Even better than I imagined!

Summer and the Firefly team really made our wedding the best day! I made unique/specific requests throughout the process, and Summer always rolled with my vision, providing opinions and navigating challenges with professionalism. The day of was truly perfect, I didn't lift a finger and the table settings, ceremony music, multiple locations/shuttles, and food all went off without a hitch. I HIGHLY recommend this team. She also counseled me through the potential for rain during an outdoor spring wedding, and while we were lucky not to have it, we were fully prepared for the possibility.

Hurricane Helene Wedding-Summer and Firefly saved the day!

I cannot stress enough how fantastic Summer is as a wedding planner AND as a person. We were a Hurricane Helene couple who had to postpone our Asheville wedding from the Fall of 2024 to Spring 2025. We are from out of state, so navigating the storm (literally and figuratively!) presented a challenge.

Firefly was the second vendor we hired, and we found them online. Summer and team helped to connect us with other vendors and to make recommendations, and listened to our preferences every step of the way.

Summer and team are calm under pressure, they navigate multiple personalities/opinions/wants with ease, and they never EVER seemed flustered even after a HURRICANE. Summer even fixed a wedding dress emergency for me--the morning of our wedding. She does it all!

We are just so grateful to have the entire weekend so perfectly executed by Summer and her team. I wholeheartedly recommend their services to any Asheville wedding couples!

Perfect planning with Firefly!

What an amazing experience working with Summer. She has a calming, and thorough professionalism about her. During the planning phases, she was organized and responded quickly to messages. It feels like she’s by your side through it all. Whatever your vision is, she will bring it into existence. And if you’re unsure about some details, she will provide options and talk it through with you. As for the day of, she made it seemless, as if it all came together magically, but it was Summer’s skill that made it happen. She goes above and beyond, and if I could repeat my wedding every weekend like I want to, it would be with Summer as my planner!

Absolutely Wonderful

Kate Edwards-Baumbach was stellar in everything that was presented to her. Attention to detail... was remarkable.. her communication was even better. She made my bride and I so much more comfortable with the entire event. Her charm was splendid.

Through every moment she was there, even with as much spontaneity as we encountered throughout the entire event and everything leading up to it. She just made everything as smooth as could be expected.

I highly recommend Firefly and more importantly Kate.. for their unmatched services.

Impeccable perfection!

Summer was THE ABSOLUTE BEST!! I knew I had nothing to worry about with her as my day of coordinator. Having her come on 60 days out wasn’t what I thought I needed, but ended up being the very thing I needed. She was worth every penny! Her attention to detail and thorough/thoughtful communication were a large part of her paramount professionalism. I am someone who great with event planning but has never planned a wedding, and she was definitely needed for the small but very important details.

I had a strong wedding vision I worked diligently on, and she helped execute every detail to absolute perfection. We were staying on site at our venue. When I left the morning of the wedding to get ready at a friends, things were ready to be put in place but there was A LOT to do. When I pulled up to the venue for our first look, my breathe was completely taken away. It was beautiful!!

Her demeanor is so calm and she magically was right there when I needed her without even looking for her. She isn’t pushy but is so thorough which is what you want and need for your perfect day. Initially I thought her cost was a little high but when it was finished, I felt like she was well underpaid. If you hire her I promise you it will be money very well spent.

So much love for these ladies

I don't even know where to begin! I'll start from the beginning - choosing a package was SO easy and Summer actually went above and beyond our initial package as I was not from the area OR living in Asheville so she provided me with a lot of guidance on other vendors for everything else we needed! She also helped me put together a true team, not just a bunch of individual vendors, and I loved that everyone had worked together many times in the past! She checked in frequently by email and was so quick to respond in some of my more "panicked" moments. She also made time for extra phone calls as needed! She kept me calm and answered many of our questions about ceremony flow/layout/etc since we were not doing a traditional church wedding so did not have much guidance for the ceremony without her! She also kept track of ALL of our personal items and vendors on the day of and kept all of her check ins with me pertinent and brief and didn't stress me out at all even with changes on the day of! I totally trusted her to set up our space and make any final calls that I couldn't be present to have input on. Our wedding day turned out VERY rainy which was a little bit of a let down but she made it work SO well and made me feel very comfortable, if not excited, about the rain plan. I ended up loving our ceremony layout EVEN MORE in the rain space! She kept the whole day running on schedule without making me feel rushed and even coordinated an "escape" via golf cart for us at the end of the night since we weren't doing a fancy exit. We can't thank Summer and the rest of the Firefly team enough for all of their hard work, attention to detail, and flexibility with our plans/ideas! We enjoyed our wedding day SO much because of them!

