Exceeded expectations

Kevin was simply outstanding. He is professional, prompt, and extremely knowledgeable and had an answer to all our questions. We hired him as our “day of” wedding planner but he generously worked with us from the day we hired him until the reception ended. He was friendly and helped my wife and I feel so comfortable and confident things would go flawlessly, and the did. He coordinated perfectly with all vendors and “fixed” anything that needed tweaking. I strongly recommend Kevin and I hope we remain friends with him as well. He exceeded our expectations!

Because my work requires that I travel quite a bit, I knew that I would need a wedding planner. I set appointments with three planners and it was clear within minutes of meeting him that Kevin was the one for me. From the moment we sat down together, his enthusiasm was contagious. I hired him for full planning and was confident from day one that he would deliver the wedding I wanted, but would not be able to plan because of my work schedule. All of the vendors he brought in were wonderful and I felt that they actually cared about our big day as much as we did. I truly had the perfect wedding. I had several of guests say so as well. At the end of the night, so many people said it was the most amazing wedding they had ever been to. We could not have had this without Kevin's planning and guidance. It all turned out even better than we could have ever imagined!

My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Brass Tacks Events and our wedding planner Kevin Molesworth. He took our wedding vision from a bunch of my random thoughts and ideas in my head to a perfect wedding day! From day one, his communication was prompt and extremely helpful. It was clear that his years of experience serve him well, because no matter how bizarre my questions, he always had the answer. Kevin assisted us with every thing from the venue and caterer all the way to the tiniest of details. My husband and I do not live in Austin so having him there was a great relief because he knows every vendor in town and had so many resources. As an admitted "Type-A" personality, I would have never thought that I would be 100% comfortable trusting someone else to take care of my wedding day. That said, I put my whole trust in Kevin, and he did not disappoint. Actually, he went above and beyond anything I could have imagined. I hired Kevin of Brass Tacks Events to plan my wedding and it was a great decision! I knew early on that our venue required everything to be brought in, so hiring a planner was a must, especially since I live in Boston. All of Kevin's vendor recommendation were spot on. His communication was frequent and thorough and he always made himself available for meetings when I was in town. Like many brides, I was starting to feel anxious during the week of the wedding, but Kevin put all my worries to rest at the rehearsal. Watching him in action, you couldn't feel anything but confident that you were in good hands. On the day of the wedding he kept the tasks and vendors all on time and my husband and I even got to sneak out to take special photos, while still enjoying hours of dancing with friends, because he kept everyone on point. Hiring Brass Tacks Events was the best decision we made because we didn't have to worry about a single thing and could enjoy our wedding! We received lots of compliments from my family on how warm and friendly he was in addition to being professional and efficient.

Lindsey did an AMAZING job planning our wedding, I cannot even express how warm, helpful, and communicative she was. We even had to move the ceremony indoors just a few hours before and she handled it like a total BOSS. She kept us on schedule throughout the night, checked in frequently without badgering us, and made sure everyone was having fun! From the first time we met(several months before the wedding) she was very friendly, genuine, organized, and professional. She is great at what she does and any bride would be lucky to have her help plan her big day!

I wish I could give more stars!!

I hired Brass Tacks Events about 2 months before my wedding. I hadn't been able to do much planning and therefore, was left having to plan a big wedding in 2 months. My first meeting with Kevin and Lindsey H. was so fun! We jived really well so I knew I wanted to hire them. I have to say that they were some of the most patient people I've ever worked with. I was a bit of a nightmare bride: I was going to grad school, studying for the GRE, coordinating a new Methodist church start, and caring for my children. So I was not the best at responding to emails but they did not give up on me. They also worked with me on pricing for their services, which I found incredibly surprising for a popular vendor. Throughout the process, Lindsey continued to be very helpful and patient. She kept me on track the whole way, sending me reminders about what I needed to do next and coordinating all my vendors. I would never have been able to get through those two months without her. She was a lifesaver.

The day of the wedding was equally well-coordinated because of Lindsey. Every time I had a mild heart attack about something, she had either taken care of it already or jumped on it right away. She made sure to make my day run smoothly so that I could relax and enjoy my wedding. The wedding went off so beautifully and there's no way that would have happened without her. At the end of the night, ALL of my stuff that I had left scattered in the bridal cottage was neatly packed away in our going-away vehicle. She definitely did the work of about 20 people. I HIGHLY recommend her and Brass Tacks' services.

Lindsey was the Day-Of-Coordinator for my son's wedding, and she was incredible. The months of plans and organization - it all came down to the one day - and I was able to just hang back and enjoy. Lindsey took over everything, made it all run smoothly, and it was beautiful.

Kevin and his team were fantastic! We recently had our wedding last March in Driftwood, TX. He answered any questions we had and made the whole wedding planning a lot less stressful than it needed to be. A few months before my wedding I started to get very stressed out about the details. Since it was a smaller wedding I thought I didn’t need any help, but soon realized I didn’t want to be the one making sure everything went smooth on the day of my wedding. I wanted to enjoy my special day stress free, and I was able to do that because of Lindsey. Her confidence and organization instantly eased my anxiety and I was able to live it up on my wedding day knowing she was there and in control. Not only is she extremely professional, but she’s also genuine, and made me feel like my wedding was just as important to her as it was to me. My wedding day is a day that I will remember forever and Brass Tacks was a huge part of making it so special!!!

