    A Dream team to work with!!!

    As the owner of Luniks Entertainment, working with Danielle and the entire Ohana Events team has truly been such a privilege. We’ve had the opportunity to watch Ohana Events grow from the very beginning, and it has been incredible to see how Danielle has built such a strong, thoughtful, and well-respected planning company.

    Danielle is amazing at what she does — organized, calm, intentional, and always advocating for her couples. We’ve worked closely with her entire team over the years, including Jenna, Sonya, Rache, Mara, and Emily, and they are all seasoned pros in every sense of the word. Each planner brings the same level of care, professionalism, and attention to detail, which makes working together seamless.

    The Best Around!

    We truly don’t know what we would have done without Jenna and the Ohana Events team!

    From day one, she made the entire planning process so easy and enjoyable. Our wedding was at Cuneo Mansion and Gardens in Vernon Hills, along with a church ceremony that hadn’t hosted a wedding in over 10 years — so there were definitely a few unique challenges to navigate. Jenna handled everything with such professionalism and grace, guiding us through new territory like an absolute pro.
    One of the best things about working with Jenna is that she let us be as hands-on (or hands-off) as we wanted. She was always incredibly communicative, quick to respond, and made sure we were consistently ahead of schedule — literally for over a year! Friends and family kept commenting on how “on top of it” we were, and that was all thanks to Jenna’s organization and attention to detail.
    Jenna was also extremely flexible with our busy work schedules, often meeting us late in the evening or on weekends to make things work. We already miss our coffee planning meet-ups with her — they became such a fun and special part of the process!
    We received so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful, detailed, and well thought-out our wedding was — every element flowed perfectly and our day-of timeline was a masterpiece. She thought of everyone involved — bridal party, family, vendors — and made sure every single person knew exactly where to be and when. I (the bride!) am notoriously 15 minutes late to everything, but this was the one day I was early… all credit goes to Jenna!
    Of course, no wedding planning journey is totally bump-free, but whenever anything came up, Jenna was right there to handle it calmly and find the best solution. I completely trusted her creative eye and modern touch, and often asked for her advice before making final decisions — her insight was always spot on.
    She also made vendor management a breeze. Jenna communicated with all of our vendors, handled the back-and-forth, and all we had to do was sign the final contracts. Even in the final month, when we made a bunch of small changes (adding hours to photo/video, makeup touchups, a new seating chart, etc.), Jenna managed it all seamlessly. We didn’t have to lift a finger.
    Choosing to have a wedding planner was the one decision I never regretted for a single second. A ton of our friends are getting engaged and planning their own weddings and it’s the first thing we recommend. Having someone like Jenna in your corner who truly cares about making your day exactly what you dreamed it would be is the best thing you can do for your peace of mind and overall happiness.
    While most couples are relieved when the wedding planning is over, we’re the complete opposite — we actually miss it! Jenna is not just an incredible planner, but also such a kind, supportive, and genuinely fun person to work with. We couldn’t imagine our wedding without her, and we recommend her to absolutely everyone. If you’re looking for someone who will keep you organized, stress-free, and actually early on your wedding day — Jenna is your person!

    Great experience with Ohana!

    We had a great time working with Jenna! She is so friendly and personal, and took the time to get to know us and our style. She was so helpful throughout the entire process to help us book all of our vendors and made sure we thought through all of the little details. She made the entire process so easy, and was so supportive the day of. She took away all stress and handled everything so smoothly. Would highly recommend Ohana and Jenna!

    Phenomenal experience!

    Phenomenal experience with Ohana Events! Strongly recommend! We worked with Danielle and Caelee to help us prepare for our special day. They were so top of things, knew exactly what needed to happen to run an event well, and were such a pleasure to work with. On the day of, Caelee and Sonya were such a great team and went above and beyond to make our special day go smoothly. No task was too small and I can’t imagine what else may have come up behind the scenes that we didn’t have to address, because we had such a wonderful night where we were able to enjoy our moments and guests. Really great experience!

    Best decision I made for our wedding

    We can't thank OE, Danielle, Jenna and Tuya enough for making our wedding day absolutely perfect! From the very beginning, they were organized, attentive, and genuinely excited about our vision. Jenna was our assigned planner and I couldn't have asked for better! She was phenomenal!! Every detail—big and small—was handled with care and precision, and her calm, confident presence made the entire planning process feel stress-free. She makes sure I am on top of everything, reminded us of what we needed to do and communicated with our vendors, taking that stress away from us. She put together a drive with everything on there, super organized and beyond helpful.
    On the day of she helped us all stay on time, get done what we needed to but also stay relaxed and enjoy ourselves.
    We did our pictures at the Planetarium, it was crazy windy and my hair was ruined. She had a curling iron delivered to the reception asap so I could get my hair done before anyone saw me. She was the absolute best!!! Her assistant Tuya was also amazing!!! On top of her game, professional, worked hard and ensured everything at the venue was perfect.
    Couldn't have made a better decision to work with these ladies and so grateful!!! Thank you so much!!

    Amazing!

    The BEST wedding planning team we could have asked for!! From the first meeting we had with them, my husband & I were sold on working with Ohana Events. They are so easy to work with and did a phenomenal job bringing our vision to life. Wedding planning can be such a stressful time but I never felt any stress working with them - Danielle & Sonya stayed on top of every single details, and made sure our day went off without a single issue! Sonya was our day-of coordinator as well, and we could not have asked for a better person to be there for our big day. We had a very large wedding party, and Sonya kept everyone in line and on schedule! If you are on the fence at all, book with Ohana!!! You will be so happy you did!

    The BEST decision we made

    If you’re looking for a Wedding Planning vendor that you can trust and will put you at ease in the midst of your stressful wedding planning from beginning to the end (even after your wedding is over), please hire Ohana Events. Hiring Ohana Events was one of the best decisions we made during wedding planning and my husband I said these exact words from the moment we met Danielle at our initial consultation to as of today, a month after our wedding (and probably will say this forever!). Danielle was so kind and professional, and we knew in our gut that Ohana was the way to go. And we were 100% right. She assigned Emily to be our Day of Wedding Coordinator and we cannot thank Danielle enough for choosing the most perfect Coordinator that we could have ever asked for.

    I don’t even know where to begin with the praises I have for Emily. She was absolutely the best Coordinator and went above and beyond to come up with the most detailed and organized schedule, which was the biggest task I was afraid of handling. Emily took care of communications with all of our vendors and guided us through everything we needed to plan. When planning your wedding, there’s a constant feeling that you’re forgetting something and Emily made sure nothing was forgotten. Her attention to detail and calming presence was such a joy and it was a relief to know that having an incredibly reliable Coordinator like Emily, would make our wedding go smoothly. On the day of, Emily memorized our entire schedule by heart and made sure not only we were comfortable but also our wedding party, family, and our guests. My dad came up to me during reception and asked where we found such an amazing coordinator because our family was just so impressed with everything about Emily!


    We are so thankful for Emily, Danielle, and the Ohana Events Team. Our day truly could not have gone the way it did if it wasn’t for Emily. Choosing a vendor for your wedding can be overwhelming but if you’re looking for a Coordinator/Planner, please choose Ohana Events. You will be so happy that you made the right decision and your wedding will be seamless and magical!

    Our best wedding decision!

    HIRE OHANA! Working with Ohana was hands down the best decision we made when wedding planning and we continue to say it was the best money that we put towards our wedding. We ended up doing the 6-month package and were lucky enough to be paired with Emily. I cannot say enough how much of a dream Emily is to work with. She was a constant source of calm & resourcefulness for us in the hectic months leading up to the wedding. She understood our vision and helped us to execute everything perfectly. She is also just a wonderful and KIND person. If you are on the fence about working with Ohana, I can promise you that you will NOT regret it. If I could give this review more than 5 stars - I would.     The BEST! Brides, you need Ohana!

    I was a bride who knew very little about weddings and wedding planning before my big day, and was getting overwhelmed by all the various wedding planning tasks. But that changed once I had Ohana, Danielle, and Jenna on my team! Danielle was responsive, detailed and kind and paired my husband and I up perfectly with Jenna.

    Jenna was available for every question I had during the process and is truly the sweetest! We got SO lucky and our wedding day went so smoothly because of her. We had to last minute pivot a lot of plans due to weather but Jenna did it all perfectly and my stress levels were nearly zero with her leading the charge. If she was stressed, you wouldn’t know it because she was always smiling. Our families and guests commented on how great she was too.

    Thank you Ohana for making my day what it was and allowing me to focus on actually getting married the day of and enjoying the day. If there’s any vendor you NEED, it’s Ohana (and Jenna!!)

    Ohana is a NEED!

