From the very beginning, we knew we wanted our wedding to be more than just a weekend of events—we wanted to create an experience that reflected who we are and brought joy to all our guests. Thanks to Cheryl, Rohit, Simran, and the entire Glitzzy Events team, that dream became a reality—and truly, it was beyond anything we could have imagined.
Planning a destination wedding from Vancouver, while having no family or friends in Austin, was a daunting thought. But Cheryl made what could have been a stressful process feel seamless and even exciting. Her calm presence, creativity, and incredible organizational skills turned every challenge into an opportunity to make things even better.
Over three unforgettable days, we celebrated five events—a warm Welcome Dinner, a traditional Grah Shanti/Haldi, a vibrant Sangeet, a breathtaking Wedding ceremony, and an elegant, travel-themed Reception. Each event felt distinct, yet beautifully cohesive, thanks to Cheryl’s attention to detail and her team’s flawless execution. She not only understood our vision, but elevated it with thoughtful touches that reflected our personalities and cultures. From decor and food to vendor coordination and timing, everything ran like clockwork.
Throughout the planning journey, Cheryl was more than our planner—she was our guide, confidant, and at times, our superhero. She navigated the emotions of wedding planning with empathy, supported us through our ups and downs, and always ensured we felt heard and cared for. Her communication and commitment gave us peace of mind every step of the way.
Our guests flew in from across the U.S., Canada, and even Belgium, and days later, we were still receiving messages like, “I haven’t danced like this in decades,” and “This was the best wedding I’ve ever been to.” Hearing that from the people we love most was the ultimate gift, and it’s all thanks to the hard work and passion of the Glitzzy team.
Cheryl and Rohit started out as our wedding planners—but by the end, they became our family. We cannot recommend Glitzzy Events highly enough to anyone looking for a truly special and unforgettable wedding experience.

We had our Telugu wedding in Austin in December 2025, and working with Cheryl over the 14 months leading up to it was one of the best decisions we made. From day one, she was incredibly communicative, organized, and genuinely invested in making our vision come to life. Planning an Indian wedding can be complex, but Cheryl’s experience really showed. She always had thoughtful suggestions, helped us navigate vendor decisions, and made the entire process feel so much more manageable.
One thing that really stood out was how highly all of our vendors spoke about Cheryl and her team. It gave us so much confidence knowing we were in such good hands. Rohit was also amazing during the wedding week. He was so hands-on and always around when we needed anything. From early mornings to late nights, the team was there for whatever came up, big or small.

We could not have chosen a better wedding coordination team than Glitzzy Events. Cheryl did a stellar job of leading the show, ensuring we had regularly scheduled meetings and openly sharing her valuable ideas/opinions based on her extensive experience in the industry. Simran and Rohit remained supportive and helpful throughout the process, actively participating in the meetings and assisting with brainstorming solutions to potential obstacles. We particularly appreciated that they understood important cultural elements of a good Indian wedding. On our wedding day, they ensured everything was organized and timely, running the entire operation seamlessly. They were quick to help out as needed, including for spontaneous/unexpected assistance that was required. We received feedback from several family and friends (in attendance and those watching through live stream) that our wedding was very well-planned: This would not have been possible without the professional coordination by Glitzzy Events. The cherry on top was that they did it all with a warm, friendly smile on their face and a positive attitude. I can’t say enough great things about the team at Glitzzy Events & specifically, Cheryl Fernandes. When I set out to find a wedding planner, I had a vision for my wedding, but didn’t have any idea of where to start. Neither my husband nor I live in Austin, so we wanted a full-service planner who could take care of every detail — and that’s exactly what Cheryl did. She took into consideration both me and my husband’s preferences and was able to seamlessly integrate our family’s desires with ease, architecting one of the best days of our lives.
The day before our wedding, we made a last minute change to indoors because of the heat and Cheryl was a lifesaver. She went above and beyond to make sure that the indoor change still fit our initial vision. Our ceremony was on time, concise and a beautiful blend of both of our cultures, which is what we set out to achieve. I can't tell you how many compliments we got about our wedding from our guests.

We first heard Cheryl’s name while touring venues; it kept coming up with glowing praise and now we know why! Hiring Cheryl about ten months before our wedding (before we even had a set date) was the single best decision of our wedding journey.
We had an Indian American fusion wedding, and Cheryl embraced both cultures with incredible thoughtfulness. She was well-versed in the Punjabi traditions we wanted to include, while also spending time with the non-Indian side of our families to make sure they felt comfortable and confident with the customs. Our guests kept saying it was the best wedding they’d ever attended and were amazed at the details, the unique extras, and how seamlessly everything flowed. That’s all thanks to Cheryl and the Glitzzy team. Cheryl kept us on track during weekly calls, was always available when we needed guidance, and encouraged us to think outside the box to create a wedding that truly felt like us.
But what makes Cheryl truly extraordinary is everything she does beyond the standard planner checklist. She carefully reviewed and even negotiated contracts on our behalf, offered style and outfit advice that made us feel confident and camera-ready, and suggested fun, on-trend extras that elevated the entire experience. She coordinated extra assistants to support our families, and guided us through catering and bar planning down to portions and liquor math. Cheryl joined every vendor call so we always had an advocate in the room, and she provided steady emotional support that kept us joyful instead of stressed. She even reviewed speeches and skits, cheered us on every step of the way, and came up with creative last-minute solutions when rain threatened our plans.
More than a planner, Cheryl was our cheerleader, problem-solver, and protector of our joy. Cheryl and Rohit have become family, and they truly are incredible at what they do. -