My now mother-in-law gave me the greatest gift of all when she hired our wedding planner on our behalf. From the moment I got engaged, I was excited to work on my wedding plans, but I knew that other than a pinterest page and some mental images, I really had no idea what I was doing and how I would get from point A to B. Also, because I don't live in Austin, I didn't know where to begin when hiring local vendors. Kevin seemed to have connections for everything under the sun and all of the vendors we used were absolutely amazing. When we decided late in the game to change from a DJ to a band, he found an awesome 7-piece party band that was a huge hit with all of our guests. I also feel like Kevin really "got" me. I admit that I wasn't always great at articulating my vision, but he seemed to ask all the right questions and in the end everything was perfect. Exactly what I wanted.

Writing a 5-star review is not something I take lightly. I travel quite a bit with my work and I have been fortunate enough to stay at some of the finest hotels and dine at the best known restaurants anywhere in the world. I don't believe in hype, I don't buy-in to something because it's trendy, I simply believe that the finest things should exceed even your greatest expectations. When seeking a professional wedding planner and designer, my philosophy was the same. I was by no means a bridezilla, but much like every bride, I wanted everything to be perfect. That said, it was shocking, to say the least, when I had a meeting with the first wedding planner in Austin and she told me within our first 5 minutes of conversing, "Something always goes wrong on your wedding day so just get over it now and move on." I couldn't believe my ears! I immediately ended the consultation, but could not fight the urge to say in response, "I'm sorry you feel that way. My father is a heart surgeon and I couldn't imagine him ever saying that to a patient before heading into the operating room." My second experience with another planner was not much better. It was not until I met Kevin with Brass Tacks Events that my hope for a perfect wedding day was renewed. Contrary to my previous meetings with other planners, I knew that I was going to hire him within the first five minutes of our consultation. His energy was unbelievable and his excitement and enthusiasm for my ideas was so refreshing. Even when I shared some of my "crazier" ideas, he never said "No, we can't do that." or "Well, that's really hard to pull off." Instead, he seemed to jump at the challenge of something that was different from the norm. The entire planning process was smooth and enjoyable and the wedding day was flawless.

I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day and I have Brass Tacks Events to thank!! My husband and I had a very limited budget compared to most weddings and hiring Brass Tacks was worth every single penny!

Everyone there genuinely loves what they do and cares about you as a person, not just a customer--"Believe in Perfection" isn't just a slogan to them, they live it! Their top priority was making sure they understood my vision for the wedding and made it happen. (Kevin asked the right questions to get information since I didn't have a theme for the wedding.) Because of our small budget, they suggested what to focus on, what NOT to skip, and how to spend less on certain aspects while still putting on a fun, classy wedding that we got SO many compliments on!

We got the day-of package and Kevin and Lindsey were happy to look over contracts and talk to vendors to make sure everything was perfect. This alone saved us money and kept us from a potentially disastrous catering situation!

Lindsey was a dream to work with; I'm still getting comments from family members and the wedding party on how amazing she was! Kevin is the best too--he surprised me by showing up and videoing the entire wedding for us. (For real, how amazing is that?!)

Lindsey's professionalism, communication skills, attention to detail, and follow up with vendors put me at ease and gave me confidence that things were under control. She arrived early, directed all vendors competently and efficiently, answered questions for guests, family, and members of the wedding party, and checked in on me periodically to make sure everything was great--all with a level head and a smile on her face!

Everyone at Brass Tacks truly went above and beyond what was expected and I 100% recommend using them as your event coordinators! I cannot imagine anything they could have done better! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be present for and enjoy every moment of my wedding day!!

Lindsey provided us with excellent service throughout the entire process. She helped us to establish (and stick to) a budget and timeline that allowed us to have the wedding we wanted. She also recommended excellent vendors that fit our vision. Communication was always easy and available when we needed it. I hired Kevin of Brass Tacks Events to assist in planning every aspect of my wedding. My mother and I had some ideas of things that we wanted, but realistically, we acknowledged soon after I got engaged that we really had no clue what we were doing. From the beginning, I was really impressed with the way that Kevin could take even my most abstract and incomplete ideas for the wedding and translate them into reality. I admit that I sometimes have a hard time explaining myself and having a planner that would listen to my ramblings and take extra time to work through each element meant a lot to me. I genuinely felt like he had a vested interest in the overall look and success of my wedding. On the day of the wedding I was really pleased to see how Kevin and his team interacted with my guests. They truly made everyone feel like they were a VIP. He really charmed my grandmother by taking great care of her the entire evening. I cannot thank him enough for that as she is so important to me. After we got back from our honeymoon, we were flooded with calls and emails from guests saying that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We cannot say enough good things about Brass Tacks or Lindsey Hollingsworth, our fabulous day-of coordinator who helped make our wedding such a success!

We decided late in the game to bring on wedding coordination help, and even with very little time to prepare, Lindsey jumped in with both feet. She made a very detailed schedule for our day, coordinating with all of our vendors at two separate venues, so that we didn't have to worry about a thing. Because of this level of planning and expertise, our day went off without a hitch. Without. One. Hitch. It was incredible. Lindsey and her team really took care of us.

Lindsey is a consummate professional. She knows her stuff, folks. If you are planning a wedding and need some extra support, she's the one for you. Lindsey Hollingsworth was able to balance the perfection of the theoretical with the beauty of an imperfect wedding reality. Lindsey functions in the "now" and enables her clients to enjoy the "moment." Clients have the need to experience a tremendous amount of life and love in a single day. Lindsey provides the expertise and the calm leadership that facilitates the satisfaction of these needs.