Summer Wember and Firefly Event Company absolutely was essential to my big day! I got a day of package and couldn’t have been more pleased! AMAZING!
Summer jumped through hoops, took on a small event on short notice and pulled off an amazing 50th wedding anniversary event for my parents on behalf of myself and my siblings. We were looking for something memorable for two people who have given so much and material things carry little value. What was worth every penny was hiring Firefly to plan and coordinate an intimate family event. Summer found a breathtaking and perfect location, accomplished finding food that everyone liked (including 3 vegetarians and 7 kids) and found musicians and a florist that simply made the entire day magical. Could not sing enough praises. It was a total leap of faith since none of us are locals and did not have the ability to scout anything out in advance. As my siblings said the minute we arrived to the event...WELL DONE! Thank you Summer!

Hillary was top notch! We had personally organized most of the elements of our big celebration (putting the vision together, contracting with vendors, etc.), but the best investment we made in our big day was to get Hillary on board for day-of coordination. In the last two months prior to our celebration, Hillary took the reins and pulled all the final details together to make sure our decisions were sound (e.g., transportation needs, venue layout), to confirm final plans with each vendor, and to finalize the all-important day-of schedule. She was a pleasure to work with, incredibly responsive and organized, and respectful of the financial considerations of the event. And we went into our celebration with the confidence that everything would play out as we desired. Ultimately, we were able to enjoy our celebration to the fullest thanks to Hillary's and her teammate Summer's efforts -- and what a special day it was!

If you are planning a wedding or other event in Asheville, you MUST consider Firefly Events! We worked with Summer in planning our daughter's out of town wedding in Asheville. With parents in Illinois and Florida, and wedding couple in California, none of us super-familiar with AVL, we were foreseeing many challenges. Summer helped calm our nervousness and assisted with lots of details, from the simple things (favorite local salons) to some major decisions (which venue will suit our needs and help us stay on budget). We met with her in Asheville only on 2 occasions before the wedding week, but she phone conferenced with us often as the big day approached. We enjoyed the planning process much more because of Summer (who, by the way, is a wonderfully organized 'list person', just like me)!
At the rehearsal, Summer was able to quickly and professionally organize our large and social wedding party. The whole group left knowing the whole plan and expecting a beautiful ceremony.
Best of all, wedding day went SO smoothly! Summer and her associates handled the setup details at multiple locations, leaving the bride, groom and families to just ENJOY every part of the day. When we arrived at the ceremony site, Olivette, we were stunned with its beauty. Later, when we arrived at The Venue, we were again thrilled with the overall look, created from the many details we had communicated about over the previous months. The timing for the evening worked beautifully, and Summer and team took care of the background details while we celebrated. It was the most awesome day ever!

Firefly event company served as day of coordinators, but ending up doing SO much more. They helped us starting two months out and finalized all the details. It allowed us to be free of stress and enjoy the final days leading up to our wedding. The service on the actual wedding day was amazing. I'll never forget when they came and got me to walk down the aisle, they were so calming as i started to lose it! They were professional, nice, organized, and on top of everything. I would 100% recommend them to anyone and use them again.

Having been from out of town and not knowing much about the Asheville scene, we met with a few different planners and were instantly impressed with Summer at Firefly. She radiated warmth, personality, confidence and put our minds at ease right off the bat. We walked away feeling really great about our decision to hire Summer. And over the last 12 months until through our actual wedding day, there was nothing that was left unturned working with her. Summer's level of responsiveness and insight, carried us happily through to the finish line. I can't tell you how many texts she answered at all hours, emails and calls etc., she was right there to help, provide recommendations and give us a sense of calm (she is extremely calming...as wedding planning can get stressful!!)
Cut to almost 12 months later....we had the wedding of our dreams on June 17 and a huge reason for that was Summer. Her and her partner, Jocelyn, made sure everything was just perfect that day/night and beyond. From working with all our vendors including the venue staff, making sure all the checklists were complete, ensuring we stuck to timelines (but also building in flexibility knowing things done always go according to schedule) etc., we couldn't have done it without Firefly. Summer is a true gem and a master at what she does....our experience was pure magic and we will never forget it.

