and go above & beyond to make their weddings the BEST. Blake and Sydney in their Catering Department are experienced, helpful, responsive, and always a pleasure to work with. Thank you Paradise Point for being one of my favorite venues and for giving my clients the weddings of their dreams!

    Best wedding venue!

My husband and I can’t thank Sydney and the entire team at Paradise Point enough for making our wedding day absolutely perfect. From start to finish, Sydney made the planning process so fun, stress-free, and seamless. She was incredibly kind, detail-oriented, and truly brought our vision to life. Everything was beautiful and exactly what we had hoped for.
The venue was stunning, the food was amazing, and every staff member we encountered was so friendly and attentive. Our families and friends couldn’t stop raving about how gorgeous the venue was!
Also, a huge thank you to Andrea and the other gentleman (I’m so sorry I forgot his name!) for helping coordinate our after-party at the Barefoot Bar & Grill. It was such a last-minute decision, but they pulled it off perfectly! I’m so glad we did it—it was the best way to end the night with some good carne asada fries and drinks. Thank you so much for being so kind and accommodating.
We’re beyond grateful for Sydney and the entire Paradise Point team for helping create a day we’ll never forget.

Paradise Point Resort & Spa's reply:

    Dear Kathryn,

Thank you so much for your wonderful sentiments! We’re truly delighted to hear that your wedding day was everything you had envisioned. Sydney and our entire events team will be thrilled to know their care and attention helped make the planning process seamless and enjoyable.

It’s fantastic to hear that your guests loved the venue, food, and hospitality, and we’re so glad Andrea and our Barefoot Bar & Grill team could make your after-party such a fun finale to your celebration.

Your kind words mean so much to us, and it was an absolute honor to be part of such a special milestone. We wish you and your husband a lifetime of happiness and hope to welcome you back to Paradise Point for many more memories in the future!

Why Paradise Point Is a Hidden Gem for Couples and Planners

I had the pleasure of working a wedding at Paradise Point a few months ago as the planner, and I was extremely impressed with their entire team. Sydney, on the sales and servicing side, went above and beyond on wedding day. Not only was she always just a phone call away, but she also played the roles of therapist, personal golf cart driver (shuttling the couple wherever they needed to be on a moment’s notice), and all-around cheerleader—keeping the couple smiling and laughing through it all. Whatever we needed, she was right there to support.

Having worked at many wedding venues across San Diego, I can confidently say that Paradise Point continues to impress me. They truly go above and beyond for their couples, all while making the process fun. Even when you feel like you’re asking a million questions, they never make you feel like it’s “too much.” Sydney, in particular, brings such a down-to-earth, approachable energy to every wedding detail, making it easy and comfortable to ask for support—something you don’t always find in an event sales manager.

From both a couple’s perspective and a planner’s perspective, Paradise Point is a hidden gem!

    Just Beautiful!!!

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony at Paradise Point Resort and Spa (Pine Hill location) back in July. It was absolutely beautiful! We worked with Erica before the pandemic started, but it was put on hold as soon as the pandemic hit. We were initially set on their Paradise Terrace location and even waited for venues to open back up again for us to try and secure the venue! During that time, we worked with Maribel, who was great! It turns out the location was having another wedding that day, so Maribel recommended Pine Hill, which we ended up LOVING. The lush greenery landscape was located in a secluded area that helped make our wedding ceremony so intimate! Our guests loved it and our photos turned out so beautiful! We worked with Erica again closer toward the wedding date, and she was absolutely fantastic to work with. She responded super quickly answered all of the questions that we had! We actually rented a bell cart the day of the wedding for our wedding party photos, but to be honest, we probably didn't need it. The Pine Hill location was so beautiful we ended up taking most of our time there and only used the bell cart to take us to a distance we could have just walked to, but with the amazing service we received, we're not even upset about it. We would 1000% recommend Paradise Point for your wedding!