We worked with Glitzzy Events for full planning of our Sangeet, Hindu ceremony, Western ceremony and reception, and we can honestly say that working with Cheryl was one of the best decisions we made throughout the entire process. From day one, she brought an energy that was both calming and confident—exactly what we needed as we navigated such a big moment in our lives.
She was by our side every step of the way, setting up weekly planning calls, coordinating with vendors, and giving us thoughtful advice that always felt tailored to us. We truly cannot say enough about how incredible Cheryl and the Glitzzy Events team were in making our dream wedding a reality. From the very beginning, Cheryl felt more like a trusted advisor and family member than just a planner — someone who cared deeply about the outcome, the experience, and our ability to be present for the most meaningful moments of our lives.
Our wedding was a fusion of Gujarati and Punjabi cultures, and Cheryl handled it with deep cultural understanding and with attention to detail. She ensured both families’ traditions and preferences were honored in ways that felt authentic, inclusive, and full of heart. This is not an easy task — balancing two families, multiple events, and generations of expectations — and yet, Cheryl made it all feel seamless.
Each of our three unique venues — our home for the haldi, Villa at the Vineyard for the sangeet, and Canyonwood Ridge for the wedding and reception — had its own vibe, needs, and logistical challenges. Cheryl offered invaluable input for each space and executed every single event to perfection. The haldi at home felt warm, vibrant, and intimate. The sangeet was amazing ranging from custom decor, amazing music and food. And the wedding and reception were nothing short of magical. Every detail was intentional and stunning.
One of Cheryl’s greatest strengths is her vendor network. Every single vendor she recommended was phenomenal — talented, professional, and kind. We quickly realized that as long as we trusted her suggestions, we were in the best possible hands. From décor to photography to catering to music, each vendor elevated the experience and worked together seamlessly — a direct result of Cheryl’s experience and relationships.
We had guests fly in from India and all over the world, and time and time again we heard the same thing from them: this was the best wedding they have ever attended in the United States. To hear that from guests who have attended countless weddings — many of them elaborate and large — was the ultimate compliment. The entire weekend was unforgettable, and it’s truly all thanks to Cheryl.
What truly sets Cheryl apart is her calm presence and her ability to make everyone feel taken care of. Every time we felt overwhelmed, she was there to handle it. Every little hiccup (and there were a few!) was dealt with before we even had to worry. We were actually able to enjoy our wedding weekend because we trusted Cheryl and her team completely.

We hired Cheryl for our Gujarati wedding in Austin in April 2025, and cannot recommend her highly enough. For about one year leading up to the wedding, we would have nearly weekly meetings with Cheryl, during which she asked us about our vision for each event and connected us with vendors that matched our price range and needs. She kept us on track during each meeting, and then even met us in person in Austin a few times as well as in Houston a few times for food tasting. Her ability to serve as an intermediary between all of the different parties involved in the planning of an Indian wedding — the vendors, parents, couple, venue staff, Priest, among others - is an amazing skill. Her other team members - Juhi and Simran - were also amazing and incredibly helpful. The execution of the events went extremely smoothly, thanks to Cheryl’s presence. Many of our guests were shocked at how on time every event was (especially for an Indian wedding!) and that was entirely due to Cheryl’s meticulous planning and execution the day of! -

