  If you are looking for a wedding planner who is well-organized, an excellent communicator, and truly cares about making your special day everything you dream of and more, then look no further than Altar Ego. We recently had the pleasure of working with Jen for our wedding, and we cannot recommend her highly enough.
  
  From the very first consultation, Jen took the time to get to know us and understand our vision for our big day. She was attentive, responsive, and always available to answer any questions or concerns we had. Throughout the planning process, she was extremely organized and detail-oriented, ensuring that no stone was left unturned and that everything was running smoothly.
  
  What really stood out to us, however, was Jen's communication skills. She was always clear and concise in her instructions and kept us up-to-date on every aspect of the planning process. She also took the time to listen to our ideas and concerns and provided valuable feedback and advice, making us feel confident and at ease every step of the way.

  Finding the right planner for your wedding can feel overwhelming—it truly can make or break your big day. Well, let me tell you, we hit the jackpot with Jennifer Ashford from Altar Ego Weddings! From our first meeting, we knew she was the rockstar we needed to bring our vision to life.
  Jennifer was incredibly conscientious of both our needs and our budget, making magic happen every step of the way. She worked seamlessly with Memory Lane's owner, Bobby, to ensure our day was absolutely stunning and everything I had dreamed of. There wasn’t a single question or crazy idea she couldn’t handle—she made us feel so heard and special throughout the entire process.
  Her organization and calm-yet-commanding presence on the day of were unmatched. She struck the perfect balance of chill and focused, making sure every detail was executed exactly as we envisioned. I was even able to fully relax the day of (which is not easy for me—I’m usually pretty anxious!) because I knew she had everything under control.

  I cannot recommend Jenn at Altar Ego Weddings enough! From the start, her experience and knowledge were clear. She has the best contacts in the business, and she helped me build an incredible vendor team for my wedding. While I wasn’t someone who dreamed of my wedding since childhood, I did have a vision, and Jenn brought it to life while ensuring we were good stewards of our budget.
  
  Jenn was a pro at handling tough conversations with vendors, providing clear feedback when needed, and reviewing contracts to ensure everything was in our best interest. Her negotiating skills helped us secure great deals, and she kept me organized with payment deadlines, form requests, and every other detail I would have overlooked.
  
  The planning process had its stressful moments, but Jenn was my biggest supporter and advocate, always reminding me to focus on the bigger picture—marrying my husband. In the end, she wasn’t just a planner but a true friend and accountability partner throughout the entire process.   Best Decision Ever!

  Working with Jen was the best decision we made! Even from my first phone call with Jen, I could tell how professional, experienced, and passionate she was about what she does. She was super receptive to our vision for the wedding and made everything go beyond anything we could have ever wished for! Even though we were planning our wedding from out-of-state, Jen made the process so seamless and stress-free. It ended up raining on our wedding day and Jen was able to pivot the entire wedding day less than 24 hours before it began - and you never would have guessed it was plan B because of how intentional and beautifully everything came together. It was the happiest day of our lives and I know that we have Jen to thank for that!

  It is hard to put into words how important it is to choose the correct wedding planner/coordinator. The minute we got off the phone with Jen, we knew she was our type of person. Jen communicates clearly, is heavily organized/detailed, and honors FUN. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but having the resources she provides and the open line of communication made my entire process run so smoothly. At the end of the day, your wedding is going to be the biggest party you ever throw and it is 100% worth the investment in Jen to help you take some of the load off and ENJOY the process.

  The Best Wedding Coordinator Ever

  We booked Jennifer as our Day of coordinator and she was amazing!! I cannot recommend her enough for all your wedding planning and/or coordination needs. In hindsight we probably should have done full service because our wedding day went off without a hitch! Everything was handled professionally and efficiently! As part of her coordination services she allowed us to email her questions and she reviewed contracts for guidance and that was invaluable. Her wedding portal checklists also helped me stay organized throughout the year I was wedding planning. Seriously hire Jen! She is THE BEST. You won’t regret it.

