Perfect Barn Wedding Venue
We spent months researching barn/farm venues in Virginia, and there were clear differences between the commercial barn venues (fake) and the true country barn venues. Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm (FLAMS) fell into our laps when we were searching the historical area and farmlands of Leesburg. Bonus #1: it’s an active farm with variety of animals that you can interact with and take pictures with! Not only do they advertise a classic red barn, there is a separate cocktail building with a backroom for the groomsmen, a cute cottage for the bridal party, and a pond down the hill with big willow tree that’s the perfect secluded spot for the first look! Bonus #2: FLAMS owners Patricia and Karl are two of the most kind-hearted, hard-working, and genuine people we’ve ever met! From the moment we first drove down the gravel road and Patricia was waving in excitement for us, we felt so welcome! During our walkthrough of the venue, seeing all the beautiful ceremony and reception options, we got to meet some of the farm animals and hear about the success story of their dream venture and where the name came from. It couldn’t have been a more meaningful story and we felt as if it was meant to be!
We booked the venue months in advance for a June 2025 wedding, placed a deposit and signed the contract - which was simple and less than 10 pages. We found out we were pregnant in November 2024, and quickly called Patricia to discuss options. They were open to moving the date one time (which is outlined in their contract) as long as the date was open, so we moved it up to April 2025. They were genuinely excited for us and reassured us it would be the perfect day at the perfect time of the season. We wanted to do things a little untraditional and simplify things to make it easier on me considering I would be six months pregnant by then.
We planned for a pre-wedding cocktail hour with drinks and some of our favorite snacks, (bonus #3: they setup a photoshoot for the guests with the mini horses!) We were able to pull off a pre-staged setup in the barn for the ceremony, dinner, and big reception, all without having to do any major rearrangements in between. We had an open bar the entire time, dinner buffet, DJ was setup on a stage in the corner, perfect display for our wedding cake, (bonus #4: Karl is a licensed officiant so we were blessed to have him marry us) and the whole plan was wonderfully executed by all.
Even with the crazy weather (rain on and off all morning, and wild winds that shook the barn in even the quietest moments) Patricia and Karl did everything in their power to make our day smooth sailing and flawless. If something didn’t go as planned, it was resolved with the wedding coordinator before we ever knew about it!
By the end of the night, we were all gathered on the dance floor, drinks up celebrating, and I remember seeing Patricia and Karl dancing alongside everyone. I was hoping they would get to enjoy their evening with us just as much as we got to enjoy ours, literally thanks to all their hard work and efforts to make our wedding day perfect.
Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm wasn’t just the perfect farm wedding venue with the perfect old red barn like I always dreamed of. It became one of the most sentimental places in our lives, on one of the most sentimental days of our lives, with every sentimental person in our lives - including Patricia and Karl.
“Highly recommended” isn’t the proper term, it’s a MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE! -

A Wedding To Remember
This review is 5 years delayed. We owe Patricia and her family an apology for taking so long...BUT....man we had the most memorable wedding in the world here at this farm. We worked with Patricia and her team for months on curating the perfect wedding at their beautiful farm. We got lucky and had a whole week to prepare. Our family stayed at their cute little vacation rental on the property while we all pitched in and decorated the place in the days leading up to the big one. Patricia and her family showed us so much grace and kindness during this time. Our wedding was on Labor Day weekend of 2018, and we had the BIGGEST downpour of the century, it felt like. As you can imagine, it was not "ideal," to say the least. But the memories we made at this wedding with the many friends and family gathered around, and the amazing team at Faith Like A Mustard Seed Farm, we honestly couldn't ask for anything better. We would absolutely recommend this farm and family to anyone looking to host a wedding or larger gathering, you will not be disappointed!! -

Best venue for farm wedding
I loved attending the wedding last fall at Faith like a Mustard Seed Farm. The wedding and reception seemed like a well rehearsed play. Everything flowed - from the ceremony till the beautiful sparkler arch as we sent the couple off. Mountain views, great service, cameo pics with a cute goat and Caspian the horse. Beautiful experience and wonderful memories!