Lindsey Hollingsworth cooperatively creates a plan and adapts that plan as needs arise and as circumstances dictate. She was responsive, yet firm when necessary. Ms. Hollingsworth exuded confidence and competence. She gave the impression that not only is she good at what she does, she loves and enjoys it.

Lindsey Hollingsworth's knowledge and experience seem vast, but perhaps her intuitive and instinctual talents are more important. She seemed to know and understand our needs and our fears. We found her to have a positive influence on the entire wedding party. We cannot truly express our appreciation regarding what she did for our daughter's wedding.

In our opinion, Lindsey Hollingsworth is not only talented, but gifted. Her talents and gifts could be valuable in many of fields of endeavor.

I am definitely not one of those brides that started dreaming of her wedding day as a little girl. I guess you could say that I'm a bit unconventional and I wanted to have an unconventional wedding. When I met Kevin I can remember like it was yesterday exactly what he said to me when I explained my ideas. He smiled and said, "The rules are there are no rules. It's your day and we can do whatever you want." That sentiment was not what I was hearing from family and close friends when I described my vision, so it was immediately reassuring to know that I finally had someone in my corner. From the very beginning I figured this would be the most expensive dinner party I ever throw in my life, so I wanted it to be as fun and quirky as my new husband and I are known to be. Kevin connected us with the perfect DJ and had some really great ideas for our centerpieces and other decorations. He also found the perfect photographer for us too. Not only is she very talented, she was the type of person that we enjoyed being around and was someone that instantly fit in with all our crazy friends. We hired Brass Tacks based on a rave review from my best friend's sister who worked with them on her wedding last year. From the first day of planning to the big day of the wedding, the service was top-notch. Kevin is a consummate professional and handles every detail with the utmost care. You can tell that he recognizes the great significance of the amount of money we were spending and kept reminding us that he wanted every dollar we spent to have "impact". After getting engaged, I immediately put the task of getting a planner at the top of my list. I wanted this to be the very first thing I did. I've heard from several people that many brides become very "Alpha" when it comes to their weddings. Well, that's just not me. I'm happy to hand over everything...to the right person, of course. I met with five planners and was amazed that four of them told me right out of the gate that my vision was impossible and that my ideas were too difficult to pull off. Everyone except Kevin, that is. I knew within moments of meeting him that he was going to be my guy. Not only did he believe that my vision could be executed, but he was almost as excited at I was. I had one idea that, I admit, was rather quirky, and I can still remember the huge smile that came across his face when I explained it. He clapped his hands and said, "Yes! I love it!", and began drawing up a rough sketch immediately. This is going to sound so dorky, but in that moment he made me feel like a princess and he was this magical wizard granting my every wish. From that day forward, everything was smooth sailing. The planning process was actually fun instead being stressful. Having a planner like Kevin that comes from a place of "Yes", a truly positive space, is priceless. Everything was perfect! I am the groom, not a bride. Most grooms do not write these reviews, it's a man thing, but I felt so strongly about Brass Tacks and their expertise that I asked to write their review. Brass tacks helped my, now wife, plan, coordinate, comfort, and relieve stress from wedding planning. Our wedding was spectacular, better than I could have ever imagined. My wife planned most of the details, but to have done all the details and coordinated the wedding the day of, would have cost her her dream, she would not have been able to enjoy her own wedding. Brass tacks flawlessly integrated and guided us every step of the way. Kevin was an excellent source for common problems, pit falls, and helped to put things in perspective. My husband and I both had full time jobs and were attending grad school full time when we got engaged. We knew that hiring a wedding planner was a given but we were determined to find the RIGHT one for the job. Enter Kevin of Brass Tacks Events. From the vendors to the timeline to my mildly crazed moments when I needed reassurance, he did it all. My wedding was amazing and I owe it all to Kevin and his team. During the reception, even my father took note of how amazing Kevin was. He walked over to me and said, "I am convinced that when your planner goes to the beach, he walks on the water. He's a miracle worker."

Oh...and for all you brides out there that think you can't afford a planner, think again. Because he was always aware of sales and had access to special discounts, he paid for himself in savings. AND, taking away all of my stress throughout the planning process was priceless. The very first time I met Kevin I immediately felt a weight lifted from my shoulders and that carried all the way through to my wedding day.

Kevin contacted me after receiving my information at a bridal show. He was persistent in setting an appointment with me and I really appreciate that he was!

We set up a meeting and my mom and I hit it off with him from the start. He was so friendly, warm and gave us great ideas. He was able to make a package that fit within our budget and I felt calm and confident with our choice to go with him.

Throughout the planning process, Kevin was willing to give advice, calm my nerves and help in any way he could. My fiancee loved him. He was always responsive and offered fantastic recommendations.

On the day of the wedding, he went above and beyond. He and his staff were tireless in their efforts and he had a smile on his face for every interaction with me. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding day!

Thanks so much to Brass Tacks Events for everything they did in planning my wedding. Now that my wedding is over, I have to laugh a little bit as a watch a friend of mine plan her wedding, having not hired a planner. I told her 100 times that she should hire a pro, but she refused to listen. I never had any anxiety throughout the planning process because Kevin always had everything under control. ...even my crazy mother. (Yes, he even had her swooning and gitty after talking to her on the phone just one time.) My wedding was absolutely beautiful because Kevin made it that way. He treated every guest like a VIP, the vendors he chose were all so wonderful, and his entire staff is so friendly and they create this whole aura of calmness and serenity that you simply just don't get nervous. Seriously, my entire day felt like a trip to the spa. You need a sprite, bam, he's got it for you. Too hot in the bridal suite, bam, he finds the property manager and takes care of it, Bridesmaid leaves her heels locked in the trunk of her car, bam, his assistant fetches them and returns in two minutes. I strongly recommend that every bride in Austin hire Brass Tacks.