There are not enough words to describe how key Cheryl and the entire Glitzzy Team was to making our big day smooth, flawless, and extremely meaningful and personal. I found their wedding planning services online shortly after getting engaged. For us, having a wedding planner was an absolute must given our guest count and wedding that would incorporate a fusion of cultures. It was very quickly apparent after meeting with various event planners and then after meeting Cheryl, that there was something professional and different about Cheryl and her team, and boy was I spot on. She understood my vision and needs almost instinctively.
From Day 1 of planning, Cheryl went above and beyond for us in almost every way. She was organized, efficient, honest, straightforward, had a artsy eye with a similar taste in decor as me and my vision, and had all the connections with immense experience in the San Antonio wedding industry to start planning the perfect day for us. Cheryl and the rest of her team are minted professionals, who were able to anticipate not only my husband and I’s every need along the way, but also our family’s. Cheryl got on the phone countless times with my father to discuss budgeting, costs, various open bar packages with our venues, etc. – these were long conversations that went beyond our planning meetings. She worked closely with my mother-in-law (also separately from our planning meetings) to plan our welcome party the night prior to the big day. She knew exactly how to ensure we chose vendors who would be the right fit for us and frequently vetted vendors we were looking for within our budget, frequently connecting with them over the phone multiple times to get us the right deals and packages, and then to plan and coordinate with them. Every crisis along the way also handled was such poise, professionalism, and urgency by Cheryl and her team. When our hotel block portal online wasn’t working for any guests, Cheryl jumped in. When we were struggling to pick a bar package, Cheryl allowed us to talk it out over and over again in every which way with her to brainstorm together. 3 days before the wedding, when I received an unexpected call from our decorating team requesting things that were new to me, had not been discussed previously, and were not part of our budget (as I was actively on the way to a photoshoot with my husband and had wedding festivity events about to already begin), Cheryl literally told me ‘don’t worry about any of it, go enjoy your photoshoot, I’ll take care of this’ and she absolutely 100% did. I was able to enjoy quality time and special moments with my family that day and that week leading up to the big day, those who had flown from all over just for our wedding weekend, which I otherwise wouldn’t have had. The best part of working with Cheryl and her team is that this won’t just be ‘another event’ for her. She and her team care so deeply about the work they do and have such passion to make quality events happen. Planning our event was obviously a personal journey for us and our families, but it felt from the start that it was also really personal for Cheryl and Rohit as well. Lastly, I didn’t realize it until after the fact, but our vendor list was absolutely stacked with simply the best, most artistic professionals to bring our vision to life. Almost every important vendor came hand picked and recommended by Cheryl – this helped immensely as the vendor hunt is overwhelming to navigate and the day of was so smooth thanks to our carefully picked vendors as recommended by Cheryl.
Finally, the day of felt like a dream for me, my husband, and both our parents. Each puzzle piece, each event, was so smooth, so flawless, I almost literally couldn’t believe it. I would walk into each event after getting hair and makeup done for hours, wondering how things would turn out. And I was just speechless and floored every time and every event when I walked through the doors to see how amazing everything looked and how smoothly things were running. SO MANY GUESTS left the event saying things like: “I’ve never been to a wedding this organized and beautiful before.” “This is literally the BEST wedding I’ve been to.” "Who was your planner??! I need to connect with her for our wedding." And the best, most important part of all of this, was that my husband and I were truly able to enjoy our wedding day and really maximize the time we spent with our loved ones. Without Cheryl and her team, that would not have been possible, and we are eternally grateful for this.
If you are on the fence trying to decide on an event planner, Glitzzy will absolutely NOT disappoint – they are the SINGLE MUST HAVE vendor for your big day and for the planning along the way. Cheryl was our planner for our April 2024, 350 person, Gujarati wedding, and as my father said many times throughout the planning process, “Hiring Cheryl was the best decision we made!” Cheryl has a deep understanding of how a traditional Gujarati wedding should run, so our wedding felt like it went off without a hitch! She has great vendor recommendations and has a good understanding of the Central Texas wedding landscape. We loved everyone she connected us with. She was mindful of our budget and never pushed us to spend more than we were comfortable with. We don’t live in Texas, so she was our boots on the ground and always made herself available to us when we would visit Texas for planning. The best thing about Cheryl and her husband Rohit is that they ultimately felt like family to us. We and our parents felt that Cheryl and Rohit actually cared about us and we weren’t just another “client”. Our moms trusted Cheryl and listened to her, which was huge for us when trying to negotiate location, guest list size, vendors etc with our parents. Cheryl was the best teammate and friend while planning our wedding and we were very thankful to have her! -

My husband and I, along with our families, honestly can’t thank Cheryl enough for everything she did to make our wedding week a success! She took everything we dreamed of straight out of our minds and nailed it better than we could imagine. Her meticulous attention to detail and dedication to ensuring our happiness were evident throughout the entire process. From curating the perfect vendors to handling every last detail, she made sure everything ran smoothly and stress-free.
Cheryl, Rohit, Simran and their team went above and beyond to keep us relaxed throughout the events. Cheryl even stepped in to help with last-minute outfit adjustments and ensuring we had a plate of food and drink in hand to enjoy during each of the festivities.
Their whole team was accommodating as well with our catering staff, who had never done an event of this caliber, walking them through the expectations and planning down to the minute. The organization of the food was a huge hit and people were shocked to hear it was their first time because of how smoothly Cheryl and Rohit handled the program.
Cheryl was super quick to respond to last minute changes and freak outs, as brides often have, with such care. The morning of my mehndi she was able to attend to a freak out of mine and get in touch with vendors for confirmations early in the morning without hesitation.
Throughout our regularly scheduled meetings, she also had some amazing ideas in all areas, from decor down to the snacks and drinks we chose, which enhanced our jungle-themed Sangeet and Italian-themed Haldi. Thanks to her quick thinking, she added a backdrop to our Haldi set up the month of the wedding that totally sold the vibe and made for some incredible photos.
Our wedding guests were equally impressed by her professionalism and organization. Every vendor Cheryl recommended was exceptional, and we're so grateful for her guidance in finding the perfect team to celebrate with us. She was so good that we are now the consultants for our friends’ upcoming weddings using tips she gave us. We're eternally grateful for Cheryl and her team's hard work and dedication!! -

No review would ever fully describe how amazing Cheryl and the Glitzzy Events team were to work with. Cheryl came to be a close friend, confidant and partner throughout the several months of wedding planning. Her expertise and experience was evident from the moment we met her and it gave us a sense of calm that she carried throughout the entire process. We knew we’d be in good hands almost immediately.
Cheryl’s reputation certainly precedes her. We were met with immediate positive reactions when we mentioned that we would likely be working with Glitzzy Events to potential wedding venues during our initial search. Many of the venues and vendors in the area know her well and it immediately put them at ease when we mentioned this.

Cheryl was extremely adept at understanding the vision we wanted for our wedding and knew exactly how to navigate the different, often challenging, dynamics from our parents, the wedding venues and other vendors. A critical quality you must find in a wedding planner is one that will advocate for what you want for your wedding while figuring out how to make everyone happy with the outcome. Another critical quality is that they must be accessible. Cheryl was extremely responsive throughout our entire engagement, even when both of us were traveling abroad. She set up weekly meetings (that we now miss so much) to stay on top of everything and always came prepared and gently encouraged us to make decisions.
Our first meeting with Cheryl occurred when she was traveling in Mumbai. She was kind to prioritize and make herself available across timezones to meet with us. When we mentioned our wedding dream of having a 4-day event with different locations for each day, she was probably the only person that said “Let’s do it!”. That’s when we knew we needed Cheryl to plan our wedding. She understood what it would take and we left the conversation ready to move forward.
During the wedding week, the execution by the Glitzzy Team was absolutely seamless. Cheryl, Rohit, Melissa and Simran were ready to take on each day and ensure there were no issues. We did not have to worry about anything other than showing up and enjoying our wedding. Cheryl and team took care of everything, and we know there was so much work behind the scenes that they managed. From coordinating shuttles for our guests, to ensuring venues were set up correctly, to addressing last minute requests from family, the team was extremely professional and made things happen.