Amazing Venue and Fabulous Owners!
We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting for our event. Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm is absolutely stunning - gorgeous landscape, beautiful classic barn and buildings, quaint area for cocktails, B&B on the property, farm animals, horses - honestly everything you can imagine in this picturesque setting. The owners are lovely - helpful, knowledgeable, experienced, talented, understanding and even lots of fun! Everything was taken care of and handled with love and great detail. If you're looking for a unique experience with honest people, you've found it! I can't say enough great things about Faith Like A Mustard Seed Farm and owners Patricia & Karl Glaeser. -

Beautiful Venue! Amazing Hosts!
My daughter got married here in 2022 and it was absolutely perfect! The venue is gorgeous and has everything you need! Patricia was so helpful to us with all aspects of planning. The property has horses and beautiful scenery. My daughter chose to get married under the willow tree by the pond but there are other options indoor and outdoor as well. I can't say enough about how seamless (and fun!!!) the evening was!-

The perfect farm wedding venue!
Patricia and Karl hosted the wedding of our DREAMS on their beautiful farm. If I could give them 100 stars, I would. The food was amazing, the views are incredible, the farm animals are friendly, and the service was spectacular. I am so grateful that we found this place and I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who hopes to have a beautiful rustic wedding. -

Thankful I found FLAMS!
Absolutely stunning venue with beautifully restored and decorated reception area and cocktail lounge. Patricia and Karl are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly and are happy to share their farm (and adorable animals!) with the couples and their guests. They will help you through the whole process to make sure that your wedding day goes just the way you want. I’m so thankful to have found them! -

Unforgettable experience!
We had a magical Fall wedding at Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm. The setting was beautiful – we held the ceremony under the weeping willow tree by the pond, surrounded by horses, goats, and haystacks as the afternoon sun began to set. Patricia and Karl (the venue owners) thought of everything, making planning much easier. They also did a fantastic job of catering - their food was delicious, and many seconds were had! We danced the night away in the lovely barn and ended the night making music by the firepit. Our goal of a fun party with special friends culminated in a wedding that surpassed all expectations. We highly recommend this venue for an unforgettable experience! -

Beautiful Barn and Amazing Wedding Coordination Team
We visited Faith Like a mustard seed farm in the summer of 2022 when it was still undergoing heavy renovations. We saw the vision the owners had for it (Patricia and Karl) and booked right away. We think it is the most beautiful authentic barn wedding venue in Loudoun County.
In booking the venue for our wedding we also hired the owner, Patricia, to be our month of coordinator. Our ceremony was offsite so only the cocktail hour and reception took place at Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm. The venue is absolutely gorgeous with tasteful and impressive recent renovations. There are photo opportunities all over the property. Unfortunately, it did rain for most of our wedding day which posed some challenges for a barn venue, but it turned out quite well in the end. We were able to use a gator to drive out to the beautiful willow tree by the pond behind the barn for our bridal portraits and get some amazing shots despite the rain. If it were less of a wet day, we know there would be even more amazing pictures around the property as well. The barn doors kept the wind and rain out and once everyone was inside the barn you could hardly tell it was raining. The farm animals were awesome throughout our reception and our guests loved it! One of our favorite wedding photos is with Patricia's horse for portraits. We 100% recommend Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm as your wedding venue and Patricia as your month of coordinator.
That being said, we do have some constructive feedback: The 2 single stall bathrooms were insufficient for our wedding of 130 people. I think it would be beneficial if portable restrooms were made available for larger weddings; Due to the rain, the cocktail farm store was a bit small for 130 guests. Had it not rained, people would've been more spread out and it likely would have been alright; The owners are a husband and wife team which was beneficial but there were a few small instances of miscommunications during our planning process. Although, in the end it all worked out, and Karl and Patricia did such an outstanding job together!!
Patricia and Karl went above and beyond to make our day memorable. Special care was taken to help us and our guests due to a heavy rainstorm that lasted the majority of the day. Patricia and Karl were easy going, yet on-point to deliver such an amazing experience. They were our first line of defense when it came to little issues here and there with different vendors and other situations that inevitably come up on a wedding day. We are thankful for their dedication and hard work and can 100% recommend you book your wedding at Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm.-

Perfect Day!
SO PERFECT!! We loved having our wedding at FLAMS. Our first introduction to Patricia and Karl was wonderful they made us feel connected to their family. It was important to us that we used small/locally owned business for our wedding and we are so happy to be able to support their family owned and operated business. We wanted to have a romantic farm wedding and FLAMS was PERFECT! Planning our wedding in the 2020 pandemic was not easy; but they eased our worries by being respectful and communicative throughout the whole process. They worked great with our vendors. The day of the wedding was SO SMOOTH! My guests all commented on how professional, personable, and friendly they were. Patricia, Karl, and their staff were all wonderful and very accommodating. Patricia worked so well with our photographer and our pictures were MAGICAL! Our wedding day was a semi-chilly evening and the last-minute decision to do the fire pit was a great call. Karl was very helpful the whole evening! Our wedding was great, and we did not want it to end! We have returned out to FLAMS after the wedding multiple times for visits and photography sessions, we LOVE them. It is always so exciting to see what is new and happening at the farm. They are like our extended family and lifelong friends. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING, LOVE YOU GUYS! -