Our daughter wanted her dream wedding to be at the Cataloochee Ranch in Maggie Valley, NC. Living in Florida, we were not familiar with any of the areas wedding vendors. Hiring Firefly and our wedding planner, Summer was the single best decision we made throughout the entire process. Starting the day we signed the contract she became the "glue" assuring that everything and everyone came together and kept on track. We used all of her suggested vendors and each one met or exceeded our expectations. The wedding was beautiful and everything we hoped for. It will be imprinted in our hearts forever! Our wedding was more perfect and beautiful than we could have ever imagined! Summer did a fantastic job envisioning and executating every detail and we could not be more pleased with the outcome. She was dependable, organized, and very responsive from the start until the day of the wedding. The venue never held a wedding as large as our guest list, so Summer had to completely create the layouts, an extensive rental order, and completely plan each part of the ceremony and reception. Summer and her team are simply fantastic! She is a true professional! She is calm, extremely knowledgeable, quite organized and so very easy to work with!
From the first time my daughter spoke to her, it was clear she was quite capable of creating an entire wedding weekend just as my daughter visualized. I knew after we met with her in early July 2016, that she understood our vision and would be able create the perfect setting for a wonderful weekend in the mountains of Cashiers. It was important to us to have an entire weekend of events since the majority of guests would be traveling long distances to spend the weekend in the mountains. Summer took this dream and created a fairy-tale weekend that we could have only imagined. Summer does a fabulous job communicating via email and conferences calls when needed. She met us on site twice to help with the planning!
She provided us with a list of vendors that proved extremely helpful! She kept track of contracts, advised us frequently and was just overall our best friend for over a year! We hosted a Welcome Party at our home on the Friday night of the wedding and Summer and her team coordinated every detail since we were gone for the day at bridal events. We arrived at our home with a party perfectly set up and every detail done just as we had talked about.
Summer and her team were at the venue all day Saturday, supervising every aspect and it could not have been more perfect! She was attentive to every detail and recommended some fun, creative ideas to personalize the wedding weekend! She designed a time-line that kept all the vendors on track which allowed the entire day to flow smoothly from start to finish! Our family and friends were so very complimentary of the entire event and all the wonderful, special details created by a very talented team! Summer is absolutely fabulous! I absolutely, without hesitation, highly recommend Firefly Event Company for your event!

Jocelyn and her team did a wonderful job with our wedding! I've run events in the past and I hired Firefly because I wanted to enjoy the day instead of feeling like I was working. I certainly did enjoy the day! I was given so many compliments from guests about how smoothly everything went...and on time! Three weeks before the wedding our caterer for both the rehearsal and the reception canceled and Jocelyn did a great job helping us figure it out. I also have to mention that I was a bag of nerves before walking down the aisle and her assistant Kelly did a great job and making me feel comfortable. I can't recommend this team enough!

Firefly Event Company is truly amazing. I was in my final year of an intensive Masters program when I got engaged and had very little time to plan my wedding- but Jocelyn took care of EVERYTHING. She connected us to the most amazing vendors- I do not think we would have found any of these great vendors without her. She made itineraries for us, kept in touch with all of our vendors, and helped me every step of the way. For the wedding weekend, she made the most amazing day of schedule. The reception flowed SO smoothly because of the schedule Jocelyn made. I have never been to a reception that seemed to flow THAT smooth. I can't even put it into words!! She was also a god-send on the day of the wedding. She was a great calming presence- dealt with so many things so I would be able to relax and enjoy myself- and was truly a rockstar. I can't explain how amazing she was and how grateful my husband and I are for having her plan our wedding. Any couple would be so lucky to have Firefly Event Company. Truly amazing. I have been told by multiple guests our wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to- and I agree!

Firefly Event Company was nothing short of amazing. We knew we needed a wedding planner due to Asheville being a destination, as we live in Savannah, GA. I got on google and they were the first to pop up, with nothing but amazing reviews. I contacted Summer and the rest was history. She was on top of everything from talking to vendors, finding out small details, and making sure all the big details played out exactly how we pictured. She was so helpful and really gave us a peace of mind. When we arrived on the property for the big weekend, she brought her partner Jocelyn who was just as accommodating and relaxed as she. They were on top of everything, and really made it so easy for us. Weddings can be so stressful, especially when you don't live in the area of your wedding. There was never a day that I felt alone because she was just an email/phone call away. We will forever be grateful to Firefly Event Company and their services, they were incredible! Jocelyn was absolutely phenomenal from the very first phone call all the way through to our big day. Jocelyn was fantastic at listening to our vision for our wedding and was great at helping us to make decisions that would keep us within our budget. She and Summer were both amazing during the wedding and reception. I noticed throughout the entire evening that they always seemed to be a step ahead of everything and made everything run smoothly! We got SO many compliments about our wedding ceremony and how well everything flowed throughout the evening and I have Jocelyn and Summer to thank for that! I HIGHLY recommend them, you will not be disappointed!!