Glitzzy events LLC, is definitely not an unknown name when it comes to planning a wedding, a party of any kind or an event in central Texas. I must say this, and I feel immense happiness in saying this, that Glitzzy team exceeds their reputation and everyone’s expectation in planning, execution, and making any event go as smooth as freshly whipped cream. Cheryl, Rohit and Melissa paid diligent attention to every detail and went above and beyond to make our wedding beautiful and memorable. It is certainly possible to find many great event planners, but seldom we find people who, In addition to doing it passionately, bestow their warm and calming vibe to everything. Glitzzy team behaved with us just a like a family, while meticulously carrying out their professional duties throughout the event. In a particular incident, during the wedding events some of our stuff was forgotten in an Uber ride. I tried to contact the driver and Uber countless number of times over the next 2 days without any success. Cheryl went above and beyond to pull her contacts and resources, and miraculously located the driver and got our stuff back. That was a huge and pleasant surprise for us to receive our valuable items back. I would recommend Glitzzy events LLC to anyone and everyone, even in my sleep, without sparing a single strain of thought. -

Simply the best!
I just recently got married in Austin, TX and I loved my experience working with Glitzzy events! I first started working with Cheryl a little under a year prior to the big day and she was gracious enough to take me on as a client despite her busy schedule. I am so thankful that she did because this wedding could not have been as amazing as it was without her and the entire team!
Cheryl was excellent at keeping us on track throughout the entire planning process. She is extremely detail oriented and was constantly suggesting things that really made a huge difference in our event. Because of her many years of experience in the wedding industry, she has developed a great list of vendors that she has excellent relationships with. It was very clear that vendors would go out of there way to communicate with us and accommodate our requests just because of this long standing relationship. Regardless, she was also great at working with some new vendors that we ended up going with!
As far as day-of event coordination goes, I cannot imagine our wedding without the Glitzzy team. We had initially planned an outdoor sangeet and wedding ceremony, but had to move everything inside due to poor weather. Cheryl, Melissa, Rohit, and the team coordinated everything with our venue, were on site immediately to confirm indoor locations, and worked seamlessly with our decorator and other vendors to make the appropriate changes. Most of my guests did not even realize that the events were originally planned for the outdoors!
We loved working with Glitzzy events for my wedding! After a year of planning, it really felt like I was just meeting with family every week to put my wedding together. Cheryl, Melissa, and Rohit really put their hearts and souls into making your wedding special for you and your family! I cannot recommend this amazing team of people enough! -

Cheryl and the entire Glitzzy Events team were a joy to work with! Cheryl’s attention to detail, her vast experience in the wedding industry, and her people skills made the experience as low stress as it could’ve been for us, but a wild success. My husband and I had incredibly unpredictable work and school schedules and Cheryl was available to meet regularly at hours that worked for us (and was flexible if meetings needed to be rescheduled). Cheryl shined on the day of the wedding with all of the vendors working together in sync, all steps of the ceremony and reception happening on time and with all people in the know, and all questions and concerns from guests handled in real time by Cheryl and her team. Our wedding was the best day of our lives to date and Cheryl’s planning and execution were vital to that being the case. I could not have imagined a better wedding planner for us than Cheryl from Glitzzy Events. She is absolutely the BEST. Through the whole process, she was so patient, flexible, and dedicated so much of her time and effort in setting up a timeline and meeting with us regularly. I needed someone who could help me make all decisions, big and small and Cheryl was the perfect guide due to how confident yet calm she is. Cheryl is good at establishing relationships because of how personable she is and you can feel how much she cares for the outcomes of the events, as well as the experiences of the guests, couple, vendors, and staff. Even though it definitely was not expected of her due to how busy she must have been, she added personal touches to many things such as little decor, having signs ready and set up at events, ensuring we were fed, and other numerous things that could have easily been missed by us during the actual weekend. We enjoyed meeting her husband Rohit and the rest of the team, who were all so pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend Cheryl! -

Dream Team!
Cheryl and Rohit with Glitzzy Events are the planners of your dreams. They have different package options that can work with different budgets and needs, their response time is very quick, they take the time to understand your wants, desires, needs, they are never pushy, have excellent vendor recommendations (for people like us who had no idea where to start, that was amazing!), and most importantly, they make it so that you have no stress the day of your wedding! I was very worried looking for a planner as a Queer Indian/White couple who would understand us as a couple and be able to help us make our dreams come true. We couldn't have asked for a a more compassionate, knowledgeable, and kind team! -

I first met Cheryl when the bride’s mom, an Austin resident, booked her for our children’s wedding. With all of us scattered across the country, Cheryl kept us on track to ensure that every aspect of the wedding weekend would go off without a hitch. She was in contact with all the vendors to make sure that they would be there on time. She and her husband, Rohit, and their staff were at the venue hours before us and made sure that everything was set up as we had planned, and during the events, she made sure that the timeline was being adhered to. Cheryl was an instrumental component to the success of my son’s wedding in Austin in Oct. 2022. My husband still refers to that weekend, and its perfection, as the “best weekend of my life”. -