We had such a wonderful experience
We fell in love with Faith like a Mustard Seed Farm (FLAMS Farm) the moment we arrived to tour it. We were always greeted by their super friendly and loving dog, Tilco. As dog lovers that was a definite bonus!
The owners Patricia and Karl Glaeser were so great to work with through the entire planning process! They were quick to respond to any questions we had and were flexible with us.
With the venue (ceremony, cocktail hour and reception) we got a bartender, most rentals, and Patricia as the day-of-coordinator. Patricia truly knows what she is doing as a DOC and was on top of everything during the wedding day. Patricia made the day stress free and enjoyable for both of us! Karl was there to assist with anything. For example, giving guests or my husband and I rides in the gator, and fixing the seating chart. Karl even entertained the brides father by letting him check out their tractor!
We are so glad we found and chose FLAMS Farm for our venue and we encourage any couple looking for a rustic, chic, farm type venue to check them out! -

Dream wedding venue! A hidden gem!
Booking Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm was the best decision we made for our wedding! The farm is so beautiful, and Karl and Patricia seem to be constantly making improvements. We loved it when we booked it, and everything was even more gorgeous by our wedding day! We had to reschedule (twice) due to Covid, but Patricia was so flexible and we had no issues moving the date multiple times. I heard lots of horror stories from other Covid brides trying to reschedule at their venues, but we were so so lucky to be able to work with the FLAM team.
The catering provided by FLAM was incredible. The food was so delicious (we went with the barbecue buffet option), and the setup and service was perfection. Our guests could not stop talking about the food! Everyone ate so much and gave us rave reviews all night. The mini cornbread muffins were a HUGE hit, and Patricia even had one of her severs bring a tray of (incredible) crab cakes to my husband and I while we were taking photos after the ceremony so we wouldn't miss out!
Finally, Patricia was such an amazing day of coordinator. We dropped off all of our decorations the night of the rehearsal and I did my best to explain to Patricia the vision I had in mind, but I don't have a great eye for decor or events! Throughout the wedding day while I was getting ready, Patricia would pop into the bridal suite to show me photos of the setup to make sure everything looked how I wanted. I can't even explain how blown away I was with what Patricia did. The reception space looked even more beautiful than I could have imagined it, and she took every idea my husband and I had for the wedding and just ran with it and made it amazing.
I could cannot say enough good things about FLAM and I highly recommend booking them for your venue and catering!!-

The best decision when planning our wedding.
Patricia and Karl were absolutely amazing. From start to finish in planning our wedding Patricia was very attentive and guided us in this entire process. Faith like a mustard seed farm is an absolutely gorgeous venue with unique character and amazing food! Patricia and Karl makes you honestly feel like family. The fact that she was our day of coordinator and that everything was included (table, settings, etc) made everything SO MUCH EASIER. We could not be happier and relieved that we chose them for our special occasion. They truly made our wedding special and an amazing day that we will never forget. -

Perfect rustic chic wedding
From the very first time we visited FLAMS and met Karl and Patricia, we knew it would be an amazing venue. Price wise it was very reasonable and they were so flexible. We had a few special requests and they were happy to help us figure out ways to accommodate all the things we wanted. The cocktail hour space worked perfectly where our guests could eat and drink while we did beautiful portraits in the field. The barn was a beautiful reception space. Our friends loved the food, loved the dancing space and loved all the various animals on the farm! Overall, it was an amazing day and it felt like Patricia and Karl really did care about us as more than clients. Would highly recommend to anyone! -

We loved our 9/29/18 wedding at Faith Like a Mustard Seed Farm. Karl and Patricia are a wonderful couple! The barn was sweet and lovely-a great place to get married. Our catering consultation was so much fun--and we were blown away by the food! On our wedding day, they made sure that we got a taste of the wine and charcuterie being served during cocktail hour while we were taking pictures. I've heard so many brides say that they never got to eat during the reception--trust me, you will not have that problem if your wedding is here! The food was phenomenal, and our guests loved it as well. -

My husband and I were parents of the bride. We chose this B and B for our base for the wedding weekend. We used the Great Room on the first floor of the B and B cottage as a staging area for the bridesmaids. For the day of the wedding it was a perfect venue for the 6 best friends and mothers of the bride and groom to assemble, chat, dress, snack, open gifts… a hair and make-up stylist worked easily in this space. Our daughter enjoyed a long run in the countryside; I toured the wonderful farm kitchen where Patricia cooks and teaches. We also had free run of the working farm… I brought mirrors, rugs and flowers to make the space festive. The morning after the wedding we hosted an awesome breakfast in the Farm Store. The crowd of nearly 80 fortunately was staggered in attendance and we used the indoor "cafe" and outdoor porch space. We enjoyed fresh juices, sausage from the farm that Karl smoked on his Big Green Egg and homemade biscuits (baked by Patricia), and the best "pour over coffee" I have ever tasted! (Oh that cream). My sisters brought home-made jams to complete the simple spread. Many guests bought meat, jam, products from the farm stand. The service was great, the venue charming, and we enjoyed Patricia, Karl and their daughter. -