  Love Altar Ego Weddings

  I do not have enough kind words! Exceptional planner - she listens (#1 in my book), she's not afraid to step away from the 'traditional' or 'norm' ideas and/or update them to match the bride and groom (not my wedding, but you have to see the Jurassic Park theme she pulled off - brilliant). I absolutely loved working with her!

  The Perfect Wedding Planner for Us

  My daughter’s wedding was just last weekend and the whole experience working with Jennifer from start to finish was fantastic! We chose the Guide package for month-of planning and coordination as well as a design option. Throughout the process, Jennifer answered all of our questions promptly and in a straight-forward manner, which my daughter and I appreciated very much. Her help with fine-tuning the design helped get us over the initial moments of indecision. The month before the wedding, Jennifer takes complete control and checks every tiny detail of every contract, talks to every vendor multiple times and produces a timeline document that everyone can follow down to the minute on wedding day including diagrams of where each member of the wedding party stands and where family will be seated. There was really nothing for us to do the week before the wedding except pack things that we were bringing. The whole day was organized and actually effortless on our part. We were all able to enjoy the day without stress. The only glitch that occurred was a transportation issue due to traffic and Jennifer handled it directly with the company and kept us updated. I truly believe that Jennifer Ashford is the ultimate professional in the wedding planning business and offers services well worth the cost no matter which plan you choose!

  The Real “Easiest Yes”!

  Altar Ego is without a doubt the best purchase of my whole wedding! Jennifer is professional, wise, has a great attitude, and helped me navigate the wedding process with so much grace.   The Best Planner in the Business!! World Class Planner!!

  Wow wow wow where do I even begin to start with this review. Jennifer Ashford is a WORLD CLASS INCREDIBLE wedding planner. We hired her for her full service wedding package as we were planning the Austin wedding from out of state, and so beyond glad we did. I planned my wedding with her for over 18 months. I’m a very “type A bride” who loves to try new things and she executed everything at our wedding with excellence and answered my thousands of emails over the course of almost 2 years, which was absolutely amazing. We planned a larger wedding ~200 guests, mostly out of town guests, at Addison Grove and knew nothing about planning a wedding nor planning a wedding in Austin. We learned so much from Jen! And it was such a fun process to work with her! Our wedding had all the “things”- Photographer, Videographer, Content Creator, String Band, DJ, Catering, Bar, Photobooth, Desserts, Florist, Beer Donkey’s, Fireworks, Getaway Cars, Charter Buses, Full Glam team, Rentals, And more- and Jen managed each and every vendor with excellence, taking us along for the journey throughout the whole process. I really don’t know how she does it all on top of having younger kids but she is really the best in the business. Jen is one of those planners who always will support your goals and dreams you desire for your wedding, while maintaining what’s realistic and execution-able. She tells you the “really really” and makes sure you make smart and educated decisions for your wedding day. Jen not only was able to deal with my “type A bride” many asks, but also balanced our demanding parents asks in parallel and made sure we as the couple’s voice was represented. She was always on top of her email and communication clarity, speed, and actionability was superb. Her wedding network within Austin is also outstanding- far better than most planners. She’s highly connected with all the vendors and her years of wedding planning experience show in her work- and she will make sure your day is perfect with the perfect vendors for your specific needs. Every single vendor we worked with, as recommended by her, was incredible. She also was always open to trying new things and new ideas for the wedding that were different than the average wedding and was willing to be creative and flexible with the vendors to make our dreams happen! And trust me we had a lot of out of the box ideas we learned from social media that stretched vendors to think differently! Above all else she was a joy to work with! She’s a wonderful person, has a good sense of humor, and is so kind and caring. I felt like she was such a good friend by the end of the process.   Jennifer was absolutely wonderful to work with for our wedding. Her planning tools were incredibly useful, she was extremely thorough and did everything in her power to make sure I didn't have to stress during my wedding day. As soon as she stepped in as my month of coordinator I felt all my stress go away and knew everything was in great hands. The entire day was so seamless and resulted in us having such a fun night.   Fantastic Experience, a True Professional - Go with Jen!