If you want a perfect wedding, Cheryl is your person!
When my parents told me and my California fiance that we had to have a wedding in Austin, TX (where they live), we knew right away that Cheryl would be the one to help us. It was the first wedding in my family, so we had no idea what we were doing. And on top of that, I wanted to do everything different from the traditional Pakistani weddings in the US. That means absolutely no hotel ballroom for any event! I wanted a beautiful garden/outdoorsy wedding with the best Desi food caterer in all of Texas. But what I didn't realize was how much extra work that entails, especially after COVID when the whole world was getting married at the same time. We needed a separate vendor for every single little thing possible - plates, fans, coolers, buffet tables, chairs, tents, etc etc. It was insane how many vendors were required to produce two 270 person events. Cheryl took care of EVERYTHING. She and her team handled every single vendor, and they knew exactly who to call and who to trust. Imagine dealing with all of these vendors during a time when every single one of them was understaffed, overbooked, and facing supply chain issues. Cheryl made sure every single vendor was on the same page. Thanks to her and her team, every single vendor delivered on each promise, and I know that was no easy task that just anyone could do, especially during these conditions. Here's an example - just the weekend before my wedding, two guests had fainted at the same outdoors venue I had booked. I was so worried the same would happen to my guests. Cheryl booked us evaporative coolers within just a couple of days before the wedding. I was really at ease knowing that no matter what conditions God threw at us that day, Cheryl would take care of us.
The only disappointment I had during my wedding was with how tardy my guests were, which obviously was nothing her team could control!
I consider Cheryl to be an angel of mine. Her experience in this space is unparalleled and you cannot go wrong with her. She will make sure every single wedding dream of yours is met! -

We are so so glad we went with Cheryl & Rohit from Glitzzy events for our fusion Lutheran/South Indian wedding. Our wedding weekend was absolutely PERFECT thanks to them. Everyone knows wedding planning is super stressful, but they made it so easy and fun! They intentionally took the time to understand us as a couple and our families, so they could anticipate our needs before jumping into planning.
They were calm and collected when interacting with us, even though there was a lot going on behind the scenes of each event. They were extraordinarily detail oriented, and helped us keep track of everything. They have already built a vast network of vendors specifying in South Asian fusion weddings, which was so important since I'm a first generation Indian in the U.S. and don't have immediate family around to help. They were so prompt in communicating with us, especially when it got closer to the date of the wedding, and followed up with every single vendor to coordinate and make sure our day went off perfectly.
During COVID, costs started to sky rocket throughout the wedding industry, and Cheryl and Rohit were transparent with us about this from the beginning. As soon as they found out that costs were increasing, they let us know and helped us revise the budget. When we realized we couldn’t go over budget in certain areas to accommodate areas where we would have to go over budget (like food), they spent time trying to find creative solutions to help us stay within our budget while ensuring that our weekend was beautiful.
Cheryl designed and executed the decor for our Sangeet, and it’s an understatement to say that it was a smash hit! Our guests have been RAVING about her Sangeet decorations for months after the event. During our Sangeet and on our wedding day, Cheryl & Rohit made sure we were fed, happy and stress free, and that everything went smoothly on a set timeline. They are incredible event planners, and have organized and decorated other events for us like my mother’s 55th birthday and our house warming (graha pravesam) ceremony.
We 100% recommend them to anyone that we know, they are the BEST wedding investment that we made! Truly, our wedding would never have happened without them. They are so fun to work with, and are wonderful humans. In these big events, they have been like our family away from home. Love them both!

The 5 star reviews don't do Cheryl justice. Our wedding was planned for May of 2020. Due to Covid, we scheduled it to May of 2021. Since the numbers werent going down we ended up going with Dec 2021. All three of those times, Cheryl was there to help. She was the one who coordinated all the reschedules with grace. It is so hard to contact a million vendors to reschedule, thank god Cheryl was there to to that for us.
She is extremely organized. She know how to run a wedding! We met every other week for 6 months and once a week for a month leading up to the wedding. If there was any conflicts, she was flexible to move it to accommodate our schedule. We would throw her random things that we wanted in our wedding and she always found a way to make it happen.
The actual wedding was perfection. There was no glitch and I did not stress at all. Cheryl instructed all vendors to their correct place and assisted with tear down at the wedding. All me and my family had to do was have a good time.
We are so lucky to have had Cheryl there to share this special event with us. She has done my cousins wedding as well so she is now a fixture in our family. I want to now create more events so that Cheryl can plan them! -