    Hiring Ohana and working with Sonya was easily the best decision we made while wedding planning. I was hesitant to hire an outside coordinator because we had a venue coordinator, but the venue coordinator does not do nearly the amount that Ohana does. Hiring Ohana is a NEED. I was first introduced to Danielle and we instantly connected. I felt she understood my vision and wanted to help create our dream wedding. We were lucky enough to be assigned to Sonya for the 90-day coordination package and she was the kindest, most patient, and organized planner. She responded quickly to emails and answered all of my questions, she took over communication with vendors and relieved much of the planning stress, she provided detailed checklists and kept me on track. She also created a detailed by the minute itinerary for the entire weekend for us, our vendors, and a shorthand version for our bridal party which was extremely helpful. Our wedding day was seamless with no hiccups and I can honestly thank Sonya for that. She made sure to keep the day moving on schedule, communicated with all of the vendors, and made sure to check in with me often. Even wedding guests and our parents gave raving reviews for Sonya. My husband and I agree that hiring Ohana and being able to work with Sonya was the best investment we would do all over again, and we recommend them to everyone. I wish I had hired Sonya sooner! Best wedding coordinator of all time. It is true, Ohana means family, and that is exactly how the team treats you.

    Ohana is the BEST!!

    Five stars!!! I booked Ohana Events for a Day Of Coordinator custom package. I was lucky enough to work with Rachel, and it was such a phenomenal experience!!!

    It may be stressful trying to pick a planner or coordinator (at least it was for me), but Ohana is seriously legit. You are absolutely in great hands with their team. I had actually booked with a different company originally, but a bad review from a bride I knew made me reconsider. I decided to work with Ohana instead and I'm so glad I did. As they say, you get what you pay for... and your coordinator budget is NOT the place to be penny pinching.

    Rachel was so incredible to work with, from the very first email all the way up to the end of our wedding. She was so organized, encouraging, and professional throughout the entire 3 months leading up to our big day. I was so so so happy to have her on my team. It rained all day on my wedding day and Rachel kept everything together seamlessly, even as our preplanned schedule went right out the window. She made our whole day run so smoothly. I truly didn't have to lift a finger, which was such a relief after months of planning. My whole family and wedding party loved her too!!

    Ohana Events provides such amazing resources and checklists to keep you on track. I was amazed at how much support I received, even with just a Day Of Coordinator package. I can imagine their full and partial planning services are even more impressive!!

    Above and beyond!

    AH!! I have been so excited to write this review for so many reasons, but here are my top 3:

    1.) I was a 2023 bride and got the amazing opportunity to work with Emily as our planner and she absolutely knocked it out of the park. I was especially impressed with her workflow on our planning calls and the tremendous amount of time she poured into understanding my exact vision for our wedding day. She had the most organized lists + timelines not only for me, but also for our vendors, family, and bridal party as well!

    2.) This was especially impressive because I am actually a wedding photographer downtown Chicago, so I have truly seen it all. My expectations were HIGH and Emily was on the ball for everything. I am also very type A in my work, so seeing that Emily was extremely organized + asked all the right questions was green flags across the map. She asked questions I haven't event thought of before, even as a vendor. This lead to a very successful wedding day for us, which I am so grateful for! She even lead our wedding rehearsal which was such a relief + so so helpful.

    3.) I have also had the opportunity to work alongside Ohana's founder, Danielle, for weddings we have with our shared clients, and she truly goes above and beyond for them. It is so refreshing to see another vendor care so deeply for their clients, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that everything is seamless + perfect. Being in the wedding industry, I have worked with many incredible event planners and Ohana shines so bright among Chicagos best. They truly are the dream team!

    We loved our experience with Ohana SO MUCH and would recommend them to anyone and everyone!!

    Incredible experience- do not wait to book!

    Oh my gosh Ohana Events was absolutely amazing. Our planner Mara was responsive, attentive, and incredibly helpful every step of the way. We had no idea what we were doing and as soon as we were in Mara's hands we felt so taken care of. The wedding was an absolute day of our dreams and we could not have done it without Ohana and Mara. Do not waste more time researching other teams and planners, Ohana Events is amazing if you should be so lucky to get them!!!

    A must hire!!

    The best decision we made while wedding planning was hiring Ohana Events! We spent a year planning our wedding and I truly believe the reason I did not feel any stress was because of Danielle! Any question/thought/idea was answered quickly, honestly and thoroughly. Danielle was so communicative and made sure every vendor had what they needed and I was never worried something wasn't happening. Our wedding day ran so smooth and on time and I received so many compliments from guests on what a seamless day/night it was! Danielle completely captured our vision of our wedding and made it all come to life! On the wedding day, I felt so supported by Danielle and Sonya as they made sure my husband I felt comfortable, happy and stress-free. They made sure to check-in to see if we needed anything like food, a drink, and even help bustling my dress. I wish I could give more than five stars, we could not recommend Ohana Events enough!

    Top Tier Planners!

    Hiring Ohana was one of the best decisions we made for our Oct 2023 wedding at the University Club of Chicago. We did the ‘in between’ package as we had hired most vendors ourselves before involving a planner and our venue was inclusive of a lot of services. Our planner Mara was fantastic and knowledgeable. She had great advice and helped us navigate a lot of choices in the planning process, many of which ended up saving us money. She went above and beyond with the planning and on the day, and my husband and I could truly relax and enjoy every moment of the wedding. Ohana’s pricing was also much more reasonable compared to many other quotes we received. I also loved that Ohana included many rentals as add on options including a top tier photo booth - it was so much less stressful to have fewer vendor provide more services vs sourcing an additional service like that. I was not a DIY bride at all and loved that we could rent things that were never going to be used after the wedding (like a card box) for a super reasonable rate. Danielle was also amazing in designing our seating chart with some last minute tweaks. You won’t regret hiring Ohana for your big day!

    O'Hana Events is Incredible!

    Our wedding was the best day ever and it was truly thanks to Mara and the O’hana events team. From the initial call to the 6 months to go meeting we knew we were in the best hands! Our other vendors remarked several times that they felt more prepared for our wedding than any other wedding in their career. Mara ensured my partner and I had an stress-free wedding. We truly were able to take in the day and enjoy it with our family and friends.

    The timeline Mara made and level of communication was flawless. Family and friends cannot stop complimenting our wedding and we owe it all to Mara and O’hana! If you are able to we would highly recommend booking O’hana for your day of/planning needs, best decision we ever made!

    Best planner ever

    If you are debating if you need to spend money on a planner….it will absolutely be worth EVERY PENNY. We had the pleasure of working with Emily as our month of planner and from our first meeting, I was able to relax about al the wedding details. Emily was so organized, calm, and genuinely wanted to help make our wedding enjoyable.

    I actually do not know if I would have been sane the week leading up to our wedding without Emily. She thought of every last detail that had slipped my mind, handled communication with all the vendors, and was a calming force in general.

    Fast forward to the wedding- I do not think I would have enjoyed it half as much without her. I was able to have the absolute best night of my life while Emily was there to oversee everything (make sure we got pictures we had asked for, I remembered to change into my second look dress with enough time) and she personally took everything I left from the reception to our hotel room. I woke up the next day feeling like I had a fairy godmother taking care of everything.

    Seriously- booking Ohana was the BEST money I spent on my entire wedding. If you want to ensure you have the time of your life on your wedding day, you need to book with Danielle and her team!!

    Best decision ever -

    I’ve been looking for a wedding coordinator for months in the SW MI area and after an unfruitful search I looked on Instagram and found Ohana. Thankfully, while they were based in Chicago (and other cities), Emily lived in MI and was available to work with us. During the initial consultation call, Danielle and Emily took the time to patiently explain what they do, and asked me questions that I - a mostly DIY bride up to that point - did not even think to ask. They had the most positive vibes, while being incredibly professional. Immediately after hiring Emily, it was a heavy lift off my back. Emily was super sweet, kind, professional, efficient, and helpful to work with. She answered all of my questions and was very responsive and communicative. She helped us navigate the flow of the evening, brought in great ideas to help us build a successful wedding event, and was completely grounded and calm - allowing us (especially me) to feel better in otherwise very stressful situations. On our wedding weekend she not only was there to take on any tasks that came up effectively while volunteering to take on odd jobs, she also handled challenging conversations with family members with grace and professionalism.     Rachel is the best!

    We hired Ohana Events for the full wedding package and we can’t recommend it enough! Rachel was so amazing to work with. She really went above and beyond to help us with every single request we had, no matter how small. She’s a problem solver, super responsive, detail oriented, and somehow she remains positive and calm during what was a chaotic time!

    Ohana Events Will DELIVER the Wedding of Your Dreams!