A Long Journey to our Beautiful Wedding

My husband and I had our wedding at Paradise Point. We had quite the journey during our wedding process. We got engaged Summer of 2019 and knew the date we wanted to get married then (on our 10 year anniversary-summer of 2020). We started looking for venues right away. We looked at so many venues, but our heart was set on Paradise Point. Erica was our point of contact at this venue and she was very helpful with answering our questions and requests. We loved that it was right next to the water and felt like it was on its own little island. We were worried we wouldn't be able to afford it, but they were extremely accommodating from the very beginning (pre-Covid) and ensured we would get what we wanted. When Covid hit it caused a lot of stress because we did not want to change our wedding date since it was so important to us. Since Covid shut down the operations of events, dining, and resorts, staff was limited and our communication and point of contact was changed from Erica to Maribel for the time being. As Covid cases started to decrease for the first time things were started to open back up and we were hopeful we could still somehow make our wedding work. Summer of 2020 indoor dining, let alone events, were no longer allowed in San Diego due Covid cases increasing again. We were heartbroken to say the least, but Maribel at Paradise Point was very supportive and understanding. They gave us every option because of these unavoidable circumstances. They offered to give us a full refund or to move our wedding to a later date. After talking/crying through it we decided this date was too important to us to wait any longer. Maribel helped us tremendously through this time and was OK with any decision we made. We decided to have a very small intimate ceremony at Paradise Point outside overlooking the water (not the original location of the ceremony) and to reschedule our big reception a full year later on our 1-year wedding anniversary. Maribel made sure we were happy with our ceremony and comped us the honeymoon suite for the night of our wedding (the most incredible room right on the beach). We had dinner with the few people that came after our intimate ceremony at the Restaurant within the resort, Tidal. Food and service was great! Fast forward to this year Erica was back and helped prepare us for our wedding. She was so friendly and organized. She made sure every detail was what we wanted and was so patient with us. I felt very good about going into our wedding day. We were allowed to set up the day before since they did not have anything else going on in our room, which was a huge relief! Luckily everything worked out and we were able to have a beautiful wedding the way we had originally planned. We got back to our honeymoon suite that was comped again this year and we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us along with a sweet card from Erica and the Paradise Point team. We had such a great experience with this venue even through all of the ups and downs of Covid. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to have the best wedding with an amazing staff. We would get married every year if we could. Booking with Paradise Point was the best decision.

Paradise Point is a Beautiful Venue!

Paradise Point is a dream of a venue! It's a slice of paradise nestled within San Diego that makes you feel like you are miles away on an island at a paradise resort! It's so beautiful, and we chose to get married on the Island Point Lawn overlooking Mission Bay, with the cocktail hour on the Dockside Deck, and the reception in the Dockside Room. It's such a beautiful space, and the whole resort is beautiful and so green and spacious.
There are 52 acres and 400+ guest rooms, so there is plenty of room for weddings of all sizes.
The team at Paradise Point is so great to work with, and the food is something that all our guests continue to rave about - especially the Lobster Bisque! The staff is all very accommodating and they took great care of us and all our guests.
We had the most perfect wedding day, and will gladly go back to Paradise Point to relive the best day!

    5-Stars for everything!

Paradise Point is by far the best place to host an event. Not only do they have the best accommodations (bungalow style rooms), and the most beautiful property, but their staff and venue’s provided are far better than any others we looked at! Everything was executed so professionally too. We love Paradise Point and can’t wait to stay again!!!

    Our best day

We have been looking forward to this day and we couldn’t done it without Paradise Point staff. It’s a beautiful and picturesque place to get married at. It was so convenient for us as well because our out of town families could stay on site. The staff was extremely attentive. They listened and prioritized all of my requests. I have made so many changes at the last minute but the Catering Services manager was very responsive and accommodating. We definitely wouldn’t want to get married anywhere else. The food at the weeding was something that our guest talked about the most. It wasn’t the normal wedding food. It was gourmet and top of the line.

If you are looking to have the best wedding you could have ever imagined, seriously look no further. My name is Dolores (Del) and my husband Justin and I planned our wedding (partially destination-his friends and family are from California) from PA to Cali.

Our ceremony was on Saturday, June 9, 2018. We had the sweetest, most caring catering sales manager, Erica Ryberg for our Wedding. She was beyond amazing with all of the details for our Wedding Day and it was PERFECT. I even needed some advice and she was there to also provide that too. I felt like I could email her/call her if i had a question with the timeline/seating charts etc and she sure had a great answer and really made me feel less stressed out. If i could talk to her boss I would tell them to promote Erica Ryberg. She was amazing with start to finish one every detail!