I'm a UT grad, but moved to Oklahoma when my fiance got a job up there. I knew that I wanted to get married in Austin because I still had so many friends there, but I also knew that I couldn't be making trips down south every weekend to meet with vendors and find a place to hold the wedding. I heard of Kevin through a friend of a friend that was a bridesmaid in another wedding that he planned. Once we chatted by phone, I knew for sure that he was the right planner for me. I really can't put into words how much Kevin and his team did for me. Aside from all the obvious stuff like helping choose vendors and meeting with them to make sure that every knew what I wanted, he just went so far above and beyond. I have probably a dozen specific examples, but I'm going to share one in particular. My mother had a handerchief that her mother (my grandmother) carried at her wedding and she was going to give it to me before the ceremony as a surprise. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away about a year ago and I was very sad that she wouldn't be there to see me get married. On the day of the wedding, my mother left the handerchief at the hotel which was about 40 minutes away from the venue. She went to Kevin in tears and without a moment of hesitation, he told her not to worry and that he would have it here in time for the ceremony. He rounded up one of his assistants, took my mom's room key, and sent her to go retrieve it. With 20 minutes to spare, Kevin walked into the bridal suite and took my mom aside and handed it to her. I had no idea what was going on. My mom then walked over to me and handed me the handkerchief and told me a very sweet story about my grandmother's weeding day that I had never heard. I hugged my mother like crazy and then she told me what Kevin had done to make it all happen and I hugged the stuffing out of him too. Thanks for EVERYTHING, Kevin!

Where to begin...
I knew right off the bat I needed someone to coordinate my wedding day. I had 3 months and 20 days to plan my wedding and honestly that didn't scare me, my mom scared me. I love her but she is a handful. I knew that if I didn't have someone to take the lead she would happily step up to it making everyone miserable.
I called several places and I would find myself getting voice mails and that just bothered me. I called Brass tacks and Kevin answered first ring. We spoke for quite some time and I found that a weight had already been lifted. This wasn't his first rodeo. I loved that he told me whatever I needed the answer would always be "Yes" ... I knew then this was the team I needed.
Through the planning process it was great having someone to call anytime I had a question "hey how long should I rent a photo booth for" He also took calls from my mom, Thanks for that by the way! Kevin went with me to the florist, venue and met my mom for an unnecessary run through but regardless he was there.
The day of Kevin took control of everything including my mom! He saw that people weren't signing my guest book and had his staff ask people to sign if they hadn't gotten a chance. During dinner I told Kevin I was going to just skip to bouquet toss and guarder toss and he said "OK! It's your day"! Two hours later I changed my mind "typical female moment" and in two minutes he and his staff collected the guarder for me, informed the band, and brought the guest around to watch. And at every moment he was calm and collective.

Every bride plans the perfect wedding but it's not always delivered that way. For me I was blessed cause I honestly planned my dream wedding and Brass Tacks took my visions and created it for me.

My wedding day was absolutely the best day of my life so far and I owe so much of that to Kevin and his team. Being able to turn everything over to him, I was able to focus on my family and friends and not running around looking for vendors like I've seen other brides do at their weddings. It was such a relief to just sit back, relax and actually enjoy every minute of the whole day. Not only did Brass Tacks deliver a seamless event, but you can tell that the entire staff really cares about what they do. It's not just a job to them. I know it sounds so cliche to say that they are "passionate" about weddings, but they really are. That excitement came through the very first time I met Kevin and was consistent during the entire planning process. There are seriously not enough wonderful things I can say about Kevin at Brass Tacks. He was worth absolutely every penny and then some. We hired Kevin for day of coordination after a bad experience with another coordinator, and he made everything run very smoothly at our wedding. It was such a stress buster to just tell people "ask Kevin" anytime they had questions or issues. I got to just focus on enjoying my wedding day, with absolutely no stress.

Again, I can't say enough about Kevin. Hiring Kevin was the single best decision I made in planning my wedding (well, um, aside from my groom, haha). I would recommend him to anyone.

Lucy and I first met Kevin when she dragged me along to a wedding show in Austin approximately 1year prior to our Texas wedding. I think we both knew almost immediately that Kevin was different and we hit it off right away. Immediately following the show we talked and realized that the first thing we should so was hire brass tacks for the wedding day and help with the vendor choices. All we can say is that Kevin went above and beyond on every single detail of our wedding from the food tastings to the time line on the day and we even managed to get him on the dance floor before the end of the evening. Words do not do justice to how thankful we are to Kevin and his dedicated team for making our wedding so special. I knew I wanted to hire Kevin as my planner even before we met in person! From the many planners that I reached out to before my wedding, Kevin was always the quickest to return my calls and answer my questions. He was also by far the friendliest and most enthusiastic.
Like most brides, I was anxious in the months prior to my wedding, but every time I had a meeting with Kevin, he would put me at ease and encourage me to actually enjoy the planning process, not fear it. What impressed me most about Kevin was how he handled last minute changes and additions that popped up. My family was not very involved during the whole planning process, then suddenly they decided they wanted to add their two cents. Kevin took took care of everything we threw at him. I already knew that I made a good decision by hiring Brass Tacks Events, but that notion was deepened by all the vendors that came up to me during and after the wedding to say that I was wise to hire him and how professional he was. I would strongly recommend Brass Tacks to anyone that is getting married. If you want a stress-free day and have all of your wildest expectations exceeded, give him a call. Heck, my baby sister is only 15 and you can bet that Brass Tacks will be planning her wedding in about 10 years.