When we started planning our daughter’s wedding in October 2019, the first person that came to my mind was Cheryl Fernandes! We had known Cheryl and Rohit for a while, as we were neighbors and we had also attended some amazing events, including a wedding planned by Glitzzy Events. Cheryl and Rohit always have a very calm, pleasant and cheerful demeanor. I called Cheryl, with my fingers crossed, and asked her to be our wedding planner. She is one of the most sought after Indian wedding planners in Austin area and I was hoping her schedule matched ours when it came to finalizing the wedding date. She checked her calendar and informed that she would be able to help us in planning our daughter’s wedding, which was scheduled for November 2020. Our daughter’s wedding was unique as it was going to be a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony and the food for all events had to be completely Vegan. Cheryl was happy and excited to help us with these requirements.
The wedding planning was going well as per Cheryl’s guidance and then the pandemic started! It put a screeching halt on the wedding preparations. Everything became so uncertain, so unpredictable. Cheryl continued to support us in all our discussions. She cheered us up when we were all feeling very stressed. Finally, we (bride, groom and parents) took a collective decision to postpone the wedding till November 2021. As soon as we reached the decision, Cheryl immediately told us that she was going to drop off the call as she wanted to start contacting all our vendors to get them rescheduled and draw new contracts with them for the new wedding date! She sprang into action and within the next few days worked things out with our wedding venue and got us all the same vendors for the new rescheduled wedding date. Cheryl suggested us some of the best vendors, including photographer, videographer, hair & makeup, mandap, henna artist, saree draping expert, DJ and caterers!!
There were several challenges due to the limitations caused by the pandemic. Cheryl gracefully and gently navigated us through all the hurdles. Whether it was shopping for all Indian wedding outfits in the US, or online shopping for welcome bags, wedding favors, decorations, jasmine strings, flowers, Cheryl was our guiding light! Our unique requirement of having vegan food at all the wedding events was wonderfully handled by her. She suggested some of the best caterers who made fabulous Maharashtrian, Bombay Chaat, TexMex, Italian food, desserts and gorgeous wedding cakes (bride and groom’s cakes)…..all completely VEGAN!! The multiple food tastings were totally worth it!
The regular scheduled zoom calls with Cheryl helped us all. She kept us on track and things were done in a timely manner. Cheryl was always available for us no matter how small or how big our question was for her. If she did not have an answer for us at that time, she would always do her research and get back to us. Cheryl is absolutely passionate about her work and takes the load off of the parents shoulders. We experienced this throughout the process of two years (in our case due to rescheduling). In the last couple weeks before the wedding, she helped us deal with the last minute challenges caused by the local weather, delayed shipments, last minute surprises, etc. We were completely at ease because we had Cheryl on our team! Her attention to detail is outstanding!
I cannot say enough of the value Glitzzy Events brought to our daughter’s fairytale wedding! It was absolutely a dream wedding that our daughter always wanted, full of beauty, grace and warmth. It was a heartwarming experience to see her dream turn into reality. Cheryl and Rohit are absolute gems, incredible individuals. They personally took care of us (bride, groom and parents) throughout the entire wedding weekend, just like a sister or brother would do. More than wedding planners, they became part of our family. I would highly recommend Glitzzy Events in a heartbeat!! -

Where do I even start. We booked Cheryl as our full service wedding planner back in August of 2019 and we finally had our dream wedding November of 2021. Cheryl was honestly the best wedding planner we could have ever imagined. She knows the Austin market so well and honestly makes wedding planning such a breeze. Due to Covid and some personal issues we had a few things for our wedding that either fell through or didn't go as plan but Cheryl went above and beyond to make sure we got everything we wanted. When we had to reschedule for Covid our original wedding venue was not available anymore and Cheryl was able to find us a new venue that we ended up LOVING.
If you are getting married in the Austin area we highly highly recommend hiring Cheryl! I promise you it will be the best thing decision you make during your entire wedding planning process. We miss our weekly chats with Cheryl and wish we could do it all over again!! -

Cheryl and her team expertly managed our wedding over a two+ year process including multiple COVID postponements which required significant coordination between guests, vendors, venue, and of course our family. The day of the wedding could not have possibly been more smooth and well executed. Best Experience, Can’t Recommend Highly Enough
When we originally planned to use Glitzzy Events for our wedding planning, our wedding was scheduled for November of 2020. The pandemic had yet to hit, and all seemed smooth. Well, of course, fast forward about six months, and we are working on a reschedule with multiple vendors with no safe date in sight.
Throughout all of this, Cheryl was patient, motivated, and, above all else, empathetic. She handled the entire situation with a grace that I couldn’t have even imagined. When you pick a planner for your event, I’m sure you are looking for someone who doesn’t panic at the sight of a problem, and instead, is always looking for solutions. Well, I can tell you that the planning of this wedding these last couple of years threw every problem her way, and she was constantly calm and working out contingencies. I truly never saw her fazed, and there is no one better, calmer, better at their job, or kinder that you would want planning your event.
Another thing Cheryl excels at is relationships and managing opinions. Every single wedding is bound to have many opinions tossed about, and that can be quite difficult to sort through! In some ways, it is the trickiest part of putting on an event like this - trying to make sure everyone involved is happy with the end result. Well, Cheryl is a master at taking everyone’s opinions into account and coming up with something that works for everyone. She did this several times during our wedding planning process, and she was a complete lifesaver that way. In the end, the event she planned had something for everyone involved, even including little surprises that showed just how carefully she had been listening and really understanding.
That is Cheryl’s true strength - taking the visions and ideas of two partners and their families and really taking the time, energy, and what I can only guess is a natural gift to bring those dreams to reality. When I saw the end result, I was nearly brought to tears not just because it was beautiful and meaningful, but because it was exactly what I had imagined and more, and because it was a result of so much creativity and love from someone who is so good at what they do.
If you are feeling overwhelmed with planning your event and you have no idea where to start, if you are sorting through planners and can’t make up your mind, if you are struggling in any way with your event, please read this review and know that Glitzzy Events saved the day for my family and myself during a really difficult time with the pandemic, and they can do the same for you! There is no better decision we could have made!
For some specific information, Cheryl planned a fusion wedding for us with Sangeet, Chinese ceremony, Indian ceremony (a task which included conducting a baraat on 6th street, I’m sure no easy feat, though she made it look easy), and a western style reception, so truly there is nothing she cannot do!
Cheryl, her husband, and her team will always have a place in our heart, having worked on both my sister and my wedding, and we only hope to have more events in the future just to work with her again!