The ceremony itself was beautiful-on Island Point lawn and we had a wedding of about 80 people including my husband Justin and I. I really wish we could go back in time and do it all over again<3 Luckily we have great pictures and a great video to watch! We received lots of compliments about the wedding and guests were asking-"seriously how did you put this all together from across the country? Who is the catering sales manager here? The food is excellent." Our main dishes for guests to choose from were the sea bass, filet and chicken, and a vegetarian dish. Cute Cakes btw is where its at!! (if you want a good wedding cake we loved our tastings there:) )

The ceremony and reception @ Paradise Point Resort went very well and everything was just picture perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding day at Paradise Point Resort, and miss our wedding day a lot.

Erica Ryberg-Thank you so much again for everything. You were perfect! And thank you for the champagne/card!

If you want a great wedding and the best catering sales manager request Erica Ryberg @ Paradise Point Resort!

    Love,
    Del (Dolores) and Justin

We recently had our wedding and reception at Paradise Point and everything turned out better than we ever expected. We arrived on Wednesday and stayed until Sunday - our wedding was on Saturday evening. Each day our resort coordinator, Silvana, sent us a handwritten note and a small gift. Anything we needed, they made possible. The staff was so kind and thoughtful. We couldn't have picked a better venue. The food was good, the staff was kind, and ours and our guests needs were consistently met. Our wedding was everything we could have hoped for!

From the initial contact over a year before our wedding, to the goodbye hug at the end of our wedding night, Ashley Abbott was absolutely perfect the entire way through. She was extremely responsive anytime we reached out to her, whether it was through call, text or email. She made sure that she kept us informed and up to date the entire time, which made us feel very comfortable and in good hands. Our wedding exceeded our expectations down to every single tiny detail. It was absolutely gorgeous and the most fun we’ve ever had. We genuinely never had to worry about a thing. We cannot say enough good things about Ashley. Ashley, we owe it all to you and we cannot thank you enough!

We had both our ceremony and reception at Paradise Point and it was absolutely fabulous! We live in Hawaii but our family is on the mainland so we wanted to bring Hawaii to California and Paradise Point was the perfect place to do so. It is so tropical it really is a little oasis. So many people saw our pictures and thought we actually got married in Hawaii! The venue was perfect in every way for us. They were so accommodating to all of our wishes from making sure guests with dietary restrictions were happy to allowing us to have a sparkler exit. When we booked we worked with Nicole Curtis who then had a baby so we worked with Sherri while Nicole was on maternity leave. Nicole decided to be a stay-at-home mom so they hired on Stacey Chrisman. Usually when you hear of turnover it's a bad thing, but in this case it is totally understandable and all three ladies we worked with were amazing and not a single detail was missed through the transitions. Our first time meeting Stacey was the day before our wedding and she had everything perfectly under control. We're really happy she was running the show!

The food was AMAZING. The tasting made us sure we chose the right venue and even our photographer said it's a top favorite among vendors for food.

We got married at Pine Hill and it was beautiful, so secluded and tropical. I was worried about my dress train getting dirty from duck poop but before the ceremony they hosed down all the major walkways for us with plenty of time to dry. The pictures were breathtaking and we appreciated a golf cart to take us to some awesome spots. Everyone was so friendly too, we even got a free dessert the day before at lunch at the Barefoot Grill since we were getting married. They also upgraded our bridal/honeymoon suite from the garden bungalow to the beach bungalow for free!

We couldn't be happier with our decision to get married at Paradise Point!

We had our wedding here last month and it was truly the fairytale wedding of our dreams. The location was a huge part of that, our family came from all over the country and was in heaven all weekend. We booked out a few beachside rooms so we could use the fire pits after the reception too and it was so incredible. Also the catering was 5 star, SO good. They always say the bride doesn't eat, but I definitely ate a full meal haha! Highly recommend this place for your wedding location!! -Cristi

Gosh, everything was above and beyond my expectations! They communicated with us and where on top of things I was forgetting...because I was overwhelmed with planning details. They just made us feel like they had it all under control. The wedding turned out beautiful, along with our beach photos!! The property is truly gorguos. I suggest you plan on staying a while! We booked the elopement package at paradise point for our wedding in September of 2012. We worked with Julie Arroyo as our planner/coordinator. She was very flexible and helped us take their package and customize it to fit our needs. Everything turned out exactly as promised and we could not have been happier with our final product. We would recommend hosting your wedding at Paradise Point to anyone looking to have a small beach wedding with a professional, organized, and very helpful team.