I've been thinking about my daughter's Bat Mitzvah since the day she was born. After attending countless parties as a guest, it was finally our turn to host. I've learned a lot from seeing my friends struggle with the planning and pulling everything together, so I knew I wanted to bring in a pro for my daughter's. Our planner became known to us through a recommendation from the owner of the photobooth we hired. She said that she worked with Brass Tacks Events a bunch of times and had so many great things to say. Let me tell you, Kevin and his team did not disappoint. There was never a second when he didn't have control of everything. I'm the type of person that gets anxious when I have a few people over for a dinner party, so turning over the reigns to Kevin was hard for me at first, but when I saw how readily he handled everything in the early stages of planning, I knew the day of party was going to be a breeze. Everything looked beautiful and both kids and adults had a great time. I got so many compliments from our friends and I wish I could take the credit, but really, Brass Tacks pretty much did it all. I will definitely be hiring Kevin again in a couple years for my son's Bar Mitzvah.

Kevin was a pleasure to work with. We had as many meetings as we needed to insure the event was a success. He came up with a lot of cretive ideas for our Dr. Seuss themed Bat Mitzvah. The linens and the lighting that he selected reflected our theme in a spectacular way. He made sure that we had a timeline for the event and contacted all the vendors we were using to make sure they knew the schedule. All of our vendors commented on how professional Kevin was. Everything ran so smoothly the night of our event. His staff was extremely attentive as well and made sure that our guests were taken care of. He also made sure our kiddush luncheon after the service was set up and coordinated the ballons and caterer as well. We were able to enjoy the day from beginning to end without worrying about any details for the luncheon or the party.

I consider myself very lucky to have a loving and supportive family and was excited to have them help me prepare for my wedding day. Well, they definitely had the best intentions, but during the early stages of the planning process I quickly realized I needed to bring in a pro. I hired Brass Tacks and immediately saw what a blessing it was to have a planner. All the tasks that were taking me and my family weeks and weeks to complete were swiftly handled by Kevin. It was amazing how he was able to make quick work of the very things that seemed so difficult and daunting to us. Turns out, I actually enjoyed planning my wedding with Kevin's help. After seeing many of my friends go it alone, I was expecting a stressful, 9-month ordeal, but that was definitely not the case for me. He was very good at putting me and my mother at ease. It's also worth noting that he got us the most amazing vendors. I simply could not have asked for anything more. They were all perfect! Most important of all was how wonderful everything was on the wedding day. I admit, I am was one of those little girls that started planning her wedding at 5 years old. I had a vision and Kevin and his team delivered in spades. The entire day was seamless and I seriously cannot recall feeling anxious at any point in time. My husband and I planned our Austin, TX wedding while living in California, so we relied heavily on our vendors to provide references and direction to pull together our perfect vision. When we fell upon Brass Tacks Events and met Kevin we were beyond excited! Kevin was a HUGE help in providing the best service, guidance and directing us to the perfect vendors to pull off our big day! Specifically my wedding hair was extremely important to me and not knowing anyone in Austin I used a friends recommendation for a “top hairstylist” in the Austin area. Unfortunately this “top hair stylist” was “too busy” to respond to my phone calls and emails so I shared my lack of response dilemma with Kevin and he jumped in immediately to solve the problem and lead me to the most AMAZING stylist, Mandy Silver… she ended up being the perfect person and did exactly what I envisioned for my wedding day hair, all thanks to Kevin for leading me to her! Most of all we loved how Kevin really listened to us, invested time with us and was always available for questions via email and phone. Kevin also understood how important the details were to me and brought my vision to life for both the rehearsal dinner décor and wedding day décor… when I walked in to the reception venue I was so overcome with joy, I cried… I was so excited to see the final product and all couldn’t have been possible without Kevin! He knew exactly what I wanted and did everything possible to make our day wonderful. He was so attentive during our events to ensure we had what we needed and that both nights ran smoothly. His assistant Lindsey was also amazing! She went above and beyond, even at one point in the night helping me to get replacement contacts from my room. It was such a pleasure to work with Kevin and his team… Brass Tacks Events is a wonderful company and I highly recommend Kevin to help plan any event!

Hubby & I throw a LOT and I mean a lot of big parties and I can get seriously stressed and grouchy when we do. So from Day One we knew we wanted to hire a coordinator for our wedding to handle the day of mess. We met Kevin with Brass Tacks about 18 mos before our wedding after our original coordinator ran off with our money. He came to our house and we chatted for several hours and we just knew everything had worked out the way it should from the beginning. He was always very easy to chat with, had good advice for us, etc. And he's a real character and fun person. No problems when we decided to change out date from a potentially blistering summer day to what turned out to be a beautiful January day.