Wonderful venue, small kinks
5 stars for Patricia and Karl and Lauren, the venue, ambiance and overall amazing time we had at our wedding this past September! So sad to say this, but I can only give 3.5 stars for the food. The food tasting a few months before the wedding was delicious! However, the tastiest thing we tried during the food tasting (wheatberry salad) came out very crunchy the night of the wedding. After letting Patricia know, she realized it must be because she changed vendors recently. The other part that they are working on is food management for the buffet. Our food was a bit on the colder side, so I think Patricia is working on getting some burners to keep things warm as they serve. One more suggestion would be to maybe have two buffet stations (I would have paid extra for this!) so that a guest list of 100-150 won't have to wait so long. They did make up for some of this by throwing in a yummy pork option the day of wedding. The meats, carrots, and potatoes were all well seasoned!
Generally, I had a lot of fun planning for my wedding as Patricia is so easy going and accommodating. It is such a great venue! -

Faith Like A Mustard Seed Farm is a rustic, casual venue on a working farm. If you want a rustic, barn theme this is your venue! The food was fabulous!! We had our Rehearsal dinner the weekend of the worst rain imaginable but the food - 3 types of farm raised heritage pork, fabulous homemade mac-n-cheese, baked beans & hot apple cider - kept us warm. While there are minimal amenities, they are willing to work with you on what they will provide. Faith Like A Mustard Seed Farm was exactly what the bride & groom wanted to round out their vision of their weekend. -

Gorgeous venue. But lots of issues.
We were wed on September 21, 2019 at FLAMS Farm. Before I get started on my full review, I did want to say the venue was gorgeous and it all did come together in the end. If I could change one thing about our wedding day though, it would have been our day-of coordinator. Unfortunately, the day-of coordinator is also the owner (Patricia). She told me I could tip her, I just haven't been able to recover well from that.
We did not use their caterer as they already had a wedding booked for Sunday, and to ensure the quality of the catering coming from their business, they were not comfortable catering two weddings in one weekend. This worked out well for us because we already booked our caterer.
We felt the owners were often on different pages, with one telling us one thing while the other is telling us something else. This was frustrating. Each individual topic felt like it was always discussed 3 times over. But then the topic would still manage to be forgotten. We had to discuss many things more than once in order to make sure it was in the itinerary.
We felt Patricia was unable to handle the workload of all of the weddings they were hosting. I think this venue would be significantly improved if they would hire outside help. I can't blame her, I'm not sure I'd be able to handle 20 weddings a year, especially with more than one a weekend. But it's not my job, it is hers, so I do feel the need to honestly review what we paid for.
I'm sure this isn't entirely unusual, but this venue also charged for every tiny little detail: tables, chairs, bonfire, hay ride, generator, drapes, bartender, ice... all extra.
They were to be responsible for setting up the ceremony site, but around 3:00 (ceremony started at 4:00), nothing was done. We had an issue with the florist, caterer, and Patricia all knowing their roles in setting up the reception. I wasn't there, so I do not know exactly what happened, but I do know I felt stressed, unsupported, and frustrated. I just wanted someone to forget their pride or their paycheck and say "Let's just get it done!" Maybe that's naive. My bridesmaids ended up finding my decor list and running the show, to make sure everything was set up, including the ceremony site.
My family was also responsible for packing up all decor THAT night and taking it with them immediately. My family didn't get home until 1:30AM because FLAMS was unable to offer space to keep our decor until the AM because there was a wedding the next day.
When I called Patricia days later to give her feedback, I felt I was being talked over. I heard a lot of excuses. She placed blame on my parents, the other vendors, and ME for not getting the job done. In the end, I paid her a lot of money. All I wanted was to feel supported. She is my day-of coordinator, I expected her to be the glue that brought it all together. This just didn't quite happen.
After our wedding weekend, they also decided they would not be hosting two weddings in one weekend again. I am frustrated it was our wedding weekend that brought them to this decision. I would have much appreciated being the only wedding that weekend, and we definitely experienced issues and shortcomings because we weren't the only wedding that weekend.
In the end, our wedding day was gorgeous. We had a ton of fun. But I'm still in shock over all of the problems that occurred. I felt I was SO organized, so I'm unsure how these issues could have been avoided.-
