When we hired Dana in 2019 we weren’t sure if hiring a planner was the right decision. Our 2020 wedding was postponed due to Covid which was a big disappointment and caused some stress and barriers with vendors. Dana stuck with us for almost 2 years and took care of absolutely everything. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and Dana was on point in every way imaginable. Leading up to the wedding we were nervous about everything coming together but Dana delivered beyond our expectations and we can’t thank her enough! Our wedding day was beautiful and She is simply amazing. We honestly love you Dana! Thank you so much. -

My partner and I were married in September 2023 in North Jersey. During the wedding planning process, Dana Butler and Dana Butler Productions were unable to fulfill their contractual obligations and has been non-responsive to all of our communication outreach (email, phone, text) since July 2023.
For background, we found and hired our previous wedding day coordinator, Dana Butler from Dana Butler Productions, in November 2022 and then started our working relationship in June 2023. Between June 28 and July 13, I attempted to reach Dana several times through email and phone, and I never received a response until her assistant, Angel Colon, responded to me on July 17 and shared a material update with me over the phone.
Angel shared Dana has been hospitalized and is not expected to work through the end of this year [2023], and we mutually agreed to terminate our contract. At the time, I requested a refund for our initial deposit of $1,576.88, which was paid on November 11, 2022, over the phone and again through email. Angel acknowledged my email on the same day, yet I have not received any updates despite my several attempts at communication.
As you can imagine, my now husband and I were in a stressful position of needing to rehire a wedding day coordinator, who was able to fulfill their contractual obligations, while seeking reimbursement from Dana Butler Productions.
Although our wedding has passed, we still have not received any refund or communication from Dana Butler and her team. Do not hire Dana Butler Productions and save your money. -

I really struggled to write this review, because I wanted to give Dana Butler and her company the benefit of the doubt but I am really at my wit's end. We hired Dana Butler as our day-of coordinator for our September 2023 wedding day. Almost immediately, the red flags were raised when she consistently joined our meetings late (at my reminder) or didn't bother to join them at all.
We tried to be understanding, since she was just hired for coordination, but she insisted on being fairly hands on (and it was written in her contract), so we rescheduled and got on some calls that seemed productive, but they were all talk and no follow up. It became pretty clear that this was a clear pattern with her, and so I made it very clear to Dana that I was disappointed with her services and that I would need a real commitment to change, otherwise, we would need to look for other vendors immediately. She committed to communicating with us better.
Out of nowhere, in July, we were told by her assistant, Angel, that Dana was experiencing a medical emergency and would not be able to fulfill her obligations for any weddings for the remainder of the year. We were told we would be able to get a refund, but lo and behold - we have been ghosted. Angel apparently no longer works at the company, and someone in her family, Ryan, who is settling company matters is unresponsive. We feel scammed out of $1400, and worse, we lost so much time and effort in dealing with this situation. I truly hope Dana is doing well, but it seems that the business was not set up to cope in her absence, and her clients are suffering for it. -

I write this review with a heavy heart because I really wanted to work with Dana, unfortunately she did not hold up to her word. When Dana and I originally spoke, she was kind and seemed enthusiastic and even “gifted” us with month-of planning (which she stated over the phone was 60 days prior, but in her contract it states 90 days prior they would take over.) This “gift” was one reason why we chose Dana and her team. Three weeks before the wedding my vendors were stating that they didn’t know I had a planner and I pretty much had everything done besides a makeup artist and DJ at the time (which she gave me the names of and I’m thankful for that, however that’s mostly where her help ends). Twelve days before our wedding my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I called Dana crying asking for help with the planning because I was going to be with my mom and didn’t want to receive phone calls from vendors. While I was visiting my mom, I had multiple phone calls from each vendor and I told them to please reach out to my planner and they said she still didn’t call, so alas, I took care of it all while still trying to be there for my family. I return home and realize there was still no communication (even though she said she tried to call and there was no answer from any vendor apparently) and told her we no longer need her services. She was upset but said she would return our deposit because she understood. It’s almost a month after the wedding and she won’t return messages and we have yet to see the money. She seemed to be too busy to help me even though we had an agreement and paid money. The wedding went flawlessly thanks to our other fabulous vendors. I really want to recommend Dana, but unfortunately I cannot. (Edit: she finally returned my text after seeing I left a review on the website.)
