Couldn’t have done it without Sun!
After interviewing close to 10 wedding planners, we decided to work with Sun and her team at I Do, and looking back, it was easily one of the most important and best decisions we made for our wedding.
From the very beginning, Sun was extremely organized and had a proven system in place that made the whole process feel smooth and manageable. She was always available through text and email whenever we had questions, and her wide network of vendors helped us bring together exactly the kind of wedding we had envisioned.
No matter how unique or specific our requests were, Sun always did her best to make them happen. We wanted to have fireworks at a venue that was more strict and she investigated all the options for us to consider.
On the wedding day, the execution was perfect. Everything came together beautifully from our Pinterest board and countless discussions and our dream wedding vision truly came to life. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but working with Sun took so much of that stress away and made the entire process feel like a breeze. When friends ask me if it was stressful, I always say no because it truly was such a fun time having Sun plan our wedding with us! She also anticipated our needs and would help address them proactively which we really appreciated.
We can’t thank her enough for all the hard work, care, and attention she put into making our day so special. -

We had a great experience working with Sun and her team! Sun was patient with us throughout our 1.5-year planning process - she was always available, responsive, and offered invaluable insight to help all our ideas come to life. More than just the planning, the day-of execution was excellent. We had 6 different food and beverage vendors, and Sun was able to coordinate effectively with each of them. Most of all, we had the best time at our wedding, and we were able to relax, spend time with our guests, and soak in the moment. Many of our guests even said that it was the best wedding that they had attended. We found Sun through social media and validated on our decision after our initial call. We live in California so it was important to choose a wedding planner in Hawaii that would have the connections with wedding vendors and wedding venues that are compatible with our wedding vision.
My husband and I come from different backgrounds- I am Filipino and he is half Persian. Sun had the experience with Filipino and Persian weddings, had connections with vendors/venues which gave us the confidence in bringing our vision to life while incorporating both cultures in our wedding.
With her professionalism, positive attitude and organizational skills she was able to make this wedding planning process a breeze. She streamlined our wedding timeline and kept us on track through emails and zoom calls. When it was our wedding day, all of the wedding details fell into place seamlessly. We will never forget how special our wedding day was and we couldn’t have done it without Sun!

Hiring Sun was the best decision we made for our wedding. After only one initial call we knew instantly that we HAD to work with her. Her and I (the bride) immediately bonded over our many similarities and our birthdays being one day apart... It also helped that she has impeccable taste! ... ALSO everywhere we went on the island (and we'd mention she was our planner) people in the industry knew her and hold working with her in high regard.
Being based in New Jersey while planning a destination wedding in Hawaii could have easily been stressful, but Sun kept us calm, on track, and was there for us every. single. step of the way.
Sun knew how important it was to my now husband and I (whose family is from there) to incorporate Hawaiian traditions in an authentic and meaningful way and this was evident in every thoughtful detail. She also brought together an incredible team of vendors who matched her level of passion and expertise, making the day extra special.
It's evident that she's the best in her field but more than that, her genuine love for what she does and the care for the couples she works with shines through.
On our wedding day, every detail was executed flawlessly—There are no words to express how she ensured it surpassed our wildest dreams. Our guests are still raving that "this wedding will be hard to beat!"