Words cannot begin to describe how grateful I am to have hired Jocelyn and Summer for our spring wedding. No matter how many times we changed our minds on various decisions, they always remained calm, kind and compassionate. More importantly, they treated you with the upmost respect and were extremely knowledgable - this was so helpful in guiding our decisions along the way. As the groom's parents, we engaged Jocelyn Huntley from Firefly Event Company to help with the rehearsal dinner the evening before the wedding. The bride chose Firefly and we thought using the same company a good idea. Everyone invited to the wedding was invited to the rehearsal dinner, so, we were planning a dinner for up to 150 people. The wedding was planned about two hours from home. Jocelyn was extremely helpful with advice, suggesting vendors (venue, florist, bakery, etc.). Everything was planned down to the tiniest detail. The day of the event, Jocelyn, Summer and Consuelo were at the venue in plenty of time to get everything set up and took care of everything. We engaged them to stay on site and coordinate the evening so that we could enjoy the event. Firefly did an amazing job working with the venue staff to make sure everything was cleaned up and closed down at the end of the night. We are extremely pleased and appreciative of their help. I would definitely hire them again if we ever have need to plan another event.

Jocelyn was an absolute dream to work with. I needed to let someone take the reins on my big day so I could sit back and relax, and I trusted Jocelyn to execute my design plan to a T. She took my decor and ideas and elevated them to a level I could have never imagined. When I walked into the venue for the first time on my wedding night, I was blown away. Every single thing I had purchased over the past 12 months had a special place. During the planning process, Jocelyn was quick to respond and answer questions. And when I buckled under stress, she stayed on me to make sure everything was coordinating with our timeline. I thought I would be swimming in stress the week of the wedding -- making calls to vendors, meeting with vendors, handling last-minute details. Jocelyn handled it all. I was able to spend time with out-of-town friends and actually ENJOY the days leading up to my special day. I don't have enough wonderful things to say about Firefly. I wish I could use them for daily life planning. Is that possible? Thank you, Jocelyn and team, for letting me relax for once in my life! That's truly priceless.

Jocelyn was wonderful leading up to the wedding with keeping me on track and making sure I had all of my vendors booked in time, which was incredibly helpful with a busy work schedule! On the day of, I'm not sure what we would have done without Jocelyn and Summer. Every detail of the day turned out perfectly! They made the day go by so seamlessly and allowed my husband and I, and our families, to just relax and enjoy the day!

We hired Summer from Firefly Event Company for their "Silver Package" Planning services for our Halloween Wedding and truly thought she was amazing!! I don’t know what I would have done without Summer or how I could have pulled everything off without their professional assistance. Summer is not only organized and easy to work with prior to the wedding, which is extremely helpful. But she really did a beautiful job decorating, coordinating the ceremony, taking care of the bride & groom (& other guests) and ensuring that the evening flowed seamlessly. We were extremely happy with their services and highly recommend them if you want to have a stress free wedding day. They are worth every penny and than some!!

This was the best wedding planner imaginable. She anticipated my every need and was completely there for me when I needed extra help, a pick me up, or a bit of calming down. She is extremely organized and made sure that I got things done when they needed to be. Most importantly, she made the overwhelming process fun!!! Jocelyn was a delight to work with from start to finish! My husband and I planned our Asheville wedding via emails and phone calls from our home in Houston, and Jocelyn was our day-of coordinator -- but she was much more. Months out, she was available to talk details with, to give recommendations, and hiring her was the best decision we made. We found our photographer (amazing!) and our florist (wonderful!) from her list of preferred vendors. She took time to get to know us, to understand the parts of the day that meant the most to us and was sure they flowed flawlessly - we even had time to eat! I'd recommend hiring a coordinator to any bride, and Jocelyn and her team in particular - our wedding weekend was fun and carefree thanks to Firefly Events!