We hired Kevin to just handle the day of stuff which included him sorting out vendor scheduling and confirmations the whole week before. But he was also available if we needed vendor referrals, etc the whole time. The day of came and he was great, as were the ladies that came with him to help. Our fav part of the week/day was being able to say go ask Kevin if people were trying to bug us about anything especially vendor related. haha Or if like for us we had some guests arrive early for the reception while we were still doing family things. So we just let him know and he took care of it. Avoided the awkwardness of some of it. :) There were some last minute hiccups like with dinner & first dance music not working (we'd brought a disc instead of an ipod) but the Brass Tacks team was able to work it all out with the sound guys from the band and no one knew the difference. If anything went seriously wrong I was never aware. Sure there were little things we forgot to bring with us or didn't get ready. But no one was ever the wiser and Brass Tacks made sure it all went smoothly.

If we ever get married again (hehehe) or have some other big event we'll be hiring Brass Tacks for sure.

I met Kevin (with Brass Tacks Events) over a year and ½ ago and I can’t say enough how great he is! I booked him as my wedding planner a few weeks after getting engaged and this was without a doubt the best decision I made regarding my wedding.

In the long run he helped to save me money on my wedding, made the wedding day happen without a hitch, and was a huge source of support. During the year 1/2 I was engaged he was always available to chat or even meet with me, or vendors, if I asked. (And I did not book full planning services either, so he definitely went above and beyond).

Right when I met Kevin he was extremely positive and this is what I love most about him. He was always upbeat. Whenever I would get stressed or worried about wedding details speaking to him always calmed my nerves. Having an expert available to answer questions made booking him even more worth it. I probably sent him a bazillion emails. So many worries came up while planning and details I did not anticipate. It was great having someone that knows other people in the industry and how to navigate the crazy wedding world! (he let me know when there were discounts or deals around town, which is always a plus).

The day of my wedding was very busy. Kevin kept everything on track. I literally did nothing on my wedding day but enjoy my friends and guests. I’m sure there were small problems that arose - but I didn’t know about them because Kevin handled them. And everything turned out beautiful!

Kevin was worth every penny I spent on him. Even if you have to cut corners somewhere else, hire a planner (and definitely check out Kevin)! It’ll save you money in the end and TONS of stress.

What can I say about Kevin. Not only did he ensure that my wife was calm the day of our wedding, he made sure our entire process was smooth and as precise as possible. Kevin was there to help when we couldn't figure out pricing for flowers, arrangements, hotel blocks, ice luges, dining menu, calming down the horse that was pulling our carriage, and the list just goes on and on.

Above all, my wife and I hit it off with Brass Tacks and then she became incredibly calm once she knew he was was working with us. That alone was worth any budget item we reviewed since it calmed me (the guy) as well.

I know that Kevin thought of us as more than a contract and that is the most valuable aspect that Brass Tacks Events brings to any partnership.

As the mother of a recent bride, my advice to all other brides is simple: Hire a wedding planner! You might think you can handle everything on your own, but you will soon find yourself in over your head. Even with my daughter and I, my daughter-in-law, and my sister (the bride's aunt) working on it, we quickly realized we needed to bring in a pro.

That's where Brass Tacks Events came in. I honestly believe that Gia and Lauren are the reason why my daughter's wedding ran so smoothly. Gia always responded quickly to our emails with professionalism and provided personal attention when we needed it the most. She truly went above and beyond the call of duty. From calming nerves and putting us at ease, to meeting us at a coffee shop to look at inspiration boards. Gia and Lauren did all the behind the scenes tasks before anyone realized they even needed to be done.

Another great thing about working with Brass Tacks was their seemingly unending list of resources. Initially, my daughter decided that she didn't want a limousine for her sendoff. Well, two weeks before the wedding she changed her mind. We thought it would be impossible to find a quality limo service on such short notice, but Gia pulled it off.

From the moment we had our first consultation with Gia all the way through to the day of the wedding, we knew we could turn to her or support. Hire Brass Tacks and you will not be disappointed. "Believe in Perfection" isn't just a catchphrase. They made believers out of me, my daughter and every guest at the wedding.

Like so many other girls, I always thought that having a wedding planner was a luxury. After getting engaged, I attended the weddings of two of my friends - one had a wedding planner and one did not. Oh my goodness, after seeing the differences between those two weddings it was so obvious to me that a planner is NOT a luxury, it's a NECESSITY!! I did lots of research online and met with four different wedding planners and decided to go with Gia from Brass Tacks Events. She was awesome! We clicked immediately. She was the perfect blend of professionalism and personality. Lots of my friends and family at the wedding noticed that Gia and her assistant Lauren were on top of every detail and always did everything with a smile. You can tell that they really love what they do. Probably one of my favorite things about having them at my wedding was that my mother could actually enjoy herself. I didn't want my mom chasing down the caterer

My daughter, the bride, met with 3 other wedding planners and just wasn't ready to sign with any. I encouraged her to keep trying, and she met Kevin with Brass Tacks! Great decision, as we were all so happy with their services. From meeting with florists, linens, lighting and more, Kevin was there with great suggestions all along the way. Kevin was always quick to reply to our emails or phone calls, too. This was especially important as the bride and her mother lived in 2 different cities. His coordination with all the vendors the week of the wedding was awesome, so that the family could enjoy every minute stress free. His coordination for the wedding rehearsal was great, and everyone felt comfortable where to be, and when. The wedding was perfect, from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, thru the reception with dinner and dancing. We highly recommend Brass Tacks -- the bride AND her mother! Five star service!