    Where do I even begin. I was referred to Ohana Events by a friend who found them online based on reviews. But boy, I didn't know what a treat I was in for. Working with Danielle (full wedding package) was the highlight of my entire year (all things included). Every single meeting with her left me feeling optimistic and excited about the wedding. I had a creative vision for how our wedding would be executed, and also quite a few cultural additions for the day that would make Danielle's job more complex. Danielle was the epitome of "professional" and handled EVERY vendor flawlessly. She gave me ideas for the ceremony and reception, and always advocated for the best price with every vendor. She considered the big picture of how each piece of the day would flow together, and she also was extremely flexible when we added or changed things.

    She made sure that every line item on the decor budget had been discussed and was charged as previously stated. She asked SUCH detailed questions from the venue and decorators that there was no room left for error. Towards the wedding day, she sent biweekly update emails reminding us of every last thing we needed to remember (including to write vows ahead of time).

    We ended up needing to add day-of-coordination with Jenna for a traditional ceremony, and that was also a great decision. Jenna did TONS behind the scenes to make sure the ceremony went smoothly, even without having all the information she needed from the MC prior.

    I'm almost certain she was up until 2am the night before wedding day coordinating last minute changes with the venue, but still was right on time to our getting-ready Airbnb. Danielle brought positive energy, shielded us from anything that wasn't going as planned while finding an alternative to keep things on track, and coordinated flawlessly with all vendors. For example, our wedding party trolley had major issues getting to us, and Danielle drove me to the first look in her own car so that we would stay on schedule!

    She was able to handle boisterous guests with ease, and she came to us to check in about decisions needing to be made about increasing videography/photography duration based on prior conversations we had about deciding on day of. Danielle even checked prior with the photo/video team to ensure that the hourly cost to increase time on the day of was the regular rate without any penalty.

    I could go on and on. Danielle and the Ohana team ensured that my DREAM wedding exceeded my wildest expectations. I will love and thank them forever!!! You will be so so glad you chose Ohana Events for the most important day of your life

    Jenna with Ohana was amazing!

    We worked with Jenna at Ohana Events for our April 2023 wedding and had the best experience! Putting so much trust in an event planner was nerve wracking since our wedding going well heavily depended on them, but Jenna hit it out of the park and then some. Our first meeting was a deep dive into our wedding so she could understand where we were and what we wanted, and from there she kept us on track to get everything completed ontime. Having her by our side to remind us of what to do, coordinate our final walk through and timeline, and ensure all our vendors were ready for the day was invaluable.

    On the wedding Jenna was amazing - she was a calm presence in the chaos of the day and made sure everything went off without a hitch! She queued us through the ceremony, kept the DJ on time with music and announcements, and made sure all our food was served, everyone was in place for speeches and any other question or request that came up she was on top of.

    On top of the great service and expertise from Jenna and Ohana events she was an absolute pleasure to work with, always professional and positive and a true friend during a stressful time. Working Danielle and Jenna was one of the best choices we made when wedding planning!

    Best wedding planner!

    I had the pleasure of working with Sonya at Ohana Events as my "day of" coordinator. However, that title is quite misleading, as I texted with Sonya nearly daily for a month or two leading up to the wedding. She initially reached out around the 90 day mark prior to wedding. Sonya helped me maintain sanity in an otherwise insane time of my life (including wedding but also just in general). She was firm when she needed to be, herded all my MANY vendors, maintained professionalism when it was difficult to do so and acted as my advocate and vendor liaison. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Ohana Events (OE), but Sonya is truly a rockstar. As a type A bride, I had my doubts about truly needing a coordinator, but trust me when I say - you'll regret not enjoying your day to the fullest without the support of a "day of" coordinator - on site vendor coordinators are great, but not sufficient.

    Ohana Events, and Sonya, were one of our best decisions!

    We loved working with Ohana throughout our wedding planning process! Danielle was incredibly helpful in the first 6 months of planning answering questions and checking our contracts (we had a partial planning package). We then loved working with Sonya for the last 6 months; she worked incredibly hard to make our wedding the amazing evening it was. In particular we know that working with the caterer leading up to the night was challenging, and then on the night itself was particularly difficult and frustrating. Despite that, because of Sonya's hard and tenacious work, we had the best night of our lives and all of our guests loved the wedding. Some are even complimenting the food, which is truly a testament to Sonya (and not the caterer). We are so so glad we hired Ohana; truly one of the best decisions we made in the wedding planning process.

    Jenna is the best!

    We simply could not have pulled off a wedding of the quality that we had without Jenna @ Ohana Events!

    Some of the many things Jenna did to make our wedding a success:
    -Found a caterer within our budget that met our foodie tastes and could also source a number of kosher meals on a Saturday
    -Wrote and executed the full wedding day timeline
    -Coordinated with all of our vendors and took care of so many little details that we never had to worry or even think about
    -Lead the set up and strike of our decor including hundreds of pillar candles, took them home with her at the end of the night, and dropped them off at our home a few days later at a coordinated time.
    -Kept us on track in the Chicago St. Patricks day traffic and crowds from the hotel, to our photo location, and to the venue.
    -Empathized with and alleviated all of our anxieties

    Working with Ohana and Jenna was super easy from the start. Their packages and contracts are all very clear and reasonable, and they provide a lot of guides and great vendor recommendations to further help with the planning process.

    We had some pretty complex catering needs, and asked Jenna to do a full catering vendor search for us. All of the options she came up with were very high quality, and she helped schedule all of the tastings for the ones we were most interested in. We did move forward with one that she found and had an amazing experience with them! This alone made it 100% worth working with Ohana and Jenna, as the caterer she found was not one that had come up in our own searching.

    Throughout the whole planning process, Jenna was very communicative and helped make the process fun. It was incredible to see how she was able to take our scrambled ideas and pull them into a solid timeline that ended up being perfect on wedding day.

    It's impossible to put into words everything that Jenna did for us, but she is a complete professional that we would absolutely choose again and again! Thank you Jenna for everything!!

    I don’t even know where to begin, Ohana Events was amazing. From the very first call I felt very comfortable with them and that stayed true throughout the entire wedding planning process as well as our wedding day. I worked with Jenna Rainey as my day of planner and I could not be happier to have had her. She was extremely professional and always available when I needed her. She went above and beyond with communication, I could call her or text her with any issue from small to big and she was on top of it immediately. I am very particular, and Jenna was able to come through in every way. When I was too stressed to handle an issue with a vendor Jenna was happy to jump in and take the pressure off me, and I could not be more more grateful for that. I truly do not have enough nice things to say about working with Jenna and Ohana Events. Even if you think you have everything covered, I urge every bride to at least get a day of wedding planner so that you can truly relax on the wedding day and know that if something goes wrong there is someone overly qualified to fix it.     Dream Team!!

    We used Ohana Events for both our Seattle Wedding and Chicago reception, and we cannot say enough positive things about the team!!! Both Rachel and Danielle were so helpful, knowledgeable and on top of it all. They are two of the sweetest women ever and we quickly felt like they wanted to get to know us and showed a genuine interest in our story. Sonya Tran was our partial planner, and there is absolutely no way we could have done it all without her.     Ohana Events Means a Stress-Free Wedding Weekend!

    Booking Ohana Events day-of package wedding planner package was one of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding on October 15, 2022 in Chicago at the Sculpture Garden at Bridgeport Art Center. When we first got engaged, everyone had the same advice: HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER. We had calls with about 7 different planning companies, but we immediately connected with Danielle. While our package didn’t start until 3 months before our wedding, Danielle was incredibly responsive and helpful. She gave her thoughtful POV on our vendor questions and was quick to help with anything we needed. 3 months out we started working with Mara!! Mara was incredibly, calm, confident and helpful our entire process. She was so on top of communication with all vendors, she made me feel so sure everything was covered. When I had concerns about some of the decor one week out, Mara jumped into action and got in touch with all vendors, formulated a plan and took all the stress away. She was incredibly responsive, easy to work with and such a joy. I was COMPLETELY STRESS-FREE on wedding day and I believe a lot of that has to do with Mara running the show. HIGHLY recommend working with Ohana Events for your wedding - they are experts, they are incredibly helpful and above all, they are GOOD, KIND HUMANS.     Hire Ohana!!

    My husband and I booked the in-between package from Ohana for our 8/13/22 wedding since we didn’t feel the need for a full planner, and it was a great choice! We were paired with Jenna, and we loved her from the start. She is super nice, responsive, and makes sure you stay organized and have fun while planning!

    The first meeting in the package we chose is 6 weeks before the wedding date, which is the perfect time to start getting into the details of planning. This is when you begin looking at a timeline for the wedding day together. And let me tell you - the timeline Jenna put together for us was absolutely indispensable! It helped us organize every single decision we needed to make for the wedding, and kept us on track on the actual day of our wedding. There were parts of the day Jenna asked about that we definitely never would have thought of ourselves before it was too late, and we are very grateful that we had the opportunity to really think through how our wedding day would unfold! Once we had our initial timeline meeting, Jenna was super helpful in answering any questions we had while ironing out loose details.