Jocelyn was an essential part to making our wedding day perfect. She helped us out tremendously throughout the entire year prior to the wedding from providing ideas for vendors through helping us design invitations and everything in between. We were so fortunate to have Summer plan our wedding. From the beginning she was incredibly responsive and helpful. Since we are not from the Asheville area and did not know much about planning the wedding, we chose the platinum package. Honestly, it was the best money we could have spent. Summer took care of everything. We just had to tell her what we wanted. The day of the wedding went perfectly. Summer organized everything from start to finish. I could not have been more pleased with the service provided by Firefly. Having a wedding planner that was living in the city that we were to be married while we lived so far away was just perfect. Summer went through every detail, asking tons of questions to make sure everything had a place. Summer was able to get all of our vendors squared away and also held many conference calls and face to face meetings to make sure we were all on the same page. As luck would have it, our first venue fell through and Summer was able to assist us in finding a new venue within a month before our wedding. I know that had to be terribly stressful for her as it was for us. She did an amazing job, and we have gained a new friend in the process. We will forever be grateful for what Summer and the other Firefly staff have done for us in making our wedding the best part of my life! I recommend them 150%!

Summer and Firefly Event Company was incredible from the very beginning to the very end. We had a fairly small budget, but wanted to keep our wedding as much "us" as possible. Summer listened to our hopes and wishes, guiding us in the process to help make our wedding vision come to fruition. She provided information and details we would have never thought of! We were not sure whether or not to hire a planner, but I can't imagine going through the wedding planning process or wedding day without her guidance. Our wedding day fit our personalities and really captured who we are as a couple. Even with bad weather and last minute changes, Firefly staff amazed us with their hard work and dedication to make the day perfect (and it was!). Aside from saying "I do" to one another, hiring Summer and Firefly Event staff was the best decision and investment we made! We can not say enough wonderful things about them!

Hiring Jocelyn as our day-of-coordinator was one of the best decisions we made in our planning process. We started planning our wedding while living out of state and her recommendations made things so much easier! Summer Wember with Firefly Events was AWESOME to work with. Planning a destination wedding has many challenges, but we always felt that we were in great hands with Summer. Her professionalism was evident the entire 11 months that we worked together, and I had complete confidence in her whole way through. The result was an absolutely gorgeous wedding! Jocelyn was really wonderful both in helping me navigate the process of planning my wedding and the day itself. Jocelyn made the entire process so much less convoluted, and her warm demeanor and enthusiasm made her a pleasure to work with. If you're even thinking about wedding planning services, you should give these folks a call. While the services may cost a bit, their expertise with vendors and budget-friendly options will recoup much of the cost. The time you will save, and the high quality work they do, is priceless.

My husband and I got married last weekend in Lake Lure, NC. Summer, from Firefly, helped us with our event. And believe me, she had her work cut out from her: two grooms, neither of whom had a clue about weddings, and were coordinating from Massachusetts.

Summer spent the time to learn our tastes. Well, more directly, she spent the time making us figure out what our tastes were so we could tell her. We went with a steampunk meets Doctor Who theme, which is admittedly a bit off the beaten path. She ran with it, coordinating the floral arrangements, cake, and decorations to match. Her selection of vendors was also top notch.

With some of the recent opposition against gay weddings in the news lately, we were a little concerned we might run across not-so-progressive vendors who might cause heartache for our event. Summer understood our concerns and ensured we did not have any such issues. While this may be a relatively rare concern, Firefly works with people to make things happen.

The actual event was amazing: great food, great service, and great times. We received all sorts of praise from our guests about how well done it was. We could not have asked for anything more.

I had the pleasure of working with Summer Wember at Firefly Event Compnay. She was caring, responsive, professional, self driven and detail oriented. During the planning process, worries were taken away and confidence was place. Due to her work ethic and management of the event, I didn't have to think of a thing except being excited to marry my husband. Amazing experience! We told Jocelyn our vision for our destination wedding and she knocked it out of the park!! From the first phone interview through our send off at the ceremony, we felt like we were working with our best friend. She kept us on track and organized (from almost 300 miles away). In preparation for our recent wedding in Asheville with a reception at an event barn in the beautiful surrounding mountains, we found FIREFLY EVENT COMPANY by searching on line and finding the website. There were so many things there that appealed to us, fit our personalities and had the overall feel of what we wanted for our day.

We knew after meeting with Jocelyn that we had lucked out in finding someone very special. She was truly professional, took time to listen to all our thoughts, gave us some initial ideas that we liked and then gave us short lists of vendors that she felt would be a good fit. She also was helpful and realistic when discussing our budget. She she was absolutely spot-on in every area.