I wish I could give Brass Tacks Events more than 5 stars! From the moment I met Kevin at the Bridal Extravaganza last January, he and I just clicked! Kevin had great ideas and just “got me” from the very beginning. My fiancé and I chose most of our vendors on our own, but Kevin was able to give us some very helpful tips as to what we needed to discuss with our vendors. He was also very flexible in working with vendors that were new to him, which I appreciated. When an issue arose with our original photographer, Kevin offered his advice and insight to the situation and offered to talk directly to the vendor to try and diffuse the situation.

In addition, Kevin is one of the best communicators I’ve ever dealt with. He returned e-mails, phone calls, and text messages very promptly and efficiently! When you are working with Kevin, you won’t have to wonder if he will respond to your e-mail – he will!

Kevin helped coordinate a wonderful wedding timeline and reached out to each of our vendors, personally, to confirm last minute details with them. This really saved my fiancé and me a lot of stress the week leading up to the wedding. At the wedding, a very peculiar event happened (a guest snuck upstairs and stole items from the Bride’s/Bridesmaids’ room) and I cannot tell you how thankful I am that Kevin was there! He handled the entire situation, from start to finish, with poise, class, and effectiveness. To be honest, my husband and I did not know something was amiss until it had pretty much been handled by Kevin and his team. Kevin was deftly able to turn a bad situation back into a fun, celebratory evening and we can’t thank him enough for that!!

You can tell that Kevin genuinely enjoys his job which I think is an important quality when you’re working this closely with someone regarding what may possibly be the biggest event in your life. I cannot tell you how many of our guests and family members have since commented on how wonderful Kevin was at the wedding. We hired Brass Tacts Events for day of coordination services and it was without a doubt one of the best wedding related decisions we made! We cannot thank Kevin and his team enough for all their phenomenal hard work from the second we made our decision to go with them to well after our wedding. As soon as I saw Kevin at our rehearsal I felt as though a ton of bricks had been lifted off my shoulders because I knew he would handle anything that came up...and he did! They did such an incredible job and were so much fun to be around. We were completely blown away by their top-notch professionalism, their ability to work so well with all of our other vendors, their attention to detail, and most importantly their dedication to making our wedding the absolute best it could be. If there were more stars available, I would have clicked them all! What can I say about Kevin from Brass Tacks Events but "WOW"! We met Kevin at a Bridal Extravaganza and were immediately impressed. From the minute we hired him, everything involved in our wedding planning went smoothly. Since we live in Houston and booked our venue in Austin, we needed someone that knew which vendors would work best with our style and budget. Not only did he help us pick a number of our vendors but he took care of every detail of the wedding, which actually did go perfectly (it's not a myth!). Kevin is an excellent communicator (which was key to us since we didn't even live in Austin). He returned emails, texts and voice mails promptly and efficiently. He was friendly and professional and always gave us great advice. On the day of the wedding, he not only coordinated the entire event with multiple vendors, but kept checking on my fiance and I to make sure that we had everything we needed and were calm, cool and collected. He made sure that the wedding stayed on the timeline we planned and that the photographer and videographer didn't monopolize us for the entire evening. By the end of the year it took to plan this wedding, it felt like Kevin was part of the family. We can't thank him enough and know that if you pick him, you won't be disappointed.

There are so many good things I can say about Kevin and Brass Tacks Event.

1. I am French and I was quite lost in the wedding planning process in the US. Since my fiancé didn't want to get too much involve in the process and that my and his family lived quite far from us, we were debating on hiring an event planner. We met Kevin at the Bridal Extravaganza and he made us feel comfortable right away. After the first appointment at home, I knew I wanted to hire him, but went online to compare his service with other event planners. Conclusion: he offered the best services for the best price.

2. Since my husband and I were financing our wedding, we were on a budget and Kevin gave us some tips on how to save here and there, and help us found great vendors that were within our price range.

3. I was a little worried about the whole planning process and every time I had a question, Kevin helped me with it and made me feel more confident about it. He even gave me some advice on how to handle my parents that were stressing me out!

4. Kevin went beyond the services we hired him for without asking for extra fee, which helped us a lot. He was also very flexible: we had an issue with a venue and we had to postpone the wedding to a later date, and Kevin agreed to that new date immediately.

5. Finally, and most importantly on the big day, Kevin was just amazing and the day went completely stress free. He brought his assistant with him, Lauren and she is just the sweetest person ever. She helped me with putting my gown when my mom was stressed 15 minutes before the ceremony. She was very attentive to the details; for e.g. she gave us some advice on how to hold the bouquets to make it look nice on the pictures, during the picture session, she was always here to rearrange my dress, catch people attention when they were needed on the pictures... Kevin synchronized all the vendors, found solutions to problems that were raised (I didn't even know there were problems until after the wedding), he was very attentive to everything and details during the whole day, evening and night (since the party went on until 2 am), very courteous to all my family and friends.

These are just a few examples of how Kevin and his crew helped my husband and I to plan our day and made it the best moment of our lives!

When I meet with Kevin I had let go of one wedding planner and I was uneasy to really depend on another one! But he made me feel at easy. He knows that it is not his wedding but yours. The day of was a crazy one. my family called and text me and I never replied. I found out that the questions and concerns they had he took care of them. There was a few things that were misplace at the hotel and he found them in time. If anything went wrong we did know about it. My day couldn't be more amazing and prefect! My feed back from my family and friends were that my wedding was well organized and that was what the feel I was looking for. My husband now had a stain on his pants and he told him and clean it!
A male wedding is not the answer but once you meet him you can tell that he has his heart in what he does.