My husband and I had the best destination wedding we could have ever dreamed of thanks to Sun and the I Do team! We were worried how we were going to do it all from abroad, so we are so glad we had Sun to help us figure out all of the details for the last year and a half! She checked in with us frequently to make sure we were on schedule for all of our deadlines and was very quick to respond whenever we had a question. She even helped us out with some of our more unique asks without hesitation. As people who were not as familiar with the wedding planning process, Sun was very patient with us in explaining the options and a timeline for us. Planned the most amazing day!
My husband and I had the BEST day of our lives because of Sun and the I Do weddings team. Our wedding day wouldn’t have been anything without them. From the very beginning, Sun has been keen to listening to Tommy and I’s priorities during the wedding planning process. Once we discussed the overall theme we wanted for the wedding, she lined up the perfect team of vendors that would match what we wanted. She was also open minded to us using vendors that we preferred or chose based on recommendation of others! I appreciated the constant communication throughout the planning process and also loved that I could literally text her about any wedding questions, at any time, and not feel like I was asking silly questions. She was professional, made us feel heard, and planned an amazing wedding. During the wedding, every team member was so sweet to me, ensuring that I was fed and feeling good. After the ceremony, one of the team members even grabbed my husband and I a chair while we waited for the grand entrance to begin. Literally so sweet. THE wedding planner to hire!
Sun is the BEST wedding planner! We had 6 months to plan a destination wedding in Honolulu and Sun lent her expertise and guidance in the most helpful way. She gave suggestions when we had no clue what to do and she also has preferred vendors you can select from that offer discounts. Sun made our vision a reality - from the welcome coconuts, pineapple cups, shave ice stand, and even picking up Leonards malasadas! Sun was so incredibly helpful with coordinating with everyone on the day of the wedding, especially when it rained and we had to wait it out and move certain vendors under our tent. Thank you so much Sun and your team for making our wedding the best our guests have attended!! You need your wedding to revolve around (the) Sun ;) -

I can’t recommend Sun and her team enough. After 6 months of struggling to plan our wedding alone, our friends and family made us look for a planner on the islands. I reached out to a friend who worked in event planning in Hawaii and she connected me with Sun, describing her as the “best” planner on the island. Some things that really made a difference having Sun help us:
1. Sun got “Yes”s from the venue and vendors when we previously got “No”s;
2. Sun added terms to vendor contracts we definitely needed, but never would have thought to add;
3. Sun gives you little homework assignments alone the way (like choosing a photographer), but gives you a list of vendors she likes and specifically highlights vendors that she thinks align best with your aesthetic;
4. The day of the wedding and few weeks leading up to the wedding were a breeze because she’s got everything covered and you can just relax and enjoy; and
5. She embraced our unconventional vision (morning wedding followed by a sunset afterglow on the beach) and worked with all the vendors/venue to bring it to life.
Such a beautiful wedding I will never forget. -

Sun Kim is wonderful to work with. Early in the planning process for our destination wedding, we knew we needed some help getting the details right on the wedding day. Even though I was determined to do the bulk of the planning on my own from DC, we wanted to be sure that our friends and family didn't have to take on anything on the day and we could relax without having to worry about schedules, vendors, set up or take down. From our first call, she carefully laid out exactly what month of coordination services we could expect from her. We were put at ease knowing we were in good hands. From 30 days out, we worked together to set up a timeline/ day of schedule, reception program, turned over all of our vendor contacts (a huge relief to me), and managed details like the guest list, seating chart, bridal party contact info, and more. She ran our rehearsal with care and made sure we were completely confident for the next day. On the day of, she was available for everything I needed and handled all of the details, right down to making sure our malasada cake was plated exactly the way I wanted it. I really appreciated how available she was for communication, even though I seemed to be calling her from a different bridesmaid's phone all day! The ceremony and reception program went exactly as planned and on schedule. There were absolutely no hiccups or mistakes on the day. As Mother of the Groom, my son and daughter in law got married in Oahu at the Kualoa Ranch. Sun and team were such an important part of planning their destination wedding. They coordinated everything from the floral arrangements, food, signage, tents/tables, vendors and of course the timing of all activities. I commend Sun's attention to detail and her calm persona!
I also wanted to share something that happened 8 minutes before the wedding ceremony. There was an unexpected twist as my Mother, Aunts and Uncle arrived in a taxi at the bottom of the hill vs directly to the gardens. Sun got in her car and drove down to the bottom of the hill and retrieved them. She helped alleviate stress on both ends by picking them up. I am grateful for her grace in that scenario. Sun was like my fairy godmother wedding planner. I don't know what I would have done without her. Being a bride can be a challenge...being a bride during COVID-19 is a whole different story. I reached out to Sun over a year before my wedding knowing that I needed help as it was a destination wedding. From day one (1), Sun was super responsive and was on it! From multiple COVID restriction/requirement changes on Oahu to a venue change, Sun coordinated everything with all of the vendors and always kept my husband and I updated. If there was an obstacle, Sun was there and ready. She somehow managed to keep me calm throughout the entire process and that is hard for someone who likes to know every single detail. Our wedding day was an absolute dream. I told her what I wanted - the theme, the colors, the vision and she made everything come true. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding and feel so fortunate to have been able to work with Sun. If you have the chance to work with Sun for your wedding, consider yourself lucky! You are in amazing hands - absolutely no regrets and we now have memories to share for the rest of our lives because of her. -