    Everyone warns you that something will go wrong on your wedding day, and you should brush it off. I can tell you with confidence, nothing went wrong on our wedding day, and it was because of Jenna. She kept all of our wonderful vendors on top of things, and was at the venue early on the day of the wedding to make sure everything was set up properly. My bustle broke and she fixed it immediately, she helped us load up a car with gifts and decorations at the end of the night, and really went above and beyond to make sure we were calm and able to enjoy our wedding day.     Amazing wedding planner!

    Ohana events are amazing! Our planner, Rachel, made the wedding planning process so easy. We booked a 90 day package and this was perfect for us. Rachel was available the entire time, and reached out to us almost daily. I canceled my hair and make-up artist a month before my wedding and Rachel answered all my questions about getting out of the contract and handled all communication with my artist. Rachel came to our rehearsal and helped answer any questions we had, as well as communicating with the venue coordinator for us. On the day of, Rachel kept us on schedule and everything went smoothly. Family photos were planned ahead of time, and went so quickly as a result. Both my fiancé and I felt we could enjoy our day without worrying about the logistics, we knew Rachel had it handled. I can’t imagine a better experience with a wedding planner, she truly made our wedding vision come to life. Hire Ohana, you won’t regret it!

    Partial planning package

    Wow words cannot describe how wonderful It was working with Rachel. As a bride who has been to a ton of weddings I had a lot of ideas and a vision, but working in healthcare I had no idea how to execute a large event. We did the partial planning package and it was the best decision. Rachel was excited, kind, supportive and listened to every last detail and idea. She kept my fiancé engaged and excited during long planning meetings and had THE best to do lists and schedules to keep us on track. Without her we would have never been able to timely secure vendors in the craziness of 2022 and we felt so confident that she helped us choose high quality but cost effective vendors. Rachel was prompt in all communication and available for urgent questions and checkins as needed. Day of, she took care of every little detail with calmness and genuine desire to make sure it was the best day ever. Rachel was so fun to work with and i am happy to call her a friend now too! After working with Ohana for the past 10ish months it makes me emotional to think our planning is officially over, but we now have amazing memories to last a life time.     Simply Amazing

    Ohana Events came very highly recommended to us for my daughters wedding and they did not disappoint! They did a great job from preplanning to the day of and even helped navigate a couple vendor issues after the wedding day.

    My family is definitely one to take over and have put on some great events over the years. This left me feeling that I may not need a wedding planner but I was wrong! Rachel was so organized, asked questions I hadn’t thought about, kept the vendors informed and on schedule. Most of all Rachel had a great way of helping my large helpful family feel supported but directed to assure everything was beautiful.     *Destination wedding review* - Ohana was FANTASTIC!

    We worked with Danielle and Rachel and they were absolutely fantastic! We got married at Villa Miani in Rome, Italy. They helped with our pre-planning, as well as the day of, and everything turned out perfectly. First off, finding the right vendors in a foreign country was a challenge and they were a massive help in finding the right people to work with. Working with our vendors' language & cultural barriers made planning more difficult, but Danielle & Rachel were incredibly helpful in working through these challenges, and we ultimately felt like we got the right services & prices.

    They were extremely attentive to detail, and helped us think through many, many elements of our wedding that we had not even considered. This extended from timelines of different activities to complete leading up to the wedding, to budgetary guidance, and of course some fun ideas to make the wedding more memorable for our guests.

    I cannot express enough gratitude for how much I loved working with Ohana Events for my wedding. I worked with Danielle (the owner) and Sonya, the senior planner, for over 3 months leading up to my wedding day. Sonya is an expert in wedding planning and a fantastic day of coordinator. Leading up to the big day, Sonya was readily accessible and always available to answer any questions, iron out the timeline, coordinate with vendors, organize wedding day logistics and so much more. Not to mention, she is so personable and brings such great energy to make wedding planning a smooth and seamless experience for the bride.

    Thorough and Organized!

    Rachel was an absolute ROCKSTAR! We hired her for the in-between package and the six months leading up to the wedding were smooth sailing because of her professionalism, organization and responsiveness. She had our day-of timeline laid out down to twenty minute intervals and even sprinted across the venue to grab my bouquet I forgot right before walking down the aisle.     The best money we spent by far on our entire wedding! We used the “month of” package and had Jenna as our planner. We cannot say enough nice things about Jenna.     Hire ohana!

    HIRE OHANA!! I'm typically one of those people who never writes reviews, just reads them, but these ladies deserve one and I'm excited to write one! I worked with Danielle and Jenna and they were the absolute best! One of the best wedding decisions I made!

    First off, they're the sweetest people ever. They're so kind, fun, and easy going that it made this process so comfortable and fun. I felt like I was hanging out with friends during our timeline call :) Second, besides being amazing humans, they are so professional and excellent at what they do. Their knowledge of the industry, tips, advice, and the way they handle themselves and conduct business it top notch. The level of organization and thoughtfulness put into every aspect of the wedding planning was incredible. I had so many other vendors tell me how impressive their schedule and timeline for the day was. And the wedding day could not have gone smoother. Even guests were complimenting me on them and how great they were and how smooth everything was!

    If you're on the fence of hiring any sort of wedding planner or coordinator, just do it. You will not regret it. And if you need help in choosing, CHOOSE OHANA! You won't be disappointed. I love these girls and hope you do too!!

    Ultimate Wedding Planner!

    Hiring Danielle for our daughter’s wedding was by far the best wedding decision we made! She navigated us through a COVID-delayed wedding, a last minute change from a venue to the couple’s back yard, and solved multiple logistical issues. Danielle’s experience with many vendors was most helpful when the backyard wedding suddenly required vendors which are not needed at a wedding-equipped facility. She always calmly and efficiently managed all details before and during the ceremony and reception. With Danielle as our planner, the wedding day was flawless!!!

    Day of Coordination

    Choosing Ohana Events was one of the best decisions we made regarding our wedding. I was hesitant to hire a coordinator, because I am sort of a control freak and had almost everything planned out already. We hired Ohana Events for a day of coordinator, but it was really several weeks of assistance we received leading up to wedding day. Their help with the timeline and all the other resources provided made everything so much easier. Day of, I didn't have to worry about a thing. I had full trust in my vendors and especially knowing we had Jenna and our extensive timeline to coordinate everyone, we were confident everything was going to run smoothly, and it did. Everything looked and happened just how we had envisioned it. They are super kind and very responsive. We HIGHLY recommend.

    The best wedding coordinator!!

    Where to begin?! Danielle and Ohana Events is one of the best decisions we made when wedding planning. From supporting us as we planned, then re-planned, then re-planned, and then re-planned our wedding again to making every detail go perfectly on our wedding day, Danielle was absolutely amazing to work with! She is so organized, professional, and genuinely wants you to have the wedding day of your dreams. She made us feel so secure and confident in the midst of a chaotic year to plan a wedding. Even though she had numerous other weddings to plan (including her own!), when we worked together, it felt like we were the center of her attention and her top priority. We cannot recommend Danielle and Ohana Events enough!

    Professional & Personable

    Danielle was wonderful. I got married in the middle of COVID pandemic and had to downsize my wedding from 50 guests to 20 and later to 10 of our closest family. My mom passed away a few months prior but always wanted me to get married. I had to change my venue to my home and backyard. During all of this, Danielle made this entire process doable and I felt so very supported. I could always reach her for questions and concerns. My family absolutely loved her on the day of the wedding and she blew us away as she rolled up her sleeves and made my wedding day literally the happiest day of my life! Please consider her for your future wedding planning! You won’t be disappointed! I’m lucky she was my planner!

    Just Say YES to Ohana Events

    SAY YES to working with Danielle!! I can't say enough how supportive, intelligent and helpful Danielle and her team are. She knows the industry through and through. In a situation where you don't know what you don't know, Danielle KNOWS what's normal and what's not and will help you make decisions that fit your desires. There were so many times I thought "I guess that's just a wedding fee" and Danielle was quick to explain if it normal/expected or something we should negotiate/change with vendors. She has great relationships with many, many Chicago vendors who equally adore her which made the whole process of planning enjoyable with very minimal stress. She's incredibly detailed and thorough with every step. She's hands-on and willing to help not only via email and her detailed documents (wedding timeline, venue comparison sheet, 3 month to do list, 1 month to do list, tipping etiquette etc.), but also in person to visit venues, have a timeline meeting, and food tastings. Investing in Danielle was the best money we spent on our wedding and I would do it 100 times over again.

    True Professional that Delivered as Promised!