When my husband Ryan and I decided to start planning our wedding, we knew from the get go we did not want a stressful planning period so hiring a wedding coordinator to help us out only made sense. We met Kevin at an Austin Wedding expo and from our first meeting we knew he was a perfect fit for our wedding.
Kevin was incredibly professional and at the same time fun and personable. Through out the whole wedding planning process, Kevin kept in contact with me, always available when I wanted to run something by him or simply get his opinion. As corny as it may sound, he made me feel as if I was the only bride he was working with.
Our rehearsal run through and dinner was a hit thanks to Kevin's work. Everyone was impressed by his work and his ability to just "fit" right on in. All of my wedding party absolutely loved him and I know for certain, many will likely use Kevin for their special day.

Kevin did such a fantastic job helping me with my wedding planning. When I first contacted him, I didn't know what I wanted and I was completely overwhelmed with all the choices. I told him I wanted something small, intimate, and neither too formal nor casual. He totally made that happen, and on the day of the event everything was perfect.

He organized me and gave me clear, specific instructions about what to do. At each step he recommended excellent vendors that were professional, reliable, and extremely good at what they do.

On the day of the event, I had absolutely no worries. He was completely in charge of the vendors and timeline, so we could enjoy the ceremony and the company of our guests.

We just loved loved loved Gia with Brass Tacks! We met her at an open house for the venue we were looking at booking. I'm not going to lie she was a big part of the reason we booked the venue. Gia was always there when i needed anything or had questions related to the venue, or anything for that matter! She was so helpful throughout the process and amazing the day of as well. I really don't know what we would have done without Gia's help for the day. Apparently there were some wedding day snags that I had no clue about BUT everything went off without a hitch! Would totally recommend Gia and Brass Tacks to anyone needing a planner or just day of coordinator.

Kevin helped my wife and I with day of coordination and was excellent in getting everything my wife wanted and needed accomplished. He helped to relieve a lot of the stress that goes hand in hand with the wedding day. This was by far the best investment we made for our wedding day!! Kevin gave over 100% to make sure we enjoyed our wedding day. Not only was I pleased with his service but I had my parents, in-laws and a couple of friends mention how hard he worked throughout the whole event. One of the vendors even commented that she's worked with other wedding coordinators but he definetly stood out from the rest. Everyone was very impressed with his service, friendliness, quick thinking, gosh I could go on and on. He is a gem...truly my best investment!! So, in about 4 yrs, we'll be knocking on his door again. But this time it'll be for a Quinceanera, we are looking forward to crossing paths with Brass Tacks again!

My son and his fiancee were to be married Nov. 1, 2010, in Austin. About 8 weeks before the only partially planned wedding, the venue was changed from a small open air chapel to House on the Hill, and the number of guests expected ballooned from 40 to 120. Kevin Molesworth from Brass Tacks Events was hired to pull a rabbit out of the hat with only 2 weeks to go. The day after we first met with him he had a wonderful caterer and photographer reserved. I can only imagine what the wedding would have been like without Kevin. Everything was awesome, and it appeared as though we had been planning for months. We were all very happy and relaxed knowing Kevin was coordinating every detail behind the scenes. He is an absolutely amazing event producer!

Kevin is so creative! He reminded me to make sure I had plans in place that would hit my guests at all sensory levels. Once I made all those plans there were so many moving parts it was hard to keep track! Kevin managed the team the day of the event perfectly. He also took numerous props and ideas I had stored up and used them to decorate my event space with an imaginative and artistic touch! I was able to be a guest at my own event which was priceless. His visual ideas are some of the best in the industry and his use of color and creativity are perfectly suited to the Bar/Bat Mitzvah reception.

Brass Tack Events was contracted to provide referrals, theme assistance, and day of event execution. After we worked out our communication methods and what we were looking for budget wise in referrals, Kevin did a fantastic job. Our actual event was a joyous occasion because we felt at ease knowing everything was being taken care of. It was just so nice not having to worry about anything. In fact, Kevin went above and beyond in certain situations bringing us a lot of joy, even after the event was over. We consider him a friend and would definetly recommend Brass Tack Event's services.

I was very impressed with Kevin during our first few meetings and signed with him immediately. It was only months in that I started to notice that I would have to initiate all the calls and follow up on action items that he was supposed to work on. I felt like I was planning the wedding and had to drag him along to keep him in the loop. The week of the wedding, we had to track him down as he did not arrange for a meeting with us on his own to go over the plan for the weekend. On the day of the wedding, Kevin seemed to have lost his problem solving skills. We were late from taking photographs and he refused to find a way to let me (the bride) in the venue from the back - he told me that I had to go through the front door and pass all the guests waiting. I was so upset that I had to send my bridesmaids out to find a way to open the back door. He made my husband upset by telling him and the groomsmen that I was upset because of their "behavior", when in turn I was upset with Kevin for trying to force me to walk through the front door. The two best men had to come into the bridal room to check on me because my husband was so worried from what Kevin had said (this was minutes before the ceremony!). It is a known fact that things will go wrong on the wedding day and Kevin seemed to be stubborn and unwilling to problem solve to find ways to make parts of the ceremony work as we had hoped - so much to the point that he had my mother in tears and my father/father in law very angry. We wanted to delay starting the ceremony for some of my relatives to arrive (about 15-30 minutes) and Kevin was strongly pushing against me. I thought it was the bride's choice? Kevin is a very personable guy, but not someone I would never recommend to run a wedding. I felt it created more stress for me than I would have ever imagined. I will say that he had some very good vendor recommendations, though.