Cheryl, Rohit and the rest of the glitzzy event team were such a blessing to Ravi and I as we started planning our big fat indian wedding. From the beginning Cheryl was so attentive, easy to talk to and sooo organized! She scheduled out meetings once a month and than weekly as we came close to our wedding date. This made it so stress free and easy as me and Ravi both worked full time jobs. I can honestly say i felt very little stress throughout this whole process despite planning a wedding in a middle of a pandemic. On the days of the events, Cheryl and her team worked through early mornings and late nights to make sure our families and us didn’t have to worry about anything. And we didnt! We genuinely believe we have had the wedding of our dreams and could not have happened without this team.
We cant thank her enough. We continue to day dream about this special day and would do it all over again if we could. We will always be so thankful for Cheryl and the Glitzzy event team! -

I can’t say enough about Cheryl and Rohit. I remember the first time I spoke with Cheryl on the phone and we had an instant connection!!! I knew immediately she would be the one to help me plan the most important day of my life. I remember telling her my vision and she knew immediately which venue, photographer and videographer I would like. Of course I did my homework and looked into every other option to make sure I was making the right decision. Ultimately, Cheryl was right! I chose all of her vendors and venue selection and I couldn’t be happier! She has a way of knowing what you are looking for and makes sure to only pick the best options. I was also amazed at how she made sure to incorporate my parents and in-laws requests. She always put my husband and I first but made sure our parents were happy with the final decision. Cheryl is literally every bride and groom’s dream come true. We got married on February 29th, 2020, with just 7 months of planning prior, and its unimaginable to think about how we could've made our dream wedding a reality without Cheryl by our sides. Planning a wedding for 500 people is no easy feat, let alone a wedding that spans over the course of 3 days. Cheryl worked with us from the very beginning- reaching out to each and every vendor we came up with. Truly, this woman has more patience than anyone we’ve ever met- which is no exaggeration. Most wedding planners we’ve seen our family or friends hire get frustrated when you come close to a decision and then renege- asking to reach out to just a few more vendors, but not Cheryl. She will do everything in her power to make sure that you do not feel pressured and are happy and comfortable with the decisions you make and contracts you sign, even if that means a lot of extra work on her part. There were several times we felt bad, to which she would ease our worries saying, “Don’t even worry- it’s all a part of the process!”
We joked with her so many times during the planning- asking her if she ever takes a break. Well, spoiler alert to anyone wondering- she doesn’t. We don’t understand how she can have the same number of hours in her day as the rest of us, but she makes it all look easy. To those of you that are very detail-oriented and particular, she is just the right fit for you. She would make Marie Kondo proud with how organized she is in her wedding planning; no detail goes unnoticed. She was there at almost every single vendor meeting, tasting, etc- never missing a beat. A couple of our vendors even praised how hands-on and present she was, saying they had never seen a planner that was this dedicated before.
Without a doubt she was a lifesaver every single day leading up to the wedding, but the week of our events- she was basically a wedding wizard. Every time we looked around or needed her, she was there! We could swear she can apparate, because we don’t know how she is always everywhere at once. We had so many moving pieces during our wedding and it was quite a production, but Cheryl handled it all seamlessly and with a smile on her face- like the classy professional that she is.
We had some deep conversations with Cheryl along the way, which just made us love her more and more. A lot of people that are in the wedding industry can fall into a mentality of “well- this is just another wedding, just another weekend to me.” Not Cheryl. What happens when someone finally gets the chance to have their dream job? You get someone like Cheryl. Wedding planning isn’t work to her, it’s a labor of love. She pours her heart and soul into every single wedding she plans. It is so easy to see how much she enjoys what she does and how happy it makes her to bring each and every couple’s dream wedding to life.
Any time we were feeling uneasy about anything in the process, she was always there in our court- making sure that our needs were met by our vendors. During the contract process she asked for so many different concessions on our behalf from our venues and vendors that we didn’t even think about. These concessions truly elevated our wedding- making it incredibly memorable for us, and all of our guests. She saved us thousands of dollars with her savvy negotiating skills and experience- well over what we paid to have her on our team. If you’re wondering if a planner is worth the money- the right one can be the best decision you make. So many of our guests commented that our wedding was the most well-organized wedding they had ever been to. This is all thanks to Cheryl.
With that said, this review would not be complete without mentioning Cheryl’s husband, Rohit. One of the biggest reasons that Cheryl is able to throw herself so passionately into her weddings is because she has the best support system in Rohit. Rohit was there by Cheryl’s side during our entire wedding- complementing her skills with his own, no task too big or too small. One sweet gesture that has remained in our minds is the memory of how Rohit put together a bag full of packed food for us at the end of every single one of our events, giving us a chance to try any items we might have missed in the flurry. You hear so many couples say that they never got to try the food they spent so much time picking out for their wedding, but Cheryl and Rohit would never let that happen. They are thoughtful and caring, always making sure their couples are taken care of. We will forever be grateful to both of them for everything they did for us in the months leading up to our wedding.
We would 100% recommend anyone to hire Cheryl, and not think twice. She is a wonderful person- very ethical, straightforward, and transparent. We once very naively asked her why she doesn’t plan outside of Austin. Looking back- the answer is clear. Cheryl is not the type of person that would be willing to compromise on her quality and presence. She wants to be there for you every step of the way. She knows the Austin venues like the back of her hand and has built incredible relationships with all of the vendors she has worked with- a perk that her couples get to have to their advantage. Austin is so lucky to have her.