  We worked with Jen to plan our wedding in September 2022, and picking her as our wedding planner was one of the best decisions we made. We purchased a “guide” package, and I think we certainly got our money’s worth of help from her (and then some). I can’t comment on how Jen compares to other wedding planners in Austin (since I only plan on getting married once!). But I can comment on how phenomenal it was to work with Jen, and how I have a hard time thinking someone else could do it better than her.
  
  For my wife and me, the two most important traits we wanted in our wedding planner were effective communication, and an enjoyable personality to work with on wedding day. When we first interviewed with Jen, we quickly knew that Jen would easily check both those boxes. She wonderfully blends a joyful, friendly personality with diligence and professionalism. Sure, other planners were less expensive, but even after our initial consultation we knew that we were getting a fantastic planner with her, well worth the price.
  
  Right off the bat, I was impressed with Jen’s organizational skills. She provides her clients with a virtual toolbox of documents/slides which have every little detail of the wedding laid out. She included helpful timelines, organized structure to manage your contracts, advice on rehearsal dinner locations, and much more. You get this level of professionalism with Jen, since she’s been in the industry for so long. And if you’re like me, you will have thousands of questions throughout the planning process - Jen answered them all, always in a timely manner. Since we purchased the “guide” package we didn’t get much direct planning from Jen before our wedding week (we had her handle the transportation, which she did wonderfully), but all the advice/responses to our questions were incredibly useful.
  
  Her experience in wedding planning made the biggest difference on our actual wedding day. For her and her team, managing a wedding is just another day - and that’s important! Because you don’t want your wedding planner to be stressed at all, because then you’ll be stressed. And with Jen, she and her team have the experience and confidence to seamlessly manage your wedding day, so you don’t end up worrying about a thing. And at the end of the day, that’s why you get a wedding planner - so that you don’t have to sweat the details, and can instead focus on your special day with your spouse, together.   Jennifer is simply the best!

  My husband and I got married in August at The Addison Grove, we had the most amazing team.   Dream come true

  Jennifer provided month of service for my daughter's wedding and she was a joy to work with. She listened to all of our ideas and on the day of, set everything up for us. She worked well with our vendors and kept everything running so smoothly that I was able to spend quality time with my daughter vs setting things up and worrying about what might go wrong. The day was perfect. The bride and groom had a blast and we have beautiful pictures to remember every minute. Jennifer and her team were key to making it all perfect. She is worth every penny.

We had our wedding in Austin but live in Houston, she was great at ensuring to schedule appointments around our schedule. Jen was flexible and responsive to emails throughout the entire planning process. The day of the wedding she ensured that everything was running smoothly and on time. My husband and I felt the planning process was stress-free and could not have done it without Jen.   Jennifer was a huge help, and was always ready to be real and up front with the implications of any wild ideas I had. When I struggled to articulate what I wanted, she knew all the right questions to ask to get me there, and when a random emergency struck on wedding day, she went above and beyond to handle the problem without stressing me out.

  Stress-free month before our wedding!

  Jen with Altar Ego was such a blessing the month before our wedding. We selected all our vendors on our own and signed up for only the month before and day off service. Let me just say the attention to detail was amazing. We eventually added the design service and so glad we did as the reception was everything we imagined and more. We also had the reception cocktail hour entertainment have to pull out last minute and Jen hooked us up with a great quartet, and she helped me find a wedding cake only 3 weeks before the wedding. I can truly say I enjoyed my entire wedding day and had absolutely no stress what-so-ever (besides my Latin family being on time to the service ;)... IYKYK).

Given there was so much uncertainty surrounding COVID, in addition to our venue not cooperating all the time, there was nothing Jen hadn't already thought of or asked about to clarify how it would be handled. Even when she was back to back with weddings, she always made us feel like everything was under control and ensured us things would come together -- which they did perfectly! As the bride, I was able to feel free of any stress on the day of the wedding to focus on what was most important knowing Jen had it handled. Spend the $$ on a planner.