She was a wonderful liaison and coordinated every aspect with all involved. She gave us honest and extremely helpful opinions and guidance and always got back to us very quickly when we had questions. She was such a positive, calming and flexible presence through the whole process.

Our wedding day was beyond all our expectations and we did not have a moment of having to think or worry about any logistical aspect the entire day. We were able to just have a blast knowing we were in great, capable hands with Jocelyn and the staff of FIREFLY.

Many of our guests said it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had ever seen. We highly recommend her for any events you might be planning.

Jocelyn eased our stress the whole time during planning and made our day such a perfect one. I can't believe how easily things flowed and it was so nice trusting that things would be taken care of. She definitely made a hard job look easy.

Firefly events staff was above and beyond! As a professional event planner myself, when it came to planning and executing my own wedding I knew I was going to hire someone, and not dare try it myself. Firefly Events was my first choice. I met with Jocelyn for a coffee and just went over the ideas we both had. From then on I followed her guidance. She led me to amazing vendors that really tied the day together perfect, from invitations, music, to flowers. She saved me more money by having affordable venders then ones I sought out on my own. Then on day of, I didn't have a clue if there was a hiccup or not, because she took care of everything. She even stepped in to save my Mom from getting in trouble from getting lipstick on my dress ;) I know the day wouldn't have been as flawless or exciting if it wasn't for Firefly Events and their amazing staff. I can't give her a high enough accolades, but make Firefly Events the very first decision of your wedding, and I can promise you a spectacular event.

Jocelyn and the entire team at Firefly Events were absolutely phenomenal! From the first meeting with Jocelyn through our entire wedding day and even afterwards, Jocelyn helped us navigate through the complexities of planning a wedding. We had a large group and as you can imagine, I was nervous about how to coordinate so everyone knew where to be and had the timeline for the day. The entire day was seamless and Jocelyn was there to ensure things went according to plan. After the wedding, I received compliments from guests on how Jocelyn was helpful in various ways. Throughout the year of planning the wedding, Jocelyn kept me on track on what needed to get done and when. Since we live out of town, we had arranged phone conferences and several visits to Asheville where she had set up meetings to make effective use of our time. She offered expertise on reputable vendors for us to interview so as to select those vendors that would meet our needs. She helped us create a day and an event that was meaningful to us and our families. I cannot recommend her enough!!

Firefly is amazing!! My husband and I chose to elope to Asheville, NC. Jocelyn helped me with everything!! And on short notice. She made the day amazing and so special for us. She listened to my ideas and created something I had only dreamed about. She really puts the client first.

Summer and Firefly Events made our day go so smoothly! We had a logistically complicated and non-traditional venue, but Summer made sure everything worked out flawlessly. She was super organized and communicated well throughout the whole process. I could tell that she really wanted us to have exactly the type of wedding we wanted, and didn't try to talk us into a bunch of stuff that wasn't important to us. It was a huge stress off my back for her to confirm all the vendors and negotiate last minute details the week of the wedding, so I didn't have to worry about it. I felt so well taken care of during the wedding, from having her closeby to fix my dress malfunctions, to the food she made sure we had waiting for us afterwards in our honeymoon cabin. She also recommended an excellent officiant when a friend of ours cancelled on us just a month beforehand. I can't imagine trying to pull off such a perfect day without her. The only thing that maybe was a little off was we ended up with too much wine, but I guess that's better than too little. Everyone had a blast and said it was the most fun and genuine wedding they had ever been too!

From our very first conversation, I knew Jocelyn would be our wedding planner. She listened to our needs, offered great, sage advice, and also encouraged us to create a wedding day that reflected us. Every step of the way Firefly held our hand; from helping us find our magical venue to our amazing D.J., caterer, rental companies, etc. ... And then coordinating all our vendors, creating our timeline and overseeing every last detail. I am (some may say) a control freak, but I was actually able to let go the day of my wedding because I knew we were in great hands. Jocelyn was a joy to work with and I always felt she had our best interest in mind. Firefly made our day come together and I am so grateful.

Summer was awesome! Our wedding had about 100 people so it took a lot of effort to make things run smoothly. During the whole wedding planning process she really kept me on-the-ball and helped me with the minuet details that I never would have thought about. This really complimented my laid approach to things. She was there to call vendors with questions, and make sure all communication was on the table for everyone!
On the day of the wedding she was there to really orchestrate the timing of things to make the wedding flow as it should without any hitches. There really is a lot of work that goes into such a huge event with so many people even though I didn't want any formalities. Summer was such an asset to make the wedding FUN and not work on our special day! I highly recommend her!!!