    It's probably a good sign that I was about to write the same opening sentence as many others who have worked with Ohana Events and then later reviewed them. I was going to say, "Where do I even start?", but I know exactly where to start in describing Rachel's influence on our wedding because it was so critical to our amazing wedding (weekend) on Guemes Island in the Puget Sound off the coast of Seattle, WA. We hired Rachel as our day of coordinator because we needed a true professional present on the day of the wedding to ensure everything went smoothly so we could just enjoy the moment. We got that and so much more with Rachel. It all began with two multi-hour planning sessions many months before the wedding. Rachel was diligent and efficient with that time so it felt like we covered an enormous amount of ground in those calls, and her questions exposed so many areas/topics that we still needed to focus on. It just goes to show that you don’t know what you don’t know, and Rachel’s expertise really shined through in those first calls (and so did her patience!). We really appreciated how professional she was throughout the process, and even though it was great that we liked Rachel as a person, it was super important to us that we hired an extremely competent wedding coordinator and Rachel certainly fits that description. Also my wife and I didn’t have a traditional wedding, and even if that made it challenging at times, it clearly never once phased Rachel. She would accommodate our needs in whatever way possible, and she would offer advice if we explicitly asked for it (but she was quick to remind us that it was our wedding so we always had to make the final decision!). Long story short, if you’re looking for someone that’s going to ensure that your wedding day (or weekend!) is planned and executed exactly how you always envisioned it, there’s no better person than Rachel to make that happen. She also just happens to be a lovely person with a ridiculously cute puppy so that was an extra bonus for us!

    Saved our day

    We met with Danielle in 2020, and were just about to sign a contract when COVID hit. We postponed our wedding by a year, and ended up working with Mara as our main planner and Sonya as her assistant the day of. Creating the timeline and the prep all went pretty much as expected, but the real stand out was the day of. Our venue really dropped the ball, in so many ways. They were under staffed, their A/C was not great, the bridal suite had issues, and to top it all off, it was thunderstorming when we arrived and they hadn't prepared our back up room at all. Mara really stepped up though, and our guests left the event happy, fed, and blissfully unaware for the most part of the myriad of vendor caused issues. Mara made sure she stayed between the venue host and me, which honestly probably brought my stress levels down significantly, because I was so mad by that point. Sonya was also so cheerful and smiley and helped run our pinata bit, which was a really fun part. They made the reception room look great, and the ceremony went ahead as planned, which was a small miracle giving the starting point. I can only imagine what they can do when paired with a stand-up venue as well.

    HIRE OHANA! Absolute best decision we made.

    Where do I start? We hired Ohana back in 2019 for their "Month Of" package to assist us both day-of and in the final weeks leading up to our planned June 2020 wedding. Then Covid happened. We were heartbroken to cancel our June date, but eventually settled on January 2021, assuming the world would be in a better state by then. Ohana stayed on with us, and Danielle and her team quickly shifted gears to help us navigate a new world. As it turned out, the world was not in a better state come January, but we decided to move forward with a now radically different (and much smaller), 3rd version of our wedding. Danielle and her team didn't flinch when we shifted to a completely new venue with weeks to spare. The Ohana team helped us swap out vendors, change rental orders, and shift timelines, all while staying on budget and navigating changing Covid guidelines. When our day finally came, Danielle was with us morning to night to make sure everything ran seamlessly. It was a perfect day. She made sure I did not have to worry about a single thing, and I had the time of my life. To say they went above and beyond would be a massive understatement. Hiring Ohana was hands down the best money we spent through our crazy wedding journey. I cannot recommend them enough!

    Words Cannot Describe How Wonderful They Are!!

    When our wedding plans changed due to COVID, we were stressed, overwhelmed and didn't even know where to begin. Then we met Danielle and Emily and our minds were IMMEDIATELY put at ease. As someone who is also V organized, I thought I would never meet someone who met my standards. BOY was I wrong! From the start, Danielle and Emily asked us all the right questions, put together a game plan and gladly took over all of the things that were stressing us out. Not only that, but they were SO nice, approachable and we actually wanted to stay on our Zoom call with them LONGER than 2 hours! They went above and beyond in every aspect of their service and never made us feel annoying for all the questions we had. The day of our wedding they showed up early, coordinated everything with our vendors, set up last minute things and handled any hiccups (I honestly don't even know if there were any). If you are looking for a wedding planner in the Chicago area, PLEASE hire Danielle and Emily. I seriously cannot say enough how wonderful they were - not just at getting stuff done and staying organized, but at making us feel so loved on our big day!

    Do yourself a favor and book with ohana!

    Do yourself a favor and BOOK WITH OHANA!! We went back and forth about having a day-of coordinator and I am SO thankful that in the end we decided to have one! We first met Rachel when we were looking at venues and although we didn’t love the venue she worked at, we couldn't get Rachel out of our head! From our very first impression she was SO put together and organized and knew everything there is to know about a wedding!! We were thrilled to learn she also did wedding planning and we decided to hire her as our day-of coordinator! She was an absolutely incredible resource for us throughout our wedding planning process whenever we needed advice or vendor recommendations. She especially went above and beyond helping us navigate changing our wedding plans during the pandemic! I’ll never forget coming home to an Ohana events card with a cheerful message encouraging us when we had to postpone our wedding, it was the kindest gesture. Rachel put together the most detailed timeline for our day and then on our actual wedding day Danielle was there to make sure it all ran seamlessly!! Danielle was absolutely incredible on our wedding day, making sure things were on time and people were in the right places! She was SO sweet to all our guests (I know in the past sometimes I've seen wedding planners get a bad reputation with the guests because they are too pushy, but let me assure you that Danielle is SO kind and genuine and would never make your guests feel uncomfortable). She went above and beyond on our actual day and the times she saved the day included (but were not limited) to the following: scrubbing mud out of my wedding dress minutes before I walked down the aisle, sending her assistant to go get eyelash glue when I needed it, sewing my wedding dress sleeve mid reception (yep she had her own little sewing kit), supplying me and my bridesmaids with spray on deodorant whenever we needed it and lastly packing up everything at the end of the night and making sure my husband and I had all our belongings. THOSE REASONS are why it is SO beneficial to have a day of coordinator! Danielle truly had everything I could possibly need and it was so wonderful to have a go-to person on my wedding day so that I didn't have to bother my mom or someone in my bridal party!! I will forever appreciate those day-saving acts of kindness/preparedness. Overall I cannot recommend Ohana events enough!! My sister has already booked them for her wedding in the spring- that is how much we love and trust them!! THANK YOU OHANA!!!!

    Highly recommend!

    Danielle is AMAZING! From the moment we met with Danielle, we quickly realized how prepared she is to help you with your most important day. She is so kind and has a great personality, that you feel like she is your instant friend. I immediately realized that I could not have coordinated my day without her. Especially since I was planning our wedding from out of state. With any issues that arose that day, she quickly took care of and made my day stress free. We had candles that kept going out, and lighting that blew a fuse and she took care of it all! She was always there beside us to make sure we had everything we needed and that everything was going smoothly. Shes great and I HIGHLY recommend her!

    Stellar! Made my microwedding amazing

    I had no intention of ever utilizing a wedding planner, but then the pandemic hit and suddenly I had under 3 months to adjust all my plans, including finding a new reception venue. This is where Danielle came in and really saved the day. She helped us research a list of venues and ended up getting us an amazing deal with a location she had a prior relationship with. It was the perfect spot and met all of our needs – the right vibe, a beautiful space, outdoors, spacious yet intimate – all within our budget. Securing the venue alone was well worth the money spent to connect with Danielle, but even more she was an amazing help on the day of the wedding as well. Several of my family members and friends mentioned how helpful and on top of things she was. A pandemic microwedding might have been our Plan B, but with Danielle’s help, it felt like Plan A. I HIGHLY recommend working with Danielle and her team 😊

    Highly Recommend!

    I couldn’t wait until April to start working with Danielle as our Month of Coordinator for our July 2020 wedding. From the start she was committed to me and the planning process! Even before her scheduled time to work with us began, she was quick to answer any questions I had about vendors and the small details to make our wedding special. Soon after our first meeting in April, my fiancé and I made the difficult decision to postpone. Danielle was so supportive and reassuring. She made us feel like we were her top priority. I was so stressed about this decision and felt such a burden of planning a second wedding. Danielle took on all of that stress and contacted all of my vendors. Within 24 hours she let us know that ALL of our vendors were available for our new date. Danielle was very understanding and was really able to empathize with our situation being a 2020 bride-to-be herself. I continue to be impressed with her commitment to supporting brides through organizing a virtual summit with other event/wedding planning businesses in Chicago. While 2020 hasn’t lived up to its expectations, Danielle has exceeded them and has already started making 2021 the best year yet! I can’t wait to write another review after our wedding next summer, and will be recommending Ohana Events to all of my friends getting married in the future.