Paradise Point Resort was the first venue I looked at when visiting different venues for my July 21st 2012 wedding of 120 guests. After visiting Paradise Point, I compared every other venue to it, and it could not be beat!

We knew we wanted an outdoor wedding near/on the beach. We loved the tropical flair that Paradise Point had to offer. It gave the feel of a Hawaiian destination wedding without the travel. It was not the cheapest venue around, but other cheaper Hawaiian themed hotels in the area did not portray the "class and elegance" I wanted. Serving chicken/fish and open bar with wine/beer and including resort service fees and taxes will cost you about $180 person. Their wedding package does include your cake, linens, premium open bar at cocktail hour and night of wedding suite for the bride/groom. You will need to rent a separate suite for the bridal party to get ready in on the day, that is not included. There is no other resort like Paradise Point in San Diego, Orange County or LA, trust me, I've looked!

Julie Arroyo, the catering manager, was amazing! She was a true professional, incredibly sweet, personable, accommodating and was quick to respond to emails and phone calls. She is honest and keeps to her word and there were no "surprise" fees or charges that showed up at the end of our wedding. She went above and beyond to make sure my day was flawless. I felt like she was a good friend of hers and I was the only bride planning my wedding there when dealing with her. She never once mixed me up with another bride or wedding and made us feel confident we would be taken care of.

The food at the wedding was perfection! It was just as good at the wedding as it was at our tasting. We received so many compliments from guests how good it was. Not your typical wedding food! Our cake was delicious and gorgeous and we were so happy with Flour Power bakery (you get to choose from 2 bakeries)!

We got married at the Pine Hill ceremony site, which was an intimate tropical garden location. Our cocktail hour was on the decks outside the Sunset ballroom and the reception was held in the Sunset ballroom that overlooked Mission Bay. The resort itself has a few customer service issues, but nothing major. I would highly reccommend Paradise Point for your wedding! They have multiple cermony locations and reception ballrooms to choose from and can accommodate small 10 person weddings to as many as 500 people I think.

Our guests really enjoyed staying at the resort and using the amenities the resort offers and told me that even being local San Diego and LA residents, they felt like they were "somewhere else" during the wedding and their stay. I can't wait to get our pictures back because there are so many gorgeous backgrounds on the property from sand beaches, ponds, gazebo, tropical greenery, boat docks, bridge,...

I highly recommend having a wedding here! Especially if you have a lot of friends and family coming from out of town. We were able to block rooms at a discounted rate and the whole resort was so accommodating!

Julie Arroyo from the catering department helped us with booking the ceremony site, which was the Island Point Lawn. She made everything so easy and every time I had a question or request, she was so responsive, helpful and reassuring. She kept saying..."I'll take care of that" which gave me so much piece of mind. She offered such great advice and leadership which is what I needed. She made the whole experience SOOO easy and she is so sweet on top of it!

Our reception/dinner was at Baleen and Chris Kindig was also wonderful. So helpful, reassuring and sooo nice. He accommodated our every need and worked with us to make a nice dinner for our 80 guests that fit within our budget. The food was delicious, our guests kept telling us how much they loved the food and I personally loved that all of the food came out pretty much at once! Chris, his wait staff and the bartenders were all so professional and helpful. I highly recommend having your wedding here! I wouldn't change a thing!

Paradise Point did a fantastic job with our ceremony and reception! We had our ceremony on the Island Point Lawn, and it was everything I wanted it to be- outside and near the beach. The reception was in the Dockside Room and everything was great. The food was exactly as we had at our tasting and the staff was great. Karen Cipolla was our catering manager and she did a great job! She was extremely easy to work with and dealt with my husband's family's last minute (two days before the wedding!) additions. The only small complaint I have is that my husband and I went to the bar to get a drink and our bartender wasn't there! Our wedding coordinator had to get behind the bar to make us drinks. Other than that, our wedding was perfect. Thank you Karen and Paradise Point for a fabulous wedding!