Cheryl is not only the best wedding planner but also one of the most amazing human beings we have ever met. Cheryl was the wedding planner for our daughter’s marriage in February 2019, any amount of appreciation towards her hard work and meticulous planning will not be enough to appreciate her work. From the day my wife and I met her to the day of the marriage took place, Cheryl took complete control of all wedding activities. All that my wife and I had to do was to tell her of what we needed, and it was done. There were so many last-minute change requests, some of which were a little tough to pull it off but she still made it happen. We consider ourselves a good negotiator, but Cheryl was two steps ahead of us. She saved us thousands of dollars, which we had not anticipated. We were treated very professionally and felt very comfortable leaving some important decisions to her.
Our daughter’s wedding was a dream come true affair, each and every function did exceed our expectations. We are truly short of words in expressing our feelings for Cheryl, she is an excellent, comprehensive, meticulous, detail-oriented, frugal, highly organized and reliable professional.

Cheryl has been a god sent angel for my family and I. My husband and I took on medical residency and wedding planner on at the same time. Little did we know, residency was going to take over our lives. Cheryl stepped in and made it all seem so effortless. She guided us every step of the way as a dear friend and well wisher. She advocated for the wedding and made us pay attention to issues we did not even realize were things we had to pay attention to. One particular example that comes to mind is when I fell in love with Fairmont, Austin after spending
2 days looking at venues. I did not say much in the moment but I believe Cheryl knew it was my dream to get married there and she made it happen - the first indian wedding at the Fairmont! I will never know how to thank you enough for bringing it to reality.

Cheryl and her team did an amazing job helping us through the wedding process. It was the first wedding in both our families, so we were overwhelmed on where to start. But as soon as we found Cheryl, we got to work right away, starting by finding a better venue for the reception than I had originally found on my own. My husband and I were living in a different state which made planning a wedding in Austin tricky, but Cheryl kept us on track with weekly phone calls and to do lists. She is extremely organized, creative and knows how to work with all the vendors. She knows how to negotiate with the vendors to make sure you will get the most for your money.
Getting closer to the wedding, Cheryl made sure to go through everything with me but also with our families. Whenever I was in town, she worked with our schedules to make sure we were getting everything done. The day of the wedding, she was there with her husband Rohit and her assistant who were all such a huge help. I even had an emergency the day of with my videographer and she was able to find additional help the morning of my wedding to make sure everything went smoothly. My wedding was about 500-550 guests and there is no way I could have managed everything on my own. Cheryl will go above and beyond for you and will make the wedding day experience a lot less stressful. My wedding turned out beautiful and all our guests has a wonderful time and I owe a lot of the planning and work to Cheryl and her team. -

She worked hard with us and especially with my daughter and son-in-law to make sure the wedding went the way we wanted it. On the days of the event, Cheryl and Rohit were on top of everything and ensured that the event went off smoothly. As a mother of the bride I cannot say enough positive things about Cheryl, her Husband Rohit and their crew. Their professionalism, friendliness and advise on timeline and all event schedules were second to none. From the day she was hired in October, Cheryl was always available to respond to emails, endless text messages and numerous phone calls. During the wedding they made sure that everything ran like clockwork, they made sure there were plenty of appetizers, cocktails and drinks for everyone, and even the hosts and their family members were always looked after. Most of all, they made sure that Venue was back to normal afterwards, everything was tidied up and put away. After the wedding we received so many compliments about Cheryl's execution of event and how seamless the entire event was. Cheryl and her husband Rohit made this wedding memorable not only for the brides but for all the guests as well. Honestly It would not have been possible if we had not hired Cheryl. From selecting vendors to negotiating with them to getting them to perform, she handled each and every task meticulously. She has a vendor for everything you can think of. She balances the dimensions of vision, practicality, and budgets effectively. She pushes back where she must. On the day of the wedding, she had a minute by minute plan for the day across multiple venues. When we were stressed, she famously said none of us needed to be, because we can transfer our stresses to her. We had a destination wedding in Austin, TX and came to the city knowing absolutely nothing about what it had to offer, except that the views were gorgeous. Cheryl has connections with great vendors in the past and gave us good recommendations on who we should consider working with for each event given the details of what we were expecting (different types of food, decorations, etc.). This also meant she was able to get us good deals with these vendors as well as negotiate prices. She was very organized and set up Google docs for me to review and update often to make sure we were on schedule and had a good understanding of what to expect on the days of the events. She was always available and ready to help. We were e-mailing and texting Cheryl several times weekly and she was always willing to help us out. When we got closer to the wedding, she also set up phone meetings every 2 days to make sure everything was on track for last minute details. My parents and I were especially amazed at how much we were able to get done during our 2 day trips to Austin. We simply let Cheryl know when we wanted to come down and she arranged all meetings with the vendors and kept everything on time. We always left with a sense of accomplishment without feeling overwhelmed. We had several friends and family members tell us how organized and on schedule everything was during the wedding weekend. She even made sure all bills were finalized after the events and offered to pick up things that were left at venues for us. Overall, Cheryl was a lifesaver and helped us flawlessly plan a destination wedding in 6 months. I HIGHLY recommend her and her team.