Best money we spent
When my husband and I decided to have our wedding in Hawaii, there was no doubt in my mind that we needed a wedding planner to help us out. We both have incredibly stressful jobs so it was immeasurably helpful to have someone to count on to keep things moving and on track so that we didn’t have to think about it! She was great working with our budget and ideas - honestly without her our wedding would not have been nearly what we wanted. On the day of, I didn’t have to lift a finger or worry about a single thing - Sun was on top of all of it and I got to simply enjoy. This was honestly the best money we spent. My husband didn’t initially see the need for a planner, but now agrees Sun was worth every penny. If you’re on the fence, just do it! You will not regret it. -

I unfortunately was a Covid bride and had to postpone my wedding a year. I also had to switch venues last minute, which caused even more stress. Luckily, I had Sun Kim on my side. We originally decided for her to be a day of coordinator, but when the pandemic hit she not only took the role as a full time wedding planner, but also as a good friend and someone that I could talk to about my frustrations. She listened to my complaints on countless occasions and gave the best possible advice. Her guidance and expertise on wedding planning are unmatched, making her a preferred vendor. Definitely makes sense and well deserved! I will miss talking with her all the time because she truly became a friend of mine. I 1000% recommend Sun Kim and her assistant as your wedding planner. Being a dual military couple, my mother is back home on the East Coast and was not able to assist as much in the wedding planning process, but again I was not worried because of Sun Kim. Sun Kim gave us the care and guidance that we needed, from Day 1. We had a very specific theme in mind for our wedding that we could only describe in a few adjectives. She was on-board, immediately. There were times where we would go off theme a little bit and she was not afraid to let us know if it would clash with what we had already planned. She was graceful and attentive to detail. And our wedding turned out absolutely perfect. We asked for random things to be ready for us that evening like: chilled shots waiting for us at the end of the ceremony, and appetizers waiting on the table for us so that we don't get "Hangry". We could not be happier having Sun help us. But most importantly, we are so happy to have met such a wonderful person whom we'll remember always. -

My husband and I started planning our Hawaii destination wedding renewal (been married for 10 years and never had a big wedding, so why not!?) about 18 months before the big day. We knew we needed a planner who was in Hawaii to help us work through all the wedding details since we live in San Francisco. I had interviewed a few other wedding planners but really hit it off with Kim. I knew she was the right planner when I told her that I am an over-the-top control freak who is easily agitated and that didn't scare her away. :) Planning our wedding renewal with Kim was so much fun! Kim made sure we didn't freak out about planning by always fielding our numerous questions and being on top of all wedding details. She listens to what you want but still provides her honest opinion and advice so you can make the best decision. Kim brought our wedding day vision to life and it was amazing and flawless! We love her!

We were hesitant about hiring a coordinator but ended up being so glad we did (especially when ours turned out to be a destination wedding—on the most popular wedding date this year).
She was able to bring to life the vision that I sometimes couldn’t even explain in words.
Everything we asked for was delivered on. Sun was attentive, always calming and punctual. She stayed within budget, found us every little random thing requested, and did it all with a smile. She’s resourceful and smart and we couldn’t have done it without her.