    AMAZING experience with Ohana Events when postponing our 2020 wedding

    If you are planning a wedding for 2021... or have to reschedule/postpone your 2020 wedding ... the very best choice you can make is to hire Danielle with Ohana Events!!! We hired Danielle to assist with our summer 2020 wedding. Never did we anticipate having to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic. Trying to figure out all the details or when/how to postpone/reschedule would have been so stressful and overwhelming-- on top of the stress we already felt about all of the changes in our lives and in the world around us.
    The very BEST decision we have made in the wedding planning process is to have Danielle as our wedding planner. (And we have not even had our wedding yet!) Danielle has been so positive and supportive, yet realistic. She talked us through considerations/options with postponing our wedding. And when we ultimately made the decision to postpone, Danielle quickly reached out to all of our vendors, coordinated and researched dates they would be available, possible fees involved with postponement, etc. Then she presented all of our options to us, laid out very clearly and concisely.

    Ultimately, Danielle was able to reschedule EVERY SINGLE ONE of our vendors to a new date next year, with no fees or penalties. Danielle coordinated getting all new contracts written/signed, and truly took on the burden of planning/rescheduling the entire wedding day. She also helped me with ideas for notifying our guests with sample emails/"change the date" cards. Danielle included us in every part of the process of postponement, but ultimately we were so happy to let her use her expertise to coordinate the details of rescheduling an event with the venue and vendors.

    One final note -- Our original agreement with Danielle was for "month of" services-- just the final planning of our wedding. What she has done for us over the past month has been nothing short of incredible, kind, and so so generous. My fiance and I -- as well as our extended families-- are so grateful to her and in awe of her talents!! We could not have made it through this stressful and unexpected postponement without her support, organization, expertise, and kindness.

    The very best choice you can make in planning, postponing, or rescheduling a wedding this year is to get Danielle with Ohana Events on your team!! You will be so happy that you did!!!

    The Best Wedding Decision We Made!!

    Using Ohana Events was the BEST and EASIEST decision we made for our March 2020 wedding at Salvage One in Chicago. We did research on selecting a venue and date...then immediately acknowledged we needed help making the day come together. My PSA if you're debating using a coordinator is this - If you do not want yourself or any family/ friends to worry about any detail for the wedding day....then you need a wedding coordinator...it was worth the investment.

    Danielle/ Ohana Events was recommended by two (separate) friends so definitely knew we had to check out! We had met with other planning companies but we were completely blown away with Danielle's demonstration of her industry expertise and organization! Immediately after meeting her we knew we had to have her.

    We did 'month of planning' with a few additional hours added on. She was extremely flexible in creating a package that worked for us. Her checklist was very helpful and kept us on track with decision making. She also recommend critical vendors (ie photographers, DJ, catering, etc.) and provided honest on-going feedback. Our vendor team was truly perfect for us and wouldn't change a thing.

    And finally when the big day arrived - No one (myself, my fiance, our families) was worried about ANYTHING which is exactly what we wanted! This day completely exceeded any expectations and went off without a hitch all because of her. She was critical during the venue walk through making sure all parties were aligned to the plan and then made sure it all happened!

    Looking back at the day and how perfect it was - it goes directly back to using Ohana Events. We are forever grateful for your help in making our day so perfect

    Worth Every Penny AND SOME.

    Easily the best money we spent on our entire wedding. If anything went wrong at our wedding (which was a month ago) we still don't know about it because Rachel HANDLED.HER.BUSINESS. She's an absolute boss. We hired Ohana as a "day-of" coordinator about a month before our wedding because we were starting to feel overwhelmed by the stress and the details. Within a day of booking, Rachel came to our apartment and sat down with us for several hours to get to know us and learn about our vision. From there, she was armed with all of the information she needed to take over all of the worrying. She was amazing. I HIGHLY recommend Ohana. I want Rachel to plan every day of my life. She's amazing.

    Day of Coordinator

    Wow! I don't know where to begin with Danielle from Ohana Events. We were planning our wedding in Chicago from out of town and Danielle was so helpful there were little to no stress! She is incredibly organized, kind, responsive, and knowledgeable about the everything wedding! My friends were all so impressive with how organized and well thought everything was (especially her detailed timeline). She put my mind at ease on my wedding day, I was able to enjoy the day with my family and bridesmaids without worrying about a thing. It was perfect!     Above and Beyond!

    We are so lucky to have worked with Danielle at Ohana Events! We reached out to Danielle about our destination wedding about 10 months before our wedding date. We knew that we were going to need a lot of help planning a wedding without ever seeing the destination (Playa Del Carmen, Mexico) and planning the biggest and best days of our lives! Danielle stepped up to make sure that every detail we could think of and beyond was perfected for our wedding day! She was there to make the whole process go smoothly from planning vendors to the day of and so on. We are so impressed with how organized and knowledgeable she was with planning a wedding so far away but she helped us tremendously!     A True Wedding Love Story

    This may sound strange but I remember our first conversation like it was yesterday. It was an immediate connection and unfortunately, I had been with other “frogs” to know this was the real deal! Our first conversation just flowed so seamlessly, it was an instant connection. Everything I had been looking for I had finally found! Often when I tell this story people thinking I’m talking about my new husband but I’m actually talking about our wedding planner Rachel!

    She was everything we could’ve hoped for and more. After planning my wedding with another planner for a few months I started realizing I was stressed, doing way too much, coordinating with all the vendors, reviewing all the contracts, etc. I knew it was time for me to part ways. Unfortunately, that was only two months before my wedding and I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to find anyone. Rachel and Danielle are an absolute joy! Though I specifically worked with Rachel, I had the pleasure of meeting Danielle on my wedding day. Even though, it was Danielle’s fiance’s birthday she came to help support our wedding! That’s the level of service you’ll get through Ohana!

    As Jay-z once rapped “Now, back to my Beyonce…”, which in this case is Rachel! I mentally coined Rachel as the Beyonce of wedding planning! She’s a star! She works hard! She gives great recommendations! She’s always present and she always looks so stylish doing it! 😊 Before hiring Ohana Events my inbox was full of communications from vendors. I was managing so much and my stress was through the roof! After hiring Rachel there was so much peace and WAYYY fewer emails! Rachel knew what was important to me and made decisions that kept our wedding visions and values in place. There were things, the day of the wedding that Rachel took care of and I was relieved that she didn’t ask my opinion on and just handled it. Literally, during the wedding, my mom came up to me and said “you have an amazing planner! She’s really taking care of everything!” There were some hiccups along the way like any wedding day will have but I will promise you that there is no one else in this world you’ll want handling those hiccups but Rachel and Danielle!

    So if you don’t read anything else, here are some highlights:
    •She’s the bow on a great gift: At the end of the night, we were able to return to our room and Rachel had nicely packed everything up for us in there. (our hotel was literally 7 steps away from our reception so I’m not sure how that would work out if you are far away)
    •She makes decisions: I could list countless examples
    •She advocates: There were two things that came up 2 weeks before our wedding that she handled for us. I don’t know what she did or how she did it but the stuff got HANDLED!
    •She makes quality recommendations

    The Good:
    •The timeline! OMG coming from a person who loves organization- that document is GOLD!

    The Bad:
    •I told Rachel often the thing I didn’t like about her the most is that I didn’t meet her sooner. And now that my wedding is over it’s that we don’t have another event to plan together!

    The Bottom Line:
    •When I first started planning my wedding, I tried cutting corners to save money on a wedding planner but take it from me – don’t do that! Find cheaper chargers, different floral arrangements, maybe even a different dress, like that’s how important it is to hire a quality planner!

    As Lilo said on Lilo & Stitch “Ohana means family” and truly Danielle and Rachel felt like family throughout this process. Our wedding couldn’t have been the magical wedding of the decade that it was without Rachel.

    Fantastic Planning and Excellent Execution Throughout!

    The first thing you need to know about Danielle is her level of commitment to you as a client and your event. Danielle met my (then) fiancé and I for our introductory meeting at a nearby Starbucks during last year’s Polar Vortex, when it was -20 degrees outside. If that doesn’t prove her level of commitment, I don’t know what will. Danielle was extremely friendly, welcoming and energetic about our event. She first wanted to know more about us, how we met, the proposal, and our ‘vision’ for the wedding, rather than immediately describing her services. When it came time to understand her process, Danielle took time to explain her experience as an events coordinator, even before launching Ohana Events, and then walked us through the various services offered within each package. We knew immediately after meeting with Danielle, that we wanted Ohana Events for our wedding.

    Danielle pays attention to details and reviewed every single one of our vendor contracts. She also provided a few recommendations, such as, what vendors to pursue and those we might want to reconsider. Given Danielle’s growing business, she has worked with a number of venues, florists, bands, transportation companies, etc. and helped us through the decision making process for each. In that vein, Danielle caught a number of errors within multiple contracts and helped us navigate those conversations with our vendors.