Jocelyn was (is!) awesome! She gave amazing vendor referrals, which was extremely helpful especially since I don't live in North Carolina. She was available whenever I needed her prior to our wedding and on the days leading up to the wedding made me feel calm and reassured that it was going to be the best day ever! Jocelyn was so easy to work with! We hired her as our "day of" planner at the end of our planning after realizing what a chore it was to organize all of our vendors. She immediately stepped in and took over communication with our vendors. She worked with us at our rehearsal to get everyone where they needed to be and was integral to our wedding day going off without a hitch. Because of her, all vendors showed up on time and she even found a seamstress to fix my dress after the bustle was torn during our cocktail hour. My now-husband was very impressed with how she did an amazing job keeping everyone on schedule. Highly recommend hiring Firefly Events to coordinate your wedding!

Jocelyn and Brenda were such a joy to work with from the very first conversation. Jocelyn had such great and unique ideas to help make our wedding day a special and memorable day for us. I'm very glad we hired Firefly Event Company as our wedding planner. Kate was extremely responsive and helpful. She managed our vendors really well, too. We selected the Platinum package and were very happy with the level of service we received. Even with the Platinum package there was still a lot the couple had to do, so in hindsight, I probably would have selected a different package level from Firefly that would have included full service planning. I would definitely recommend using Kate for your special day! She really was great.

Jocelyn with Firefly was wonderful to work with! With my very busy work like, I decided to opt for the 'Platinum package', which, among a lot of other things, meant that Jocelyn would handle vendor communication, which was a huge help. Jocelyn helped keep me on track, especially with vendor payments, and keep me sane. She also made several great suggestions (like a gourmet popcorn bar) that I wouldn't have thought of. And when, on the Wednesday before my wedding, I decided to change the ceremony location to a different part of our venue due to the weather forecast (the ceremony and reception were in the same venue, but it was large so there were several different options), Jocelyn was unbelievably supportive and jumped right on the task of dealing with the florist and events manager at the venue. And even with such short notice, the ceremony looked incredible. Everything was perfect, and I am so glad I had Jocelyn to run everything for me the day of! She went above and beyond and was so attentive to us during the reception, always making sure we had whatever we needed.

I am so thankful for Summer and the Firefly team. As an out of town bride, I wanted someone in Asheville to support my husband, my family, and me with pulling together the logistics of our wedding day. Summer stepped up to that challenge and did so with such ease. In the planning process, Summer shared helpful documents with my mom and me to help us figure out what we needed to be thinking about when. We had calls every few weeks to check in about updates and troubleshoot any pieces we felt stuck on. My husband and I had a lot going on throughout the year we planned our wedding, but working with Summer helped us feel focused and on track. She was also always willing to check in with different members of our families and provide suggestions for parts of the wedding weekend with which she was not directly assisting (i.e. rehearsal dinner, day after brunch). We really appreciated her insider information for two families of outsiders!
While Summer was wonderful during the planning process, she was even more amazing during our wedding weekend. When we connected on the day before the wedding, she immediately pulled me aside to see how I was doing and take a feel for group vibe. I appreciated how well she understood people dynamics and how incredibly calm she was throughout our whole wedding weekend! How lovely. While calm, she was also on top of every detail and made sure that my husband and I were not bothered about details so that we got to just enjoy our wedding day. That meant so much to us. We, along with both of our families, feel that we got to more fully enjoy our wedding weekend because we had Summer and her team there to cover any issues that arose. She made my husband and I feel so cared for - restocking our drinks, communicating with the band for us, and packing us food to go for after the reception – she and the Firefly team did it all. We enjoyed every single minute of our wedding day. So much of that was thanks to Summer and her team. Thank you!!!

We loved working with Jocelyn at Firefly! We booked a mid-range package that was more than day-of planning, but not full-service planning, and it was exactly what we needed. Jocelyn was there from the beginning for advice, suggestions, and answering questions...everything from invitation wording to helping out when our caterer canceled on us six months out. She was friendly, responsive, helpful, and very organized. Couldn't imagine having done it without her!