We cannot say enough good things about Paradise Point resort. Our wedding was perfect! Due to the wonderful Julie Arroyo! The minute we met Julie and saw the gorgeous property we knew this was the place we wanted to get married! We had a small wedding, but never once did I feel like that made a difference to them. We choose a wedding package that put other resorts and wedding venues to shame. What I loved most was that even though we went with a wedding package, we really were in control of what we wanted! And Julie was there for every question or concern. Her energy and passion for what she does makes all the difference. Our guests haven’t stopped talking about how delicious the food was or how amazing the venue was. Our banquet staff was top notch and our banquet captain, Hector – by far the best! I’m telling all my friends to get married there – just so we can go back!

My husband and I where married on the Island Point Lawn (across from the Barefoot Bar) in October. Our reception was held in the Dockside Ballroom. I have nothing but good things to say about Paradise Point. For couples who want a beachy-vibe, but not tacky...this is the place for you. There are SO many different places to take photos, the staff is extremely courteous, and you get a lot for the price you pay.

Paige Graham was our catering manager and she did an amazing job. She was actually promoted into the position about 1 month prior to our wedding so there where a lot of loose ends to be tied up. She was very prompt in revising our contract over and over and over and over until it was flawless.

The day of the wedding was flawless. The food was amazing, the drinks where flowing. Also, we had a surprise of fireworks in Mission Bay! It was so amazing! To this day I still don't know how that happened, but I am assuming it was Sea World's Fireworks Show. But the location is just spectacular!

I highly recommend Paradise Point to anyone looking at San Diego wedding venues.

Paradise Point was amazing in so many ways! We chose to have our wedding here because we wanted our East coast family and friends to truly feel like they were in a tropical resort location and Paradise Point did not disappoint. We had our ceremony at the Pine Hill location which was perfect and intimate and provided such a great lush tropical feel. Following the ceremony, we utilized the newly renovated Sunset Patio location for cocktail hour with lounge furniture and the Sunset Ballroom for the reception. We received so many compliments on the venue from the lush gardens and bay view sunsets to the awesome food and drinks! Our coordinator Julie Arroyo was truly a doll to work with - very responsive and able to meet all of our crazy ideas with ease. The bridal suite too for getting ready with my girls was such a treat - I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to make their guests feel amazing all day long at your wedding! Also - highly recommend October month if you are not from San Diego - the weather was PERFECT blue skies and the sunsets cannot be beat! Thank you Paradise Point!

You can't beat the stunning location and the amenities offered here especially if the majority of your guests are from out of town. All the wedding activities were planned at the resort, so our guests didn't even have to leave the resort all weekend if they didn't want to or didn't have a car to get around.

The service was top notch in the catering/events department. Nicole Curtis, the catering manager assigned to our wedding is absolutely AMAZING. She was there every step of the way from our initial site visit and contract negotiations to the wedding day and all the correspondence/questions in between. The menu the day of received rave reviews from our wedding guests... the lobster bisque is OUTSTANDING and a must try!

The resort was very accommodating with special requests (eg: earlier setup times, food allergies, linen/decor setup requests). Coming from the events industry myself, I really noticed the small details the resort assisted with that went above and beyond for us.

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding weekend. The customer service was phenomenal for us and all of our guests. The day of the wedding went extremely smoothly and was seamlessly orchestrated.

    Pricy, but Worth It!

We had our wedding ceremony at Paradise Point and couldn't be happier with our choice! It was definitely on the pricier side for ceremony venues, but we found that they had the best options for ceremony-only space in comparison to other hotels in the area. Our ceremony was on the Paradise Terrace and it was absolutely stunning. Many of our guests (ourselves included) stayed at the resort, and we got so many compliments on our choice! Eva, the venue coordinator, was great to work with too.

Julie Arroyo,catering/wedding sales manager has done such an amazing job. She is very details and well organized.
Overall wedding serive is great. The food/service/room price is in a high range side but mostly worth every penny. As a bride, I got to hear some complaints about the food server during the reception that he spilled nice champagne to the bread and wine glasses (9 out of 10 champagne glasses). Also some guests complainted that their beef meals were not tender probably overcooked. It would be nice if they solve these problems so the next client will have a perfect experience with Paradise Point. Overall is fantastic, all of our family and friends were very happy and enjoyed spending time at Paradise point. Lots of compliments we have got! We were happy to hear great feed back from them in overall since most of our guests were from all over the world so we want them to have unforgetable memories.I will definitely recommend Paradise Point to my family and friends.