    On the day of our wedding, Danielle was an absolute rockstar! She knew exactly where everyone was to be, at what moment and in what location. Danielle was operating at another level, committing every detail to memory; this kept us (and more importantly) our parents calm throughout the entire day. For example, when it came time to take pictures after the ceremony, Danielle commanded the room, calling out the names of friends and family who would be in the next picture; this expedited the process and allowed us to get to the reception on time.

    In short, our wedding weekend was executed flawlessly. No mistakes, no errors, no last minute changes…all because of Danielle. I highly recommend Danielle to anyone who desires peace of mind, appreciates attention to detail, and who wants a professional who understands how a wedding weekend should be structured and executed. When you meet with Danielle, you’ll know exactly what I mean.

    Top Class Planner

    Rachel did such an amazing job at our wedding in September 2019. We could not have gotten married without her and Danielle! Neither we nor our Mom’s were stressed at any point during the day and night. We were able to fully enjoy our wedding and being in love with each other. If there was chaos behind the scenes, we had no idea. 

    Rachel was an exceptional communicator - she knew the right times to yell and take control of a large group and the right times to speak with someone one-on-one in the most reassuring and comforting way. Rachel also did a wonderful job of blending in to the scenery despite completing 300+ tasks (or more?). She conducted yourself with absolute class.

    Having Danielle Day-Of is a MUST!

    After working with Danielle, I am positive that a day of coordinator is the BEST wedding gift you can give yourself (or someone else). Danielle is so organized, pragmatic, thoughtful, attentive, and kind.

    One of the things I discovered on my wedding day was that you care about the details... until you don’t. Danielle does an amazing job of the balancing act between bringing things to my attention when a decision needed my input, but just taking care of everything else without me needing to know.

    Our day would not have been what it was without Danielle and Ohana Events. We feel so lucky that we were able to have Danielle as our wedding planner.     Absolutely everything we were hoping for and more...

    We, our family, and everyone at the wedding was blown away by Danielle and her team. We partnered with Ohana Events for Day-Of Planning and she was absolutely incredible. We had reservations in the beginning, wondering if it would even be necessary to have the help of a planner. In the end, I'm so glad we did and I don't think we could have done it without her. I had planned a very elaborate setup with a lot of our own decorations, complete with fully-stocked bathroom trays, countless candles, floral arrangements, and candy bar jars and scoops. I completely underestimated how much work it would be to unload, set up, breakdown, and reload everything at the end of the night (our venue didn't allow overnight storage of any kind). In addition, many of our floral arrangements and our ceremony arch was re-purposed for centerpieces or reception decorations. Working around guests during cocktail hour to do so, Danielle was seen everywhere, constantly moving, and making sure everything and everyone was where they needed to be when. Danielle never batted an eye when we told her all that we needed her to take care of. All of those countless candles, huge ferns, and decorations magically ended up back in their boxes and in our vehicle at the end of the night. We rushed out of our reception to meet our limo, and simply handed our keys over to Danielle, who arranged to have it delivered back to the hotel that so it would be waiting for us in the morning, packed and ready to go. Her get-to-know-you meeting in the weeks leading up to the wedding was so thorough. You could tell that she was looking to make the day as special to us as we imagined it. She showed up to our hotel the morning of the wedding with something like 8 umbrellas (it was unexpectedly raining) for all of our family to use as we headed out to our venue. She set up our candy bar table, cleaned up our bridal suite (more than a couple of times during the evening), set up the guest party favor table, orchestrated our rehearsal, wrangled family for post-ceremony pictures, etc., etc., and was just a complete ROCKSTAR. I can't sing her praises enough. Even weeks after the wedding we were still getting comments from friends and family about "that amazing planner". We would recommend Danielle and Ohana to anyone looking for an event planner in Chicago, the surrounding areas, and beyond. Thank you, Ohana!

    Danielle and her team were absolutely incredible to work with! I used Danielle as a day of planner, but she went above and beyond what I expected that to entail. Danielle's experience in the industry and with vendor's in the industry made the planning process 200 times easier. Danielle is excellent at handling adversity and guiding you through the more delicate negotiations and conversations of wedding planning.     She was fabulous!

    Danielle is wonderful! Her kindness goes a long way. She was incredibly helpful in making all the details of our wedding fall into place. We had many props that needed to be set up because we were throwing a 1920's wedding and she placed everything exactly how we wanted. She was very organized and it made the wedding day go like clockwork. She was really fast in responding to emails and texts and had an answer to everything! I'm really thankful to her for all the details she reminded us of that we hadn't considered. Her suggestions were perfect and we couldn't have pulled it off without her. Would recommend her in a heart beat! She really is the perfect person for this job! I hope to have a reason to work with her again in the future.

    Danielle was an integral part of our day!

    We had a great experience working with Danielle and we would absolutely recommend her as a coordinator for other brides and grooms. She is extremely organized, very flexible and willing to jump in and help. She went to bat for us with vendors who weren't up to par and she made an effort to get to know our venue prior to the event since it was new to her (it was the little things that really meant a lot). On the night-of, she did a great job orchestrating behind the scenes so that my husband and I didn't have to worry about a thing!

    Summer Chicago Wedding

    Danielle and Rachel were absolutely great to work with! We hired Ohana to help with day-of planning, and it was one of the best decisions that we made. I had no idea what to expect with this whole process, but Danielle was super hands on prior to the wedding, gave us great insight about the flow of the ceremony/reception, and took care of every timeline detail. Even though we knew Danielle would not be there on the day of our wedding, Rachel was there the whole time. We met with her before the wedding to go over the timeline and I knew I could trust her without reservation! Rachel was calm, detail oriented and super nice. She was like a breath of fresh air on our wedding day! She seamlessly kept my husband and I updated on what we needed to do or what came next. If there were issues on the day of our wedding - I honestly still do not even know about them to this day, as she made it seem as though everything was perfect! I honestly thought she was gonna kill me when I sent over a list of all these signs/pictures that we wanted to put up for decor around the ceremony and reception, haha. But she took every effort to make sure that everything was exactly where we could have imagined! Loved having her there, it allowed my husband and our families to truly enjoy our day.     The people at Limelight Catering (one of the best in Chicago) recommended Danielle, so I gave her a call. And of all the decisions we've made about this wedding, working with Danielle was the best of them. Let's get straight to it. Danielle is an AMAZING human being. She is probably one of the most organized people I have ever met. She is polite but direct (so important in party planning.) She has social skills in the genius category. She literally defines the phrase, "Above and beyond;" Danielle came to our shower - her own idea and not part of the contract - and helped keep things flowing smoothly. When the music wasn't working, she walked all the way back to her apartment to get wireless speakers. Most importantly, she has amazing ideas and resources. She understands your aesthetic and your desire for the event and makes it happen. There would not be a wedding happening without this lovely young woman. She is simply super human.     Danielle went above and beyond for our wedding at the end of June. Not only did she help us plan everything prior to the big day amazingly, the day of she was just spectacular. Some background on our wedding day: It was the hottest day ever. The heat index was 110 and it was an all outdoor wedding. My wife is a worrier which of course also gets me anxious, especially with something this big. Danielle on the other hand, was cool, calm and collected. She along with her assistant ran all over making sure everything was perfect. She was everywhere at once and had complete control of the hectic environment. The result of her hard work was by far one of the most spectacular days of my wife's life, my life, and our families' lives. I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you Danielle. Without your amazing abilities in your field we could not have accomplished everything that came to pass.     I was honestly a little bit hesitant about hiring a wedding planner at first because I had such a specific style and I was scared of not being able to communicate my vision. But, Danielle did AMAZING with understanding exactly what I did and didn't want. She took away virtually all of the stress of communicating with vendors and the seemingly millions of tiny decisions. And even though she took control of the reigns, I still 100% felt that my wedding was my own, which was sooo important to me because I absolutely did not want a cookie cutter wedding.     My husband and I could not say enough about how great our experience was with Danielle. From the moment we hired Ohana Events to even weeks after the wedding day, Danielle was an invaluable resource. She was willing to go beyond what was expected and contact other vendors in order to coordinate quotes, contracts, and timing. Furthermore, our meetings regarding the vendor list and wedding timeline were beneficial and stress reliving. I was a bride who felt very overwhelmed throughout the wedding planning process and at each meeting Danielle was able to set achievable goals. Danielle is also extremely personable and she values communication with her clients. On the wedding day, Danielle and her assistant helped make sure that everything ran as smooth as possible.     Danielle Kuhn was essential to our wedding day. When we first reached out to Danielle, we thought a coordinator was a ‘nice to have’. But after 30 min on the phone, we realized that her expertise, relationships, and experience at our venue (Morton Arboretum) were essential. Every detail was absolutely amazing and our families haven't stopped talking about how grateful they were to have her guiding us the whole day. She went above and beyond the entire day.