Summer was great about correspondence and answering questions before the wedding. I had invested in the month of package as I had already planned all the vendors and had a venue that took care of many of the smaller details. I felt that it was the actual wedding day that was disappointing to me. I had several comments from friends that her assistant, Jocelyn, had been less than polite and I also felt that the entire evening was rather rushed and that I wasn't consulted enough when things ran slightly behind. I spoke to Summer before the wedding about extending our reception by 30 minutes and she discouraged me from doing so, saying that we would run on time and it would be too difficult to change the time with vendors etc. I chose to extend it anyways (and it was very easily worked out) because I am always skeptical of timelines. I am so thankful that I did that against her advice because undoubtedly we did run behind, and EVEN THEN it felt rushed. There were people who had just sat down to eat when the wedding planners were pushing to move forward with the next "event." I felt that this was poor judgement and inconsiderate on the planners side (my mom, mother of the bride, felt that it was in efforts for them to get home earlier...not sure if I agree but worth noting). We had also asked them to put the flower arrangements in the mother of the bride's car as we wanted to take them home, which they agreed to do. We found out the next morning they had taken only the smaller arrangements and left ALL the larger, more beautiful, more expensive arrangements out and they froze overnight. There was plenty of staff around to help had they needed/asked for it. I was very displeased about this as flowers are some of the more expensive touches at the wedding and I had hoped to enjoy them for days more and ultimately dry a few. Overall, I thought that FireFly was great before the wedding, but wasn't 100% satisfied looking back on the evening.

We hired Jocelyn as our day of coordinator to help ensure things ran smoothly and to keep my wife from getting stressed out. I must preface the rest of the review with the fact that my wife and I had already done much of the wedding groundwork on our own (in terms of finding vendors) and were highly involved throughout the process.

That said - Jocelyn was also hired to take care of our event rentals (communicating with the rental company, determining amounts, etc.). in order to try and secure her as she explained she didn't normally take more than one DOC package during October (peak wedding season in the area). My wife and I ended up handling the majority of the event rentals - with Jocelyn serving only as a go between in a few instances. Granted- this was one of those areas we may have been over involved, and she was helpful in deciding how much we needed to order in terms of flatware, barware, glassware, etc.

She was quite responsive to emails, and persistent about certain things (such as our personal items list). However, there were several instances that were rather frustrating.
Namely:
I provided a list of people in the processional, and where their reserved seats were. At the rehearsal, this was scrawled on the back of an envelope and grossly incorrect.
My wife stood next to Jocelyn and texted her our personal items list. And yet, there were items that did not make it back.
I had to chase down her assistant, during what was supposed to be our exit, because the cards, gifts, dessert, and prepared "to-go" meals for us were not in our car. The food never made it and ended up getting thrown away.

Otherwise, she was great at the rehearsal and reception. Ran the rehearsal efficiently and smoothly. Aside from the mishaps above, she did a good job of keeping us, and the event, taken care of on the day.

Oh no! I am so sorry that you were displeased. However, we honestly don't feel that your review is a true reflection of the course of events that actually took place. The ceremony processional details changed at the rehearsal due to your parents request (and in no way affected the wedding processional the next day). You had also previously listed a contact person who would be responsible for taking the personal items, cards and gifts (not in the get-away car), so they went with that person, as planned. We also have never thrown away food - you had a plated meal, so all of the food was accounted for. We do appreciate the feedback, though, and certainly wish you both all the best!

Let me start by saying our wedding really was absolutely fabulous and I could not have asked for a more beautiful, fun night. I booked Jocelyn early on in my planning process with the gold package ($3100). Our consultation call was great and I was confident she would be a great coordinator. Throughout the process I was disappointed with her multiple times - there are only so many times that rescheduling phone calls at the last minute or weeks delay in email responses are excusable. The week of the wedding I got very little correspondence from her until the Thursday prior to the event. By that point my fiancé and I were already en route to Asheville for our big day. The details discussed during these calls and emails would all have been appropriate to be discussed before this time. We met Friday to do the rehearsal and then Saturday for the big event. I will say all of my vendors were where they were supposed to be and the space was absolutely beautiful so I will give her some credit there. As I said, the night was great and everything seemed to go off without a hitch until my mom got back to the hotel with our personal items only to realize all of the cards brought by guests were missing. While I am in no way suggesting Jocelyn was responsible for this, she was responsible for keeping my items safe and accounted for. Unfortunately she left the cards and gifts in an unattended, unsecured room for an hour+. Upon arriving home from our honeymoon and unpacking, I realized that our cake knife also did not get returned. In the grand scheme this is not a big deal, though it was a gift, but again just another disappointment. Overall I think you could find a better planner/coordinator for the money.