We just did our reception on the patio at Paradise Point and it was smooth sailing the whole way. We even had our DJ and the sound/lighting crew at Paradise Point meet to discuss who could do the lighting that we wanted. I'm surprised they were open to working with an outside vendor so closely and with so much flexibility. The only area of improvement I would recommend is that they make the wedding coordinator in charge of all aspects of the event (sound, lighting, room reservations, food, etc) instead of having the customer deal with different people and different contracts. Even with that though, it was still a great experience!

Paradise Point Resort is a beautiful place that makes you feel like you are on a tropical island! We started working with the wedding specialist there about10 months prior to our wedding. They were professional and responsive 95% of the time. We did have a few misunderstandings when it came time to block our guest rooms. All of these were eventually ironed out but were a bit frustrating for us and our guests.
The service throughout the reception was great, as well as all of the food we chose for our buffet style dinner.
The only thing I gave 3 stars is the value for what you receive. The rooms are very pricy as well as the price per person with the wedding package.
Overall wonderful experience if money is not a huge issue!

Paradise Point was a beautiful venue for our wedding. Most of the employees were very nice and professional. However, we all left with a not great experience due to the cost. Everything seemed way over priced and this resort does NOT give any breaks...even though you fill up their hotel rooms with wedding guests and spend over $50,000 on the reception! We felt very "nickel and dimed" here. If these types of things do not bother you, than I would highly recommend the resort for a wedding because it is beautiful. If I had to do it all over though, I would not give this company our money.

The ceremony site and reception were beautiful, and the resort did a wonderful job in accommodating us with the logistics of our wedding. However, the food was terrible. It was NOTHING like we had in our food tasting, even down to the presentation, and they have been very difficult to work with when we asked for a partial credit. Everything was overcooked and dry, they served the wrong types of fish and chicken, and we were extremely disappointed.

While ultimately our guests had a good time, this was only after a tremendous and almost shocking amount to stress, trouble, and grief dealing with staff. One staff member made things fall into place the last couple of weeks before the wedding, thank goodness. However, multiple staff people were rude to our guests and to us, and made our planning and wedding block of rooms almost impossible to book. How does this place function? Three people we dealt with mysteriously stopped working there after we were finally making some headway. A very frustrating experience for us and our guests. I would suggest going elsewhere, although in the end, we had a good time and had one very helpful employee make things happen for us.

** READ REVIEW PRIOR TO BOOKING WEDDING **

My husband and I got married here about a month ago. The location is a beautiful area that provides stunning views and ambiance! However, had I have known what type of service the resort provides I would have never gotten married here.

Before I actually paid for all of my services, the email responses by the wedding coordinator were very prompt and professional. When my mother and I went for the food tasting and a week later paid for our final deposit, thats when the service starting plummeting! My emails would not be responded to for over 2 weeks and I would have to send numerous emails just to get a response regarding my final wedding decisions (guest count, food selection, etc). My mother also wanted the resort to waive the parking fee for our family because the resort was charging an excessive amount ($32 parking, $17 resort fee, $250/room). She called AND emailed the coordinator and even the managers but they did not repond for 2-3 weeks. Finally, when they did return her call they declined her request to waive the parking fee as they said "this is policy". Condering I spent over $20,000 at their facility and referred a lot of my family to stay there, the LEAST they could have one for customer service is waive that fee! But they didn't care....it was all about "their policy".
They never apologized for not returning her calls or emails timely either.

Then!! 3 weeks after the wedding my debit card was charged $811 and Paradise Point never called or emailed me regarding the charge!!! I was blind sided by this, and had no idea what it was regarding. When I called the resort, I had to leave numerous messages for the accountant before he actually responded. I still to date have not recieved an itemized bill showing how the charges were broken down!

This place is beautiful, but their service made this experience terrible for me!

Don’t have your wedding at paradise point

In short: we feel lied to, our credit card was charged without notifying us, they didn’t let our guests get seconds for food, we didn’t get to have any of our own wedding cake, and there was an overall lack of accountability from Paradise Point.