    Before our wedding, Danielle created a detailed timeline and coordinated with our vendors to ensure that they knew where/ when to arrive. She also put together a summarized schedule for our bridal party and prepped us so we knew exactly what we needed laid out and ready for photos.

    On the morning of our wedding, Danielle immediately got to work keeping us on schedule and ensuring we got the photos and video we wanted. When we arrived at the venue, Danielle already had our tables set up with votives, ceremony rugs and large planters moved to the correct locations, and gift table set up exactly as we envisioned. We literally didn’t have a thing to worry about! Before our ceremony, I overheated and had to get out of my dress. Danielle knew how worried I was to get sick during the ceremony and offered suggestions to change the ceremony to ensure I felt comfortable. She suggested major changes and I felt comfortable choosing because we knew she could execute flawlessly.

    After the ceremony, Danielle was essential in getting the right people in our photos so our photographer could focus. She then helped bustle my dress in a few short minutes. We didn’t have to worry about a single detail because Danielle was already on top of everything. At the end of the reception, we went to take a few extra photos and when when we arrived back, our car was magically packed up and all of our tip envelopes had been distributed. I honestly don't know how we would've gotten through the day without her. Thank you, Danielle!

    There are really no words to describe Danielle. She is super attentive and pays attention to every last detail! Additionally...she is just an overall nice person to work with. The days leading up to our big day were so organized and on schedule. On the day of our wedding, I literally didn't have to lift a finger....just sit back and enjoy the day. All of our vendors were all ready to go and the timeline went so smoothly all thanks to Danielle. And bonus, her bride and groom were long distance, which made her job even more challenging, but she was able to keep us with us despite the distance.     We absolutely loved working with Danielle and we feel that she is responsible for our perfect wedding day. Danielle met with us numerous times before our big day in order to go over all of the wedding details. She was always extremely organized and presented materials in such a way that I never felt overwhelmed by the planning process. In addition, Danielle kept us on track with our end of planning. Danielle was also responsible for helping us select our DJ, photo booth, and videographer; all of which were not on the preferred vendor list for our venue, but Danielle knew they would be a perfect fit for our wedding (which they were). Danielle even showed up to our rehearsal dinner, despite the fact that she had a family emergency, because she is so responsible and cared so much about ensuring that our big day ran smoothly. On our actual wedding day Danielle ensured that everything ran smoothly and she handled any and all hiccups along the way (for example guests that showed up that didn't RSVP). All in all, we absolutely loved working with Danielle and HIGHLY RECOMMEND her as a wedding planner.     My wife and I have known Dani since our high school days, circa de 2007-2010.. We thought it might make the wedding planning a little smoother because she knew who we were, what we were about, etc. We were dead wrong.... She made wedding planning UNBELIEVABLY SEAMLESS and SIMPLE. For example....when we were looking for a photographer, we explained to her about what we were looking for and where we might want to take pictures...From there Dani sent us a list of potential options she felt would best fit our personalities and ideas. Not only did her recommendations align EXACTLY with what we were hoping for, we're now passing off Dennis (our photographer) off to the rest of our siblings.

    All of the typical stresses in wedding planning were honestly non-existent. From the venue, to the DJ, to the tastings, whatever it was, things were laid out in front of us, meetings were planned and scheduled.. all we did was decide what we liked most and that was it...

    Dani was always transparent with her experiences in previous weddings (her experience for being only 25 is unparalleled).

    Having Dani as our wedding planner was 100% worth every bit of the investment and knowing that my wife, my family and my friends look back at our wedding with such fond memories speaks for the work she put it, ESPECIALLY THE DAY OF.

    Dani put together a meal for my wife and I to share, post church ceremony and pre reception where we had excellent food, time to gather our thoughts and prepare for what was ahead.
    She had the bridal party hold "10" signs for us during our Husband and Wife first dance, which we had no idea about.
    She gave my wife the idea to get Blackhawks tickets for me and have them waiting in our room as a surprise.

    Danielle was simply amazing when it came to planning our wedding. We didn’t know where to start, and Danielle took our dream and transformed it into everything we could have imagined. She also has a wonderful personality that makes any process of wedding planning not only exciting but fun!     Dani was an extreme pleasure to work with. From the very start she was professional and very knowledgeable on what venders she recommended for my daughter’s wedding. She laid out many different vendors at different price points and style which helped us figure out who would work best for us. Because we hired Dani before any contracts were signed, she was extremely helpful in negotiating the venue contract. She knew what concessions should be included which helped leverage our negotiation. What we spent on her services we ended up saving in the long run by her connections and negotiating power. And not to mention the amount of stress she took away was invaluable. Dani was also very detail oriented with the wedding timeline she created. It was thorough and had details as small as what time my daughter should bustle her dress. We could not ask for a better experience, and highly recommend Dani if you’re looking for a detail-oriented, passionate, and personable planner.     We worked with Danielle Kuhn while she was with Effortless Events in connection with our April 2016 wedding at the Morton Arboretum and were thrilled and delighted with her service, which I know she will bring to her own venture with Ohana! I knew I needed someone for "Day Of" coordination because I wanted my family and loved ones to just sit back and enjoy the day without needing to worry about how all the moving parts would come together. Even with just a day-of planning package, we received a lot more than just Danielle's help on the actual day. Danielle's advice and familiarity with the venue was so valuable to us and we are so grateful to her. Danielle's philosophy is to make sure we are aware of all our options (and potential pitfalls) so that we can make fully informed choices. So she pointed out certain things to us that we might want to consider adding, but then was completely respectful and not pushy at all if we decided against her recommendation. But in many cases we took her recommendations because they were grounded in experience and wisdom (i.e., she recommended we add more appetizers and late night snacks and we were so glad we did because they were gobbled up by hungry guests).

    Danielle met with me two times in downtown Chicago (close to my office) to help me with planning (and she offered to meet more frequently if I needed it); she provided us with a detailed Day Of Schedule that I never would have thought to do, and would have needed to do a lot of Googling to put together on my own. She was then there on the day-of to walk us all through it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

    Danielle was the lead planner for my wedding last year, and she was truly amazing! She made the planning process so much easier- she suggested amazing vendors that I wouldn't have found on my own, kept everything incredibly organized, and offered her honest opinions without being pushy. (And she was fun to work with- bonus!) She made the day go really smoothly- I was able to enjoy the wedding without worrying about anything and a year later I still have people tell me it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. I’m so excited for Danielle as she starts her own company, and I can’t recommend her highly enough!!

    Danielle is an absolute dream to work with! I was lucky enough to have her before the wedding, to help me tie up loose ends and get all the details squared away! I was very much a planner on my own, and she was open to the ideas that I had, and was willing to work with my vision. When bumps along the way came up (shuttle service going out of business), Danielle responded quickly with other companies and quotes that were aligned with the original ones. She provided schedules to all my vendors, a schedule for me to provide to our wedding party, and even included one to our officiant, who was our cousin. One the day of, she was amazing. Her attention to detail, allowed every one of our ideas to come to light. As I was speaking to people during happy hour, she made sure to take cards from me, refill my drink, and even made sure that our special coozie was on my beer for all to see. At the end of the weekend, I was sad that our time working together had come to an end, because she was wonderful to work with and became a friend. If you are in need of someone to help you navigate your wedding and the wedding world, Danielle would be your gal, and won't be disappointed!

    Disaster. I wouldn’t recommend

    Danielle and her team were awful. I recommend spending your money elsewhere. I have never dealt with people so incompetent in my life.

    Danielle gave us a massive discount to be our day of wedding planner and it was a complete disaster.

    I'm going to give a few examples of the disaster of a coordinator she was or else this would be a really long review.

    Half of the time she was nowhere to be found( when my reception outfit when missing, when snacks where put in the wrong room, etc.)
    She lied about things she did (ie she claimed she switched up my lighting because she didn't like it, yet it was the same color that the decorator had texted me pictures if after set up)
    She was completely incompetent at small tasks:
    She didn't take the flip flops out to the dance floor
    She didn't set up our video booth correctly (didn't plug in the mic which was on the direction sheet) and rendered our video memories useless.
    She let random people put shitty decorations around our cake that we had never approved
    She spent the last few hours of our wedding being sad and bringing attention to her moping.
    She prided herself on being vigilant of the gift table, yet it was my family members that took the box up because she forgot to take it up at the time I asked her to.

    I honestly felt like it was a waste of 1000 dollars and that my friends/family ended up doing 90% of the tasks I had asked her to do.

    A good chunk of our friends also kept mentioning what a disaster she was.


    The saddest part of it all is that she thought she did a great job (which she did not) and since she enjoyed herself that it was okay.


    She also thought it was appropriat to ask our photographers for our password locked photos to post on instagram, when it specifically said that she couldn't do that in ouR contract.