After our wedding we were sent an unexpected invoice stating we had an additional balance due. We found multiple errors in the final invoice, resulting in overcharges which we had to point out in order to get refunded. Even beyond these refunds, we still supposedly owed a sizable balance. The Event Sales Manager claimed that the extra balance was due to keeping the open bar running longer than we paid for - however this was their fault because during our wedding we explicitly told the bar staff NOT to extend the open bar beyond our prepaid tab. After I called out her inaccurate statement, she pivoted to a new argument that other miscellaneous charges explain the balance. But the numbers she was giving us didn’t add up. While combing through the final invoice we found a 27% venue service fee, however prior documents did not clearly outline this fee. Not only is the contradictory language misleading, it was something we had to bring to Paradise Point’s attention. After we pointed out this service fee, the Event Sales Manager shifted her argument once again — now claiming that this fee explained the final balance due. Not once did Paradise Point acknowledge that their previous explanations for the final balance were wrong. We were struggling to nail down a straight answer from them. To add insult to injury, after we caught Paradise Point in their misleading statements they just stopped responding and charged our credit card on file without even notifying us. Furthermore, charging our card in the middle of a dispute is incongruent with their initial request that we pay the balance ourselves via a website link.

Plates from the buffet table were prematurely removed, preventing our guests from getting seconds! When our guests asked for more plates, they were given the run around until the food was eventually taken away. We are deeply disappointed in Paradise Point because our wedding guests were left hungry.

One slice of our wedding cake was promised to be boxed up for us to eat in our honeymoon suite. Instead, it was tossed. We didn’t even get to eat our own wedding cake.

Lastly, there is a serious lack of accountability. Three months prior to the event, the Event Sales Manager told us a local magazine was interested in covering our wedding. However, she never followed up with us about it. When we asked her about it on the night of our wedding she looked surprised, then claimed that the magazine never followed up with her. We have no way of verifying if she was telling the truth. Not only were we disappointed, we were embarrassed because we had informed our guests and major vendors of the magazine’s interest.

If you have your wedding at Paradise Point, don't be surprised if you don't get what you asked for.

Do not have a wedding or stay at Paradise Point

Staying at Paradise Point (PP) & having a wedding here was highly disappointing to say the least.

The rooms are in desperate need of renovation and not worth the high rates. Our guests complained about the poor service, unclean rooms, & foul odor in the area. We stayed in a beachside bungalow. Don't think you're paying for location! You're surrounded by dirty, smelly marine water and walkways covered in seagull poop. The bungalows are tiny & outdated and can't accommodate a bridal party; taking pics inside the suite was not an option. PP didn’t show us the room until after we signed a contract. Additionally, there is no security at the beach so there are people out partying late at night. The Event Sales Manager even told us that we are free to be on the beach as late as we want since it’s unpatrolled. It’s strange that the staff promote this. We were unable to sleep the night before & the night of our wedding due to the noise. Don't bring children due to safety reasons, the dirty waters, & the endless bird droppings.

On the night of our wedding the ballroom was unbearably hot. We asked staff multiple times to turn up the AC, but they never did. Most of my guests were outside because they were too uncomfortable.

PP was very wasteful with our food. Beforehand they informed me the time that all food would need to be taken away, but reassured me that there would be ample time for guests to get seconds. However, in reality the staff were persistent at clearing plates from the tables even when guests were still working on their meals. The staff did not provide extra plates at the buffet tables so there was no way for guests to get seconds. To think of how much food was thrown away, how much they charged for food, and how hungry guests still were leaves me disgusted. They also got rid of our wedding cake even though we requested to have just one slice reserved for us.

In regards to the open bar, we had a prepaid tab. Once we reached our prepaid limit we told multiple employees to close out our tab yet we were slammed with an additional bill following our wedding. We went back and forth for a month with staff contesting the bar and other charges that we were never made aware of before or during the wedding. The staff at PP provided us with an unclear document with charges that did not match previous invoices. They gave us the run around for weeks while we tried to dissect the mismatching estimates/BEO/final invoice. The staff made no effort to delineate where the final balance came from. They argued that a substantial charge came from the bar alone, which we proved to be erroneous as above. When we finally figured out that there was a hidden service charge applied to the venue rental fee (which was not included in the final BEO), the event sales manager acknowledged that they did not outline this charge in previous documents but stated it’s something they’ll implement in the future. Instead of simply waiving this fee, they tried to offer us a comp 2-night stay. Which does not makes sense as this is valued at more than the disputed fee. On top of that, although they originally sent us a link to make the final payment, PP charged our credit card DURING the back & forth dispute without informing us.

We are frustrated & saddened that we dealt with this. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this hotel/venue. I've stayed at multiple SD hotels and now am a local who can attest to more favorable alternatives.
